Not sure if it's the same owners but I used to frequent the old Chinese place that was here years ago, so I decided to try this place to see difference. They are now more of a Chinese and Thai place now which is a good thing. The restaurant isn't too big but I would like just over a dozen booths or and it's set up long way. I think Booth seats are the best way to go. The delivery is fast and food is fresh. My go to place in this area for sure

Beef Fried Rice & Fried Chicken Wings

As you know when you have a craving you simply have to give in. I've been craving one of my all time favorite meals, Chicken Wangs! Fried hard, cut in half, with the tip removed. Of course I placed a double order. I changed my mind at least four times before I decided on what else I wanted besides the wings. The woman over the phone was the absolute sweetest. She didn't rush me to make up my mind and she didn't get upset when I changed my mind more than once. As I was perusing the menu I realized that Asian Fortune is a Chinese and Thai restaurant that offers a little bit of everything for everyone. I ended up adding curry puffs and beef fried rice sans the veggies and eggs to my takeout order. The wings weren't seasoned the way I like, they were just ok. I didn't taste any salt which I'm not a fan of, but what about the rest of the seasonings? I'm hoping that was just a bad batch. Also the beef fried rice tasted oddly light and fresh. It wasn't your typical fried rice. I can't explain it although the beef wasn't cooked to my liking. They looked a little pale in comparison to other restaurant's beef fried rice. I'm not sure if it was on the bland side because I didn't ask for veggies, eggs, or onions. I ended up removing the beef from the rice, adding a bit of soy sauce and extra duck sauce which helped a little bit. The curry puffs look more like mini empanadas stuff to capacity with veggies, potatoes, and chicken blended perfectly to fit into the fried turnover. They also came with a delicious tangy sauce. They didn't look like your standard curry puffs you'd order from a Thai restaurant, but they were tasty nonetheless. The downside was that my order took over an hour to be delivered and I live about 2 miles away. Also I would think ordering over a certain dollar amount would come with a complimentary soda, soup, or Egg roll. I enjoyed the extra sauce and the fortune cookies. I don't remember the last time I received fortune cookies so that was an unexpected yet nice surprise.

Thai restaurant in Forest Hills. Worst Thai in the area just waist of money. Calamari is to greasy and horrible texture. Duck is not fresh no flavor at all just greasy skin with flavor of old fat.

Big menu with lots of options. All traditional Thai and Chinese dishes are available and as far as I've experienced, they stand up to any quality restaurant serving the same dishes. My go-to's include vegetarian General Tso's Bean Curd, Vegetable Egg Roll, and Crab Rangoon. I recommend all of these.. The General Tso's Bean Curd has a balanced flavor that delivers the flavor the chicken version would. Vegetable Egg Roll is the best in Forest Hills, as far as I know. What seems like the sweet taste of cinnamon infused into the roll, providing a unique experience. Crab Rangoon is just an American / Chinese appetizer mixing imitation crab meat and cream cheese with an ultra-tangy red sauce! It's as tasty as it sounds.. If you ask for a something to have less oil or sauce, to make it a little more healthy, they will oblige! That's the case with another favorite - Vegetable Lo Mein. Customer service is excellent. Polite girls answer the phone and make it easy to get your order through. Delivery is always relatively quick. Never had a problem there. Negatives? The soups are all good, I just wish there was a vegetable broth option. They tend to stick to the classic recipes and don't stray from it (even if you ask).

They've also updated the ambience, making it feel cozier. I spoke with Jacob, the assistant manager, about my previous experience and the complimentary meal that was promised regarding the cockroach incident. He said he needed to verify it with the manager or business owner, and after 10-15 minutes came back to let me know the owner approved 50% off the whole meal. While I appreciated the gesture, I did feel it fell a little short of what was originally promised as a full complimentary meal. What stood out most this visit was Jacob himself. He told me he vividly remembered my party from that night because he was the one who seated us -- and he sincerely apologized for what happened. That acknowledgment genuinely meant a lot. They also gifted me a free mug, which was a sweet touch. The food and atmosphere continue to impress, and the staff clearly cares. I just hope the follow-through on promises matches the warmth of the service going forward.

My only note is that it could've used more greens. The single layer of lettuce on the bottom didn't quite cut it. I understand why it's done that way, adding more might make it soggy, but something like crisp like raw string beans or haricots verts could add both freshness and volume without sacrificing texture. Still, overall, I really really enjoyed it! The grilled beef over vermicelli was solid, fresh and flavorful, but the small container of fish sauce wasn't quite enough to tie everything together. Unfortunately, the spring rolls were a letdown. They were rolled unevenly, which led to uneven frying, and they just didn't look very appealing. They were also thinner than typical Vietnamese spring rolls, which was disappointing given the price.

The food is flavorful and great portions. The pho had enough meat and noodles. The broth was great and not incredibly salty as some other places. The rice dishes were plentiful and superb serving of meat. The sandwich would have been a solid winner if they didn't pack it in aluminum foil which causes sogginess. I would recommend using the paper/waxy bags or even just a paper bag to maintain the crispiness of the bread. But a softer bread did not takeaway from the powerful punch of flavor and the right balance of ingredients in the sandwich. Divine! So tasty and would get it again - perhaps I'll toast it on my own. Definitely a good banh mi choice in Queens. The price is fantastic. Keep it this way and you'll have a constant fan base returning. Great food, great prices and service was fast and kind when I went to pick up. On top of that, their interior looks adorable so would consider dining in next time. This restaurant will now be on our rotation of Viet spots. Wishing them much success.

Spring rolls were crisp and straightforward, exactly what you expect. Service continues to be a strength. Attentive without hovering, and everything came out on time. The kitchen is still reliable. It's not in Manhattan, but I'm telling you -- it's worth the trip. It's located right next to Little Thailand and easy to find with Google Maps. One downside is that the space is very small. They only have four small tables for two and one larger table for 3-4 people, so it might be difficult for bigger groups unless you make a reservation. We arrived right after they opened, and not long after, the whole place was packed. Besides the size, the restaurant is really pretty and cozy. The menu is interesting and offers a wide variety of dishes -- fried, stir-fried, grilled, soups, and more. Here's what we ordered: Crab Fried Rice - We ordered it without much thought, just to try it, and it ended up being one of the best Thai dishes we've ever had. Even my husband (who is Laos/Thai) loved it. He rarely gets to eat crab because his mom has a severe allergy, so this was special for him too. (We forgot take picture lol) Crispy Pork Belly - Served super hot and crispy. I love that they battered it instead of just deep-frying it plain. It had great texture and was so flavorful. Tum Thai (Thum Mak Hoong) - We ordered it very spicy and asked if they could make it Laos-style. They tried, and it was pretty good. It was slightly lacking the strong fermented fish sauce (padek) punch that gives it that bold, pungent flavor. But honestly, it's still very close to Northern style -- just more approachable and less intense, so more people can enjoy it. Sticky Rice - Served the traditional way in a bamboo basket (aep khao) with a lid, which keeps it piping hot. I love when restaurants keep it authentic like that. We wanted to order more because there were so many options, but just three dishes were already enough for us -- we even had leftovers. They packed everything very securely; I carried the papaya salad around all day and it didn't spill at all. It is pretty pricey, but honestly, it's worth trying at least once for the quality and authenticity. We'll definitely bring his parents here next time we're back in NYC.
