Side Mexican Rice
Raia S.

I ordered the huevos rancheros, the flavor was good and the tortilla was crispy (which almost never happens with takeout), the eggs were cooked nicely over easy. It comes with a side of rice which is great. Overall a tasty dish! The avocado wasn't quite ripe so it was a little bitter unfortunately, and I didn't really understand the cubes of cheese in the dish, not sure they worked. I would come back but possibly try something else.

Awesome Cafe de Olla & Churros!

I love, love, love this cute breakfast restaurant in Brooklyn with its delicious Mexican food and friendly staff! It is very accessible by subway if you get off at the station stop near Halsey Street. I walked in and the staff behind the counter welcomed me with, "Hola!" Then, I sat down and ordered the best breakfast coffee ever. It's called, Cafe de Olla & Churro. My daughter and I got the same thing. Between us, we had four churros and two piping hot coffees topped with whipped cream and cinnamon. It was like starting the morning with dessert! As if that wasn't enough, I ordered Huevos Rancheros. It was nothing like the meal by the same name that I usually have, which are omelets wrapped in corn tortillas and topped with plenty of red salsa and cheese. No, this Huevos Rancheros was crunchy and much lighter. There was no red salsa. It was delicious all the same. While I like the more traditional version, too, this was healthier. I was full but not stuffed. Service was great. The restaurant is bright, clean, nicely decorated and charming. I'd like to come back--and work my way through the extensive menu--which includes much more than breakfast.

Really nice place for brunch. Quiet, cool, clean vibe. Great tasting churros with my Cafe de Olla. Excellent Huevas Rancheros. Service is friendly and efficient. Visit for a relaxing and delicious meal!

Food was great. Probably one of the best huevos rancheros I have had outside of Mexico City. Carne asada burrito was delicious as well. Service was friendly. Laid back ambiance. I would definitely return.

We were sending off a friend and wanted to have them try something classic to NY so brought them…read morehere. Like was long per usual but it moved pretty well and we were at the front in time. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and fast/efficient. We ordered several carne asada tacos and quesadillas in addition to chips/guac. As always, everything was delicious - there's a reason they're so popular and considered one of if not the best tacos here. Similar type of location and layout as their other spots on the city. It's quick, loud, small, but efficient- quite fitting of NY. Always a good time and good food.

While we were waiting,…read moreyou could hear both locals and visitors talking about how amazing this place is, which only made me more excited to try it for myself. The hype was absolutely worth it. The adobada tacos were hands down the best tacos I've ever had. The homemade corn tortillas were fresh and flavorful, and the adobada was perfectly seasoned, juicy, and packed with flavor. I also tried the carne asada tacos, which were good but definitely overshadowed by the adobada. Each taco came topped with onions, cilantro, guacamole, and salsa. Just a heads-up--the salsa packs some serious heat! Overall, this place completely lived up to the hype. If you're in the area and don't mind waiting in line, it's absolutely worth it.

The Guac was brilliant! Made the whole dish taste good. Good quantity as well. The lady at the counter was very friendly, despite the lines. Asked her what I should try next time. We agreed on Beef burrito bowl. And it is so close to Grand Central. Will make sense to do a take out here!

Cinco de Mayo landed on my radar when a bunch of us at work were looking for a place to grab some…read morelunch. We had our usual list of spots in Midtown East, but this time we wanted something a little different. We ultimately landed on Mexican, however even then there were several spots to chose from. One of my colleagues found CdM, and since we had nothing to lose we decided to check it out. In terms of physical space at CdM, there is very little; this is actually a walk-up spot hence it is solely a takeout restaurant. The menu is pretty straightforward - lots of Mexican staples with a good variety to choose from. The burrito bowl looked good so I decided to go with that - I was given choice of protein (I chose pastor) and types of beans (I chose black). The bowl was really good - all the ingredients tasted fresh and they were generous with the portion. They added sour cream to the top of the bowl and it came with a side of salsa verde which I thought was a nice touch. We also ordered some bags of tortilla chips to share - these were my favorite kind as they were semi-thick and super crunchy. Overall, I had a solid experience at Cinco de Mayo. It definitely hit the Mexican craving spot and I would have no qualms returning for another meal.
