    lavender oat milk chai latte
    Andrielle G.

visited ivy cafe to write for my substack publication for a few hours. the cafe is spacious, with convenient little nooks that are perfect for solo work or a cute getting to know each other date. i had a iced chai lavender latte with oat milk that was delicious enough to double back for a second. i ordered the ivy chicken sandwich with fries and the star of the show: a side of ivy sauce. the service was chill, they don't make you feel rushed or pressured to leave at all while still being attentive. my only issue is the amount of flies floating around, it was distracting and i had to use a napkin to cover my food as i worked. fingers crossed they fix the fly issue soon because that chai latte was delicious!

Payma offered me the box upon request to advance pack away half of brunch that will potentially become my dinner

Food service etc this restaurant was expensive for a plain hamburger and onion rings in which we counted 6 onion rings for almost 7.00

The outdoor seating looked pleasant. The service was cheerful and attentive. We ordered the Chicken & Oreo waffles and the Baked BBQ Jerk Turkey Wings and mashed potatoes. My wife and I ordered Mimosas, which were fine. The turkey wings were well seasoned and fell off the bone, but there wasn't a hint of barbecue or jerk, which annoyed me. The chicken did not taste well seasoned for Southern cuisine. The mashed potatoes were good. The Oreo waffles were light on the Oreos and came out as pictured, without the whip cream or other toppings that typically adorn a specialty meal. I only mention this because the cost is a bit on the high side, setting expectations up. Our server Kitana was very nice and attentive. It's fine for a low key meal with family and friends. I hope it succeeds even though I won't be rushing back.

Lots of people were coming for takeout, and that was the plan originally, but i decided to stay once i walked in and realized it'll be a cute brunch date with just us in an empty restaurant. The service was great. We were greeted immediately upon entry. Asked if we wanted to dine in or go... and was able to choose where we wanted to be seated because the restaurant only had a few other patrons eating in. I chose a table in the middle of the restaurant. The vibes were good as it was a Pandora playlist of 2000s R&B. We were given menus and ordered our food. The price point is okay. A bit high but not too much. We ordered a passion fruit lemonade and a rum punch for drinks, and then chicken and strawberry waffles for me, and shrimp and Oreo waffles for my date. The shrimp were huge!! It comes 6 to an order, and as you can see 4 triangle pieces that amount to 1 waffle. The chicken was delicious. Juicy, tender and flavorful. Hot sauce and other condiments are available on the table. I had to ask for syrup tho. We hung out for a few after we finished our meal and didn't feel pressured to leave or to pay. All in all, I'd definitely return to try other things on their menu. I'd give it a 4 out of 5 for this one. Because it's walking distance from my home it's an easy choice for brunch for me. A win is a win! See photos below.

You can either sit at a table and scan the QR code to order, which would have someone bring the food to you or you can order takeout at the counter. We got the strawberry waffle, egg and cheese sandwich with chicken sausage, hashbrowns, carrot cake muffin and orange juice. The egg and cheese sandwich was my favorite. It was very flavorful and the chicken sausage we added to it was delicious. The strawberry waffle was my next favorite, although I felt the strawberry syrup on it tasted artificial if there was too much in one bite. The chantilly cream on top was delicious though. The carrot muffin was ok, it was a pretty standard bakery item. I did not like the hashbrowns at all. Very bland and felt more like a plain baked potato than hashbrown. The orange juice was good and is truly fresh squeezed.

EGG & CHEESE SANDWICH - $11 Scrambled eggs and melted cheddar on an everything roll with habanero special sauce Add ham, chicken-apple sausage, or bacon for $3 (ask to substitute for a biscuit) Unfortunately my sandwich was missing the special sauce and it ate pretty dry. I ordered it to go so it was too late to ask where the sauce was. It was a heafty little sandwich but the taste left much to be desired.
