Sautéed Shanghainese Udon w Chicken (~$13)
    Aya E.

Ordered: Scallion Pancake with Beef Brisket (~$10) Chicken Soup Dumplings - 4pc (~$9) Sautéed Shanghainese Udon w Chicken (~$13) Aya's take: I've been meaning to try Bund mainly because of its convenient proximity to me. We decided to dine in for lunch and were seated right away. The service was lightening fast. Within minutes of us ordering, the Sautéed Shanghainese Udon w Chicken was at the table. It's a bit suspicious but if you're hungry and in a rush, I guess you won't question it. The noodles were bouncy, chewy, and very umami with the soy sauce flavor. There's a decent amount of chicken and I enjoyed the bok choy throughout as well. The Chicken Soup Dumplings were comforting and soothing. The dumpling is a bit too doughy for my taste. They also never offered us chili oil which is very common to have with soup dumplings. We asked for some but whichever one they have isn't even that spicy. The Scallion Pancake with Beef Brisket was the one I was most excited for and most disappointed with. The beef was mostly fat and had no flavor. They put way too much hoisin sauce which just overpowered the flavor of anything else. The pancake itself was crispy and flaky but it did not come together as well as others I've had in the past. Decent try!

Got them on ubereats, and the food was overall pretty good. The beef scallion pancake was super crispy and not soggy at all. It was a little too sweet for my liking, but still I enjoyed it. The peking duck buns were slightly overpriced in my opinion, but I still liked them! The delivery was pretty fast too (I believe they deliver themselves)

I want to preface that I got this order to go. The food came out 10 minutes after ordering so wait time was pretty good. And the portion size is very generous. I really appreciated that! But personally the flavors were a miss for me. It was a touch salty for me throughout and the flavor lacked depth. Nonetheless, I'm keen to go again and try a different dish.

For walking 10-15 minutes instead of taking a train out to flushing or Chinatown, this place is great for your immediate cravings! We got the mini pork wonton soup, roast pork bun, baby bok choy, and soup dumplings. The wonton soup was great for a rainy day and the bok choy was cooked just right for the crunchiness and savoriness of the garlic cooked within. The soup dumplings were decent but were missing an essence for me. Skin was nice and thin though. They use a lighter vinegar which doesn't pack as much punch as a dip. The roast pork bun was sadly very disappointing for me but it could be that I have higher standards for this. This place is not to be dismissed. I'd definitely come back for their noodles and rice cakes next time!

I've ordered from this place and I wanted to come in person. The food was honestly... a hit or miss!! The fried pan soup dumpling and pork and shrimp shumai were DELICIOUS. I wish there was a sauce, I asked for soy sauce and there was vinegar with the pan fried soup dumpling so I ended up mixing them and pouring them over to the food. Wanton in red chili sauce was good but it was definitely more sesame sauce than chili sauce. It was good and the wanton was stuffed. Curry bun, I wasn't a huge fan of:// It needed an oomph to the flavor. It felt like there were some curry-ish something inside but not quite. Inside is clean and the service were quick and efficient. And very inexpensive!! Also if you pay with cash and spend over $30 you could get a soup dumpling dish, which would make it so worth the visit. I would stick to traditional dim sum dishes next time.

Delicious variety of dumplings and full Chinese menu also. Fast service and friendly staff at this small location. The dumplings are the star but don't forget to try the food as well.

Newly launched dish at the restaurant!!!! They are now serving pho. The noodles and meat were good. Definitely would go back when I'm craving for pho in the area.

Cozy neighborhood gem with affordable tasty options! Everything was delicious but standouts were the Shanghainese pan fried pork soup dumplings, and the Dan Dan noodles. The crabmeat soup dumplings needed a little more flavor and the steamed roast pork buns needed more meat, however I enjoyed everything. If you want more flavor I recommend ordering the hot oil.

We were the only Asian in the shop 1. Salt and pepper fried chicken This honestly tasted better than it looks but it still wasn't the best. I thought it was too salty. 2. Soup dumplings I would've given this a 4 stars actually. I really liked it! Very soupy and the dumpling skin is thin. Most importantly it was $6.50 - I think it's very reasonable for New York prices. 3. Beef noodle 4. Spicy pork noodle Unfortunately, both noodles were more on the bland side. The broth is really bland and the noodles were slightly mushy and over cooked. The aunty serving us was really nice and spoke mandarin with us. I really wanted to like this spot but it isn't it for us :(

Needed dim sum and Yelp has done it. Came to this place and the food was absolutely insanely delicious! This is a small restaurant, BYOB, but the food was fresh and hot. The staff was great and took great care of our table. The food is affordable and place seemed to fill up quickly, which was great to see. I had the soup dumplings, pan friend soup dumplings (after reading I learned that they are known for this), Dan Dan noodles, and scallion pancake. I will officially be coming here 1x per month at least. Save a trip anywhere else and try this intimate, fresh, and comforting spot in Astoria!

Let me say I am so happy I was introduced to this place. The food is beyond amazing! My friends took me here the other night. Very authentic food. We had to try a lot of it! It was cold out so of course we had wonton soup and pork soup dumplings. They were so good. And for a good price! I was also curious about the black soup dumplings they were made of cuttlefish and had shrimp inside. They were interesting and worth a try! I love a spicy cucumber salad so we shared that with the table and some spicy noodles. So so good! If you are into this kind of food it is certainly a place to check out. Food is great, the service is quick. It is a little tight area inside. They do not serve alcohol. But they do have other kinds of drinks there.

Local, food was soo good: I had chicken soup dumplings and scallion pancakes. The service was great. 10/10.

    Do they service alcohol?

    Soft opening. BYOB!

    Anyone spot a menu?

I posted photos of this weekend's menu on their Yelp listing. I hear they're expanding it this week though.

Do you have any soup dumplings without pork, like lamb soup dumplings?

They have a lamb dumplings on the add on special menu. I went May 20th. I don't eat lamb so I'm not sure if it's good or not! Good luck!

The service was excellent and attentive throughout, and they even helped me track down a lost umbrella, which was much appreciated. The drinks and food were both highlights. The Jade Dragon was refreshing with just the right amount of spice and not overly sweet, while the Absinthe Minded was totally unique, a really interesting combination of flavors that worked surprisingly well. For food, the peppercorn fish stew was a standout: large portion, tender fish, tons of mushrooms, and a perfectly balanced level of heat. The garlic sauce eggplant was also excellent and very saucy in the best way and packed with flavor. Overall, a great spot with strong drinks, satisfying food, and thoughtful service.

We had the lucky coin tofu and the mala squid and chives (not pictured because I forgot lol) I loved the texture each and it made a great combo. The only con is that they charge for rice, which to me is a very cheap move. You know that nobody is going to eat this without rice! Why are we charging? My local takeout Chinese doesn't charge, so why should an upscale restaurant charge? I've been meaning to come to this place for a while and was not disappointed! The service was great. My friend wanted an IPA, but they ran out of the beer. She asked for a recommendation and the server ended up going to the kitchen and specifically finding an IPA for her. I had a sip and it was quite good! The restaurant was beautiful with lots of space! The seats were very comfy. I appreciate how they actually gave us good seats. Usually, restaurants will put you in the corner even if it's a full restaurant because it's convenient to them.

Shredded crispy duck is lean, crisp (living up to its name) and in my estimation, perfect! A half order is $33 and comes with crepes and what I guess is thin-cut celery and hoisin sauce. Our other two dishes merit maybe four stars. I had high hopes for prawns with black bean sauce and minced pork, but there was little pork and the dish was under-seasoned. Beaten egg white, a component of the sauce, was almost raw and when separated from the black beans, runny and unappealing. When I inquired about 'vegetarian delight,' our server suggested creating our own dish. Four sautéed vegetables for $16. I went with bok choy, broccoli, mushrooms and fried tofu. I asked for a flavorful sauce. I believe we got garlic, but it was too subtle, not garlicky enough.. Service is on-the-ball. Ambience is lovely. And Saturday night, hours before the dreaded snowstorm, the restaurant was busy. Reservations recommended.

The hostess and our various waiters (they all seem to assist all diners) were all very friendly and welcoming. We love to try new things so we had to check out the Little Alley Pig Ear appetizer, and I also wanted to try the Shanghai Crispy Eel. For entrees the husband ordered the Eight Delicacies in Chili Sauce and I got the Soft Shell Crab with Rice Cake. Pro tip- their appetizers and entrees are hefty, with two apps and two entrees we were stuffed at the end. The food! The pigs ears were our favorite thing we tried- they well seasoned and so unique I've never had anything quite like it. We didn't read the menu carefully and were surprised it was a cold dish- I imagined the crispy was from being fried but it's just the texture of the cartilage! It's probably not for everyone but I really enjoyed the new experience and the flavor and spice were great. The crispy eels were also tasty, though with such a large portion split between just two people I found the sweetness of the sauce a bit much. I started dipping them in the chili oil from the ears and enjoyed that, but I'd still only get the eel again with more than 2 people to split it. For entrees the 8 delicacies was tasty, all the meat was nicely cooked and tender, and the sauce was pleasant. I wasn't super wowed by this dish compared to some of the more interesting things we tried but it was a solid well-cooked entree. The fried soft shell crab over the rice cakes was delicious and again a very unique experience. I found the sauce a tad sweet but I think I was still a little over the eel dish so I may have been extra sensitive. That being said, it was fun and delicious and I'd eat it again! I can't remember the cocktails we bought, I know they were good but the food definitely distracted us! Little Alley was great overall and I'd love to go back to try some dumplings; sadly we were just too full at the end of the meal!
