GREAT BROTH. I had the brisket pho which was delightful. Service was fast as I placed my order to go. Everything was fresh and perfectly bagged separately.

Ordered: Summer Rolls w Lemongrass Chicken (~$8): 2pc roll with with Vermicelli Noodle, Green Papaya, Cucumbers and Basil Flank & Brisket Pho Noodle Soup (~$16) Aya's take: Great to see another Vietnamese option open up in Astoria! The Flank & Brisket Pho Noodle Soup was soothing, aromatic, and super filling. The bowl was massive, and I had enough to take as leftovers. The Summer Rolls w Lemongrass Chicken were an absolute skip. The lemongrass chicken was so dry and the pieces were so tiny. It almost would've been better without them. Green papaya is also not traditionally found in Summer Rolls so in general, I found these a bit off-putting. Come for the pho!

It's true - the portions are huge here!! They were generous with the meat and noodles. They didn't have sambal or jalapeños though. The broth was decent and I wasn't crazy about the noodles.

Flank and Brisket Pho Noodle Soup - huge bowl and portion size. Broth was clean and good, but a little plain for my taste. I asked for jalapenos to spice it up a little. Was pretty good, but raw jalapenos, not cooked in the soup. The noodles were fresh and nice and chewy, and the soup had a lot of meat. Definitely a big portion. It was a cold windy day, so everyone was getting the soup, but I was also interested in the banh mi sandwich. Service was ok, not the friendliest, but seemed like it was just one server so perhaps she was busy. Spring rolls were delicious. Crisp and warm, with lot of meat filling, juicy and flavorful. Comes with a lettuce wrap and fish dipping sauce. Wish they gave a few extra lettuce leaves, but the ones we got were fresh. First time trying Vietnamese and this place in the neighborhood. Convenient location right by the Broadway stop in Astoria. Clean interior and good for a casual lunch in the neighborhood. Got kind of cold inside because the door with people coming in and out from outside, but it was otherwise a nice comfortable ambiance. Went here for lunch on a Saturday, and it was busy but not too crowded. There's enough seating and people dining solo, too. I don't often go dining out for Noodle soups because I'm a little picky on those, so not sure if I'll return for that, but may try the banh mi sandwich another time. Seemed reasonably priced at $10 for the sandwich. Soups were averaged at $16.

A good spot for traditional Viet fare. The Pho is very good especially the broth. The Banh Mi is pretty spot on as well.

The pho I bought was absolutely amazing It was so tasty. The service was so quick and easy and the place was clean and chill. I will definitely be returning. The portions were big and price wasn't too bad.

Ambiance (5/5): New spot in the neighborhood! Inside is open, nicely decorated, and clean. Service (5/5): There were few patrons at the hour we visited (9:30pm) so the service was great. Pho (4/5): The broth was amazing with multiple levels of umami!! I loved their noodles but was let down by their portion of meat and quality of it. If the meat is improved, this would be a bomb ass pho. Their house chili was spicier than I thought it would be but very tasty.

This Combo Banh Mi totally exceeded my expectations! I wasn't expecting much because it looks kind of thin and lacking, but it turned out to be seriously delicious. At first, it doesn't look like there's a lot of meat and fillings, but the flavors are actually incredible. The butter adds a rich, creamy touch--blending perfectly with the pork and pâté for a well-balanced bite. I think it's definitely on par with some of the best banh mi in NYC, especially since inflation is hitting banh mi quite hard so $10 for this sandwich isn't too bad at all! Service was really quick and efficient. The interior of the restaurant also feels clean and airy yet homey.

I wanted to be excited about this place because there was a lack of Vietnamese food in Astoria. This place has been open for almost a year and I just got around to try their sandwich. Their bahn mi bread bread is nice and airy but I have to admit the sandwich is very much on the smaller side. It is Closer to the size and iteration of the ones that they have overseas but the lack of protein in it was kind of offputting given that I can get a better sandwich elsewhere for just a little bit more money. Also, I told him I would like some spice to it and they repeated it multiple times to the chef and he still added nothing to my sandwich. I had to add it on my own at home. I would probably not go out of my way to come back here again.

We were both craving some good ol' classic banh mi and they delivered! Well, actually we went to get takeout from them.. They delivered on the taste. I ordered the tofu mushroom bahn mi and my friend opted for the pork classic special. I wasn't a fan of the bread bun they used but I enjoyed the mushroom flavor. I'm so used to just having lemon grass tofu and other less substantial vegetables pair with it that I didn't realize how powerful adding mushroom was. Would be open to trying again. This runs as a casual spot and plenty of people were seated during dinner here.

4.5 stars. I noticed this new Vietnamese restaurant quietly had their grand opening the other day as I was heading to the take the train. I tried to find more info online but could not find a website nor any social media accounts. So, I decided to stop by after work and just try them out. I ordered the following to go: Fried Catfish Tacos ($10.89): the tacos were okay. It comes two (tacos) per order. The catfish is fried and topped with pickled carrots, cucumbers, bib lettuce, and spicy mayo. By the time I got it home, the fish were no longer crispy. It also could have used more of the spicy mayo (which wasn't spicy at all) or maybe a couple of slices of lime to spritz on the tacos. Banh Mi Special ($10.89): Was surprised by how much I enjoyed this. It had pork belly, pork roll, pate and topped with pickled carrots, cucumber, cilantro and daikon. At first glance, I was disappointed by the amount of protein and thought it could have used more slices of pork belly and pork rolls. So, I was completely amazed after the first bite. It hit all of the flavor profiles of a great banh mi: savory, sweet, slightly salty and aromatic. The baguette was fresh, crusty and held all of the ingredients together well. Also, this sandwich could easily be shared by two people. Pho with Flank & Brisket ($17.42): The portion was large (especially for take-out). They didn't give a lot of herbs surprisingly, but it had thinly sliced onions, bean sprouts, cilantro and a few pieces of mint. The noodles themselves were delicate and silky. And the broth was quite good. Honestly, this was so satisfying to eat, very filling and yummy. Happy to report that I enjoyed the food. I probably will skip the tacos next time and just go for anything else on the menu.

I am stoked about a new pho/Vietnamese joint in Astoria and so far this one shows promise! Their banh mi sandwiches have been thoroughly satisfying, warm baguette, crispy on the outside and soft inside, not too doughy. I've tried the special (ham and pate) and grilled pork and both were really delicious in their own ways. The special doesn't look like a lot of meat on photo but it was pretty filling. They don't put jalapeños in but gives you a container of siracha which does the job. Grilled pork was very nicely seasoned and packed with chunks of meat. I'd say pretty worth it for $10.89 (w/ tax). I'm excited to try their other options. Would recommend giving them a try! Let's try to keep a solid place open - this space has had quite a few business turnarounds in the past year.

I actually wanted their combo ($12) taco platter (3 tacos, Rice, Refried beans), but the choices for the tacos were chicken, pork, beef. The other combo that looked interesting was a beef taco, chicken fajita, and something called a sincronizada (ham & cheese pressed between 2 taco shells), & rice & beans. But their iPad system didn't have that (even though the paper menus did). I probably could've just ordered it with the cashier. I got ($13 Total) two tacos, beef tongue & al pastor ($4.50 each) & a side of rice ($3). The portions were very generous, and the first few bites things tasted good but a few more and I noticed that everything lacked flavor. The beef tongue was the best item, there was a salty sear on one side, but the pieces weren't as tender as other restaurants'. Maybe it was frozen and he didn't have time to defrost it? The al Pastor was chopped up meat bits with NO flavor. The pineapple and onions were nicely, finely chopped, but I didn't even finish half of these tacos. The rice had peas, corn, carrots, and string beans & big fluffy grains. At first it was tasty, with maybe hints of bullion and tomatoes; but after a few bites, it started reminding me of cafeteria rice & had a bit too much oil. It seems like a popular place, a mom and her kid came in for tacos after school, local workers and contractors who seem to know the staff and delivery guys, came in for their lunch. Maybe I didn't order the right items, or these type of tacos are more popular on the weekend. I also wonder that since I'm not a local or of the background, there isn't as much care put into my food. One contractor yelled "China! [cheena!]" to the staff as he walked in. Was I supposed to respond "Mexicanos!" LOLZ. I hope they do well though they seem like a neighborhood staple.

I think there's a few sons/cousins that are sometimes there & bring some of that young energy too. The wall menus are a bit hard to figure out & I think there's more options than they list. I saw a lot of people eating mole with rice & beans, and enchilada-type of hot plates, sizzling pieces of beef too, large bowls of soup. The steam tables are probably the best options for specials of the day - stewed chicken, different kinds of beans, etc. I should point & order next time. Have had: Suadero Tacos - melt-in-your-mouth tender beef (longer wait than other meats) Al Pastor Taco Pozole (soup): Red (slightly spicy) & White Versions. Comes with diced radish, lettuce, lime wedge, & tostada (I asked for 2). Red was better. White had a lot of pork belly fat-only chunks on the day that I went. (MUST like Mexican oregano with this soup recipe!) Champurrado: a hot corn flour drink with panela, cinnamon; other stuff. Could be a breakfast replacement. Horchata: just okay, realized that I like the Salvadorian version better. There's about 15 tables inside, family-friendly, solo workers eating lunch; Weekend couples, Grandpa bringing grandson for some soup. Cases filled with pan dulce up front also. The action figure collection on the front right wall is a super nice touch! To Yelp Reviewer who wrote that this place doesn't include avocado or guacamole with tacos: I don't think tacos normally come with avocado OR guacamole (depending on region & some places here probably add to appease Americans). $19 for FRESH 3-4 items (TONGUE!) is excellent.

The drinks were really good! We tried the "Sexy Oaxaca," which consists of 7 Misterios Doba-Yej Mezcal, Cointreau, grilled pineapple, mint agave, fresh lemon, and warm salt. This drink takes your taste buds on a ride. It starts off light and refreshing with the mezcal throughout, then finishes with a smoky effect from the pineapple since it's lit. It was really good!! I also tried the "VIP Old Fashion," made with Patrón Extra Añejo, Nixta corn liqueur, Angostura, and orange bitters. This was also good and was smoked prior to being served, giving it a smoky aftertaste. It's definitely a drink you sip slowly. They were big on togo orders, but the handful of tables was just enough for a group lunch or intimate dinner. The vibe is a complete departure from their other locations, and one that this part of the neighborhood could have benefited from. While the location and storefront made them different from their stands, so too was the food. It wasn't bad but also was very on par with the sub-NY standard of Mexican fare. The breakfast plates felt average, enchiladas were very bland, and the tacos were not at all similar to their other spots.
