There weren't that many options for sitting, so you have to be prepared to wait for a second for a table. Thankfully, upon arrival, we were able to sit down almost immediately as a couple tables opened up. The menu is pretty short and sweet. They have sandwiches, pancakes, French toast, potatoes, bakery options, etc. it seems that they are more of a coffee shop, so there were plenty of coffee and tea options. The homefries were really good, just a little oily and not as crispy as I would've liked. After finishing a late lunch nearby, my friend and I continued our catch-up at Little Collins. It's supposedly an Australian-style cafe, so I went with a flat white. It was good, but not particularly memorable and didn't quite live up to expectations. The little cookie on the side was a nice touch, though. The latte art was intricate and very pretty. I used to grab coffee here in the mornings when I was visiting the office but decided to sit and eat one morning. I was looking for something a big lighter and guilt free from my daily bagel diet in NY and opted for the granola bowl and a macchiato. The coffee was smooth, creamy, and delightful. The granola bowl was nice and tangy from the labneh, sweetened with vanilla and maple, and has a nice crunch from the coconut, granola, and brûlée banana on top. The place is a little crammed, so I actually had dinner with two women to my left (one talked the ENTIRE time - no breath taken in two hours) and the couple on my right was on a first date, after meeting online. Little Collin's is the perfect spot for a brunch. Located right by Grand Central, makes it easy to get to. It can get quite busy however worth the wait! Waited less than 30 mins on a busy weekend for a walk in, staff keeps things moving and keeps things clean. Simple decor yet amazing food. The breakfast burrito was delicious - with potatoes, chorizo, cheese and eggs wrapped in a soft tortilla. The shishito toast was unique. Never really had that combo however was incredibly delicious. Took a chance on this place one random morning after an overnight sleepover in Manhattan with my bestie. The food picture porn was enough to encourage us to walk here un-caffeinated without reservations. It was about a 20 minute wait initially, but were then told it was shorter if we opted to sit in the bar stools by the front window, which we quickly said yes to. Came here on a rainy weekend day at around 1pm and was able to get sat right away. It's a cozy little spot with really great, solid food. The B.L.A.T was so good with the crispy bacon and the sweet uncle fred was on a banana bread that was moist and not too sweet. The buzzy bloom had an orange-y flavor with a cold brew after taste that I enjoyed, though it may not be for everyone if you don't like orange mixed with coffee. Got a hot latte, but the glass cup it came in has no handle so it was difficult to hold (hence one star off). Wow, this place is busy! Came for brunch on a holiday Monday, and it was packed. Managed to snag a spot at the window. Whenever someone wants to suggest a "fun" breakfast in East Midtown, this is invariably the selected option. There just aren't that many joy-inducing breakfast purveyors in this neighborhood, and yet there are many work breakfasts in East Midtown that aspire to be fun. We've had take-out from this establishment a few times. The line in weekends just doesn't seem worth, so we've only done to-go, and it's decent enough that we've come back a few times. This time around, we each got the Avocado Smash - one with multigrain bread and one with sourdough. We added to that a muffin and a scone, and both of the pastries were decent, but nothing to write home (or to yelp) about. Their Doordash profile prohibits comments or special requests for orders, and this is where I usually emphasize that we don't need any plastic cutlery. I shouldn't have to do this, (1) because the're sending it to my HOME, and most people have cutlery at home, and (2) it's actually against the law in NYC for restaurants to automatically include plasticware and such, and it's been in force for nearly a year now (went into effect Jan 2024), so I'm always baffled that people still do this. The only Cold and drizzly day, we ventured out for a caffeine boost early Saturday morning in Spring. It was a short jaunt from our mid town hotel, and it was fairly busy before 9am. I had ordered a Curtado and a Chorizo sandwich. My eldest son had ordered a Matcha L:atte. It was really busy, but it went by quickly when our order was ready.
