Cute place. I stumbled across it, in desperate need of a caffeine fix. Its small, but vibey. I got a coffee, but they have a nice selection of food items. They have your simple drip coffee to fancier selections. It seems they have food items from pastries to actual food. There were signs for no computers, so this seems like a place to go get some coffee with a friend and watch up. Overall, glad I stumbled across this place and will be dropping by again to try more selections. read more

Greta in Greenpoint is a neighborhood coffee shop serving Mediterranean brunch dishes and great coffee. We came post workout glad ready to eat some hearty fare. We got the BK EC Wrap made with bacon, kabanos, eggs cheese and served with paprika potato hash and a side salad as well as the Greta Breakfast, a plate with over easy eggs, paprika potato hash, salad, labneh and zaatar pita. For drinks we got an iced latte and date latte. The food quality is great especially for small quarters and theres cozy outdoor seating available. I'm on a Brooklyn coffee kick! One of my friends lives nearby & we wanted to get a quick coffee on our lunch break! When we walked in, we were greeted by the workers who welcomed us & let us know that they were closing at 3 which was perfect for us since we only had a short break! We decided to get two cappuccinos, they were pretty good! We had them inside (limited seating), there's also an outdoors with plenty of seating; however it was snowy so we decided to take the cute table inside! Quaint Mediterranean cafe located in Greenpoint next to the park! This is a great brunch spot if you wanted somewhere that's peaceful to chat with friends or read a book. There's only one table located inside the cafe, but a handful of tables for outdoor seating that's covered and with a heater. The food at this cafe is pretty tasty -- the food is freshly made and comes out warm. They have seasonal menu items so you could always come back for something different. Had a pretty interesting experience though when I went with my group of friends. They allowed my friend to use the restroom, but when I asked, they said that they simply didn't have one. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt because it's probably near the kitchen and they don't want a lot of people crowding the area. read more

Quite possibly the perfect park-adjacent restaurant. And very thoughtful that menu items appeal to the function of nearly kind of park hang. As a new mom, handheld sandwich options saved me. The ham and cheese has no business being this tasry. Every picky toddler adores the pita grilled cheese, and I don't mind when mine leaves me half bc it's damn delicious. Rain interrupting a lunch or picnic - the overhangvoutdoot seating is heated/cooled thoughtfully. There aren't a lot of places left where my COVID-cautious pals can eat - so lovely to have a yummy option. And the grace and kindness I've seen the staff, especially Kevin and Anjeli - give every customer regardless of how they treat the staff - is just astounding. So thoughtful - bringing out l items customers forgot to ask for before they think to ask. Making sure that each drink is crafted perfectly. And showing every day that they truly care about building community. Had the Greta's Breakfast and it was delicious. Customers are not permitted to use the restroom which is absolutely BONKERS to me. There is a spacious and well heated outdoor seating area indicating they encourage you to dine outdoors, but there's no...toilet? At a place serving coffee and tea and...food? Bizarre. I was not given napkins with my order, and I overheard the people seated next to me complaining they also had not received napkins with their "$50 meal". Over easy eggs don't exactly travel well which is why I opted to take advantage of their seating rather than take my food home with me. Maybe I'll be back. Mayyyyyybe. read more

Such a shame. Food is decent but the service is terrible. This review is out of a few visits since we kept giving the place 'one more chance' but they always dissapoint. Gotten charged twice for food on a couple visits before. Today, we got our food put into containers and suggested to go find a table on the restaurant next door. We made it clear when we order our food that we would wait for a table. This was incredibly rude! Save your money and go somewhere else. There is plenty of good options in the neighborhood but if you pick Greta expect to be dissapointed. Will NEVER go back! read more

I love this cafe. The food & coffee is great. The customer service is great. The outside seating is lovely because you can close the door & there are heaters. BUT! People who sit down sometimes smoke cigarettes in the enclosed space while you're eating, it's inconsiderate. Also keeping the door open doesn't improve it & the heaters become redundant. Came here for lunch on a Friday during my lunch break. Outside seating is cute, spacious, and well heated. Got to sit next to a well behaved dog which was a plus. I ordered Greta's Breakfast inside and the food came out rather quickly. Absolutely fresh and delicious. Healthy without leaving you hungry or ... cold like after you eat a salad when you really want something hot. I love fried eggs more than anything so two of those was a plus. Normally I view potatoes as a waste of time and space (sorry!) but these were melt in your mouth and spiced deliciously. With the labneh and egg yolk, it was one of my favorite bites of the year so far. And for a crisp contrast - a refreshing portion of Israeli salad with red bell pepper in addition to the usual tomato and cucumber which I thought was a nice twist. And last but not least, what I turned into edible utensils, the toasted pita with zatar. Mmm! Such a lovely combination of flavors and a rainbow of bites for lunch or breakfast. So satisfied and definitely coming back to eat my way through the rest of the menu. Staff is super friendly as well. :))) read more
