It was only closed temporarily and so happy they are back in business! We get takeout every week and Rakan and the chef are delight! Best customer service ever and they follow all my dietary restrictions! We love love this place and hope it will always be successful. Cannot imagine nyc without it!

    Veggie Combo

I had the veggie combo, which came with hummus, baba ghanoush, a salad, and mushakal. There's also self-serve tea included with every meal. The flavors were all great - the dips were fresh and creamy, the bread was light and fluffy, and the mushakhal was warm and hearty. It's an enormous amount of food for $32 after tax and tip. Plus it's open 24 hours, so supremely convenient.

Saturday night dinner; not crowded at all, tons of seating, spacious and clean; first time at this restaurant; the waitress was neither helpful nor enthusiastic when we inquired about recommendations or popular dishes- guess she was tired. We ordered the lamb haneeth and chicken fahsa; both were excellent. Rice and flatbread weee good. Lamb broth that came part of the entrees was delicious. No complaints.

Huge flatbread included; Foul Moudammas; and 1/2 Kebsa Lamb (everything is enough for 3 people).

Excellent food. Probably one of the best ful medames (seasoned fava beans) I've ever had. Generous portions and fantastic spice combinations on Mediterranean dishes you thought you knew. Staff is kind and knowledgeable. Must try.

Hummus and falafel Chicken Ghallaba Vegetable and Egg Omelet

This was my first time trying Yemen cuisine and it was super flavorful! The large lavash bread that came with the meal was soft and delicious, similar to naan. The egg dish was super flavorful and packed with veggies. The chicken was also great and great flavors. You can tell the hummus is homemade and they top it off with great quality EVOO. Highly recommend this spot for some flavorful dishes.

Mulikhia with Lamb. Or Molukhyah. Gloopy tasty vegetarian stew made from Jute's Mallow topped with haneeth lamb. Massive

It hard to review this place and not compare it to the upstairs more popular Yemen Cafe. The ladder has an actual lunch menu but is more pricey. The former or this place first off starts with better bread but has slightly worse soup. Personally I find the lamb haneeth to be barely worse here but I prefer the fahtah here. The spices are a bit better here. The mulikhai is a gloopy dish which is quite tasty and it has a good amount of lamb also unless you get the appetizer version. In terms of desser, the fatah with dates are fine but a lot worse than the one upstairs as I didn't think the texture was merged enough. If you want something lighter, get dessert across the street from Damascus (no not the overpriced Sahadi's) or Diwan next door (which also has very good Yemeni coffee/tea) or Malko Karkanni Bros for a pastry or two. Basically going to give this around the same rating as the place upstairs. You pay a little bit less here but there's pros and cons to both. I slightly prefer here but barely. 4.1.

I was excited to try Hadramout given what seemed to be an availability of more vegetarian options than the better-known Yemen Cafe on Atlantic Avenue. Our actual dining experience was mixed by dish. The highlights were the awe-inspiring flatbread - truly larger than your face - and the moulikhia, a well-spiced green vegetable stew which I have often seen on Egyptian menus but never encountered in other contexts. The combination of these two was excellent, even if rice might serve as a more suitable vehicle for moulikhia, generally speaking. Less successful was the fassoulia with hummus, a medley of kidney beans and caramelized onions that here was too dry and lacking in flavor. I had had much better versions of this in the Yemeni section of Hamtramck in Michigan. The cheese and honey platter was also mediocre, without any noteworthy characteristics.

    Lamb broth (delivery)

Having thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Yemen Cafe, my partner and I ordered delivery from Hadramout to try more Yemeni cuisine. I believe the name of the restaurant refers to the east-central region, on the Gulf of Aden, in Yemen. In the absence of being able to travel there pre- and during the pandemic to explore the cuisine and culture first-hand, trying Hadramout Restaurant's dishes seemed to be the best alternative. We ordered the lamb haneeth and the chicken ghallaba. Both came with a side salad, lamb broth, tandoor bread, and two sauces (one spicy, the other sweeter). The lamb haneeth was the indubitable winner. The slow-roasted lamb was so tender on the inside while well-spiced on the outside. Paired with the tandoor bread and lamb broth, this was splendid. I was less enthusiastic about the chicken ghallaba, which did not have a strong curry flavor. Perhaps I ordered poorly and should have opted for another chicken dish, either roasted or grilled. The diced chunks probably didn't highlight the best of Hadramout's technique or spice mixtures. Overall, we were able to get 1.5 meals out of the two entrees for two people. The bread was more than enough for two meals. I'm sure our meals would have been superior eaten fresh at the restaurant, but we were still glad to have experienced them, especially the lamb and tandoor breads, nevertheless.

The gem i found from a recommendation of a friend. the well maintained establishment welcomed us in very openly. Our waitress Inni was delightful. She provided excellent service and the food came out with haste. the prices were afforadable and the Tea that was complimentary is so tasty they should bottle it up and sell it. i really recommend checking this spot . it's 24 hours! the flavor is worth any trip. thank you Inni.

Soup comes along with the meal.

MONEY · $32.00 Aqda Lamb (A flavorsome mixture of mashed haneeth lamb, and a vegetable dish, mushakal (potatoes, okra, eggplant, and squash), mixed with caramelized onions and scallions. Served with a Large Fresh Tandoori Rashoosh Flat-Bread. POSITIVE · They're open 24-7. · Authentic Yemenese food. · This dish was perfect to split between two people · The people were so nice. NEGATIVE · N/a IMPRESSION · Oh my f-ing goodness--this place was so awesome. We went twice in one day. After picking up food from another restaurant who had closed their doors to us, we decided to go to the closest restaurant to ask to see if they'd seat us if we bought an appetizer. The first place rejected us; Hadramout Restaurant did not!

This was the best Yemeni food I've ever had & possibly one of the best meals I ate on my whole trip through New York and Brooklyn. The waiter, Khalid was so kind and helpful. The cook is really Yemeni and so sweet- let me peek in the kitchen. If I'm ever in the Area again, this will be a must-stop10/10. We tried a lot of Middle Eastern food and I'm so glad we came here before we went home!!

Walking through, you get a nice view of the kitchen area, seeing where the magic happens: an exciting way to start the experience! My group decided to share a few things, all of which were delicious. The vegetable pizza (or "pitza" as they style it) was a huge hit: we loved the crust, with its resonant notes of olive oil, and the mozzarella cheese could not have been fresher. The olives and peppers delightfully balanced the cheese and tomatoes, making for an irresistible flavor profile and mouthfeel. Seriously, do not underestimate this formidable pie! The chicken platter came loaded with grilled chicken, hummus, and salad, along with warm, freshly baked pita. Perfect option for the person that wants to take their time sampling a variety of foods. The leg of lamb sandwich, meanwhile, is ready to be consumed at whatever pace you deem fit: indeed, one of our party devoured it voraciously, no crumbs left behind. And finally, we also worked our way through the large feta salad, which turns out to actually be an enormous platter of crumbled feta with some diced tomatoes on top. Don't order this expecting a leafy green salad, it's all cheese! BUT, do order it so that you can add some tangy feta to everything else on the table. It really makes the flavors pop. My first impression of Bedouin Tent was excellent. Service was great and the prices are very fair for the area. Whether you're seeking a more traditional Mediterranean meal or something with a fusion twist, this is an awesome spot to consider.

The restaurant was pretty spacious with some outdoor seating as well. We were greeted and seated right away. We ordered the small babaganoush, hummus, and 3 sandwiches. The small dips were actually a fairly large portion, we didn't finish either. The sandwiches however were a bit on the smaller size, but they were still tasty! The pricing was fairly reasonable, and the ambiance made for a lovely dinner. I'd definitely come back here if I'm back in the area!

The team here is so friendly and they're good at giving you a heads up of how long orders will take. The food is a fantastic deal as you get a lot of it for the price, and it's always perfectly seasoned. What I've tried so far: - the falafel platter - the lamb platter - the steak sandwich - a number of juices and smoothies The falafel platter - INCREDIBLE deal for the amount of food. Only $11 for falafel, a salad, hummus, and pita. The falafel aren't dry and overall they're well seasoned. The only thing this is missing is their rice (which is amazing on its own). The lamb platter - I like this included super flavorful rice. Generous portion of meat. Definitely heavier than the falafel platter. Steak sandwich - SO good. They have some kind of secret sauce that ties everything together. Portion was smaller than the platters (easier to get through in one sitting) and this was probably the best thing I tried on the menu. It does say it comes with a side salad but we never got one. Would be better with a salad to balance out the steak+bread. Smoothies and juices - very fresh and tasty. Overall, we're very happy we found this cute neighborhood falafel spot :)

We live in Jersey and come to Brooklyn every year to get our taxes done. Its become a tradition to go to Mazzat after our tax appt. In all these years not only have we never had a bad meal, but the meal has always been exceptional! Today it was just my wife and I. Our two sons had other plans. Even though it was just us two, we ordered like there were four. We started off with drinks. My wife had the Mango Sunrise and I had a Mojito. Carlos, who does a little bit of everything at Mazzat recommended it and it was the best Mojito I've ever had! Well balanced, the mint stood out and the agave gave it just the right touch of sweetness. Mazzat is a place where food is meant to be shared so we ordered multiple apps and two entrees. We got hummus, merguez (lamb sausage), garlic shrimp and chicken cigars, which you can also order with lamb. All of it came with a basket of soft pita with crispy pita chips added. The hummus has the consistency of Gelato; smooth with the slightest of lemon flavor, drizzled with olive oil and paired perfectly with the pita. Chicken cigars come with an avocado crema that complements the smoky flavor of the chicken inside. Shrimp was fantastic and the merguez equally so. Both come bathed in olive oil and spices, perfect for dipping. My wife had shakshuka because she's a big tomato fan and was very happy with her choice. I got the half marinated chicken which comes with bulghur rice, a side salad and a garlic dipping sauce. The chicken had a deep smoky grilled taste that permeates the meat. It didnt need the dipping sauce but the dipping sauce was a great partner nonetheless. The bulghur rice deserves it's own paragraph to describe it but I'll keep it to buttery, soft and fluffy and unbelievably delicious! We also ordered a fattoush salad which is as good as it gets as far as salads go. We consider Mazzat our favorite restaurant pound for pound. When it comes to food quality, quantity, value, freshness, service and atmosphere, you'll be hard pressed to get any better than Mazzat. Apologies for the long read but I feel you have to give a restaurant like Mazzat it's kudos and that just won't happen thoroughly in a one paragraph review.
