Excellent bbq food. I enjoyed everything the burnt ends, brisket, the Mac, the corn bread. I honestly don't think anything you order will taste good. I love this place. I could end my review with this statement alone. I have been here six times and have never had anything short of a great experience. The food is delicious. The baby back ribs are among the best I've ever had, and the collard greens make me want to cry tears of joy. They have a diverse range of beers on tap (that change seasonably) in addition to a full bar and interesting, tasty cocktails (boba spritz?). The outdoor area is huge and spacious, and it's also dog friendly. I like that even though it sometimes gets packed, there's still plenty of room to move around. They've also made it very handicap accessible, which I always find impressive (even though I'm not handicapped). Overall a great place to meet up, especially for larger groups.
I was one of the lucky few who won the Chili Cook off at Pig Beach with Yelp. My first time so was shocked when Samantha messaged me to say I won. She came with her mother and I got a super sweet shot of them. I got there a little before noon. They were still getting set up so waited outside for a short time. They were kind enough to let me use the restroom first. Immediately I met Amanda and Bernice. We all started talking and learned they were Yelp Elites like me and since I was by myself I asked and joined them. They are so nice! We walked around the whole venue and being Yelpers I found our taste in food was similar. We all wound up liking the same vendors. So stuffed! Portions were generous! Since we were VIP we had the place to ourselves for the first hour before general public at 1pm. We tried the vendors who were ready and went back to try those we passed since they weren't ready. It was a pretty big space with indoors and outdoors. It was a nice sunny day so a bit hot already but we would cool off in the shade. I love love my time today hanging out with my Yelp family who are amazing folks! So blessed to be part of a group who care about businesses and trying new things as well as meeting folks.
I rarely venture out to this area, but came here for a birthday celebration. The space is huge, but still packed on a Saturday night. It's great for large groups as ordering is cafeteria style and there's multiple bars throughout the space. I got the Meat & 2 for $28, which includes a meat and 2 sides. I got the 1/2 Rack of Ribs, which were tender. I was between that and the brisket and glad the server recommended the ribs for me. For the sides, the mac and cheese were delicious and purple coleslaw had lots of dressing yet still refreshing. Overall, the meal was delicious but a bit pricey for one. I also got myself a Surfside ($9) in a can, which I enjoyed. One thing I do have to note is how confusing ordering can be. It's cafeteria style, so you pick your sides, non-meat items, and then the meat. But if you're just picking whatever you want, it can really add up so you need to make sure you choose the right items for your combo.
Pig Beach is a VIBE for sports watching. We went to watch the Mexico-Ecuador game, and it was already at standing room only capacity at 7pm for a 9pm start. My friends and I were raving about the food; I especially loved the wings and the mac n cheese. It's pretty fairly priced as well. Our drinks were also good; we had margaritas all night. I definitely recommend showing up early for any games, but there is plenty of space to sit or stand since the restaurant is huge. Staff were all super friendly and helpful.
My boyfriend and his family raved about this place to me, so of course I had to come here with them to experience it myself! It was definitely an experience walking in as it felt super chill and casual, and you order at the counter as though you were a high school kid in the cafeteria during lunch time, which I thought was kind of fun! The menus are above and definitely legible and easy to follow along, and the staff were friendly and helpful as we figured out what we wanted. There was also an array of sauces to choose from, where there are plates and small containers to fill up on their special BBQ sauces (their labels will tell you which ones are spicier!). I had ordered a can of Cherry Coke and a Combo 2, which includes 2 meats and 2 small sides. For the meats, I chose 1/3 lb Burnt Ends and 1/4 lb Brisket. Both were extremely tender and delicious, and full of flavour! For my sides, I went with Mac and Cheese and the Collard Greens. The Mac and Cheese feels so classic and amazing, and the Collard Greens were very flavourful. We couldn't finish everything so we took some lids and boxes to bring the rest home, and I can't wait to come back here some other time and try more things!
Their food is fine but aside from their occasional wing deals is overpriced. If it wasn't bad enough price gouging with the food prices, then the recent $40 cover charges for world cup games. And if they could charge more they absolutely would - a photo from their Instagram showing the ridiculous prices they originally wanted to charge for some games. This place used to be a once-in-a-while treat just due to how close it is to the theater. I don't see myself coming here anymore.
Better late than never... forgot to take food pics (that's how good it was!). Went to a Knicks Watch Party at Pig Beach BBQ in Astoria and the vibe was a fun and energetic one The brisket... I can't even begin to explain how delicious it was, and it basically melted in your mouth. I chose the cornbread and Cole slaw sides... also solid choices. Loved the outdoor space and the staff was very accommodating for our party. Overall it was a fun night.
Solid bbq spot in my opinion. Interestingly set up, you basically get on a cafeteria style line and get your sides first then you go on to get your meats. We went to Pig beach BBQ for trivia night and it was pretty awesome, the places were not packed at all which I believe is the opposite from Summer time! There is a separate line where you order food and later pay for it and there is also plenty of room to join! The trivia night was hosted by nexus and it was definitely so much fun. The host was really entertaining and I love that Pig Beach does that! Ambiance and food were delicious, the brisket ought to be hotter, I would suggest to add some warm honey to the cornbread. Finally, whatever you do, do not forget to order the Purple coleslaw! It was perfection

I have to lower this rating after eating at more and more BBQ spots in different states etc . This place is mid at best and very Inconsistent! Chewy Brisket ,the wings are hit or miss and the Mac and cheese is very basic . Only the fries are consistent which is not saying much Smdh. This is basic BBQ in nyc and if this restaurant were in any southern state it would be empty ! 3 stars and I'm probably being generous .

Honestly, the concept of this place is so chill, and I love the overall atmosphere. It's a great spot to bring a group of friends, especially with the way the venue is set up and the different games that are available throughout. The actual BBQ is cafeteria-style. You go through the line and pick what you would like and add it to your tray, paying for the total at the end, where the condiments and utensils are located. The bar is in the center of the place. You come in and seat yourself, and honestly, the TVs are everywhere, so don't worry too much about not getting a good table. You'll be able to watch your game from anywhere. The actual food was great-the brisket was beautifully seasoned and very tender. We were honestly so addicted to it. The wings, especially the dry rubs, were honestly perfectly done-they had a nice char and smokiness, but the flavors were strong. All the sides paired perfectly with the different meats, and THAT CORNBREAD??? Man, I could eat a hundred of those. I think my favorite sides were the greens and the mac n cheese, super comforting. Also, the pitchers they had were honestly great and perfect for big crowds. I would 1000% recommend this kind of sports bar for bigger groups of friends. The food and atmosphere is great, but they really need to figure out crowd control at this venue. I do assume that the cover they've been charging during big sports games probably helps, but the last time I was here it was only half full and the line to get food wrapped around the entire place and was almost out the door. There has to be a better way to organize this. All that aside, Pig Beach is where you want to come when you're craving BBQ on a nice day. The venue is mostly outdoors with a few indoor tables and two bars. Drinks here are well priced and the specials are even better - I paid $5 for a tequila spritz last time I was here. The meat here is really tender and the sides absolutely slap. Even if you're coming here with a vegetarian there are solid options - the mac and cheese and cole slaw are my favorites. Also I never thought I'd be okay with paying $7 for pickles but the half sours here absolutely slap. Last time I went here I had the ribs which were huge and tender, and the jalapeno cheddar sausage that I def didn't need but it was so, so good. If you're coming here to watch a popular game, get here early to snag a spot. read more
Been here a few times now. First of all , one of the best happy hours in town for both food and drinks! Second, TVs are every where. For big games like world cup, they even have the sound on, even for the outdoor benches area with the huge projector screen. Third, possibly the best bbq and corn bread in NY. I have worked in dallas and I must say the BBQ here is equally as good. Brisket and ribs are my top choice. DO NOT MISS OUT ON THE CORN BREAD! read more

The place was crazy busy. You needed to scream to be heard. You could barely walk. It's open to the outdoors so it was freezing. There are stickers all over which is cool. Bathrooms were disgusting. No toilet paper, stalls were dirty, as was the floor. The line for food was wrapped out the whole place. We had to wait over an hour before we could eat. Drinks were easier to get. Saying all that the staff were nice (minus the guy at the door) and the food was good. I really enjoyed the cornbread though it wasn't hot despite them taking it out of a hotbox. The Mac n cheese was good. They ran out of the s'mores dessert. The fries were tasty. The people I was with liked the meat. Prices were pretty good. Everything looked good. They have to go containers out which I appreciated. They have claw machines and a Photobooth. Lots of tvs. read more
Large space good for groups. I don't think they take reservations so may need to get there early if you need more than one table. The large backyard is popular in warmer temps and they sometimes have sports games on a large screen back there. You order food cafeteria style, with beverages and desserts available to order at the register. For alcoholic beverages, go to the bar. I really liked most of the food I've tried here. My go-to are the hot honey dry rubbed wings. Some days/times there are really good wings specials but this visit (large group for a birthday) they were regular price. Liquor and cocktails here are thend to be a little overpriced for what you get, but I'm unable to drink beer. Spontaneously I decided to check out this eatery that has a reputation for great BBQ. I mean when you look up or ask about BBQ this establishment comes up a lot. On the approach it appeared unassuming. It wasn't trying to work you from the outside. Right as I enter the place expands right before my eyes with a warm industrial feel. I must have been walking for quite some time because mental exhaustion accumulated it seems. I was like one of those silly people you smile at so they don't think you're secretly judging them. The staff was nice and helpful however which was a good start. They directed me how to order and even didn't laugh at my dumb questions. The bartender was super helpful as he was the first one I stumbled upon. Down to the meat of the experience (pun intended). The brisket sandwich was perfect. The brisket itself the star of the show. Sweet, savory, meaty, fatty and somehow also crispy. The beans with pork were great too. Might be the best brisket I've had in a long time or ever. Washed it down with a 7 dollar IPA on tap. Oh did I mention it's 5 dollars between 3-6 pm? Well I kinda wish I had a late lunch but based on everything so far I will be coming back for that. Lovely lunch and back to the bartender as he was very nice and accommodating as I sat there like I never had BBQ before. Good conversation about how we've both been in the service industry for what seems like entirely too long. Great place. I would recommend highly to anyone who likes BBQ and well priced beers. Oh and they have some pinball and arcade hops if that means anything to you lol. read more

Just wrapped a photo shoot next door and this Texas boy had to try the nyc bbq. The staff was friendly and helpful. One guy in the service line was wearing a Terry Blacks BBQ hat which is in Dallas. Been there a couple times and great food. I decided to get the sampler with corn bread and a key lime pie. The cornbread was moist and like cake. Def couldn't finish it all. Good but prefer my cornbread a bit grittier. The Mac and cheese and potato salad were decent. The turkey was great. Brisket was solid. The ribs were meh. Overall not bad. read more

The brisket cheesesteak was amazing - combining the brisket with cheese and caramelized onions is a unique taste on the classic cheesesteak. Combined with the bread, this was a great sandwich to eat. However, the BBQ itself was alright. My friend ordered the brisket and pork ribs, but neither one of those compared to BBQ joints in Texas. The mac-n-cheese was also pretty mid. I would recommend getting one of their sandwiches or other entrees here, not the actual BBQ. Outside of food, this place is amazing for watching sport games. They have a huge outdoor dining area with a large screen for watching games. There's no better vibe than eating good food, drinking beer, and sitting outside in good weather watching football or basketball. Overall, I would recommend this place if you want to go somewhere to watch sports while also enjoying good food. read more

Meat & 2 Combo: Beef brisket 10/10 Mac n cheese: 5/10. It lacked flavor. Just plain cheese and noodles taste. Buffalo wings: 7/10 Perfect size, not too big. They lacked the buffalo taste though, they were more on the sweet side. Not very crispy, from sitting in the box, it produced steam. But they weren't too bad. Collard greens: 10/10 the best collard greens I've tasted from any restaurant, hands down. The service was good. 8/10 The ambience was decent. 7/10 Alot of construction workers come here, they can be loud and a bit over bearing but thankfully the restaurant was spacious so we changed our seats to the back of the restaurant. read more
The BBQ ribs were tasty and tender. They needed no extra sauce, and Pig Beach BBQ makes five free sauces that customers can add on. I tasted all five, and I like the Tangy Vinegar and the Classic BBQ sauce the best. The Gowanus Cold Beer that I ordered from the bar perfectly counteracted the richness of the ribs. At my request, a server gave me a sample of the Mac and Cheese. It tasted like Kraft Macaroni and Cheese. I did not like it. I also asked for a sample of the Beef Brisket (salt and pepper crust). It was much too salty and peppery for me. My order of cornbread tasted like it was made from a box. The key lime pie was a tad too sweet. Pig Beach does not accept Discover Cards or Apple/Google Pay, so bring your debit cards, Master Card/Visa or cash. I might come back and try some other things from the menu because the service was wonderful, and the ambiance is perfect for date night. read more
Walk up the ramp and enter this massive space. Paper menus are available and instructions are clear to line up to place your order. The cuisine is served cafeteria style to generate salvation and encourage you order some of everything. We had the sampler for two with the large side of purple slaw Of course; we had to add a piece of cornbread which was mouthwatering. Another friend ordered two orders of wings and my preference was the dry rub. We were joined by two more and the cuisine was shared by five. Hats off to the bartender. read more

Love how you get your own food and sit anywhere you like. Everything we got was tasty and moist. Brisket and pulled pork is a fan favorite. They have plenty of sauce to choose from and it's self serve. Great for large parties and celebrations. The workers are all friendly and they have water you can serve yourself with. Full bar with seating as well as outdoor open yard. read more

Loved it. There's something for everyone here, as I enjoyed the pulled pork and brisket while the person I was with enjoyed the turkey and ribs. They have a variety of sauces to choose from, and the combo platters actually allow you to try a variety. Lots of space indoors and didn't feel too crowded, so I'll definitely be back here! read more

Charges you at the door for an entrance fee. Which is fine if it wasn't so ghetto. People were throwing chairs metal ice buckets and standing on tables fighting. A woman that looked like she was 120lb or so got a whole hair flung at her and was not responding. SHAME ON THIS COMPANY AND SECURITY! read more

Lots of TVs playing all kinds of games. You could ask them to put on a specific game if it's not already playing and you know what station it's on.
