Recently got takeout from this restaurant- Dan Dan noodles and the pork soup dumplings. Pork soup dumplings would 100% order again, I personally didn't find them too doughy and they hold a lot of soup inside!! The Dan Dan however did disappoint :( it was just really, really dry. Even when trying to mix it all up, it wasn't enough. I do want to try other items on the menu so looking forward to coming back at some point! read more

Unappetizing looking food, tasteless, and strange service. Literally got up and started cooking food myself after eating food from here (pictured) I ordered Uber eats from here and the system boggles my mind. They deliver on their own so there aren't any updates on the app as to whether your food is on the way, but the estimate is provided by the store. When i reached the latest arrival estimate, I called the store and they said they had no idea if the order was ready, being made, or even started yet. What??? The person who picked up the phone only seemed to know that she sent the order in to the kitchen but she had no idea on anything else - despite me placing the order over an hour ago at this point. We shouldn't have the same level of knowledge when you're physically at the store and work there. Once the food came.. it tasted as bad as the pics attached look. The wontons were just boiled and tasteless. Broth tasted just like straight water with a pinch of salt. We decided to dine in for lunch and were seated right away. The service was lightening fast. Within minutes of us ordering, the Sautéed Shanghainese Udon w Chicken was at the table. It's a bit suspicious but if you're hungry and in a rush, I guess you won't question it. The noodles were bouncy, chewy, and very umami with the soy sauce flavor. There's a decent amount of chicken and I enjoyed the bok choy throughout as well. The Chicken Soup Dumplings were comforting and soothing. The dumpling is a bit too doughy for my taste. They also never offered us chili oil which is very common to have with soup dumplings. We asked for some but whichever one they have isn't even that spicy. The Scallion Pancake with Beef Brisket was the one I was most excited for and most disappointed with. The beef was mostly fat and had no flavor. I wish there was a sauce, I asked for soy sauce and there was vinegar with the pan fried soup dumpling so I ended up mixing them and pouring them over to the food. Wanton in red chili sauce was good but it was definitely more sesame sauce than chili sauce. It was good and the wanton was stuffed. The staff was great and took great care of our table. The food is affordable and place seemed to fill up quickly, which was great to see. I've been to this restaurant for an elite event and I really remember the pan fried soup dumplings so I wanted to catch up w/ a friend who lives in the area and suggested we go here. We wanted to catch up and grab some dumplings. Here's what we ordered: - Edamame to start (the salt was all the way at the bottom of the bowl, we didn't realize it until the end) - Roast Peking Duck Bao - Pork Bao (my friend said it needed more sauce) - Pork Soup Dumplings (these were delicious! also note they come in 4s, we are use to getting 6 dumplings per order) - Pan seared soup dumpling (this is what I came for and it didn't disappoint, these also come in 4s and are very very hot! hotter than the regular soup dumplings) - a must try if you dine here Transportation-wise, it's not far from the subway (maybe a 5-8 minute walk) and parking can get a little hairy but doable. Heads up, the restaurant does not serve alcohol. And I'd say the prices here are pretty reasonable compared to other restaurants we dine at for dumplings. Speaking for their pickup and delivery (ordering direct), the food is always hot, service is great, the menu is extensive, and the prices are very fair. This is pretty much the only spot in the neighborhood for dim sum and Sichuan options so it's one of my go-tos. The soup dumplings are really good with thin skin and a flavorful broth. I think they are as good as or better than most soup dumplings I've had above Chinatown in Manhattan. I usually get scallion pancakes and Dan Dan noodles as well. The pan seared pumpkin rice cake with red bean filling is also a fun treat, though probably even better when dining in. The scallion noodles was pretty decent in that it was exactly that. It wasn't overly sauce-y nor bland. Had a nice bounce to them as well. The scallion pancakes with beef was SOOO crispy. It seem a little different from the usual ones I get but it still passes. The hoisin was good and not too much as some places that I've been to then to have too much hoisin or oyster sauce and it gets salty. The beef slices were small and not a lot but scallion pancakes are the star! The soup dumplings tho!!! I was actually very surprised. The broth was very flavorful and the skin was thin but not so thin that it'll break on you when you grab them from the steamer. Wished we got more soup dumplings... The curry puff dumplings came with 4 and all were packed full of curry flavor but not too much where it'll coat your how mouth. They were plated with some thick slices of cucumbers which were devoured ! The brisket and tripe was okay. I'm saying okay because it wasn't spicy and it didn't make me want it more. The brisket was a little thin to my liking, maybe that's why it wasn't spicy enough. Lastly, the Taiwanese fried pork chop over rice. I'll be honest I was so excited since I haven't had Taiwanese fried pork chop over rice in SOOOO long!. The ones here were bland and there were no sauce or anything. So everything was good but I would not order the Taiwanese fried pork chop over rice again. If it was more flavor and not just fried, I think it would improve it a lot. The skin isn't too thick, and pops easy once they're in your mouth. I've been reordering these the last few times, hoping they don't stick together and taste as good as the first time I ordered them. Yeah I will never visit this restaurant again. They aren't very cheap and I ordered two dishes. The first was fine but when I opened the second, I found a roach. When I called back, they wouldn't refund the whole order over the phone. I had to go back and show them. Really also enjoyed the scallion pancakes stuffed with brisket, both the pork and roast duck bao buns were addictive and loved how big their portions were of the garlicky cucumbers and their five spiced cold beef. Only thing we weren't a big fan of was the the sticky rice and bacon shaomei but I'm sure there's someone out there who does. I was happy to see sauteed Shanghainese rice cakes, different from how we Koreans eat them (usually spicy) but still really good. My friend and I originally want to go to La Mian Lounge, which is closed on Tuesdays as of now. This is the sister store of The Bund in Forest Hills. I haven't been there though it is on my to visit list. We receive a cup of water which is refilled constantly by the our waiter, Tom. We order the following: - Shanghainese Pan-Fried Shrimp Soup Dumplings with Cuttlefish Ink Wrap (4): recommended by Tom. First time I have a fried soup dumplings. If you are expecting cuttlefish taste in the skin, don't since there is no taste. You don't have to worry about the soup dumpling skin breaking since it's fried and creates a stronger crispy skin, which is less likely to break. The soup in the dumplings is a bit sweeter and larger than the pork dumpling dish. I liked it. - Bund Pork Soup Dumplings (4): bite-sized - the soup dumplings are smaller in size than other places. The skin can break easily so make sure you have your soup spoon ready. - Roast Peking Duck Bao (2): the picture on the menu looks better than the actual dish. There is skin in there if you are wondering. It is ok. - Garlic Cucumber Salad is very refreshing dish. The cucumbers are crispy. - Beef Stew Noodle Soup: if you can't handle spicy, you might want to request less spicy like I did. The spiciness comes from chili oil in the soup. The broth is tasty. The noodles are freshly made though not hand-pulled. The beef can be stringy after you bite it. My friend and I couldn't stop drinking the broth. As for the service, we were the only customer once the other table left so we got personalized attention. Around 6:30-6:45 PM, more customers came in and it got busier with Tom making sure the customers are taken care of and running around. There is one restroom which is clean though the tiles makes the room a bit dark. The soap dispenser didn't work too well so you had to pour the soap out to use.
