I had the lunch special and it was really good. I got the shrimp broccoli and it came with soup and a dim sum. For $13! Very pleased.

Was craving some really good dip sum and I was super happily satisfied ALL the dumplings we had were really sooo good, but the soup dumplings absolutely were the star. The sesame balls were our dessert and they were DELICIOUS. I still think about them.

How could I forget about this hidden gem within walking distance from Grand Central. The restaurant isn't that big, so if you have a large party you have to get there early for lunch. The menu has a good selection of dim sum options and regular Chinese food for the vegetarians and meat eaters. My friends and I got a little of everything and the food did not disappoint. Service was fast and food was delicious. You can't go wrong stopping by or ordering delivery.

Signature Dim Sum Platter (~$22)

Ordered: Seafood Pan-Fried Noodles (~$17) Signature Dim Sum Platter (~$22) Aya's take: It's been a while since I've had dim sum and when I saw this beautiful Signature Dim Sum Platter, I knew I had to stop by. This platter offers 9 different pieces that have shrimp, chicken, duck, beef, mushroom, egg custard, sesame, and more! Each bite was unique, full of flavor, and very fresh. One of the pieces had pork in it (shrimp with pork shumai), and they were able to swap it out for a regular shrimp shumai which I appreciated as a non-pork eater. The Seafood Pan-Fried Noodles didn't really hit the spot for me. The seafood was decent but the pan-fried noodles definitely needed a bit more of the sauce from the seafood to properly eat it (unless you prefer the crispy noodles). The chili sauce elevated the flavors a lot but I would probably order a different noodle dish next time. If you come here, definitely get the Signature Dim Sum Platter!

It was six friends and myself who met at Dimsum Garden, we were all pretty hungry. The inside is small, but they had a large table, to fit our large group. We first started with a pot of Chrysanthemum tea. I'm not sure how authentic this tea was, but it wasn't super flavorful. We got so much food, I don't have pictures of most of it, nor do I know what some of it was called. We had soup dumplings, sesame balls, crispy shrimp rolls, Turnip cake, spinach and chive dumplings, just to name a few. My favorite might have been the sesame balls, with red bean. These were both sweet and savory, so soft and chewy. I enjoyed the Turnip cake, this is best with oyster sauce. The shrimp rolls were crispy, crunchy and delightful. Everything was a hit amongst all of us. We arrived hungry, and left full. We had a true feast at Dimsum Garden.

Crispy Shrimp with Tofu Skin Roll (3 pcs)

Ordered delivery and it arrived quickly. The shrimp with pork shumai and har gow met expectations, while the crispy shrimp with tofu skin roll was a bit tough to chew. The sticky rice wrapped in a lotus leaf was flavorful. The dim sum platter was fun to eat, though we had a hard time identifying each item. One of them was a beef roll, and it was surprisingly good. Maybe we'll order that dim sum next time. The lobster with ginger and scallions over pan-fried noodles was outstanding, and I appreciated that it came with plenty of vegetables. Will definitely order again!

I like their box Dimsum like a bento. But this time I ordered soupy buns with shrimp and pork. Crispy (but was not) pork and a spinach filled dumpling with shrimp. I like the dumplings. Glad to have it in Midtown East without having to trek down Chinatown.

This place is relatively new I believe. I've been here twice now and they did not disappoint. It's also a nice addition to the area as I don't think there are too many other dim sum places that are close. It's isn't too big but probably a dozen or so tables. It can get busy too. They have dim sum as well as "regular" dishes as well. There's a menu where you can check off the dim sum items you want which makes it easy because there are pictures as well. I went with some dim sum and some regular dishes as well. Everything we had was delicious. The dim sum was really good. The service was good too. Accommodating and very nice. I'll definitely be back.

Solid option for authentic dim sum in that area! Cute restaurant but on the smaller side. Service was efficient.

Ate both at this location and ordered in. Consistently satisfying. From their dim sum to soups, vegetables you can't go wrong. An interesting and dynamic menu. Cozy and light interior, good service. Will continue to order from here often.

Food 5/5 Decent dimsum that I would come back. The price is also reasonable considering it is in Midtown. Although the dim sum option is limited, they have all the classic ones that you would usually order Service 5/5 There was no wait on a Sunday noon. You know how amazing that is for Manhattan? These days I just really appreciate that I don't have to wait for hours for a seat, especially it is for dimsum Ambiance 5/5 The place is clean, nice and well-decorated, which gives the feeling the this place is over priced, but it's really not. I would come back again

Dish highlights include the shrimp and chive dumplings, beef chow fun, and my personal favorite, the stuffed eggplant. Other items were a little bland, like the turnip cakes and har gow, and the pan fried shrimp noodles were awkwardly plated and made them difficult to eat. I also wish they had rice noodle rolls, which I didnt see on the menu. Really what pushed it to 5 stars to me was the service. We came as a huge group of 20, with a baby and stroller in tow, and they handled everything without so much as a grimace, just an outpouring of helpfulness. They sat half our group at a round table and the other half at a rectangular long table and also helped us navigate dietary restrictions, asking specifically who in the group had those restrictions. The menu is labeled too, so you know which items are vegetarian or gluten free. At one point our helpful server noticed we hadn't really touched that awkwardly plated noodle dish and offered to replace it with another. We didn't take him up on that as I'd find that wasteful but I thought that was so attentive and earned them a generous tip. The space is nice looking, and the food came out very quickly. We also didn't break the bank, even with plenty of drink orders. Dao's is an easy recommendation, especially when you factor in how seamlessly they handled our chaos.

I was browsing for places with scallion pancakes and I came across this restaurant. I saw they had a scallion pancake beef rook which I'd never seen before. It was fried and crispy on the inside with tender beef on the inside, that was slightly savory slightly sweet. I had the roll on its own, which made for a light meal, but it can also be enjoyed as a large snack. It was a little greasy, which can be expected, but not sure if I'd get it again. I did think it was innovative though. The most impressive thing about the restaurant was actually the space. I came to pick up my food and was surprised to see this beautiful place. The outside is unassuming and nothing special but inside has the aesthetic of an old Shanghai restaurant. It's ornate and slightly quirky. It's also really big, bigger than I expected. Even the bathrooms had traditional Chinese flare with the sliding doors. Definitely worth checking out,

It's also nicely decorated, which makes you feel like you're in China. It's definitely for a younger crowd with how loud this place gets. We had a huge party, so we ordered an array of dishes to share family style. Some of the most memorable dishes were the Mapo Tofu ($13.99), Hutaoli Roast Chicken ($43 for whole), Spicy Pot Potato ($19), Roasted Green Beans ($22), etc. All of the food is good, but definitely pricey. While the food also came out quickly, our drinks came out towards the end of our meal. It's a good spot for big parties as it never got too busy even on a Saturday night. They also have private rooms. The live music was fun, but also made it hard to have conversation.
