    Hot and sour soup
    Meredith R.

My friend and I have become boringly predictable. When I'm in NYC we meet Mondays at Saint Peter's Church, then search out lunch specials in the area. Today's choice: Dimsum Garden. For $12.99 you get a bowl of soup, either a spring roll or sesame ball, choice of entree and rice. I wouldn't designate five stars if this restaurant was based in Chinatown, but it's great as a midtown lunch stop, available till 3:30 weekdays. My hot & sour had the right amount of zing, though the broth was a bit thin. I asked for chicken and vegetables to be prepared moderately spicy. It was! And unlike restaurants that charge extra for brown rice, they don't here, at least at lunch. Dimsum Garden is modern. The staff is accommodating. Our booth was comfortable as G and I sat and chatted for almost two hours.

I think I'd wanna come back for regular dim sum rather than AYCE because service was really slow that it didn't feel like we really got a lot of dim sum. The dimsum was actually super fresh and really good but it was a little annoying that other tables got their dimsum more consistently vs ours. Some of the things we ordered never came or there were stretches where we were waiting on a lot of food. I didn't take pictures of everything but my friends and I (party of 6) came here so we ended up sharing almost everything on the menu

Tried the restaurants $29 ayce deal, which features a collection of the dimsum staples, a few specialty dimsum items, and some other Cantonese rice/noodle dishes. I see that other reviewers complained of the speed in the past, but I had an expedient experience while there. The dimsum was delicious, and comparable to the Chinatown restaurants. The carb dishes included in the ayce are also pretty tasty, but note that the portions are big so probably should beware to not over order!

I got the Signature Dimsum Platter delivered and it was a good amount of food! It was BOGO, though so definitely worth the price. The shrimp dumplings were definitely really shrimpy but decent. My favorites were the black truffle with mushroom, roasted duck, beef roll, and sesame ball! I do wish it was easier to figure out which item was which but I'd order this (BOGO) again.

Omg . The food was fantastic and we were service super fast. We had all you can eat means on a Saturday 11 to 3. You order 3 items per person at at time. One thing : the portion are big and you get charged for left overs, so take that into consideration when ordering. Enjoy !!! We sure did

Visiting the Big Apple this weekend, and craving something quick. I was craving Dim Sum and glad to know there was one near the hotel. When you walk in it was nice cozy modern decore and busy. The service was spot on. They have all you can eat price or A la carte. I opt for take out, and ordered "Shrimp w/pork shumai and stuffed shrimp eggplant" You can never go wrong with the Shuman, but the sauce for the stuffed eggplant I was not impressed. It was just black bean sauce on it. So next time I will just have it without the sauce. I will come back if I am ever in the area and just want something quick, but knowing me I will probably try other establishments.

Went to Dimsum Garden in Murray Hill, Manhattan, NYC near grand central station for lunch. Phenomenal service and the dimsum was the best I've had outside Brooklyn and as good as what I had in Flushing. The price is significantly higher than Brooklyn though. All the dishes were a hit. You mark down what you want on a sheet and they'll bring it. My friend liked the scallion pancake whereas I felt it fell flat. They also take apple and Google pay. We made reservations. They were busy at 130 pm on a Thursday but sat us right away

This restaurant is amazing at first I was a little skeptical because I didn't know what to expect but then I realize it's like little dumplings and mini meals and it was really cute. I couldn't make up my mind so I got the platter with just about everything I'm gonna say Eight out of 10 of the dumplings was so delicious and it was so cute and even though they're small and petite it was very filling. I really enjoyed myself. The people was nice. The atmosphere was quiet. I really enjoy. I'm definitely going back because I've have been feeding for their Beef and pepper bun wrapped in a nice philo pastry so good so I need to go back.

The food selection for the AYCE dim sum on Sunday was okay. There is less variety at this location than the location that was closed in flushing, and more expensive. The staff also doesn't tell you there's a 5% cash discount unless you ask. Overall the service was okay. The interior design was nice and modern though, so that was a plus.

    Crispy Sesame Ball

Overall was not very satisfying. Crispy Puff types dim sum (Black Pepper Beef);- the wrap is not crispy and mostly probably under-baked, has weird doughy texture. Crispy Sesame Ball - too thick of skin also under fried texture? Chicken Feet was the best dims sum). Lobster with Crispy Noodle - they didn't use the typical Cantonese crispy noodle but just fried the regular noodle, too thick and weird. Will not come back.

This place is solid for soup dumplings and hot and sour soup. It's a small place with mostly four seat tables and booths with a few two seaters. Service is prompt and friendly. The soup is too big for one person to finish. They don't serve single serving soups. Chicken feet were spot on and cooked perfectly. It's a reliable lunch spot with quick service.

Went to try on this domain place after we visited the Summit. It's a 10 mins walk and closed to Grand central station. They offer variety of dim sum and most of them are $7.5 for a plate of 3. They also have a dim sum platter/box with 9 different dim sum! Since that will be too much for 1 person so we opted out to order individual plates. I think the beef rolls are really good and you don't see that in typical dim sum restaurants. One of the lava bun was dried out so it didn't tasted like the running lava filling. It was just okayed. Service is good, server are attentive.

I pass by this place as I work nearby. I bookmarked it as well, so I finally got a chance to check it out. The service is like any other Chinese food or dim sum spot. They have happy hour deals here from Monday- Fridays. I didn't partake in that as I had to go back to work. There's a large paper menu that you would fill out, and they place the order from that, and it comes out in a timely manner. I went solo, which was fine bc I wanted to be quick and order whatever my heart desires without judgment. I got the 3 pieces of scallop and shrimp with pea sprout dumplings, the noodles in wonton soup (which comes with 4 pieces of wontons), and the beef tripe with ginger and scallion. They gave me the sauces to eat with it all, and I ate to my hearts content. I saw the all-day take out lunch menu deal, which I will have to order one of these days too.

Dish highlights include the shrimp and chive dumplings, beef chow fun, and my personal favorite, the stuffed eggplant. Other items were a little bland, like the turnip cakes and har gow, and the pan fried shrimp noodles were awkwardly plated and made them difficult to eat. I also wish they had rice noodle rolls, which I didnt see on the menu. Really what pushed it to 5 stars to me was the service. We came as a huge group of 20, with a baby and stroller in tow, and they handled everything without so much as a grimace, just an outpouring of helpfulness. They sat half our group at a round table and the other half at a rectangular long table and also helped us navigate dietary restrictions, asking specifically who in the group had those restrictions. The menu is labeled too, so you know which items are vegetarian or gluten free. At one point our helpful server noticed we hadn't really touched that awkwardly plated noodle dish and offered to replace it with another. We didn't take him up on that as I'd find that wasteful but I thought that was so attentive and earned them a generous tip. The space is nice looking, and the food came out very quickly. We also didn't break the bank, even with plenty of drink orders. Dao's is an easy recommendation, especially when you factor in how seamlessly they handled our chaos.

I was browsing for places with scallion pancakes and I came across this restaurant. I saw they had a scallion pancake beef rook which I'd never seen before. It was fried and crispy on the inside with tender beef on the inside, that was slightly savory slightly sweet. I had the roll on its own, which made for a light meal, but it can also be enjoyed as a large snack. It was a little greasy, which can be expected, but not sure if I'd get it again. I did think it was innovative though. The most impressive thing about the restaurant was actually the space. I came to pick up my food and was surprised to see this beautiful place. The outside is unassuming and nothing special but inside has the aesthetic of an old Shanghai restaurant. It's ornate and slightly quirky. It's also really big, bigger than I expected. Even the bathrooms had traditional Chinese flare with the sliding doors. Definitely worth checking out,

Some of the most memorable dishes were the Mapo Tofu ($13.99), Hutaoli Roast Chicken ($43 for whole), Spicy Pot Potato ($19), Roasted Green Beans ($22), etc. All of the food is good, but definitely pricey. While the food also came out quickly, our drinks came out towards the end of our meal. It's a good spot for big parties as it never got too busy even on a Saturday night.
