Super fast service (as always). Their large Pho bowls are not as big as some other places, but taste amazing. Most of all, I love their spring rolls. Fried to perfection. So crispy! Don't like that they are a cash only business.
Came on a Friday evening with a group of three and this place was packed! We were seated quickly and service was good - simple, quick, and efficient! We ordered quite a lot between the three of us which rendered a "wow" from the server. Definitely try their Bo Luc Lac if you like rice and beef. I usually find this hard and chewy at other places but Pho Bang did well! I also highly suggest the Com Suon Bi if you like rice with pork and pork skin or the Bun Thit Nuong (vermicelli noodles with pork). And, always get a large portion of the spring rolls.
Can't go wrong with Pho Bang. Neighborhood staple since I was young. If you want a quick pho fix, come here.
3.25 Pho Bang--serving up Vietnamese staples for several decades now, they've been on the block for longer than some people have been around the block. I've been here more times than I can count so I'm surprised I never wrote a review! It's been several years since my last visit so decided to drop by when I was in the area. There's no recognizable attempt at decor so don't expect an instagrammable flower wall or customized neon light sign. The ambiance that greets you would be that of locals gathering with family and friends around a hearty meal. They've withstood the test of time without noticeable changes mostly because their concept of "decent food, fast and well-priced" works. Prices have increased with inflation though $12.00 for a large bowl of pho is still a price not found in most of Manhattan anymore. My latest visit my friend and I ordered: #25 TAIGAU 生牛肉網油河粉 Combination rice noodles, beef soup with fresh eye of round and brisket $12: Broth was ok, the meat was a sizeable amount though my friend commented that the quality tasted a little less than they were used to, having eaten here before. Still quite a hearty bowl of noodle soup and my friend ate the whole bowl. #44 BUN CHA GIO THIT NUONG 春卷燒豬肉檬 Spring Rolls and Marinated Grilled Pork on Rice Vermicelli $13. The marinated pork was thinner than I remembered though they still have several pieces. The fried spring rolls were decent. The veg mixed in with the bun (rice vermicelli) were fresh and I enjoyed my meal. As many have mentioned, cash only. I haven't been inside their bathrooms since pre-fire so can't comment on these. They're not winning any awards for having the cleanest floor though post-fire the ground is not quite the greasy slip-and-slide it was prior. Despite their questionable level of floor cleanliness, I will say that I've never gotten ill from eating food here (knock on wood), and generally tables look manageably clean. I will give them credit in that they really run like a well-oiled machine here, the staff are no frills but prompt, direct and generally courteous. The food comes out fast--for pho ours came out within 2 minutes of placing our order, and the bun flowed a few minutes after that. For a quick casual meal or takeout, I'd certainly recommend.
I love pho with a passion and this has always been my favorite go tos...it's a cash only restaurant so bring your cash!! The dishes are affordable and the service is always super quick! The workers speak mostly vietnamese and English and are very direct with their communication. I have went to this place since I was in middle school and I so desperately want to gatekeep but the food never misses. The broth of the pho is the most authentic it can be and the iced milk tastes like Chinese milk tea without any added sugars or preservatives. it's quite loud inside but that's honestly fine since this is the first restaurant out of many others where you just want to keep eating.
Came here one day for a quick bite. The set up of this place was very quick, they already have menus set up on all of the clean tables so you go in and seat yourself. Soon after, a waiter came and took our order. We ate and paid up front. The food was really good as well. Pho is always nice and comforting! The only thing that we wished was that our food came out a little hotter (but I think that was more of a preference thing than anything because the soup was still hot enough to cook the meat). Overall, I will be back again, I love how quick and easy everything was!
This is hands-down the best Vietnamese restaurant in Queens. It's been a staple in the area for years, and every time I come, it never disappoints. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and comes out unbelievably fast. The service is always great friendly, efficient, and attentive. Even when they're packed, you never wait long for your food. My only complaint? I wish they delivered or were on Uber Eats I'd honestly order from here every day. They're cash only!
The spring rolls were a highlight. So crispy, great sauce, and tons of lettuce. I got the chicken pho and I thought it was great! My bf got the beef pho and he didn't love the beef but still thought the place was good. I still think Thai Son has the best pho in NYC tho but this is a great local spot. Tried the pickle lemonade with soda/ sparkling, loved that it was savory but I did think it was a bit too sweet. I forgot if it said soda or sparkling but it kinda tasted like sprite. Liked it regardless. Everyone talking about the place being dirty is dragging it. Get the transplants out of NYC fr this ya standard Elmhurst Asian food spot with a lil grease on the table.
Favorite pho spot since childhood! The food is always delicious and the service is pretty decent! I love their pho noodles with brisket, spring rolls and their pork chops with white rice! Their prices are very fair and affordable!
Having pho during winter is always good idea. It's so goood. The broth is so refreshing and I really love their Vietnamese coffee!
In the mood for authentic Vietnamese food, this is it. Pho Bang does not mess around. Menu has a wide variety of choices. It contains large Vietnamese titles with tiny English subtitles (lol). So you might want to brush up on variety of dishes before a visit if new. It is Easter Sunday so very busy but was quick with table and service. Staff proficient in Cantonese, Vietnamese and English. The ambience to be expected. Straight up 1970-1980 Asian restaurant style. The place is basically 20 or so tables in a glass windowed surrounding (if you know you know). So don't forget you came for the food. I got they Goi Cuon- summer roll shrimp, pork and vegetable roll cold for $9 for two rolls with peanut sauce. And for the entree it was Tai Chin Nam Gan combination rice noodles beef soup with fresh eye of round, navel and tendon for $15 for a large bowl. Bowls come in regular for $13 large for $15 and extra large for $16. Just saying large was a very good portion. So the food was grade A, Service was an A and the ambience was a C. But I came for the food and so should you.
Went Saturday 4/24 with four people and ordered the following items: one Pho Tai regular ($13), one Pho Tai Gan regular ($13), and one large pho Tai Gan ($14), Bun thit nuong cha gio ($15) and 4 piece cha gio ($9), total is $64. They charged us $77 and since this was in cash, we did not realize until after we left. Thought the extra $13 was due to tax but after we left, images on menu said sales tax is included. Very dishonest restaurant. Not surprising how all the recent reviews are also bad ratings because this restaurant has a history of being scammers. And I know Vietnamese and overheard an employee saying "ma con quỷ dể đi" when we paid the bill and gathering our stuff to leave like lol?
When you sit down they are already ready to take your order. Once you place your order the food comes out within minutes. It's cash only but the prices are great compared to the city. This is my go to when I want pho and spring rolls. I also love there pork chops over rice. Add a runny egg to any rice dish if you like. read more
A group of 12 of us celebrated Valentines Day here. They don't take reservations, so we made sure to get there early since we were such a large group. Good thing, because the restaurant filled up pretty quickly! We were able to secure two round tables, which can seat 8 people in each table. Customer service was good, not great, but satisfactory. To be honest, we were quite disappointed in the food. Considering this restaurant is always packed, we thought the food would be much tastier than it was. This was our menu (shared by 6 ppl): ~ Cha Gio (spring rolls)-these were decent but could have used a better dipping sauce. It would have made a big difference. ~ Banh Mi Ca Ri Ga (curry chix stew)-although the curry sauce was ok, the chicken was horrible. Some pieces of chicken were frozen! ~ Banh Hoi Thit Bo Lui (sesame beef)-this was a good dish. (4/5) ~ Bun Thit Heo Nuong (grilled pork w.vermicelli noodles)-another decent dish. (4/5) ~ Bo Luc Lac (marinated cubed beef w.rice)-this was the best dish of the night. (5/5) ~ Canh Chua Ca (spicy & sour fish soup)-terrible terrible terrible. Tasted like nothing. They were actually out of fish, so we substituted it with mussels. The mussels were large and plump but there was no saving this soup. It was watered down soup; barely any flavor. On a semi-positive note, the prices are very reasonable. This entire meal came out to just $18pp (Including tip)...But...I guess you get what you paid for! Beware! read more
An oldie but goodie. Came here to get my pho on and it hit the spot. I got pho with beef and tendon. It came with all the optional fixings such as basil and bean sprouts. Place is affordable and quick. Not a place for date night but solid Vietnamese cuisine. The spring rolls were a little over fried for me. Next time, I'll get the summer roll. Decided to give it a try again after years since the last time we went. Got the pho with eye of round and tendon - soup got cool a bit quickly but was good. We got a large to share but could have ordered more noodles for additional cost. For next time. Grilled pork chops over rice is one of our go-tos but I would skip the crab meat patty. I didn't like the texture of it. Vietnamese iced coffee was a bit sweet. The place is very casual, improved since the last time we went. So many servers just standing, watching. Our server left the order ticket on our table and we paid at the cashier area. Prices are ok. Cash only. read more
This is THE BEST place in the city to get Pho. I've been coming here ever since I was a kid (except during a period where the restaurant had closed due to a fire). The food here is incredibly delicious, the waitstaff are friendly and attentive, and the food comes out promptly after ordering. I came in around 5pm on a Sunday and thankfully there was no wait and we were seated (party of two at a table for four) immediately. I ordered my go-to's which are Summer Rolls and a large bowl of Pho and, as per usual, they did not disappoint. The grilled pork chop on top of rice is also one of my favorites. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the area and/or if you're looking for some amazing authentic Vietnamese food at fair prices. FYI: This is as much of a no frills restaurant as it gets. You come in, you eat, and you go. Otherwise, visibly impatient employees will hover around you. Just don't make eye contact to avoid any awkwardness and you'll be fine until you're ready to leave lol. Cash only (pay up at the cashier) and don't forget to tip back at your table. read more

I was craving pho and decided to give this place a shot as the last time I went here was ages ago. There were two other pho places in the vicinity, and one had really low reviews and another mediocre, which I've already been to, so that was how it was decided. I ordered the large bowl of the most popular pho (which was recommended by the waitstaff) and decided to get that and the summer rolls. There were tons of people waiting on us, and the food came out really quickly. It was a bit confusing with paying the tip + the bill at the register. All in all, great service and food so I can't complain. read more
My goodness there's truly no words to describe how good this place is for "authentic " Pho Many Yelpers including myself will attest to the fact that this is one of best Vietnamese all of New York City. Mouth is watering again just writing this review. read more
What a find! This place doesn't look like much but it certainly was packed full. Service was moving hyper fast and we were seated after a two minute wait, got our water and drinks and went into the huge menu. For appetizer we're had the shrimp summer roll. Decent roll but nothing noteworthy. For the main course, I opted for the spicy broth pho and the lovely lady had steak with sautéed onions. We love to share each other's dishes so we set it up family style. One thing that really surprised me was the "broken rice". It was a very unique and short grain rice cooked perfectly and absorbed the delicious flavors of anything you eat it with. Onto the main courses, first, the pho was so packed full of flavor I couldn't believe it. The noodles, broth, meat, vegetables all came together so harmoniously I couldn't stop eating. It had just the right amount of heat and spice, we literally drank it all down to the bottom. Second, the steak was undeniably one of the most tender we've ever had. It was served over some broad lettuce leaves and with the most incredible glaze. Along with the rice we gobbled up everything with such gusto I barely had time to snap these photos. read more

This place should not get even 1 star, unprofessional service but asking for the service charge that they shouldn't deserved it! Food average not stand out, spring roll seems to chewy not crispy. Also cashier is not polite and not service mind at all so rude I don't know how they run business like this and also this restaurant looks quite dirty and messy Never go back again. Bye!! This place is one of the remaining legit Vietnamese places run by Vietnamese vendors. This place is efficient and no frills, and most items are decent. The pho soup is the best in the area, too bad they don't have other soup noodle options (e.g. bun rieu, bun bo hue). Some of the pork items are a bit dry, but pork chop is better. read more
I'm so happy this Pho Bang finally re-opened back in the Fall 2021. I'm also glad that there's some minor changes / fixes to the restaurant too. I have came back twice for lunch recently with my parents. The prices are slightly higher from before and I'm not surprised since we are experiencing inflation. The food is still pretty good. I enjoyed the pho and the rice vermicelli with spring rolls. BTW, this restaurant is still CASH only. read more
If you are craving Pho and around the neighborhood then come check them out. I like the fact this spot have Pho in small, medium and large size, whereas most spot only have small and large size. The medium is perfect for me. The broth is tasty and they don't skimp on the meat toppings as well. This spot is cash only though. Service is fast so that's always a plus. read more

The pho spot I grew up with in my neighborhood has FINALLY reopened and I am so grateful. Everything tastes just like it used to and will continue to be one of my favorite, authentic, no-frill pho spots. CASH ONLY! So come prepared PHO Gotta get the regular pho that comes with a mix of beef slices, tripe, etc. The soup is the winner here with a deep, mouthwatering umami flavor with fragrance from the lemon, mint, basil, and subtle smoky/char flavor typical of good pho. The tender vermicelli noodles soak up the soup and are perfectly glassy and bouncy, cutting easily to your teeth. Add a healthy dose of hot sauce and hoisin sauce to your liking and when you get it, push the raw pieces of beef to the bottom to cook them to your liking. SPRING ROLLS Love the spring rolls here- sometimes if I have a potluck and I'm lazy I'll just get a few orders of these and they're always a hit. Crispy, crunchy outside with dense filling inside full of minced pork with fragrance from the seasonings and veggies. High meat to veg ratio and dipped in fish sauce wrapped in lettuce - how can you go wrong? A good viet spring roll to me is thick, densely filled, and not skinny and the crispiness has a crumbly crunch rather than a thin crispy flaky shell you might expect from some chinese spring rolls at dim sum. Have been eating here my whole life and so glad they're back in business. I bring my friends here when I want them to have an authentic, no frills, affordable pho experience! read more

I have been curious about this place since they re-open few months ago but they should step up their game if they want to survive having others PHO places around. Cash only on this day is pretty much is a BIG no no and plus not having ATM inside make it difficult having a meal on this place. Pho is a Vietnamese soup dish consisting of broth, rice noodles, herbs, cilantro, bean sprouts, and meat, in this occasion my pho had beef and chicken. The broth had a good taste the noodle was fine, and the amount of noodle and the amount of meat was very generous but I did have the XL so I assume it was because of this. The staff is pretty fast and the PHO will be ready in a few minutes. Also the restaurant have a good parking lot for those that like to drive. read more
Hands down my #1 Pho place to go to and I cannot express or contain my happiness when this opened up again!!! It has been closed for WAY TOO LONG and I'm so happy it recently reopened in late 2021! My family and I have dined in here and ordered take out and it never disappoints. For appetizer, we usually order #2 Cha Gio (8 for $14.00), which is Vietnamese Crispy spring rolls. It is a deep fried roll wrapped in rice paper, with a mixture of pork, chicken, crabmeat, black mushrooms, and clear rice noodles. Holy moly guacamolieeeee, it is mouth watering DELISH! Wow, just wow. The taste is just ... I can't even. The crispness of the deep fried rice paper?!? Ugh chef's kiss :* For the entree, we usually go for a large #29 Tai Nam Gan Sach (Extra Large is $12.00, Large is $11.50, Regular is $11.00), which is a rice noodles beef soup with fresh eye of round, navel, tendon, and omosa. Large definitely fills me up and I usually have a good amount of broth and noodles left. I don't know what it is but the broth is just so flavorful and the meat is just perfect. Sometimes, if I really want, I would add in beef meat balls to my order, which is an extra $3.00 (for any beef too). We also order #32 Banh Hoi Thit Heo Nuong ($15.00: pork with angel hair noodles) or #33 Banh Hoi Thit Bo Lui ($16.75: beef with angel hair noodles), depending on which meat we're craving. They are both marinated grilled meats served with fine rice noodles, green leaves, cucumber, carrot, and pickle leeks. According to the menu, the main difference is the meat and #33 says it is marinated in sesame seasoning and also include mint leaves and cilantro. I never ordered these 2 together so I'm not sure if they just left out some of the stuff in the menu for #32. Both very very delicious when you wrap them in lettuce and dip/pour on the sauce that comes with it. I do find that the grilled pork can get a little hard so it's not as enjoyable to eat as the grilled beef. Sometimes instead of the Angel hair noodles, we'd get #38, the grilled pork on rice vermicelli which is very similar! Staff take precautions by making sure you enter with a mask and all the staffs also wear their masks. They are super friendly, quick, and efficient. It is not the most appealing but never judge a book by it's cover because the food is absolutely delicious. There is a parking lot in the plaza so it would be convenient to drive there. And they only accept CASH!! Will continue to come back to indulge in this deliciousness and pray that they never ever close ever again :') read more
Staff was rude upon picking up of an order, as the employee provided nary a verbal word of acknowledgement regarding our presence, as if he couldn't deign to deal with us. Food was acceptable, with summer rolls being best, while the pho broth was somewhat lacking. read more
Rejoice! The original Pho Bang in Elmhurst has reopened again, after years of being closed. Although I've dined here multiple times throughout my childhood with my family, it was Ben's first time at this iconic Vietnamese spot. Although there are a couple Vietnamese restaurants all within a few minutes walk from each other (Pho Bac & Pho Best), Pho Bang is definitely my favorite. It's a no-frills restaurant that's always packed. We ordered #3 Cha Gio (Vietnamese Crispy Spring Rolls) and two #29 Tai Nam Gan Sach (rice noodles beef broth pho bo). The spring rolls contain a mixture of pork, chicken, crabmeat, and black mushroom. The pho contains fresh eye of round, navel, tendon, and omosa. If you want the meats well done, go for #30 Chin Nam Gan Sach pho! Cha Gio (Vietnamese Crispy Spring Rolls): 4 pieces for $7.50 8 pieces for $14 Pho bowl sizes: Regular bowl $11 Large bowl $11.50 Extra large bowl $12 Ben ordered the extra large pho bowl and I got the large pho bowl. The patrons come in non-stop at Pho Bang (we were there at 2:30pm on a Sunday - no wait), so the workers have a very efficient system of getting the orders out to the customers as fast as possible. We even got our pho bowls before the appetizer came! The crispy spring rolls were just the right amount of crunch on the outside and chewiness on the inside. Love the sauce it comes with. Don't forget to wrap the spring rolls up in the large leafy greens! To no surprise, the bowls of pho left us feeling both super full and satisfied. Can't go wrong with a steaming bowl of pho on a cold winter day in NYC. You can park in the parking lot (although it's usually difficult to get a spot) and you pay at the front desk after your meal (cash only). Pho Bang is such an Elmhurst classic; we'll definitely be back again! read more

They're baccckkkkk !!!! I was so excited when I first saw the post from my local Facebook group in the area. And everything after were many other old customers, such as myself... overwhelmed with excitement, anticipation, and glee. My family and I have been dinning at this restaurant since the late 90s... We have seen the beginning and various accidents throughout the years that forced them to not operate. The fire aside, I still don't understand how people keep driving their stupid cars into a restaurant?!?! Wtf We've waited for years...for them to reopen and now, newly renovated, and as yummy as memories serves. We both had an extra large bowl of pho. (#29 for my well done loving dinner companion and #30 with extra tendons for me) We each had an order of summer rolls; All that food we had and only $50; (Still cash only and no delivery) They just reopened, so not everything is available apparently; we couldn't get the custard to top off our usual meal but we'll be back!! We came here on a Saturday night and ordered a few of their classic dishes: beef pho, grilled pork chop and rice as well as their dry noodle and beef combo. Although the food was delicious and on par with our expectations for vietnamese food... we saw roaches. A waiter did come over to address this but given this experience, we will not be returning. Be mindful to bring cash and you have to get an itemized receipt from the cashier if you want to split the bill. read more
Came here with a large group of 9 people for lunch on a Saturday. Honestly pretty good pho spot. Very very casual but authentic. Parking lot and the restaurant tend to get busy but people are in and out. The staff speak Viet so you know it's authentic. Service is quick. If anything we were taking a long time to order and they were getting inpatient with us. Pho soup is flavorful and not too salty. Side sauce enhanced the flavor. Noodle and beef meat portion is fairly equal. I got the large size. Giving it a 4 star because it's so casual and potentially not the cleanest. But I would definitely come back! read more

Great pho place to visit if you're looking for a quick meal. Will definitely say they are super efficient in taking orders and serving you, so while you might not have much attentive service, everything comes out super quick. Keep in mind it's cash only so be prepared for that. read more

This is the local beloved spot at Broadway, Elmhurst Ave. It's affordable and for the price, you get it back in the service. They may not be the nicest people but the food and price makes up for it. One of the best spots to get traditional pho and viet spring rolls. Always hit when you come here and hey if you go by yourself, be prepared to be treated like you're in Asia because they will sit you to random people. read more
There aren't many good Vietnamese restaurants in Elmhurst unfortunately. This place is pretty decent. I have to say the portion for broken rice is huge with 2 pieces of pork chops. For the egg roll, they don't use the typical Chinese egg roll wrapper, but this is not exactly the same as the one we would use in Vietnam either, but it is quite good. Cash only. read more

Absolutely horrible food! The pho (1/5) tasted just like water with beef bouillon, very salty and clearly made in a shortcut manner. The portion of beef on top was meager. The pork chop with rice (1/5) was grilled decently, it was tender and flavorful. The issue I have is the mushy rice that came with it, also, the cucumber and tomatoes were clearly dehydrated. The cha gio (fried spring rolls) (1/5) were the worst compared to what other Vietnamese restaurants serve in the area. The food here gave me stomach problems that lasted until the next day, so much for food safety standards. The atmosphere here was absolutely uncomfortable, you will have 3-6 waiters hawkishly staring at you the whole meal. Let us not forget about the service--I don't expect good service from such a place at all, but I was astonished on how bad it was. We barely sat down as we took off our coat, then a server came and tossed the menu on our table, while asking us if we're ready to order. Rude and impatient servers, everything seemed rushed. To add to that, they were louder than the patrons chatting in the dining area. There are more pho restaurants in the area with better hygiene, value for money, service, and most importantly the food. Restaurant is spacious with family style seating, service was good. I ordered a regular size, which was really small compared to the other sizes, although it's not much of a difference. The broth was between warm and hot, closer to warm so the meat took some time to cook. Ingredients were plentiful and taste was alright. IT LIVES! The Elmhurst location burned down years ago and I never thought it'd come back but lo and behold, like the proverbial phoenix blah blah blah. In all seriousness, it's a neighborhood staple and I'm sure locals are thrilled to have it back. Pho Bang is the place you came to for pho and other Viet fare when you were in the area and not much has changed. The pho comes out fast, fresh and tastes great. The seating and service is no frills, its still cash only and coming here is like taking a time machine back to my youth. My go to here is still the pork hash and it tastes just as good today as it did back then. Pho Bang hasn't changed a bit in the 20 plus years I've been coming here and I'd not have it any other way. read more
