I am thoroughly impressed with the soft shell crab summer rolls I had at Pho Thai recently. The peanut sauce is one of the best I've had in years and soft shell crab was fried but absolutely not greasy at all. I would order these again and again when in the mood for summer rolls. Absolutely stellar!!
We did takeout for this restaurant based on a friend's recommendation. I usually don't order from this area because parking can be limited due to the busy boulevard but so glad we did. The food is flavorful and great portions. The pho had enough meat and noodles. The broth was great and not incredibly salty as some other places. The rice dishes were plentiful and superb serving of meat. The sandwich would have been a solid winner if they didn't pack it in aluminum foil which causes sogginess. I would recommend using the paper/waxy bags or even just a paper bag to maintain the crispiness of the bread. But a softer bread did not takeaway from the powerful punch of flavor and the right balance of ingredients in the sandwich. Divine! So tasty and would get it again - perhaps I'll toast it on my own. Definitely a good banh mi choice in Queens. The price is fantastic. Keep it this way and you'll have a constant fan base returning. Great food, great prices and service was fast and kind when I went to pick up. On top of that, their interior looks adorable so would consider dining in next time. This restaurant will now be on our rotation of Viet spots. Wishing them much success.
We were debating which pho restaurant to go to for my brother's birthday, and ended up choosing Pho Thai because we have not been before. We ordered the House Special Pho ($13.95), Rare Ribeye and Tendon Pho ($12.95), Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles) with chicken ($15.95), Pineapple fried rice with beef ($14.95), Crispy Salt and Pepper Squid ($17.95), and Spring Rolls (large $10.95). I think they give a good amount of meat in each pho bowl. Meat was tender and good quality, but when you have pho, the star should be the piping hot broth. The soup was just warm when it came to the table, and the noodles were a bit under cooked. The best item was the drunken noodles, but it tasted more like Pad See Ew to me... It was more on the sweeter side with only a mild spice. Unfortunately, the pineapple fried rice was not good at all... The beef was tender and soft, but flavorless. The salt and pepper squid was decent. Squid was meaty and there was a light batter. Could go for a little more salt and pepper on the squid and have it be a little crispier. The spring rolls were not authentic viet spring rolls. I was not a fan. Overall the service was good, and there is a bathroom in the back. But food was disappointing.
I came here for dinner during the week. The staff is friendly, attentive, and warm. I ordered the grilled beef vermicelli, and it was a large portion! The dish has tomatoes, cucumbers, bean sprouts, carrots, lettuce and of course, grilled beef and vermicelli. I appreciated the veggies that you don't usually find in this dish! Also, the sauce (which is a lot!) seemed to be a twist on the classic, and it had a zesty flavor to it. It was a good meal and I'm interested in coming back to try the other menu items.
I've been to Pho Thai twice. Once when they first opened, and tonight. Both visited were great. Great food; Great service; Great prices. Food: We've tried many dishes and most dishes are fantastic; well prepared and flavorful. They really shine with their grilled proteins. No matter which protein you choose, it is grilled to perfection. The only dish that I wasn't crazy about is the Curry Beef Stew w.Potatoes. this dish has great flavors but the beef should have been simmered longer; the beef was very tough. Other than this one dish, everything was delicious. Note that most dishes do not come with rice, and you have to order rice separately @ $2/bowl. Prices: Their prices are very reasonable, considering their large portion sizes. Tonight's dinner, shared by 5 ppl, came to just $26 each (including tax & tip). Not too bad! Customer Service: Customer service was efficient and very friendly. They were very accommodating to my party of 5. Pho Thai seems to be a very popular neighborhood restaurant. On this Monday night the restaurant was packed! Recommended and I look forward to a return visit to try other menu items!
Yummy pho and appetizers! I got the ribeye and fish ball pho. It's not a clear broth like traditional pho, but I actually prefer this. The crispy shrimp rolls and the rolled beef appetizers are also super yummy. They also provide complimentary hot tea -- and it's a nice tea! The location is bright and clean! Only feedback would be more attentive service since they only refilled the tea once (and didn't provide any water), and I couldn't get their attention for the check even though the restaurant was empty. They already started cleaning since it was 9pm, and I went up to the front to ask if I can pay.
Decided to try this for dinner. We went at 7p on a Saturday and the place wasn't full (3 tables seated) at the time. By the time we left around 8p, all the tables were full. It is not surprising because the place was well serviced with friendly and prompt service. Glasses were constantly refilled without being asked to do so. Food was quite tasty and you get your money's worth. Portions are large and priced quite reasonably! We had two orders of pad Thai with chicken. A small bowl of Tom yum soup that had good size pieces of chicken and peppers. A grilled pork cold rice vermicelli bowl that was large and the pho with grilled pork chops was also large. Highly recommend this place if you're in the mood for some good comfort food that doesn't break the bank. Is it cheap - no but nothing is these days. Is it a good value - heck yeah!
Unassuming strip mall Asian fusion restaurant serving a satisfying menu of Thai and Vietnamese favorites. Satay skewers are a must! Green curry hit the spot. The brisket pho: huge portion, lots of meat, broth not as flavorful as I had hoped. Still good! And the prices are quite affordable. Next time I'm going for the BBQ.
Nice hot pho. Amazing crispy shrimp rolls. Fresh shrimp spring rolls. And amazing beef ribs! Thai iced tea is a bonus!!
Been here twice with family member after physician appointment. Not a lot of Vietnamese/Thai restaurants here in the neighborhood and nice to know there is one right on Queens Blvd. Restaurant is nicely decorated, bright and inviting on the inside. Staff friendly and greet you as you walk in. So service here is really good. Extensive menu with Vietnamese/Thai food offered. Here are the items we ordered -The Rare Ribeye Pho on both visits- Even though the soup base is definitely not the usual Vietnamese Pho base, we ate it and like it. Family member said it was a tad salty. The noodle were clumped together like a rice bowl size which was a good portion. I truly enjoyed the raw ribeye as it cooked in the Pho and I sprinkle basil and parsley (came in a side plate for Pho). -The Beef Pad Thai- The Pad Thai noodles were all stuck together and the beef was a tad over cooked which made it tough to chew. We did not order this again on the second visit instead we ordered the Basil Beef with rice plate which was really good. We even order an extra Basil Beef rice plate to take home. -Spring Roll- Ordered this twice during each visit. Spring rolls had chunks of shrimp wrapped up in a fried roll. Also take out order for other family members.

Chicken was grilled very well, with the right level of tenderness; it married well with the fish sauce. Wasn't expensive for the amount.
Went for the grilled options this weekend (for our memorial day bbq fare). Each dish looked similar since each one was served with good amount of carrot strips, few slices of cucumber and tomato, on or with lettuce. Grilled BBQ pork belly were in small, thin slices- sweet marinade, reminded us of filipino bbq. Some fatty pieces but couldn't resist. Grilled squid was a large one, cooked enough, not tough nor chewy. $12.95. Grilled Beef Banh Hoi had tender beef, vermicelli noodles, more carrots, cucumber strips and lettuce to make wraps with. None came with rice so needed to order as extra, $2 each. House Special Fried rice had a mix of beef, chicken, shrimp, veggies. Not a large serving, good for 2-3 people. Service was attentive and friendly. Paid on a tablet, need to be careful bec made an error during tipping. Staff member couldn't confirm but was more sure that tip didn't go through. Left cash tip, but will just need to double-check my CC account (so far so good).
Wonderful Food, Service & Atmosphere! I"m Carmen . I eat alone often and enjoy places that make me feel comfortable. I had such a wonderful experience at Pho Thai! I ordered the rice vermicelli with shrimp and added the egg roll as suggested, and it was absolutely delicious. I finished my meal with the custard--the only dessert on the menu--and it was SO good! The prices are great, especially for the quality of the food. The restaurant was beautifully decorated, very clean, quiet, and relaxing, with soft music playing in the background. I also loved that there were plenty of tables that were comfortable for someone dining alone. The service was wonderful--friendly and attentive without being intrusive. And I have to mention something you don't hear often in a restaurant review: even their house tap water was exceptionally well cared for and tasted great! I enjoyed several glasses. Great food, beautiful atmosphere, wonderful service, and excellent prices. Pho Thai is definitely a place I would return to and recommend! read more

I was really craving a Thai salad, so I ordered delivery and went with the duck salad. It ended up being a pleasant surprise, the spice level was spot on, with just the right balance of tang, heat, and crunch I was looking for. My only note is that it could've used more greens. The single layer of lettuce on the bottom didn't quite cut it. I understand why it's done that way, adding more might make it soggy, but something like crisp like raw string beans or haricots verts could add both freshness and volume without sacrificing texture. Still, overall, I really really enjoyed it! The grilled beef over vermicelli was solid, fresh and flavorful, but the small container of fish sauce wasn't quite enough to tie everything together. Unfortunately, the spring rolls were a letdown. They were rolled unevenly, which led to uneven frying, and they just didn't look very appealing. They were also thinner than typical Vietnamese spring rolls, which was disappointing given the price. read more

I have eaten inside this restaurant a number of times and it's always been wonderful. Today I ordered pick up . The lemongrass chicken was delicious but the spring rolls did not taste good and looked raw. read more

This is a brand new Vietnamese restaurant (with some Thai options). It's a great addition to the neighborhood. Not only is it brand new and shiny, the quality is authentic and the pricing is similar to ones you would see in Elmhurst or Flushing. You can get bowls of pho, grilled meat with rice or vermicelli, or BBQ platters for $11.95 or $12.95. The portions were huge and the meat is very flavorful. I especially recommend one of the BBQ platters. We received three large pork chops for only $11.95. I will definitely be back. read more

Flavorful dishes with the right seasoning and herbs for that tasty flavor of Vietnam and Thailand, wish they timed the appetizers and entrees. We got all six dishes all together, one right after the other and didn't get a chance to fully enjoy and eat the appetizers so some of the food got cold. Service with a smile as they came around to fill your tea quite frequently. There wasn't much decorate to make the place feel you're walking into a local place in Vietnam or Thailand. Food is great next time will probably order dishes slowly vs giving in our full order. The grilled short ribs was definitely a top favorite. read more

I ordered a beef pho and beef cube over rice. Both were underwhelming and lacking. The beef pho broth was cloudy, with barely any beef flavor or any flavor actually. They give a lot of tendon but it was no flavor at all either. The more I'm eating the pho the more I feel like I'm eating watered down noodles with pieces of beef. I couldn't even finish it. The beef cube over rice also did not taste authentic. At most it's a beef and garlic stir fry. It was really dry too. Unfortunate for this area since there's no other nearby Vietnamese restaurant. read more
I was really excited to see a new Vietnamese place open up, especially so close to home. Typically I would have to schlep to Elmhurst or Flushing to get Vietnamese food. I have only gotten take out here a few times. The staff is nice and the food is generally decent. -Spring rolls are tasty and crispy. -Thai salad was nothing to write home about and incredible small. -Pho the packaging for take out is great very nice presentation however my issue was with the broth. It did not have beef flavor and was pure salt. Maybe when I had it that was an off day but I only had it one time and haven't had the courage to try it again. -Pork chop over rice this is definitely one of the top items in my opinion. Pork chop glaze is very tasty and the portion is quite sizeable. -I have had the pork, chicken, and beef bahn mi. The order I listed them in is from best to worst. Not that the beef one was horrible, it was just really salty and there was very little beef. Happy to have this place so close by. I hope they keep up their standards and are successful, I had seeing all these empty storefronts around the neighborhood. read more
My husband and I are so happy a new Pho spot opened up close to us! Came in and was greeted by the waitress and promptly given menus to look through. We did take advantage of the free spring roll/thai iced tea with the purchase of an entree but we got the #1 pho, salad, crab summer roll, and calamari. Pho was good and it tasted like they simmered their broth for a good amount of itme! Salad was spicy just the way I like it so if you're looking for thai spicy.. get this! Crab summer roll.. i mean crab in a summer roll - MY FAV. A tiny bit disappointed with the calamari because it wasn't as crispy as we had hoped it to be.. maybe it could be double fried? Another note... I think the restaurant should definitely reconsider rolling through with their giant trash bin during business hours as it could deter the customers and leave a bad taste in their mouth. I don't think anyone wants to see that as they're eating... Would still return though and hopefully have an even better experience! read more

New Vietnamese/Thai restaurant in Rego Park - nice!! I've been here several times now, and it's a great spot for a quick and yummy meal. Each visit, I've ordered the rare ribeye pho and added beef ball. I've also tried the chicken satay appetizer. The chicken skewers are good, but what really stands out about the chicken satay is the SAUCE. It has a perfect slight kick to it and is full of flavor. The pho broth is also flavorful and served nice and hot. The portions of meat are very generous and you will leave very full. The service is pretty good. Sometimes you may need to ask for things (think chopsticks or a refill of your water), but they always are very quick to accommodate requests and their staff is available around the restaurant for easy eye contact to flag them down. The ambiance is cute and cozy, nothing over the top but very comfortable for while you enjoy your meal. Overall, highly recommend making a visit (or many) here!! read more
I ordered the crab summer roll and the house special combo 1 pho. The crab summer roll was good but the sauce they have it pair with does not go well I'm pretty sure they used the japanese kewpie dressing which is typically for salad. They should swamp it out for the regular peanut dressing that you use for the summer roll or no sauce at all. I had to use sriracha with it which taste so much better. The house special combo pho didn't have any of the pho rich flavor the broth was creamy rather than your traditional clear and brown pho broth. It lacked a lot of the lemongrass and pho flavors, not a ton of meat but a lot of noodles. The food came out quick and the staff was very attentive, the restaurant is very spacious for a big group ! read more
I was in the area, so I wanted to try the new pho restaurant with my friend. It's brand new. No frills inside, but it isn't a hole in the wall. There's a promotion going on where if you get an entree, you can either get free spring rolls or free thai iced tea. I ordered the house special combo and got the shrimp summer rolls as well. The thai iced tea was good. The pho soup itself tasted like this korean soup broth that I had before. It didn't taste like pho broth. Very interesting, I must say. The shrimp summer roll wasn't wrapped well and filled up that it was hard to eat. The sauce that came with it seemed to be watered down. Overall, I'm not sure I would come back for the pho again. Maybe I'll try other stuff off the menu. read more
I enjoyed the pho and Thai food here! I got the house pho noodle soup was satisfying, and it came with basil, bean sprouts, lemon, and cilantro. They also serve hot tea and water. The Pad Kee Mao and Pad See Yew were also really good in flavor and portion! The crispy shrimp rolls were also good. The servers were nice, and the ambiance was clean and bright. Bright and cheery spot for both Viet and Thai favorites! Service is excellent, Thet and crew are very engaging and quick to follow up with any request. We really enjoyed Pho #3 and Viet style fish, perfect with sweet sour sauce. Summer rolls are plump and fresh, peanut sauce also uniquely light and tasty. "So delicious and makes you feel warm inside" Rego Park finally has a Vietnamese restaurant that serves pho soup. Ramen restaurants have been opening up in forest hills, but there is just something about pho soup that just hits the spot just right. I ordered the house special combination pho soup plate, the tendons and small bits of tripe was just to die for. Side of garnish like cilantro, basil and sprouts with a small side of lemon, held myself back to ask for more basil. Since I was alone the server was nice enough to offer me complimentary spring rolls, which did not disappoint. The couple next to me ordered the seafood pho and that is what I will order next time. Been hoping to try the tri ice but I was uncomfortably full.... But no regrets. Watch out ramen, pho is here to stay! read more

Recently took my family here after going to lunch here many times. We got the #2 pho brisket tendon and tripe and it was loaded with meats with a very tasty broth. I love that this place will always give you cilantro in addition to bean sprouts and basil. My mom enjoyed her bowl too. My brother got the rice vermicelli with grilled shrimp and it was great. The whole restaurant is clean and bright with prompt and friendly service. If you're craving tasty pho for a great price this is the spot read more
