Darna Falafel - Darna falafel and side salad - Falafel Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

Everything we've tried on this menu has been absolutely delicious! The place is super tiny, and there may or may not be seating available for you, but they also do takeout so you can take your food to-go if they don't have seating. The team here is so friendly and they're good at giving you a heads up of how long orders will take. The food is a fantastic deal as you get a lot of it for the price, and it's always perfectly seasoned. What I've tried so far: - the falafel platter - the lamb platter - the steak sandwich - a number of juices and smoothies The falafel platter - INCREDIBLE deal for the amount of food. Only $11 for falafel, a salad, hummus, and pita. The falafel aren't dry and overall they're well seasoned. The only thing this is missing is their rice (which is amazing on its own). The lamb platter - I like this included super flavorful rice. Generous portion of meat. Definitely heavier than the falafel platter. Steak sandwich - SO good. They have some kind of secret sauce that ties everything together. Portion was smaller than the platters (easier to get through in one sitting) and this was probably the best thing I tried on the menu. It does say it comes with a side salad but we never got one. Would be better with a salad to balance out the steak+bread. Smoothies and juices - very fresh and tasty. Overall, we're very happy we found this cute neighborhood falafel spot :) read more

Not many tables to sit down, but so yummy here!! The portion sizes here are huge as I was not able to finish my plate. They were giving out samples of their house made tea which was really yummy and I just had to order one to drink more. They knew what they were doing with that tactic ;D T Good for a quick bite! There was always a line/people waiting to get seated while dining. When the weather is nice, it would be good for dining outdoor as well! read more

They were offering samples of the mint tea. It was very good. I wish I ordered that instead of the falafel wrap. The wrap wasn't bad but the falafel was overpowered by mushrooms and peppers. Next time I'll try something else. read more

Tiny cute middle eastern cafe with a few vegetarian options. Service was ok and food was not great. The grape leaves were fine but the falafel was awful. Very bitter. Maybe I had too much expectations but got disappointed. read more

Simply the best! I love everything from their skirt steak sandwiches to their chicken kifta. They have delicious lentil soup in season. I'm not a smoothie person but their look amazing. Love the service with a smile. Don't miss the minted tea! Chill later back vibe read more

So excited I got to stop by- hands down one of the best gyros I've had in awhile. If you're in the mood for Middle Eastern dishes then I highly recommend checking them out. They have a mixture of indoor and outdoor. Their menu is a mix of Middle Eastern and American classics. They have vegan options in addition to a nice selection of smoothies and juices. Excited to explore more of their menu. read more

Can't understate how small this spot is. We dined in, and at several points were elbow to elbow with folks dining in, ordering, picking up, etc and this was at 4:30 on a Sunday. But they are rightfully busy because the place is great! Had it not been 90 degrees out, we would have taken it to a local park or eaten outside. The steak pita special was awesome, nice double crisped fries, and the chicken platter was filling. A great meal for two adults and a child for $40 after tip. read more

My friend and I stopped by for a quick lunch. The food was good for the price but nothing to write home about. The storefront is modest and the interior has only two tables. There is also four more tables outside but there aren't any heaters. Since it was a little warm inside, we opted to sit outside and the cashier brought the food to us when it was ready. There wasn't much of a service experience and kinda felt more like a grab and go kind of place. The Falafel Salad was decent and the falafel in the salad was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The chicken platter was hearty and came with chicken, rice, side salad, hummus, and pita. It was a pretty size-able portion and can definitely be shared by two people. The hummus on the plate was really good and smooth. Not a bad place to pick up a lunch platter or a salad if you're in the area. But not memorable enough for me to trek back to the neighborhood for more. read more

I pass by this spot all the time in the neighborhood and always loved all the cute tables setup outside, so decided to finally check it out for lunch. You order first inside and then your food will be brought out to you. I ordered the Lamb Gyro ($10.95) and Clean Green Juice ($6.50) while the boyfriend got the Chicken Platter ($14.95) and Mint Tea. There are only 5 tables outside, mostly only for 2 people which are seated very closely to each other. We waited a bit until a table opened up for us. The lamb gyro was good, but very messy to eat. I wish there was a sauce for this, so I had to steal some of the boyfriend's tzatziki sauce that was a bit watered down. I wasn't really into the salad either, but managed to finish it. The meal is a good healthy option that is pretty affordable overall. The one thing that really threw me off with the green juice. Oh my god, it was super tart and sour. I was struggling to drink this and ended up taking it home to water it down and add sweetness. It was practically undrinkable, so fair warning if you choose that juice. read more

Placed an order through Uber Eats and Darna left off two major items in the order and when called about it, told me to call Uber for a refund. Refused to deliver the two missing items, told no manager on premises and that he was new so oops - sorry. I will never order from here again. read more

Cute cafe for sandwiches and fresh made juices and smoothies. My sandwich came with a side salad. I love that there was enough tahini in the sandwich and didn't need to ask for extra. The service was really good. I'd definitely come back! read more

Love this place, but would appreciate if they're going to just swap out my skirt steak sandwich bread with a wrap because they've run out of bread, that they'd tell me. Try calling and letting them know for future clients, but couldn't get through on the phone so I guess I'll leave the reminder here. read more

The kifta wrap is absolutely bomb, I've had the shawarma as well but not nearly as good in comparison. Gotta be that chipotle mayo

Man what an incredible place. It is nondescript and yet it's one of the best falafel's in the city. The menu is vast and has cool offerings like catfish on a wrap. The star of this show is obviously the falafel. The spicing and the seasonings are exactly what they should be. Even nicer is that they give you a huge amount of falafel with it less filler than other places do. No wonder why the lines here are constantly flowing. I'd go back. read more

Cute local venue that freshly makes your order! They also have a few dine in table inside and in front of the store. I wouldn't recommend planning a big together, as there are only three -2 people tables inside and similar outside. Flavours were spot on! Would highly recommend take out! read more

cute little spot in Cobble Hill to grab a quick bite to eat. I got the falafel wrap, and it was honestly very unique. As a vegetarian I usually get falafel wraps at middle eastern spots, and I haven't had one quite like the one at Darna! They had mushrooms, and caramelized onions and red peppers in the wrap as well, which I thought was a great touch. They also used a whole wheat wrap rather than a pita, and the sauce they put in it was slightly different than the usual tzatziki. Overall, it was a great lunch and a welcome change up to the falafel wrap. read more

Love darna! Lamb platter is my go to! Sometimes lambs is a little to crispy though, but I'll always go back.

I have passed by this place so many times and just haven't gone in. But the other day that changed. Super cool guy working behind the counter. They were giving out free samples of their mint iced tea, one sip was enough to convince me to get a full one. Sweet but not overly so with a simply lovely mint flavor. Also went for the lamb gyro and it hit the spot. Delicious, generous portion of lamb with all the veggies and sauces one needs to have your hands super messy but your tummy super happy! read more

I consider myself a bit of a falafel snob and this is truly as good as I've had! Great value for the prices and they even bring the food out to your table. Perfect spot for a delicious affordable lunch! read more

The falafel is super crispy on the outside and fluffy on the outside. The spinach pie is flavorful and soft. The mint tea is refreshing and cool. The only thing I did not like was the side salad and the dressing which tasted like bottled Italian dressing. The inside is small, but there are a few really cute tables outside with umbrellas to protect you from the sun. The staff is really friendly and offered free samples of mint tea when I visited yesterday 07/06/2021. There is a slight discount if you use cash. Would definitely come back to Darna if I was in the area and craving mediterranean. read more

The food is very delicious. But the wait time has become extreme. We arrived at 10:50am and put our order in. We received our order around noon. That's insane to me (it wasn't a take out we were waiting to eat it there). read more

What a nice find! Shafiq very hospitable. And very accommodating! Food was delicious and reasonable

I love this place so much. The food, the smoothies, the juices, the service!!! Everything about this places makes my day. I'm obsessed with the sweet kale juice (pineapple, kale, apple + definitely add the lemon & ginger), but it's hard to go wrong with any of the juices and smoothies. The falafel is v good, and hummus is *chefs kiss*. One day I'll encourage myself to get the baklava. Come here if you're looking for some solid Mediterranean food and the nicest people. read more

Went for the high review on yelp however this is truly the worst Middle East food we have ever had. Ordered three orders of lamb, steak and chicken platter and waited for about 35 min for the order. The lamb and steak is extremely dry and and burnt. The chicken is dry and has no flavor. Rice is also dry as hell with very little flavor... pitta bread is also super dry and stiff.. never had a platter of everything tastes bad:( read more

This platter was AMAZING. I searched up a halal restaurant in the neighborhood while I was getting my car done and Darna popped up. I am glad I gave it a shot because everything was delicious. The steak was well seasoned and the rice a little plain so they balanced out perfectly. Salad and hummus was fresh. Prices also great. Will definitely be coming back again! read more

Darna Falafel - Steak Plattter - Falafel Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

Small neighborhood spot with great food. Perfect lunch spot. Love the lentil soup and stuffed grape-leaves.

So, I eat a lot of mediterranean food so this review is coming from a more seasoned palate. So I'll start with the good and then move on to what I think could be improved. I got the chicken platter and it certainly came with a lot of food so I can't complain about the portion size. There was a ton of rice topped with a generous amount of grilled chicken and it came with a big smear of hummus, some salad, and tzatziki sauce. The platter looked great and I definitely left full. However I do think the chicken itself and the hummus lacked seasoning. The chicken really needed salt and could've had a better spice profile (I'm not an expert but maybe some cumin, turmeric, garlic and onion powder might kick up the flavor a bit). The hummus was pretty lack luster, really just tasted like chickpeas blended with tahini which is pretty bare bones. If you've never had mediterranean food than this place will probably satisfy your craving, but if you know good mediterranean food, it's got a ways to go! read more

Portions are generous and their falafel wrap is absolutely the best. We get this every time and come by every week to get our craving satisfied. If you get the wrap tho, make sure you have some hummus on hand! read more

DECENT ! The food was decent I will come back maybe some time soon maybe summer time since the lines were long

Best Mediterranean food in the neighbourhood, hands down. Falafel and beef sandwich were amazing.

Ordered pickup from here and food is so bomb. I hope their Lamb Platter pricing wasn't a mistake because it was super worth for its cost. Definitely a filling meal. I also got a side of the falafels - which were unfortunately a bit dry and a bit hard (overcooked?). I've passed by the place many times while walking my dog and I definitely will come back to eat-in however! read more

We got the falafel wrap sandwich and the roasted vegetable sandwich. The vegetable sandwich was really great. I would def order it again. The sauce in it was tasty and perfect with mushrooms and roasted peppers. The falafel wrap sandwich wasn't my favorite- the falafel balls were good but there wasn't enough sauce and I didn't like the roasted peppers in this, but oddly I did like them in the vegetable sandwich. Go figure (lol) no one said this was gonna make sense. The falafel wrap sandwich is different than the darna falafel sandwich fyi, and I might try that next time. We had ordered the baklava but they had run out by 7pm so they promptly removed that from our seamless order (which was appreciated). read more

I was thoroughly satisfied with my Darna Falafel experience. Service was prompt, attentive, helpful, and the food was amazing. I ordered the Balady Dijaj Sandwich. The pita sandwich was generously loaded with olives, chicken, feta cheese, tomato, romaine, Italian dressing, and hummus--all of which was very fresh. The sandwich comes with a complimentary salad but they were out by the time that I placed my order so they offered me substitute of french fries. Although there's no indoor dining, there's outdoor seating on the chill but lively Court Street. Prices are relatively reasonable and they offer discount if paying with cash. read more
