I come here very often when i visit prospect park area and its a great experience. Lots of room in their outdoor backyard and some room inside too. CASH ONLY but theres an ATM inside. The food is very reasonably priced for NYC and for the large portions. This didnt feel like a normal, overpriced nyc meal which i fully appreciate!! The lambajin - 5/5. Suuuper crispy cracker like crust and the lamb was flavorful. The shawarma - 4:5. Have had better shawarmas with more spice and sauce to them but this was solid! The shawarma fries - 4/5. The feta cheese was a great addition. Fries were OK, wish a bit more crispy and fluffy. Shawarma meat on top was solid. Overall, absolutely worth it given the very prompt service, food comes out quick, food was tasty, and all for a very reasonable NYC price. Will be back!

Great outdoor seating options and very glad that their tahini sauce no longer contains dairy.

A wonderful experience at Zaytoons! This was my first time trying this kind of cuisine, and even though I wasn't familiar with it, the food was absolutely delicious. My partner and I were made to feel completely at home -- the warmth of the space and the people really stood out. Heads up: it's cash only, but our lovely server kindly let us know the moment we walked in, which we really appreciated. We ended up being a little short, but no stress -- there's an ATM right inside the restaurant! Special shoutout to the server with the tall shoes -- we didn't catch your name, but you made the experience even more memorable with your kindness and energy. Thank you so much, Zaytoons. We'll definitely be back!

Great spot. Got the lamb/beef kebab plate and the chicken shwarma wrap to go. Both were delicious and not crazy priced.

Get the fatoosh salad. It's a cucumber salad. Very fresh. I get it as a side dish. This place is good to go or to eat here

I recently went to Zaytoons for lunch and had a fantastic experience. We started off with the appetizer platter, where we got to choose our own spreads. Ultimately we went with, Hummus, Babaganoush, Labneh, Zaytoons mix and the Fatoosh salad. Everything was fresh. The one thing that I might have switched out is the Zaytoons mix because it was a little bit too spicy for my pallet. It came with a very thin bread, which was more than enough for the spreads. For our meals we got the Shawarma wraps and it was delicious. It was a generous size portion and I was able to take half for lunch the next day and it still tasted just as good. The prices were reasonable. I would definitely go back to try their other items on the menu.

Found this middle eastern gem "Zaytoons" as I was walking through prospect height in Brooklyn. There's nothing better than good halal, starting off with the Fatoosh Salad with crispy pita bitts giving it that extra crunch. This light but refreshing salad is easy to snack on as an appetizer. As for the main entree I had the Lamb Shawarma, I don't even know where to begin. The rice, hummus, mixed greens everything paired so well. Making it a very balanced dish. The lamb was tender, white sauce on top giving it that extra zesty flavors making it even better. I did get a taste of the chicken shawarma as well; just as good but something about the lamb that is just so delicious. I have to say it was my favorite. Portion is great size, you will definitely leave fulfilled without feeling sluggish. Side note this spot only accept cash payments.

Love! Me and my friend got meat platters chicken and lamb. along with beans as the appetizer. Great portions for the meal, super filling and well seasoned. I recommend sitting in the back garden for ambiance! Service was slow for it not being busy but no other complaints. Be prepared to pay in cash!

Zaytoons offers delicious Middle Eastern food in a relaxed atmosphere. Ordering is all online through an app and payment is CASH ONLY. Service was quick & friendly and the portions are very large.

Recently came here for lunch and got two platters. We almost ordered an extra side but was warned that the platter were big, they were right! The portions are generous. The platter combined perfectly grilled kafta kebabs, fragrant rice, creamy babaganoush, and a fresh salad that made a perfect combo! It comes with pita too. We were so full and had leftovers for another meal. If you're looking for a delicious affordable meal it is a must try! It's cash only!!

This overall wasn't a bad place. A friend and I got dinner here and we sat in the backdoor patio area where there was a good amount of seating. You order through a QR code, but it was a little confusing since the waiter can come by and take your order. It wasn't super straightforward, but I think the QR code system was a byproduct of the pandemic that stuck around. I split the Zaatar Bread with my friend and I'll say it was decent. Seasoning was herbal forward. It wasn't too oily at all. For myself, I got the Oven Roasted Chicken. It is a very generous portion, to the point where I felt like I needed to adjust my belt by a few notches. The chicken was cooked well, but the rice was too dry for my liking and almost bland. This is a cash only establishment, but they have an ATM inside. I don't always have cash, so this was a bit of an inconvenience.

Sat down thinking I'd do something light and ended up going all in. Ordered their Moroccan eggs with spicy tomato sauce and a side of their famous challah French toast. The eggs came out bubbling hot, perfectly spiced, with that slow-simmered depth that tastes like someone's been making it the same way for years. The bread they serve with it is dangerous... I kept telling myself "last bite" and then immediately going back in. But the French toast was the real moment. Crispy edges, soft inside, not overly eggy, and just the right amount of sweetness. I didn't even use syrup for half of it. Also grabbed a mint tea which felt like the perfect reset in between bites. Service was relaxed but attentive, and the whole place has this warm, slightly chaotic brunch energy that somehow works. My husband LOVED the burek, but then they totally changed it and now it's just gone. The food is still delicious, but unpredictable of what we can / will order. The new space is beautiful and open and airy, but sadly the service has dipped. This place used to be almost too fast, we were in and out and we consistently knew we could come here and get out in a very timely manner. But now I literally had to flag down our waitress and I still didn't get her attention, another waitress came over to help us get our check. We also didn't get checked on at all, luckily our food was good and right. The table next to us didn't get greeted for water or anything so they had to flag down the guy delivering food to get a waitress. The orzo on the side also balanced it out well. - Kale salad (5/5) This seemed like a simple salad but it was so yummy and dressed well. The pine nuts tasted good with this too! - Vegan fruit sundae (2/5) Sadly this was the only thing that missed the mark. Believe the hype…read more There's a reason this is one of Yelp's Top Places to Eat in the country. There's a reason it's very difficult to get a reservation. There's a reason Theodora is hyped up everywhere. It's because this restaurant is outstanding in basically every way. The space is bright and airy, with a BUSY open kitchen so you can watch the magic coming out of that wood-fired oven. The staff is so friendly, so knowledgeable, and so ready and willing to bring you whatever you want to eat and drink off of their fun and delicious menu. I brought a party of six in for my wife's birthday dinner at 5 pm (the only reservation I could snag). We sat at one of the large tables and drank cocktails (several of which arrived with sidecars, which no one is ever sad about). We drank wine. Too much wine, some might say. We ate tilefish ceviche, and whipped ricotta on sourdough, and nduja hummus, and black cod with a miso beurre blanc, and bluefin tuna crudo, and a little gem salad, and wood-fired broccoli rabe with tiny clams, and the honey habanero prawns, and the lamb on laffa bread, and the tuna collar special, and more. I would absolutely love to eat every single one of those things again: the prawns are phenomenal, no one has ever been sad about miso black cod, the ricotta toast is justifiably famous, the lamb is so gorgeous with its fun quartet of sauces, and the tuna collar was the most interestingly meaty fish I've ever had. But when I come back, I'm going to order all different dishes, because this kitchen is obviously crushing everything, and I can't wait to try more. Well, maybe I'll get the tilefish again. That lime vinaigrette with the grilled pineapple...incredible. The food is interesting, and fun, and colorful, and so very very tasty. And the hospitality is excellent. Everyone here is having fun, secure in the knowledge that they are doing amazing work by serving Brooklyn some of the best food and drink you can find. I think the staff even felt bad they were chasing us out toward the end of our stay here, especially since we were having so much fun, and spending so much money. But they brought us a round of shots to ease the pain, and I forgive them, because I know turning that table in time is what will keep them here. Basically, Theodora is doing everything right, and I'll be back as soon as I can get another reservation. Thanks all.

There is also an outdoor dining area, as well as a mid-sized dining room and we were seated near the window. Sawa serves Lebanese cuisine with some more modern dishes. Additionally, they have a mostly Lebanese wine list, which gave us an opportunity to try some new wines. We ordered both a red and a white for the table, and I was especially drawn to the red, as the red was served chilled, light-bodied, and very enjoyable. Nearly all of the reds and whites on the menu are from Lebanon, with just one red from Morocco, plus a couple sparkling options from Lebanon as well. We started with several dips for the table: hummus, baba ghannouj, and muhammara. The hummus was incredibly smooth, and the muhammara was especially flavorful with large pieces of walnut throughout. Everyone at the table receives fresh pita, and we ended up ordering a few more to share. We also shared the Brussels sprouts and the snap peas. The Brussels sprouts were rich and flavorful, but the snap peas really stood out. They were unlike anything I have tasted before, intensely mint, served with garlic mint labneh, and very delicious. For mains, we focused on lamb: two orders of the lamb ribs, two orders of the kafta, and two orders of the sfeeha. We probably over-ordered by about one entrée, but otherwise it was the right amount of food for six people. The lamb ribs were phenomenal, fall-off-the-bone tender and packed with flavor. The lamb pies were also very good and came with a delicious dipping sauce. The kafta was good, though not quite as memorable as the other lamb dishes, but still very satisfying. Service was attentive throughout the meal, and despite the number of dishes on the table, the staff handled everything smoothly. The table got a little crowded at times, but it was manageable. I would absolutely recommend Sawa, especially for anyone who enjoys trying something a little different.
