Brócoli in Beef with Garlic Sauce w brown rice
Kat E.

My coworker/boss decided to get some food from here so of course I wanted to try it after he raved about it. I have to see that the food is soooo good! The brócoli in garlic sauce was tasty and the brown rice cooked just right. I order the spring roll with it. It was a vegetable one that was seasoned just right and tasted fresh. Will definaltely order from here.

Super large portions! The chicken wings here are the best around the area (if you're looking for something quick and cheap)! Super crunchy! The fries are soggy but you can always pop them in the air fryer. Crab Rangoon is okay (not enough filling) but super crunchy. The pork ribs here are sooo good!! Ask for barbecue sauce on it (they charge extra but so worth)!

Amazing Chinese food. My general tso's tofu hasn't tasted this good in years. Every other restaurant is crap compared to here for the past 8 years. Now, I am comparing to the Chinese restaurants in Arizona cause that's where I've been living for that time frame. But as a New Yorker, I approve of this spot and give it the official thumbs up and go get you some now!!! Clean restaurant, great food and they have a teenager working there that speaks perfect English.

This place is truly a disappointment. Tried it twice just to make sure that i wasn't being fooled. Ordered two separate times and both times I wasn't impressed. The first time I ordered, I got the shrimp in lobster sauce. Boy, oh boy, it was straight up liquid, it wasn't even sauce. It was just water. Second time, I ordered sesame chicken thinking this was safe to order because it's one of their popular times. Nope. Chicken was drenched with sauce and the meat was too rough. Yes, it's "Chinese" fast food but come on, the food is not even good fast food. So the verdict is, I would avoid this place.

Steamed mixed vegetables and chicken

Hands down, the best Chinese delivery/carryout restaurant in the area! Killer prices, superstar service and yummy food - what else could you ask for from a delivery/carryout restaurant? I usually order from the "Health Food" options and it's less than $7.00 for oodles of steamed veggies and chicken/shrimp with a pint of brown rice! Unlike other establishments, they use large juicy plumpy shrimp! Also, their egg drop and vegetable bean curd soups are fairly good. Shockingly, their Tostones taste decent, however, their French Fries are no bueno. As for the delivery service, it is fast, the food is packaged with love and the delivery man is super nice. I've only been in the restaurant once, but the workers were very nice as well.

Shrimp Lo Mein. I paid $5.40, but price probably changes during the year.

The restaurant is a few blocks from the main street of Steinway so it'll take a bit of searching. Going inside, the area is rather abstract. Pink flower wallpaper on one end and dry wall on the other, it's kinda off-putting but I didn't come here for the atmosphere anyway. Service was lukewarm, I got my order in but the two workers inside weren't too receptive and the menu itself is kinda barebones with most of their food being a bit more than I would like to pay for so I just settled on one order of Singapore Mei Fun. After waiting 10 minutes for my food to arrive, the Singapore noodles which are usually spicy were kinda salty but it was nothing a bit of duck sauce wouldn't fix. This one order cost $17 while not the worst Singapore Mei Fun...well technically it is, even though it's not horrible but I've had much better from other places for a stable price of $12. Yeah, a rather disappointing visit. Not the worst I've ever had but could be so much better.

I got the wonton soup and pork juicy buns. The soup was different from other wonton soups with the addition of cilantro and some nice balancing flavors for the salt, and the juicy buns were your classic soup dumplings with a very nice rich sauce to dip in. The dandan noodles my friend ordered were maybe my favorite, they were the perfect level of spicy and so flavorful without being overwhelming. I'd go back just for my own plate of those. The service was quite fast, and it's a cute little shop that feels like a small town Chinese restaurant. Very reasonably priced as well. Some of my favorite Chinese food I've found outside of Lower Manhattan !

Once she got to her destination, she opened the food container so that she can begin eating. As soon as she looked down, she noticed that there appeared to be something on her shrimp and was compelled to walk back to the restaurant and ask for either a refund or newly prepared food. The host/clerk (person behind the counter) told her it was grease and refused to either refund her or prepare a new meal. So my daughter sent me a picture of the food and I told her it looks like the shrimp has herpes! Never the less, she didn't eat it nor did she cause a fuss and Just walked out. The consequence of poor customer service usually results in a closed business. It's a shame how these restaurants come to our neighborhood/country and refuse to provide valuable customer service. I gave 3 stars because I'm pretty sure she went there before and it was good enough to go back.

As a local NYer who grew up with this type of comfort food, it's important to understand the distinctions. If you're expecting restaurant style food, do your research next time. When you're looking for a quick fix of stir fried foods, rice dishes drenched in glazed sauces, and crispy appetizers, this place did the trick. On my rainy day visiting my companions and bringing back takeout, this place provided us the food we needed. Most Chinese food takeout places would slather on so much salt, high sodium seasonings, watered down sauces, and very stale old cold rice. This place did none of this and they did a great job with their mixtures and flavors on my dishes. My only troubling thing was deciding what to get as everything looked good to order. Food bought on my side was the beef and broccoli - easy to tear through the beef bits, glazed and marinated nicely, and the broccoli was cooked well. My crab rangoons (what this place is known for) was extremely crispy and still hot when I arrived to my friend's place with melty cheese goodness in the center. Last is the shrimp eggroll - crispy and a bit bigger in portion than I usually get at other locations. No complaints on any items ordered and they all tasted fantastic. Staff is very nice and professional too. They also make sure to not miss out on giving any utensils or sauces to go with your orders. A better option for takeout Chinese food compared to the other neighboring places in this area as noted by my friend and Astoria local.
