SERVICE - located on Atlantic ave - large indoor space with plenty of seating for larger and smaller groups - recommend making a reservation as it can get busy even on a weekday - great service! the waiter was very accommodating when I asked for a substitution and even though my order had a miscommunication the manager came to our table to apologize - food served relatively quickly - ambiance good for a semi formal meal MENU - Palestinian and middle eastern food - vegetarian and vegan options available - average price FOOD - mezze filistini (10/10): hummus, babaghanoush, tabbouleh, tahini selata, muhammara, and labneh served as a shareable dips platter. This sounded so delicious I ordered it as my entree. I asked to swap out the labneh for falafel instead though since my falafel never came I got an extra order of muhammara. This with the unlimited pillowy soft pita is the ultimate combination to please any palette. The portion is generous and lasted me 2 meals. WOULD I GO BACK? Absolutely! Loved the food and the service.

Have lived near Al Badawi for a long while, and decided to walk in on a rainy Thursday night. The place was packed and had a lively and energetic vibe. It was fairly easy to get a walk in seat, but it felt lucky considering it seemed to be the only open table. It is a BYOB spot as they don't serve their own alcohol but there's a liquor store next door. There are so many options on the menu and I feel like we just scratched the surface. The portions are large! Between two of us I don't think we finished any one plate and we came hungry. My favorite was the lamb shank (SO tender and flavorful) and the zahir (a fried cauliflower dish with tahini and pomegranate molasses). I'd definitely come back to try more items.

Really solid Palestinian food and a solid spot for a large group. We were 7 adults and 2 kids so it was a large table. A little slow on service but the restaurant stayed busy while we were there. Overall I think the food is really delicious. As a table we shared two family style delicious. We also got the mezzo filistini and the hot appetizer mix. We all loved the halloumi but who doesn't love fried cheese? Definitely deserves a visit if you're in the neighborhood!

Three of us walked in at 1:45 pm on a Tuesday over the holiday break and there was no wait. Mezze Filistini was solid (some items were hit or miss) but the Fattat Jaj was amazing - definitely recommend that.

I hate that I don't remember the server's name, but I think it was Eric because my friend's name is Aerika, and I think they had a conversation about that. He was by himself and did a great job taking care of everyone. Now, the food is pricey, so this is a place you go to when you get paid. The vibes take you on a plane ride and landed in Palestine, with faux pomegranate trees and all. The bread and appetizer platter were great, so I highly recommend it! I tried the lamb shank and it wasn't bad, but for the price, it wasn't amazing to me. Sad to say, I loved my friend's chicken dish way more than my lamb shank, and if I go back, I'm gonna get the chicken kebab, hands down. Because the flavor was there!! I dream about it friend. I really do think this place is worth a visit for the vibes, so you can feel transported. I don't think I'll have the opportunity to go to Palestine :( This restaurant is perfect to go to, and transport yourself! Enjoy the vibes (it's chef's kiss). Yes, I would go back.

Went to Al Badawi last Saturday while visiting NY and had an incredible time. We ordered the chicken and steak skewers. They sat on a bed of rice that was incredibly flavorful - was some of the best I've ever had. Vibes were also amazing. Servers were incredibly kind and funny. Made the meal so much more enjoyable. Would love to come back here next time I'm in town!

I came here yesterday for lunch. I was very looking forward to trying Palestinian food and felt this would be a great experience. So they have two locations, one in Brooklyn and another in the city. Walking in, I do very much like the vibe as it is very inviting and the servers are super friendly and attentive. It was a large party and they served unlimited pita (freshly made) and olives and some type of yogurt dip. My wife has gluten allergy and it was nice that they brought out a small plate of sliced cucumbers and carrots at no extra charge. Given a large party, we shared a number of family style dishes. We got the Ouzi Chicken which is basically a 1/2 tender roasted chicken on a bed of rice and vegetables. It was an alright dish as I expected something a bit different and maybe more cut up. We also got the Ouzi lamb which is similar to the chicken but with lamb. That was really good and ohhhh so soft. We also got a shareable vegetable tray with bunch of different spices, hummus, and dips so that went well with the pitas. Now the disappointing dish was the Bamia as the menu said it is fresh baby okra cooked in a tomato stew. When we got it, it looks like beef chunks over some type of tomato base stew. We asked the server and he insisted it was a beef dish over baby okra. To us, it didn't look and taste like baby okra and nowhere on the menu indicated meat as a protein. So that dish while very tasty, was a bit of a let down in terms of expectations. One other comment is while I get these are family style dishes, the amount of rice served all across was a bit too plentiful. I wish they would offer options other than the rice throughout. Lastly, the place does offer BYOB with zero corking fee so that was great to see. Overall, we enjoyed the experience and would give this place a very strong 3 stars.

All ingredients are so fresh and yummy! Can't wait to go back with a big group of friends and try more different type of food! Service was good, nothing to complain about!

When you enter Al Badawi on a Saturday night the energy is busy, but I was quickly seated at the bar since I didn't have a reservation. Shortly after, my order was taken and staff checked in with me to ensure I was taken care of. The service was kind- took the time to explain the dishes, lack of truly spicy hot sauce and heavy use of dairy. Also, they charged my phone without issue. Now, the ouzi lamb was a huge portion- definitely meant to share between 2-4 if really hungry. A large serving of rice with almonds and minced meat with lamb chunks on top. All meals come with unlimited pita bread/ seasoning -oil dip and this dish had a side of yogurt. The flavors were mild, lamb was tender (but had a lot of fat/inedible pieces that I put to the side) and it was definitely fulfilling, but I wouldn't necessarily order again. I did enjoy the pita bread but didn't help with feeling full from eating a meal meant to share. Overall, I enjoyed my time and everyone appeared to be enjoying themselves too. A lot of families and large parties in a bright, Open space. You can see the open kitchen and kebab machines Too.

Wow what a gem. The Maklouba is my favorite off the menu but before you Jim in try the appetizers especially the creamy hummus The beef Ouzi has a hunk of beef that is SO tender and soft The seven cheese flat bread is very cheesy indeed A bit on the salty side Service is friendly and quick and courteous The ambiance is reminiscent of sitting in a olive tree grove with painted murals BYOB by the way and I think there may not be a corkage fee either !

I tried six Middle Eastern restaurants in NYC during my Spring break and Al Badawi is probably the best one. The restaurant is located in a busy street of Brooklyn which sits various kinds of Middle Eastern restaurants. This restaurant features Lebanese cuisine with a long menu having many vegetarian and feast dishes. I did a walk-in for lunch. Ordered Kousa Mashi and Fasoulia. Both dishes were new to me. The first one is basically rice stuffed squash cooked in tomato broth. The rice was very sticky, like the sticky rice in China, and had a great aromatic smell. The Faoulia is basically beef cubes stewed with tomato and green beans. The meat and veggie were very tender and delicious. Perfect to pair with their airy, chewy, homemade FREE pita. The serving size was so huge that I finished only half of it. I also like the vibe of this restaurant very much. While it looked a bit old-fashioned outside, the inside was bright, clean and modern. Moreover, they put lots of greens inside e.g. the branches and leaves on the ceiling. Staff was friendly. I will come back when I visit NYC again.

Awesome mediterranean eats in a laid-back atmosphere. I've come a few times with my partner, and it's one of our favorite BYOB restaurants in the city. This time around, we had the cheese cigars (paired with a delicious dipping sauce), along with Baba Ganoush which was delicious as always. We also got the mixed grill pizza, one of our favorites. And, the lamb shank, which had plenty of meat. A very hearty meal - looking forward to coming back and continuing to try more menu items!!

There's a couple of tables in a small store. Above the register there's a menu board resembling a train departures board, cycling through the options (it looks neat, but the printed out menu on your right is a lot more practical). There's a cooler with drinks and salads as you enter on the right. The sandwiches, however, are something special. On my first visit I went with something familiar, the Mean Streets (their Italian sandwich). The bread itself is fantastic (locally baked), and the toppings delicious as well (if I recall correctly the dressings are house made). Pleasantly, they also give you a paper plate with your order, which is a nice touch compared to eating off a wrapper. I enjoyed the first sandwich so much I came back the next day to try the No Sleep Til Gravesend. The sandwich is essentially a hot roast beef sandwich, with a jus on the sandwich reminiscent of a French Dip. Perfect on a cold, rainy day. Expensive though, about $55 dollars for a vegan 18-inch Margherita pie with 3 toppings. Was it worth it for the experience? Yes. Would I recommend to someone who wanted to try it at least once for a good dairy-free pizza? Absolutely, I couldn't even tell this was vegan cheese. Would I get it again? Maybe (?) once in a while as a treat with price being the only barrier. Service 5/5: This was great. I came here the other day to inquire about their vegan pizza and just wanted to try a slice. The person found his manager to talk to me about this. They were super friendly and explained to me the situation. This location only sold vegan options in full pies and their other DOP Fast Life location does sell vegan slices, but they didn't try to push me to buy. I came back today and the staff today were also very welcoming. Ambiance 5/5: Rustic red brick interior with warm lighting. It was definitely bustling on a Friday night. Food 5/5: Delicious pizza. I do regret that I ate it cold after driving 30 minutes to pick it up so I did not get the full experience. But the crust was still crunchy. I do wish the toppings were a little heavier but the tomato chunks in the sauce tasted very fresh. A very classic New York style pizza and I couldn't even tell it wasn't real cheese.
