She walks away from me and eventually slams the password in front of me, after asking again. I was close to leaving but also didn't want to fault a shop for a horrible employee. Just a nice Chai situation, a nice space, good energy and cool décor, all relative descriptors but this is my review. About the décor, I am all for a place with stamped tin. Stamped tin in a place incorporating a Civil War anthology into the furnishings piques my palate even further. Ordering was fun and easy. I didn't want much and the staff were cool people. I moved into the neighborhood and immediately started looking for the coffee spot, and found it with IC Brooklyn! This place is my go-to for coffee and baked goods on the weekend. I've also come in to work on WFH days, and found it to be suitable for that as well - there are a couple high standing tables, as well as a place with comfy couches. You should also check out the back patio. It's such a comfortable and welcoming cafe. I almost always go for the iced coffee and an everything bagel with cream cheese. Coffee is around ~$3-4 depending on what you order. The bagels aren't massive like some Brooklyn bagel spots, but they're always toasted to perfection - also pretty average price range for BK bagels. The staff is super super super friendly, and always get everything to you in a timely manner. And for being a coffee shop, their menu is actually pretty expansive. They also sell juices, smoothies, sandwiches, etc. As far as Bushwick coffee shops go, this one does it really well. Check it out. read more

It's a bit out of the way, but I really like the vibe and the fact that the patrons seem to be all from the neighborhoods. I had the Brooklyn Bagel (when in Rome you know) and it was really good. The people at IC are the bomb. Being that weird regular that gets the same Açaí bowl every time with microwaved bananas, I've never gotten a consistently amazing meal anywhere else. Their coffee and specialty drinks are killer. Back patio is such a nice hang on sunny days. Staff are incredibly kind. I just love this place! It's a block and a half away from my apartment and everyone that works there is always nice. I'm a creature of habit and tend to always get the Classic Acai Bowl and boyfriend always gets one of the bagel sandwiches. Everything has always been good. The fresh juices are also delicious (wish they would add turmeric to the menu) and the Spanish latte, iced or hot, always does it for me. Occasionally I will get the iced Cinnamon Dolce latte with almond milk and it is awesome too! They have some pretty tasty pastries as well, although I will say there have been a few times that I have gotten one and felt like they were a little stale or had the taste of freezer, if you know what I mean. As long as it is edible I don't sweat it though. However, there are situations where you don't want to say too much because you want to keep it to yourself and don't want it too change. This is exactly one of those situations. Studying, drawing, researching but it wasn't a heavy atmosphere. Whatever people were doing they were doing because they wanted to not because they had to. I suppose it's easier to do anything when you can choose from 3 different acai bowls, fresh juices, endless teas (I had a large hot ginger and honey tea, best I ever had), smoothies and custom made salads. They also had a nice lounge in the front where people were chatting. The service was impeccable just be patient sometimes there is just one person doing it all. It is worth the wait. So...i walked .7 miles in the rain to get to this place...I thought based on the reviews that they would have decent coffee. The iced coffee was absolutely disgusting, threw half away (would have tossed it all if I didn't desperately need the caffeine). The açaí bowl was only ok...it wasn't fully blended and there were large chunks of frozen idk what...I sat and ate the bowl in a cloud of what must have been cleaning chemicals. I won't be back as there are definitely much better options in the area, but to their credit, the staff was friendly (gave me a cup of peanut butter when they accidentally blended it into the bowl when I had wanted it on top) and there was plenty of room to sit. read more

Will not be coming back here. I came to use my laptop and have some coffee. I ordered an Americano and an espresso shot on the side. Mentally calculating, based on their menu I thought I would be paying about $5ish for both items. Then the guy says $9. I asked him why if i asked for a small Americano, he said because it is a double shot and it came up as a "medium" on the receipt but it was still in a small cup. He said something about it having an extra shot of espresso and they have different ways of charging Americanos. Also, I was charged for the espresso separately!
