I visited this Israeli spot for lunch with a few others a while back. [[HIGHLIGHT]]As others have mentioned, you're partially paying for the very nice view, and since it's a hotel restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was a bit warm at our table, and the friendly staff moved us to a cooler area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] To drink, I ordered the Wolf's Fang for $18, a blend of rums, falernum, arak, passionfruit, orange, and oat milk. As described, it was their take on a milk punch, and wasn't too sweet with a bright hint of citrus. I would recommend it. The hummus was good, being thick with a strong tahini flavor, though I have preferred others. Outside of the hummus, the daily salatim included a mix of mostly pickled items. First, there was some pickled cauliflower and carrots with a bit of turmeric. The second salatim was a more unique and spicier pineapple slaw, which was refreshing, and had some herbal flavor from parsley or something similar. The third was a cabbage slaw, which was alright, as I found it a bit too lightly seasoned. The last was a mix of cucumbers, olives, and other pickles, which was standard and tasty. Alongside all of this, the pita was warm and fresh, and the staff refilled everything when we asked. For the main course, I chose the Steak Shashlik, which they spell as shishlik, for $46, which came with tahini and some pickled onions. The steak was tender and well seasoned, and the tahini added a distinctive nuttiness. I especially enjoyed making a mini sandwich with the steak, tahini, pineapple pickle, and pita. Others at the table ordered the Spicy Lamb Kofta and other shashlik options, including Chicken and Trout. In terms of sides, someone got the $15 Fries with tahina ketchup, which they enjoyed. Overall, everyone enjoyed their meal, with no one ordering dessert as a few walked over to the tasty Bertoni Gelato nearby. This place is a tad expensive, but I wouldn't mind going back. Even as a fan of pickles, I wish the salatim were a bit more varied, such as including an eggplant or bean-based mezze. What a meal and what a view, Laser Wolf was truly fantastic. A few people had told me it was their favorite restaurant in the city, and when I peeped the menu and saw just how small it was, I was a little surprised by their sentiment. But, if you only do a few things, you probably do them pretty damn near perfect, and that was the case here. We had a late lunch reservation and enjoyed their prix fixe, which is the only real option aside from some smaller side dish options. The prix fixe came with your choice of protein, hummus, pita, and the daily selection of salatim, which happened to be cucumber, olive and pickles, Baba ghanoush, and a cabbage salad/slaw. Everything was great, but we really tore through the cucumbers and cabbage. The included sides were all bottomless, so they would stop by to refill if needed. For protein we got the chicken, steak, and lamb all to share. Again, each one was fantastic. I couldn't even pick a favorite because they were all so good. I would absolutely get any of them again, and would hope to get all of them again. We also got an order of the fries, which were so good and crispy. They were pretty thick so I wasn't expecting the crispy crunch, but they were cooked wonderfully. I've been to the original location in Philly, but I loved it so much that I knew I had to come here too. It's very hard to get a reservation here, but I was able to get a later dinner time for a group five. I think this is a great place to take a group of friends who have different dietary restrictions since everyone chooses their own main, but you still get to share the salatim as a group. My friend is a vegetarian, and they had plenty of options for her to choose from. I loved trying all of the salatim with my friends; it's really hard to not fill up before the entrees come! It's already a ton of food, but I really recommend getting the french fries. They're not your normal fries. They're super thick but crispy and perfectly seasoned. The only complaint I have about the place is that we were seated at the last table at the end so the heater didn't reach us. It was a freezing night, so we all had to keep our winter coats on. It's expensive ($60 with tax and tip each with a vegetarian entree), but good value with the unlimited salatim. We did the prix fixe -- my wife got the steak shishlik, I got the trout. At one point I'm pretty sure the pita basket respawned automatically like a video game. We also ordered the halloumi which was delicious, but absolutely unnecessary. That cheese showed up like an uninvited cousin to Thanksgiving dinner. Nobody needed it, but somehow we were still happy it came. The drinks at the bar were the real MVPs. Fruity, dangerous, and exactly what you want while staring dramatically out a rainy window pretending you're in an A24 film. The trout was excellent. From the food to the ambiance, this is really a great experience. Laser Wolf is great for both meat eaters and vegetarians to share food because the main salatim is literally all vegetables (but DELICIOUS) and you get to pick your own grilled meat/veggie. The salatim and bread is unlimited but the food was so filling, I did not need extras. The salatim flavor profile was so diverse, some being spicy, some pickly, it was great to experiment! We also got the fries which were seasoned well and crispy, and it did not need any sauce. Me and my friend got the steak and chicken shishlik and both were good portions and seasoned well! I usually prefer steak but honestly could not tell you which of the chicken and steak I preferred. My other friend got the cauliflower, and this was just as good as the meat as the cauliflower soaked up all the flavor. In the end, we got soft serve and it was perfect end to our meal. No complaints to service and eating at this place during sunset was so beautiful with the view of the water. We had a great experience at Laser Wolf. It has a modern/trendy vibe, great food, and friendly servers. I think it has a cool view, but we couldnt see it because they covered the entire outdoor area with clear plastic tarps that are hard to see through when it is raining. We went for a birthday and had a great time while in Brooklyn. read more
