The food was pretty decent, definitely on the expensive side. I think it would probably be better to dine in. The packaging for the shrimp & grits was a bit odd for delivery and much too large. They give you 4 shrimp and I think it should definitely be 5 based on the size of them. Overall everything was decent except for the Iced Black Tea. I could have made 6 ice teas with the strength of the one I brought.

First, I love a place where you can feel relaxed while enjoying a hearty meal. This restaurant was absolutely amazing and I have to shoutout the staff and owner for showing us hospitality and warmth. Now, I did remove 1 star because when our original waitress ended her shift, she informed us that someone else would be available to support. That support was hard to locate and we waited a little longer than we expected for basic services to help close out our meal. I would say that while the staff was friendly, maybe a little more attentiveness would help with the flow of service. And while that removes 1 star, this place is still 4 stars amazing! First, the rich spices and herbs made every bite of my dish, memorable. I ordered the creamiest shrimp and grits, topped with diced mushrooms, peppers, and a few sauces. Disclaimer: provided the size of the dish, the shrimps were a little small and few in quantity, but the flavor made every bite worth the journey. I mean, the grits were the BEST I've had in a long time and the shrimps were seasoned to perfection. We enjoyed some mimosas, a little too sugary, but nothing to complain about. Overall, I had such an enjoyable time and look forward to visiting again!

The service was excellent! I loved The Server's personality; she was very sweet and patient with me. The food was definitely worth the wait. As a kale lover, I really enjoyed my salad. Mac & cheese was also enjoyable. I highly recommend this place for a quick bite to eat.

Always a great time at Zaca. I love the French toast and shrimp + grits. Service is quick and personable (Vanessa is so sweet). They also have wifi if you need to get work done. I'm always looking for spiritual spots, too -- the ancestral decor and traditional masks make the space feel so homey. Also, Zaca's prices really can't be beat -- $12-$14 for great food. Shrimp + grits were $22.

Love supporting authentically black-owned restaurants. There was no doubt of the African ancestry because there were tapestries, sculptures & paintings on the ceilings and walls. You feel transported, but in a laid-back, not trying, homey type of way. The menu is pretty much all of your American favorites (French toast, sandwiches, salads & a few large plates). I was expecting some more African dishes as they had Burkina Faso flags throughout. The waitress was new and a bit shy, but we didn't mind as the manager walked her through everything & was still kind/gracious towards us. The place was pretty empty on a Wednesday (2 people came in late) & we almost passed by because it looks like a grab and go. Panini & salad run of the mill good & linguini with sweet sauce was a nice surprise. I'd return for a lowkey, no frills Subday brunch.

Zaca is a nice chill local spot. I stopped by to try the salmon burger. I had the turkey burger yesterday so I wanted to try something different today. I've yet to dine in, and usually get takeout... I was sad to see that they got a C rating, but looking from the takeout window into the kitchen, I could see why. The Zaca bakery next door is much more presentable.

Was in the area and stopped for a bite to eat. The location was bustling for a Sunday afternoon. I got the salmon bugger with fries and a side of mac and cheese. All items were delicious. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Service was pretty quick after ordering and the waitress was helpful. The inside had a chill vibe.

Loved the meal one of the best grit dishes I've had in Brooklyn. The seating is limited so seating may depend but if you can...go! A fantastic meal and always consistent!

Ate here for dinner on a semi-whim, and I really enjoyed it! They had a wide variety of dishes / paninis / mains / sides all fairly reasonably priced It was a peaceful, warm environment. I got the Atlantic salmon with beets and mash potatoes as the sides, and it tasted very fresh, nicely seasoned etc. also shared a Cobb salad, which ended up being a very generous portion with the perfect amount of dressing and produce crispness. I hate a soggy salad. And dressing can be very repulsive to me. But this was very flavorful, inoffensive salad, which I am always on the look for. The service was great, very attentive, very kind. Want to come back!

When it was all said and done, I can say the food is okay, but the service and ambiance is what makes for a fun visit. I ordered a fried chicken with a waffle and it was fair. The chicken was moist and had a good fry, but the waffle was very sweet and possibly undercooked. The fruit it was served with was not fresh either. Sitting on a pillow and the bubbly yet pretty bartender was a nice touch. I also liked the eclectic music. Unfortunately none of it stayed down, so as a result I am knocking the rating a little. The French-American cuisine is apparent here, but feels so out of character for the neighborhood. While fun, I likely will not return.

We got there a few mins after they open stood outside maybe 5 mins or so to give them time to set up but when we went in they already had a few people in there so didn't feel bad. The place is small but no issues with that I like cozy ambiance styles. Food was really good on my end and my brother got the avocado toast with pork sausage on side look really tasty I got the French toast that had a different take on them with the bread I loved!! For a simple 3 items(Caramelized apples, bananas and blueberries)with no fluff or wild amounts of sugar it was a 10/10.My side order of eggs (overease) was really good as well did perfectly tasted. Also loved my organic breakfast blend tea, love that they carry Atlantic salmon not farm raised, love that they have real Honey and Maple syrup can't major foodie points for that. so

French Toast and The Works Bagel

Great food, cool and fun ambiance, lowkey and small dining spot. Great for brunch. Service was amazing, each time I've come there's been only one server but she's incredible. Seems to get crowded on the weekend. Would definitely recommend checking out

High ceilings, soft lighting, and just enough energy in the room to make it feel lively without being chaotic. It works equally well for a date, a dinner with friends, or even a solo meal at the bar. Food-wise, everything felt intentional. The menu leans classic French, but it doesn't feel heavy or outdated. The roast chicken is the obvious move for a reason. It's simple, but perfectly done. The kind of dish that makes you realize how good something basic can be when executed right. The steak frites were also solid, and the sauces across the board stood out more than expected. Service was polished but not stiff. They know what they're doing, but it never feels rehearsed or overbearing. If I had to nitpick, it's not cheap, and portions aren't massive, but you're not really coming here for volume anyway. It's more about the overall experience. Overall, Le Crocodile hits that balance of being a "nice night out" spot without feeling like a production. Definitely somewhere I'd come back to.

Based on the other reviews perhaps it was an off night in the kitchen, but I likely wouldn't go back. Ambiance is intimate and cozy. Great local neighborhood vibes. Definitely a spot I could see coming by on a weeknight if you live around the area. Food, overall the food lacked flavor and at times was overcooked or undercooked. I think there are better spots if you live within your walking distance and I definitely wouldn't travel out of my way here unfortunately. I ordered: -French Onion Soup: looked delish and had nice flavor, but it was actually under seasoned. Needed more salt which is saying a lot for French onion soup. -Zucchini Pancakes: skip. This was raw and we had to send it back. Kitchen remade it and it was still questionable. Quite mushy and just not very flavorful. -Mini Moules (mussels): this was ok. I thought it was under seasoned. -French Fries: perfection. Super crispy, not greasy. -Chicken Cordon Bleu: it looked good, but sadly it was really under seasoned. And the chicken seemed overcooked and was quite dry despite the amount of sauce on it. -Steak Frites: the person enjoyed this. Liked the sauce a lot. We enjoyed the desserts a lot: chocolate soufflé (on the smaller side) and San Sebastián cheesecake.

Highlights (would order again): - Foie gras canelé - $15 each so yes, it's pricey for the size, but it's genuinely delicious. Rich foie flavor with a surprise sweetness that totally works and makes it feel more like a savory-dessert bite than a standard foie app. - Duck pithivier - basically "beef Wellington but with duck," with that flaky pastry moment and deep, cozy flavor. - Desserts: the "canard au citron" lemon meringue is almost too cute to eat (there's a little duck!) and it was my favorite dessert of the night: bright, citrusy, and not too heavy. The yuzu frozen yogurt was clean and refreshing, and the chocolate brownie pie hits the rich/chocolate craving perfectly. Also tried: - Crab crepe - my friend described it as a "Caesar salad wrap with a soggy tortilla in the best way," which was weirdly accurate. Tasty, but texturally soft (know what you're getting). - Honeynut squash bombolini - slightly sweet from the squash, fun little bite. - Pappardelle + agnolotti - comforting, saucy pasta energy (and great for sharing). - Colorado lamb - the only real miss for me: lamb itself was a bit salty, though the sides/sauce situation was delicious. Overall: inventive without being fussy, and everything feels very intentional. Portions are on the smaller/fine-dining side and the prices add up fast, but the execution is strong and the dessert game is elite. I'd come back for the duck pithivier + lemon duck dessert combo alone. They're also known for their duck which is a massive portion for $120 or $150 (I forgot the price) - have heard this is incredible so will need to come back to try that as well.
