My order, Chicken and Waffles with Iced Tea
    Jayden D.

Was looking for an opportunity to dine at this place. Only in the weekends is this place open during the day so today on a Saturday I went. The place is LOUD albeit with good taste of retro, 90's music and not the modern trash that floods the radio waves so I can rock with that. Place is sized pretty well with an outside seating area and plenty of tables inside the albeit dimly lit bar/restaurant. Coming into the place I was greeted by a blonde woman who seemed to be a supervisor of the area. She directed me to a comfortable seating area and a server took my order afterwards. The place was relatively busy so the wait for my food was kind of in the long range, about maybe 15 minutes. I ordered Chicken & Waffles with Iced Tea and the food was definitely worth the wait. That chicken was so good, a bit on the crisp side but it's solid in taste. The Waffle had such an awesome texture with the right measure of powdered sugar, decorated with Blueberries and Strawberries, the entrée was plated very well. The Iced Tea, I didn't know it was unsweetened so that threw me off but some sugar kinda fixed that. Service was also 'A' Tier. The place was busy so it was a tad on the slow side but they were very attentive. About 3 different servers tended to me whether it was about my order, how I liked it and paying for the bill when I was finished. That's dedication and I always give props to that. I enjoyed my visit here.

Not the same quality and service anymore! I was first introduced to Trestle by a local TV reporter who covered the Queens beat before COVID. At that time, I had a marvelous dinner there, and it felt like a four-star experience, leaving me with a positive experience. In August, I headed back for a midday lunch. The restaurant has always been a local favorite, but that day service was not up to snuff. I sat outside and waited and waited and waited. There were only a dozen or so patrons, mostly outside, waiting too, and some had been served. So I headed back inside, and it appeared that one waitress was focusing on things other than food and service. After several attempts, I finally got her attention, and she took my order rather surly as if customer service was not very important to her. The saving grace was the chicken BLT, which was large and very satisfying. Nevertheless, I do not plan to return or recommend. I will not be back

My husband and I recently had brunch at The Trestle with a couple of friends, and we had a positive experience overall. The food was somewhat standard brunch fare but pretty well executed. Our friends had the fried chicken sandwich, which was massive, and it definitely had a "wow" factor, which made my husband and I have a bit of order envy. I had the chicken BLT, which came on Texas toast. The chicken itself was a bit dry, but the bacon and mayo helped. My husband had the steak sandwich, and he liked that the steak was tender and that the sandwich came with a side of jus, but he felt that the sandwich overall could've used a bit more seasoning and fewer peppers. He loved his Bloody Mary, which came with a slice of bacon in it. :) The service was friendly and attentive. Overall a decent spot. The music seemed a bit "clubby" for brunch in my personal opinion, but that's probably just because I'm old.

Had a great experience! The dirty martini with Hendricks gin was really good, balanced. Then they were offering brunch all day so I was able to try the shrimp & grits with egg, it was so creamy and a heavy dish so I was only able to eat half. My husband got the steak sandwich with au jus dip, definitely recommend! Also had the lemon chicken wings to start off, flavorful and delicious as well. Servers were very friendly and attentive, nice space representing Astoria, will be back!

    Truffle Cheese Fries Loaded Poppers

My friends and I hadn't seen each other in 3 years and we had been told they have a great brunch, so we decided to give it a try. We booked a table for 8 via Yelp which was helpful and easy to do. When we got to the restaurant they were all set up and ready for us. We ordered truffle cheese fries, calamari and loaded poppers. The truffle fries were amazing, definitely my favorite of all three appetizers, they were crispy and full of flavor. The loaded poppers were cold in the middle, and honestly not nearly as flavorful as I had hoped. Some of us opted for the $25 unlimited brunch drinks, we had the Bellini and red sangria, both were delicious. Between all of us we ordered the eggs Benedict, chicken and waffles and pancakes and you really can't go wrong with any of them....they were all really delicious. The only thing that was a bummer is that we didn't know they had a DJ for brunch, so it was hard for u to hear anything unless we were talking to the person right next to us. The manager lowered it a little, but it was still hard to hear each other. But that's not on them, we didn't know about the DJ, plus it was a larger party. I just mention it just as an FYI. Overall it was a great experience and I will definitely go back. I only took one picture of the food because it was so yummy we just started in on it, LOL.

Went down to Astoria to museum. Found this place on Yelp. My daughter and I walked in and were greeted with the best smile and warmth from the whole staff especially Chris. Food was on Point best Chix & Broccoli I have ever had. Yep Chix & Broccoli. Great dessert warm chocolate cookie w/ ice cream. Great cup of coffee , bathroom very clean. I even got a happy birthday song solely because our waiter Chris heard my daughter and talking this day was my birthday gift.

I went here earlier to catch up with my friend for an early dinner. I must say, I am highly disappointed in the service we received today especially since I was really looking forward to it. When we got there, there were no utensils or napkins on the table. We ordered 2 mimosas and my friend's mimosa had a strand of hair in it. Luckily they remade her drink. The one thing we did enjoy was the food. I had the Trestle sliders & loaded poppers. She had the Chicken BLT. We closed out our bill around 6pm since the early shift was ending, but stayed after to catch up & chat. The night shift was not attentive at all! My friend still wanted to order a drink and dessert. I put my hand up twice and even spoke to the waiter as I went to the bathroom that my friend wanted to order something, he said ok. But when I got back from the restroom, he still didn't come to take my friend's order. I feel like they pick & choose who they want to serve, which is really sad especially since we were willing to spend more money. We decided to just leave after.

Achilles was our server and he was very nice. Super friendly. The place wasn't too busy but the food took a while to come out. The pretzel was huge! Very soft and not a lot of salt which I like. The chicken pot pie smelled and looked amazing. Very flakey. I would come back.

I came here for my friend's birthday for drinks and food. The service was great! The waiter was attentive and even charged my phone! I ordered the grilled shrimp skewer entree with asparagus and a sunny side up egg. It was really flavorful and delicious. I would for sure order againZ I also got a spicy margarita, which was also very tasty. My friends got the chicken pot pie, chopped salad, and fish tacos. They all really enjoyed their food. The bathroom downstairs was really cool. It had the Broadway train stops going in the loud speaker. The vibe is casual and they have a dj some nights but not this Saturday. I would for sure come back

Went here for brunch. Service was pretty good and very friendly. I got the avocado toast with poached eggs. The toast was fresh and definitely overloaded with avocado. Poached eggs were made perfectly. Also ordered home fries which had a little spice to them. Their coffee is served in a very big coffee cup and tasted pretty good. Will definitely revisit.

The food was delicious. Went on a Sunday for brunch. Our waiter Morillo was very attentive. Enjoyed the music played in the background.

    Tiffany L.

I don't usually rate bathrooms but I love that they play the train conductor audio in the restroom Definitely on theme! There's plenty of outdoor seating and they have a full bar and some booths in the back. Music is quite loud for the baby so we sat outside. No wait on a early Saturday evening. Service was good and food was tasty too! The chicken pot pie was superb! Love the crust! The creamy filling was tasty and piping hot. Portions are generous too. The fish tacos were good. I like that the fish wasn't fried. Will be back if I'm the neighborhood to try more items!

    Chicken & Waffles

Was looking for a brunch place in Astoria and found this place. The place is very cute, the employees are extremely nice, and the bathroom with the metro announcements is very interesting. However, I do have to say that the food was quite subpar. I was happy to be seated immediately on a weekend during prime brunch time! - Toppin' Out Sandwich - I'm not going to lie, this is going to sound harsh, but it tasted like a McMuffin if the ingredients were real. I felt like this sandwich was quite basic and a little dry for my taste. The breakfast potatoes were slightly more flavorful but I wish the seasoning went all the way into the potatoes rather than just sitting on the top. - Chicken & Waffles - I liked this one better than the sandwich, although it is a far cry from the usual chicken and waffles. I felt like the chicken was a bit dry and didn't have a lot of flavor and the waffles were quite heavy although the syrup did help. I think the best part was the fruits sitting on its side. I will say, however, that they give you a lot of food and 3 people can comfortably eat these two plates. Overall, come for the vibes but not for the food. Pro tip to walk around the area afterwards as it is very cute!

The biggest question then became, where to go? We needed a place that was relatively easy to get to that would hold close to 100 people. Jungly was a contender for several reasons - it's location, size, vibe, and menu all seemed to check off. It also helped that I had done business with the owner previously at one of his other spots. It seemed like the natural choice, so I went ahead with the booking. Jungly is located in LIC - it's a pretty convenient spot as its close to the LIRR and the subway. Parking can be a challenge, but luckily I found a spot only a block away. The space itself is nicely set up - walking in you're immediately greeted by the bar area with dining areas both to the left and the right. Due to our size, they closed the place to the public and we were able to freely roam the bar area and one of the dining rooms. In addition to standard tables, they have some lounge space and high tops by the bar. The vibe is somewhat modern - a black/grey color scheme paired with neon and golds. It looks like the space could easily be converted to a club-like atmosphere. Since we were here for a private event, the food was set up buffet style - we chose three apps, four mains, and two sides. Ultimately, for apps we chose pita bread with dips, steak tacos, and shrimp tacos. For mains we chose fried chicken sliders, smashed beef sliders, cacio e pepe, and roasted chicken. For sides, we got fries and Brussels sprouts. In general, all of the food was tasty; the strongest dishes were the tacos, fries, and the chicken tacos. The tacos were generously filled, the fries were the crispy skin style, and the chicken sliders were nice and crispy. The weakest for me was the cacio e pepe - not much flavor and just not really a standout IMO. My communication with management to set up the event were a little staccato, though in the end everything worked out. For the most part, my communication with them was consistent in the days leading up to the event. Service the night of the event was overall good - they were very accessible but I found that they could have replenished the food a little faster in response to the rate it was being taken from the buffet. The bar, on the other hand, was great - both in service and variety of liquor available. Overall, we had a great event at Jungly. They were professional, fair, and delivered on the goods. I would definitely consider hosting another event there, or dine here on my own.

The bartender, the one person who should be welcoming and engaging, came across as rude and lacked any charisma. On a Friday night, good energy behind the bar makes a huge difference, and that was completely missing. I ordered a margarita, which is one of the simplest and most common cocktails to make. I asked for it really sweet with plenty of salt on the rim. Instead, it came out barely sweet and with almost no salt. For a $17 margarita, I expected much better. I've had to return the drink because I've had better margaritas for $12 at other places. While waiting for my friend, I had to wait with a glass of water because I didn't trust the way they made the drink. The bartender told me I either needed to order another drink or move, which felt unnecessarily rude and unwelcoming. To be fair, the food was good and the space itself is nice. However, the bar service left a very poor impression. There are plenty of more affordable places where the staff are friendly and make guests feel welcome. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I wouldn't recommend this place. Give this place a 6.5
