Ambiance (5/5): No frills establishment but plenty of tables. Service (5/5): Easy to order via QR code, but pay via server. Super friendly server who checked in on us a couple of times. Quick to service and timed dishes well. Food: Scallion Pancake (5/5): A beautiful exterior crunch to the pancake. It was balanced in flavor and not overly oily. Brisket Pho (5/5): The meat comes on the bone and it falls right off. Very tender meat and juicy too! The broth has such umami and depth. The portions are large. Everything was just right.

I was excited to try out another Vietnamese option in the vicinity of Astoria, hoping it'd be awesome that I wouldn't have to take the trip to Elmhurst or Flushing. Their menu does not have all the options that you'd find at a Vietnamese restaurant in an Asian neighborhood. We did not see much difference in size between the normal and "large" pho(s). The portions are noticeably smaller than other places I have ordered from (in the other neighborhoods previously mentioned) and none of it tasted as good as what we have had in other places. We ordered summer rolls, 2 regular and 1 large pho(s), spring rolls, tum yum with noodles and cumin lamb skewers (which is an item you don't see in a Vietnamese restaurant, maybe this was the red flag I should have read as "not authentic" ) Sorry to say that we won't be ordering from this place again when we crave pho. Credit where credit is due: Our order was packed nicely and was delivered on time.

Really delicious flavors! The tom yum soup has such great flavors and balance of spicy and sour. It's not too heavy either. However, there's not enough protein; I was still a bit hungry after. Great flavors though. Same for the chicken wings and large pho - great flavors, just not enough meat.

The pho and spicy lemongrass noodle soups were really good! Broth had depth, meat was tender and beef balls were homemade (soft texture). There is no tendon or tripe on the menu though. Pricing is on the higher end but not unheard of for the alternatives in the area ~$18-19 per pre tax and tip. The biggest disappointment was the spring roll because I loveee a good spring roll. This had lots of oil when biting into it and texture was a bit chewy even though we ate it fresh at the restaurant. The system here is a bit unique. I signed up for waitlist online and received a text when table was ready. I tried to call the restaurant but no one picked up and I showed up 5 min later. The hostess said I was a no show and took me off the list already which was so odd because there was no option to indicate I'm coming or almost there, and it was only a few minutes later. We were still able to be seated right away because we were willing to share a large table with another seated party of two while everyone else waiting didn't want to do that. Then you order directly on your phone but pay by flagging someone down. And be prepared to pay 3% surcharge for credit cards (not even sure if they take cash because she just told us to tap the portable and there was no indication of fees). Would definitely come back just for the noodle soups! Glad a closer great pho option is in the neighborhood.

We came here on a Sunday at around 7pm and every table was filled and people were waiting to eat. We put our name down with a telephone number and walked around the area for about 30-40 minutes. They did call asking if we would share a table but we chose not to and then walked over to make sure they didn't take us off the list completely. You order your food off a QR code. The short rib pho was so good and had so much short rib meat. It was tender and flavorful. The broth had a little sweetness to it. I enjoyed it. My partner got the spicy lemongrass soup and added extra spicy lemongrass. It had great lemongrass flavor and I enjoyed the meatballs as they seemed homemade and not as packed/dense. We enjoyed our meal and the service was great.

I'm really living for all the new Asian Halal places opening up in Astoria, Queens. First it was Prime No. 7, and now a Vietnamese spot!! I came here on a Friday evening (it definitely gets packed and there was a wait time so I recommend try to reserve a table, if it's an option). I went for the beef short rib pho and I shared calamari with my friend. The pho is very big by the way and can easily be shared by two people. To be honest, I wasn't too much of a fan of the ribs but that had nothing to do with the restaurant (I should've known it was gonna be very chewy as that does tend to be the nature with ribs) . However, the broth and noodles itself was really great. The flavors are really immersed in there and my friend who generally does not eat halal sad it tastes like other Vietnamese places. Next time, I'm definitely going to go for the banh mi (it was unfortunately sold out when I was there) and try a different pho. Will definitely come back!

    spicy lemongrass pho - perfection!!

Finally there's a place in new york that has decent pho! I went here with a friend during its grand opening and ordered a spicy lemongrass pho. The broth and spices were absolute perfection. I went the following week with someone else to show them that a unicorn of good pho just arrived in Astoria. The service is great too - they're very attentive and fast!

So happy to have one more halal pho spot in Queens! I had pho with brisket and steak and it was very soft. The broth was spicy and not too heavy and the noodles were silky smooth. The staff were very kind and attentive.

first time getting halal pho but this place is solid. portions are generous with noodle, meat, and toppings. the pho broth wasnt very flavorful to me but the spices and toppings more than make up for it. halal meatballs were interesting. when i stopped by it was pretty late but they were still packed and i waited 15 mins. felt a bit understaffed but seevice was nice.

My friend and I came here to eat for lunch. The pho, the calamari, the skewers, and the Vietnamese iced coffee were amazing! The staff had us seated right away, and the food did not take long to be served. I would recommend this place and will come back to eat!

This is a new halal Vietnamese restaurant in the neighborhood (they have another location in Edison, NJ). I would give this place 4.5 stars. We went on a Saturday evening and the place was pretty busy. We were promptly seated. We viewed the menu via the QR code at the table and placed our order with a server who came by shortly. We started off with the spring rolls. They came to the table piping hot, with some lettuce and mint to wrap it in before dipping into the fish sauce. The pho beef combo (large) came with brisket, steak, beef balls, and tendon. The broth was flavorful and the meat was tender, but my SO didn't care for the mushy texture of the beef balls. I had the grilled rice platter with a combo of four types of meat: grilled chicken, fried chicken, grilled beef, and grilled shrimp. The meat was well seasoned, tender, and tasty, and was accompanied by white rice, tomatoes, cucumber, shredded lettuce, and pickled carrots/daikon. I had ordered a soda lemonade, but I wish the sugar syrup at the bottom was better blended since I was getting globs of syrup when drinking through a straw. The meal was delicious, but a little pricy (the pho was $17.95 and the rice platter with the combo of four meats was $23.95). This is a good option for when I don't want to trek out to Jackson Heights for a bowl of pho.

    Spicy beef lemongrass Pho

Big stars for this recently opened place. I had the spicy beef lemongrass pho which was perfectly spiced with plenty of heat but not so much to overpower the fresh, high quality ingredients so perfectly executed. The thin sliced beef was soft and tender, noodles nice and chewy and onions wonderfully wilted with broth and flavor. Really delicious. Staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Even had been asked multiple times if I wanted more accessories (beans sprouts, jalepenos, basil or fresh lime). Took home their Dan Dan noodles as that is one of my baseline foods and while interestingly different from the traditional versions I'm used to, was delicous none the less. Bouncy/chewy noodles and a nutty, earthy, spicy sauce and I do recall the unmistakable buzz and tingle of real Sichuan peppercorn. I will be back!

Food & service were amazing. I genuinely loved the beef brisket in my pho. The place was clean and cute :)

There has to be a better way to organize this. All that aside, Pig Beach is where you want to come when you're craving BBQ on a nice day. The venue is mostly outdoors with a few indoor tables and two bars. Drinks here are well priced and the specials are even better - I paid $5 for a tequila spritz last time I was here. The meat here is really tender and the sides absolutely slap. Even if you're coming here with a vegetarian there are solid options - the mac and cheese and cole slaw are my favorites. Also I never thought I'd be okay with paying $7 for pickles but the half sours here absolutely slap. Last time I went here I had the ribs which were huge and tender, and the jalapeno cheddar sausage that I def didn't need but it was so, so good. If you're coming here to watch a popular game, get here early to snag a spot.

I would gave them a 2 star for yesterday's experience. First, the place was empty on a Friday night at 10:00pm. Probably have 3 takeout order while we were sitting down. The first time I went was on a weekday night back in December, and there were more patrons. Not sure if the place is going down hill, but they dont have slushies anymore. We had the mango slushies the first time, and the only drinks available was whatever bottle drinks they have in the fridge. Mind you, they dont serve you water, so you have to get drinks since the food is garlicky or spicy. We wound up getting the milk tea ice rice this time. It was ok. I never tried it, but the rice is a bit hard. I won't order again. Best dish is large eggplant. Very flavorable, maybe a bit too garlicky. Will order this again. Also, the chicken wing is huge, for the price of $3 each. Thats why we ordered 2 chicken wing this time. But, I think it wasnt grilled as nice as my first time. Still good since it is a lot of meat for the price of $3. Lotus root is also pretty good, glazed with sugar. The worst i would say is the lamb, a bit too chewy, lack of flavor. The bathroom has all sorts of postcard of famous album. I found that pretty neat. Lastly, I think the squid tentacles is much smaller than before.

It was so cold out the night I went so I was very happy they kept it nice and warm inside the restaurant. There's a very large selection of skewers, they have basically everything you could want. I especially appreciate that you can order just one of any skewer, unlike some other places where certain types only come in orders of 3 etc, allowing you to order a large variety even if you're dining alone. The seasoning was delicious, and every skewer was not coated in identical seasoning. None of it was spicy at all if that's what you're looking for, but none were lacking in flavor. The meat was juicy and you could taste the smoke from the grill. I loved the different textures of vegetables which were all well cooked. I'm still thinking about the crunchy exterior of the rice cake. I think my favorite skewer was the lotus root, which was perfecting complimented by the seasoning mix. An amazing meal! 16 skewers came out to less than $50. I look forward to returning!

The place is LOUD albeit with good taste of retro, 90's music and not the modern trash that floods the radio waves so I can rock with that. Place is sized pretty well with an outside seating area and plenty of tables inside the albeit dimly lit bar/restaurant. Coming into the place I was greeted by a blonde woman who seemed to be a supervisor of the area. She directed me to a comfortable seating area and a server took my order afterwards. The place was relatively busy so the wait for my food was kind of in the long range, about maybe 15 minutes. I ordered Chicken & Waffles with Iced Tea and the food was definitely worth the wait. That chicken was so good, a bit on the crisp side but it's solid in taste. The Waffle had such an awesome texture with the right measure of powdered sugar, decorated with Blueberries and Strawberries, the entrée was plated very well. The Iced Tea, I didn't know it was unsweetened so that threw me off but some sugar kinda fixed that. Service was also 'A' Tier. The place was busy so it was a tad on the slow side but they were very attentive. About 3 different servers tended to me whether it was about my order, how I liked it and paying for the bill when I was finished. That's dedication and I always give props to that. I enjoyed my visit here.
