Dim Sum Palace is my favorite dim sum place in NYC! I haven't been to Dim Sum Palace for a few years and have been craving dim sum recently so was excited to come back. One thing about them is that they don't serve food from carts, but instead they're made to order. It can take a while, but that also means their food comes out hot! I had their spare ribs, char siu bao, shrimp dumpling, shu mai, and their turnip cake. I really liked them all!

The dim sum here is alright. When you walk in, you're seated at a table and given a sheet of paper to fill out your order (instead of having carts be pushed around). Service here is attentive and pretty quick. My friend and I ordered a couple of their dumplings and dim sum items (as opposed to entrees) and thought it was alright. Nothing really stood out, but it wasn't bad either!

it's pretty good if you're looking to fulfill your dimsum craving, not the best ive had but def an option if youre nearby the food: i 100% rec the pork shumai, hargow, beef chow fun, and the cucumbers. the filling on each of the dimsum is very filled to the brim! the beef chow fun has tender beef and tons of bean sprouts, and the cucumber is sooo crispy crunchy. the space: semi big the service: service was okay, but the food took foreverrrr to come out

My husband and I love Korean food and we absolutely love Dim Sum! While reviewing different restaurants on Google, we decided to give dim sum palace a try. We are absolutely happy we did. We ordered two of the lunch specials as well as pork buns, soup dumplings, and shrimp dumplings! All of the items that we ordered were absolutely good. Service was outstanding. Both the waiters were attentive and pay attention attention to our needs. I greatly appreciate that. The restaurant is tidy small and cozy. I would definitely come back.

A casual spot that offers both dimsum and traditional chinese food dishes. Ordered beef and broccoli and shrimp hargow which were both tasty but costly in price. My beef and broccoli which wasn't a family size portion was around $20 and the dumplings around $6-8. The beef dish did not even come with rice which is optional for an additional cost. Service was very friendly and attentive - I asked for multiple sauces and my water cup was constantly full. Overall felt like this spot was expensive for being in such a casual setting. If you bring cash you are eligible for a discount!

Came here with a large party and had a variety of dim sum dishes, all of which were excellent. Huge fan of everything, and the staff were really friendly. Nothing to complain about, would definitely go back!

We came here after a couples massage since it was close by on a Friday at around 8 pm without reservations. The place was packed. The seating is almost along a long hallway. We waited about 10 minutes to sit down, so not too long for a Friday without reservations. We got an old fashioned and a mango mojito as cocktails. My husband enjoyed his old fashioned, my mojito had very little mango in it and no hint of alcohol. The food came out rather quickly. We got bbq pork buns to start. They weren't what we were expecting, they had a piece of paper underneath each which was so stuck to them that my husband didn't notice and had paper in his when he bite into it. It was sticky and the texture was off, the inside was sweet. Neither one of us enjoyed it. The general tso's chicken was probably the best thing we ate. One of the first times I had it where the chicken looked like actually chicken breast and it wasn't breaded beyond recognition. The shrimp house fried rice was ok, it wasn't a favorite. It has small shrimp, but they were not deveined which always grossed me out, a few scallops. Overall I would come back again and try other dishes

Lunch with friends during the week...come early to beat the lunch crowd otherwise it will be a wait for a table. Luckily, we got here just in time to get the last table of six available. Everyone was hungry and dim sum is always fun to eat with friends. Order several items to share so you can try as many things on the menu. Service and staff were good. Food came out fairly quick. Picture menu definitely helps - just put in the quantity of the items you want and give to your server when ready. Best to give them everything at once. If you want to order more later, then just ask for another menu or ask of any specific item. They also have drink menu as well...cocktails and adult beverages have to wait til after work and weekends! We had a variety of dishes to share: Turnip cake - always a favorite scallion pancake - yum steamed pork bun - filling soup dumplings - be careful not to let the juice spill on you roast duck spring rolls - was ok, prefer the regular spring rolls shumai - yum, a fave beef chow fun - a staple Too full for dessert, but do recommend the coconut bar. Sesame balls are good when they are hot and fresh as well. Overall, prices are a tad higher than having in dim sum in Chinatown and there are no carts going around. Good to make the trek over once in awhile when in the area. Note: If you pay with a credit card, there is a slight surcharge vs paying in cash like most restaurants these days.

Well, we found ourselves in Koreatown, but for some reason our party of 4 had a hankering for a dim sum lunch. Probably because there were 2 Chinese in our party and only 1 Korean lol. No problem as Yelp pointed us to this very walkable place and it turned out mighty fine. It was pretty busy for lunch time on a Labor Day and we also found prices to be unsurprisingly elevated given that it's mid-town Manhattan after all. We had a variety of fresh, delicious, and fulfilling dim sum for $78.88 pre-tip. The learning for us was you don't have to go to a Chinatown for decent dim sum in NYC. Another learning is if you see a busy place in Manhattan, they're likely doing something right. ps - there is a 3.5% credit card charge, but at least they are upfront about it.

Okay so there is definitely some nuance for this Dim Sum Palace. It's a 3/5 stars if we're just reviewing the dim sum and shop overall. Mainly because you can definitely get waaaaay better dim sum in Chinatown or Flushing or Brooklyn and there would also be way more options as selection is limited here. It's a 4/5 stars if you happen to be craving dim sum while in this specific area and for some reason cannot make it to Chinatown/Flushing/Brooklyn for better dim sum. Let's be honest, it's the theater district in midtown Manhattan so there won't be many other dim sum options besides Dim Sum Palace and this place will do the job! It has most of the bare basic dim sum items plus some specialities and also there are main Chinese dishes and entrees too if you were looking for more than just dim sum. Pricing is definitely not as favorable than Chinatown dim sum but you're in midtown! The items that we chose were very solid! Some other commenters had mentioned it could be a hit or miss for other items but the dishes we had were safe bets. Soup dumplings were OK but you shouldn't get soup dumplings at any dim sum place in general haha. Staff members were nice and service was quick. The place itself is long so can fit a good amount of people but not super overwhelming like many other spots in Chinatown so if you're looking for a little cozy joint in midtown Manhattan for dim sum, this might be your spot.

In 2025, do they still offer 50% off dim sum 3p to .5p Monday-Friday? Thanks

I asked in 2024 when I visited and they stopped HH on Dim Sum. They still had HH on drinks though

We're looking to go to the Dim Sum Palace near the Empire State building. Is there likely to be a long wait at opening at 10:30am on a Sunday? Or would it be better to go more like 11:30am?

I don't think they open that early

    YES!

Any issues using the Pulsd voucher?

None whatsoever! All you do is pay tax and tip on the original amount.

    Do they take reservations?

    Yes, they do.

Is their a code for the happy hours 50% off if placing an order online?

Happy hour is dine in only. Weekdays from 3PM-5PM

Do they serve dim sum everyday or just sunday?

Dish highlights include the shrimp and chive dumplings, beef chow fun, and my personal favorite, the stuffed eggplant. Other items were a little bland, like the turnip cakes and har gow, and the pan fried shrimp noodles were awkwardly plated and made them difficult to eat. I also wish they had rice noodle rolls, which I didnt see on the menu. Really what pushed it to 5 stars to me was the service. We came as a huge group of 20, with a baby and stroller in tow, and they handled everything without so much as a grimace, just an outpouring of helpfulness. They sat half our group at a round table and the other half at a rectangular long table and also helped us navigate dietary restrictions, asking specifically who in the group had those restrictions. The menu is labeled too, so you know which items are vegetarian or gluten free. At one point our helpful server noticed we hadn't really touched that awkwardly plated noodle dish and offered to replace it with another. We didn't take him up on that as I'd find that wasteful but I thought that was so attentive and earned them a generous tip. The space is nice looking, and the food came out very quickly. We also didn't break the bank, even with plenty of drink orders. Dao's is an easy recommendation, especially when you factor in how seamlessly they handled our chaos.

I was browsing for places with scallion pancakes and I came across this restaurant. I saw they had a scallion pancake beef rook which I'd never seen before. It was fried and crispy on the inside with tender beef on the inside, that was slightly savory slightly sweet. I had the roll on its own, which made for a light meal, but it can also be enjoyed as a large snack. It was a little greasy, which can be expected, but not sure if I'd get it again. I did think it was innovative though. The most impressive thing about the restaurant was actually the space. I came to pick up my food and was surprised to see this beautiful place. The outside is unassuming and nothing special but inside has the aesthetic of an old Shanghai restaurant. It's ornate and slightly quirky. It's also really big, bigger than I expected. Even the bathrooms had traditional Chinese flare with the sliding doors. Definitely worth checking out,

Some of the most memorable dishes were the Mapo Tofu ($13.99), Hutaoli Roast Chicken ($43 for whole), Spicy Pot Potato ($19), Roasted Green Beans ($22), etc. All of the food is good, but definitely pricey. While the food also came out quickly, our drinks came out towards the end of our meal. It's a good spot for big parties as it never got too busy even on a Saturday night.
