Everything we've tried on this menu has been absolutely delicious! The place is super tiny, and there may or may not be seating available for you, but they also do takeout so you can take your food to-go if they don't have seating. The team here is so friendly and they're good at giving you a heads up of how long orders will take. The food is a fantastic deal as you get a lot of it for the price, and it's always perfectly seasoned. What I've tried so far: - the falafel platter - the lamb platter - the steak sandwich - a number of juices and smoothies The falafel platter - INCREDIBLE deal for the amount of food. Only $11 for falafel, a salad, hummus, and pita. The falafel aren't dry and overall they're well seasoned. The only thing this is missing is their rice (which is amazing on its own). The lamb platter - I like this included super flavorful rice. Generous portion of meat. Definitely heavier than the falafel platter. Steak sandwich - SO good. They have some kind of secret sauce that ties everything together. Portion was smaller than the platters (easier to get through in one sitting) and this was probably the best thing I tried on the menu. It does say it comes with a side salad but we never got one. Can't understate how small this spot is. We dined in, and at several points were elbow to elbow with folks dining in, ordering, picking up, etc and this was at 4:30 on a Sunday. But they are rightfully busy because the place is great! Had it not been 90 degrees out, we would have taken it to a local park or eaten outside. I pass by this spot all the time in the neighborhood and always loved all the cute tables setup outside, so decided to finally check it out for lunch. You order first inside and then your food will be brought out to you. I ordered the Lamb Gyro ($10.95) and Clean Green Juice ($6.50) while the boyfriend got the Chicken Platter ($14.95) and Mint Tea. There are only 5 tables outside, mostly only for 2 people which are seated very closely to each other. We waited a bit until a table opened up for us. The lamb gyro was good, but very messy to eat. I wish there was a sauce for this, so I had to steal some of the boyfriend's tzatziki sauce that was a bit watered down. I wasn't really into the salad either, but managed to finish it. The meal is a good healthy option that is pretty affordable overall. The one thing that really threw me off with the green juice. Oh my god, it was super tart and sour. I was struggling to drink this and ended up taking it home to water it down and add sweetness. It was practically undrinkable, so fair warning if you choose that juice. read more

Man what an incredible place. It is nondescript and yet it's one of the best falafel's in the city. The menu is vast and has cool offerings like catfish on a wrap. The star of this show is obviously the falafel. The spicing and the seasonings are exactly what they should be. cute little spot in Cobble Hill to grab a quick bite to eat. I got the falafel wrap, and it was honestly very unique. As a vegetarian I usually get falafel wraps at middle eastern spots, and I haven't had one quite like the one at Darna! They had mushrooms, and caramelized onions and red peppers in the wrap as well, which I thought was a great touch. They also used a whole wheat wrap rather than a pita, and the sauce they put in it was slightly different than the usual tzatziki. The falafel is super crispy on the outside and fluffy on the outside. The spinach pie is flavorful and soft. The mint tea is refreshing and cool. The only thing I did not like was the side salad and the dressing which tasted like bottled Italian dressing. So, I eat a lot of mediterranean food so this review is coming from a more seasoned palate. So I'll start with the good and then move on to what I think could be improved. I got the chicken platter and it certainly came with a lot of food so I can't complain about the portion size. There was a ton of rice topped with a generous amount of grilled chicken and it came with a big smear of hummus, some salad, and tzatziki sauce. The platter looked great and I definitely left full. However I do think the chicken itself and the hummus lacked seasoning. The chicken really needed salt and could've had a better spice profile (I'm not an expert but maybe some cumin, turmeric, garlic and onion powder might kick up the flavor a bit). The hummus was pretty lack luster, really just tasted like chickpeas blended with tahini which is pretty bare bones. If you've never had mediterranean food than this place will probably satisfy your craving, but if you know good mediterranean food, it's got a ways to go! read more

We got the falafel wrap sandwich and the roasted vegetable sandwich. The vegetable sandwich was really great. I would def order it again. The sauce in it was tasty and perfect with mushrooms and roasted peppers. The falafel wrap sandwich wasn't my favorite- the falafel balls were good but there wasn't enough sauce and I didn't like the roasted peppers in this, but oddly I did like them in the vegetable sandwich. Go figure (lol) no one said this was gonna make sense. The falafel wrap sandwich is different than the darna falafel sandwich fyi, and I might try that next time. The pita sandwich was generously loaded with olives, chicken, feta cheese, tomato, romaine, Italian dressing, and hummus--all of which was very fresh. The sandwich comes with a complimentary salad but they were out by the time that I placed my order so they offered me substitute of french fries. First and foremost, the food is awesome. The falafel is quite good, as it should be when it's up there in the name. However, I think the chicken kifta sandwich is even better. Spiced chicken, lettuce, tomato, fries, tzatziki AND chipotle mayo in a wrap? I'll never say no. It is very, very tasty, and the fries give it a nice body. The best thing I've eaten here so far though? The Chicken BLT. Just do yourself a favor and get this absolute bomb of flavor. And all the sandwiches come with a nice little salad (black olives!) that makes you feel slightly healthy. They make a surprising variety of items as well: Caesar salads, Cobb salads, sides, stuffed grape leaves, Belgian fries...even a couple bagels.
