I've been to Haywire twice now. Beautiful look and feel inside and the restaurant is huge, with two floors and an upstairs patio. Both times the restaurant was packed (Thursday and Saturday). Our server was great both times. The first time I had the appetizer sampler (5/5), chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes (5/5) and macaroni and cheese (1/5). The second time I went I had the Cowgirl dinner (2/5). Great idea and great price but I found the steak to be tough and the salad didn't have any flavor. I can't remember what drinks I had the first time but the second time I had lemon drops which were good and strong. I definitely recommend trying them out.

I had one of the worst service experiences. I had arrived around 5:30 pm and they were having two different events going on. Therefore it was packed and they couldn't see us. No problem about that, bar and outdoor patio seating were no reservation required. My party and I sat outside and we had tried to order at the bar, but we were told to wait for service. We did not receive any menu or water while being outside in 90° weather. When we went up to the bar, we were again told that we should go and wait outside for someone to serve us. We didn't get a drink until 6 PM and that wasn't because they came back out, we had to go back in and ask the bar. Thank goodness the waiter was kind we could still get happy hour deal that ended at 6 PM, but we wouldn't have had to cut it close if we actually got service. Otherwise, the drinks were a good price for happy hour, and they had a good amount of alcohol in them. The overall interior of the restaurant is very modern and classy. There was also a lot of seating outside of the event. They also have a parking deck next to the restaurant so parking is not an issue either, especially when it becomes packed.

Haywire is an absolutely beautiful restaurant, and I've been wanting to try them since they opened in Memorial City. We had queso and a charcuterie board to start, and you really can't go wrong with that. The $30 Cowgirl Dinner is such a great value, but I'm not sure if I'd recommend it. It looks like it was cooked correctly, but it still felt dry when eating. Perhaps they're not letting it rest long enough before cutting. The flavor was good, but I have a high expectations for Texas steak and am disappointed. Ugh I hate it when a steak is cooked to the correct internal temperature, but isn't rested properly for the juices to distribute. If you look at the pictures, you might be able to see what I mean. Unfortunately, it just didn't look like what the influencers were getting :((( Service is great though. Very attentive.

August special for Houston Restaurant Weeks

Had a great time here! The restaurant is modern but Texan with so much space and beautifully themed areas. The menu has a great selection of cocktails, sides, and main dishes that are all cooked in-house from scratch. Service was also great overall. We came for the August special, Cowgirl Dinner, which included steak, salad, fries, and a cocktail. I don't normally crave steak but it was cooked to perfection and so juicy! The apps and sides are also worth mentioning, particularly the pork belly and corn bread. The pork belly was crafted so well, with each piece paired with pepper and orange slices. The corn bread came as a muffin, so we ordered one per person as recommended by the waiter. It was delicious! The cocktails were strong but good, especially the margarita. This is in a great location right off the highway and would be fun to come with a group. I will definitely to get the pork belly and corn bread again, and to try some of the other dishes too!

I LOVE this place! The atmosphere is upscale cowboy-ish? Just trust me on that! The service has always been great, the food is 10/10, the ambiance and spacing is great, and the drinks are strong and delicious! I've had appetizers, drinks, entrees, and desserts and they always deliver. Even though they're always packed (highly recommend a reservation) the service is still on point and quick. They do allow free seating upstairs at the bar and patio with seating and fans outside for the hot HTX days. Go for your next date night, alone, or with friends! One of my absolute go-tos! My favorite is The cowgirl dinner: a margarita or lemon drop, steak, ceasar salad, and tallow fries all for $30! The steak is soooo good too! Highly recommend! *For a limited time*

Gosh my last visit meal was so amazing, I craved this creole fish dish again. In mid eating I had this hard plastic stuck in my teeth from my food, and once I removed it, it appeared like a plastic tag from a price tag or uncooked rice. It took a great while for my server to return, by the time she arrived I requested management, the manager lady spoke as if I planted it in my dish, that I sped over to purchase again from my first visit. She replied, " Nothing at all look like this in the place". Girlfriend are you serious? She didn't offer to replace my dish, to comp my meal. She was looking for reasons to charge me for my dish and the unwanted items it seems. Above all, No apology was offered neither. Her tone was very much accusing, was had me, the "victim feeling very suspect". You know "white only pies" vibes. I had to ask for a comp or redo and express how solutions are made during these type of events. Not sure if it was the female manager's lack of experience or incompetence, but her response was disturbing alone. The male manager spoke to me after dealing with the inexperienced female manager for a fair solution. The kitchen was closed so to remake the meal wasn't possible, instead he removed my dish from the bill, and provided a gift card (lesser value of the dish) but it was the gesture and expression of the current events that made it very necessary. However, I was informed it takes time for the amount to upload onto the gift card, (possibly2-5 days) it's been over a month now. I haven't confirm or visited back

I came here for the $30 cowgirl dinner, arriving around 11:00 AM right when they opened up. Unfortunately, the service was really not that great. When I walked in to sit at the bar on the lower level, the bartender was kind of unwelcoming and told me rather abruptly that the bar was closed and to go upstairs. So, I went upstairs and sat at the bar for an extra 10 minutes with no one coming over to help me. I finally had to track down a waitress, who was able to find someone to take my order, but it still took a while. To top it off, it was just me, and there weren't a lot of people in the restaurant at that time, so there's really no excuse for the delay. The staff seemed much more concerned with talking to one another versus paying attention to their customers and orders. They definitely need more attention to detail and to be a little bit more professional, not sure if it was just an off day or what. To make matters worse, they brought me the wrong dressing, and then tried to bring me the side of Caesar towards the end of my meal when I was already almost finished. No apology, nothing. On the bright side, the food was pretty good and well-seasoned, and the drink was extremely strong (which was great!). Overall though, I was really not impressed by the service.

The best way to describe this place is cowboy chic. Down home food with a little bit of elegance. There is valet parking available for $5 or you can self park in the lot or the garage. It is 2 stories with primary dining upstairs. There's a bar area and ample space for large groups. Service was very friendly and everything we had was good. I loved that they have fried green tomatoes, as you usually don't see them on restaurant menus. Western burger was tasty as well as my cocktail.

Very cool decor and ambiance with friendly service. This restaurant feels Texan and their open view into the kitchen from the dining room is perfect for their scratch made menu. Service is friendly and not intrusive. I wish I'd liked the food better. Fresh, though it may be, my shrimp Caesar was utterly forgettable. My drink was tart and pretty, but not one I see myself craving or ordering again. I'd be open to giving them another try and selecting something different based purely on their service and ambiance though.

I've come here a couple of times, and the service never disappoints. I always love trying different items here, and it just works every, single, time! We came in for a girls night, and to try the girl dinner that they had been promoting. It came with Steak, Fries and a Caesar Salad and cocktail, which I think is a perfect combo. It was just enough food. Before we started our meal, we ordered the Onion Rings appetizer, and they were so good. Came out super hot and crispy batter with a yummy aioli for dipping. The steak came out perfectly cooked to my liking, the fries, super yummy, wished I had more! And the salad was light and crisp. I opted for the espresso martini, which again, made to my liking! I also ordered another drink, a vodka martini, which was nice crisp and smooth. To round out our evening, we ordered the bread pudding for dessert. They ran out of ice cream, but it was not needed. This is one of the best bread pudding's I've ever had. It had a nice toasted bottom, and was warm and gooey throughout each bite. I was only going to take a bite, but that was hard to do, so we devoured it pretty quickly. Suffice to say, I'll order that as an appetizer on my next visit!

    Overcooked and too SALTY!!!

Expected better but my first experience here was a little Haywire! 3 out of 6 people that ordered filets had overcooked and salty steak. Hosts were not organized and table assignment was a nightmare. Party of 8 adults were given a tiny table that was best to seat 6. Our server was nice but seemed very busy. Service overall could've been much better. This was like a step up from Outback Steakhouse, not impressed but may try it one more time.

Came here for the first time a couple of weeks ago for lunch. I loved the ambiance. Kind of like a rustic chic. The service was very attentive. Food (pics attached) - we started with the Vaquero shrimp. It's fried, dipped in an ancho hot honey sauce and served with a side of BBQ lime aioli. Very tasty and highly recommend. - For my main, I selected the chicken club and substituted the aioli with bbq sauce on the side. Just okay. I'll try something else next time. However, the fries are fried in beef tallow and were excellent. - my friends got the chicken Cobb and the Western Burger. They both enjoyed their meal. Great hang. I'll be back.

AMAZING! Came for a Friday lunch with a friend and had an amazing time! Our server Kiara was spectacular so kind and efficient! Our food came out quickly and was so fresh, well seasoned and such large portions! My friend and I split everything but again sooo delicious! The ambiance is warm and feels like a nice somewhat classy Texas hug! Definitely recommend if ever in the area

    What is the dress code?

We saw a wide variety of dress. From cocktail attire to t-shirts. Personally, I think they should at least enforce "collared shirts" for men. If I'm going to drop $$$ on a nice meal, I don't want it to feel like Arby's.

The food is always great so no complaints there but my brave review is definitely the service. However, I will say that the new battle of the board is not Great like I remember. Credence -- Where Live Fire Becomes Language and Houston Becomes Art…read more Credence isn't just a restaurant; it's a declaration written in flame. The moment you step inside, the room opens like a long exhale -- wide, airy, and confident, anchored by an open kitchen that glows with the kind of live fire that doesn't simply cook food but tells stories. This is Houston hospitality raised to its highest register, the kind that once earned a Michelin Star for service and still moves with the quiet pride of a place that knows exactly what it's doing. Chef Levi Goode's first brick‑and‑mortar feels like a culmination -- a fifth‑generation Texan with classical training finally building a home where both halves of his identity can stretch their legs. You taste the lineage in the smoke, the discipline in the technique, and the ambition in the menu, which reads like a love letter to Gulf waters, ranch land, and the elemental power of fire. Start with the seafood tower if you want to understand Credence's worldview: fresh, cold, towering abundance arranged with the precision of someone who respects the ocean as much as the plate. The smoked tuna dip is a quiet masterpiece -- silky, savory, and carrying a whisper of smoke that feels like a signature. But the deviled crab? That's where the kitchen shows off. The crab arrives tossed in a smoky tomato butter that clings to every fold, every shred, every hidden corner. Then comes the monkey bread -- warm, soft, pull‑apart temptation -- the kind of bread that makes you forget your manners and commit fully to the moment. But the flame is the true narrator here. It guides the entrées, sets the rhythm, and crowns the showpieces. The whole duck is a spectacle, a celebration, a feast meant for people who appreciate craft and aren't afraid of abundance. It arrives whole (no head), lacquered and glistening, with two legs transformed into confit jewels -- tender, rich, and decadent enough to make you pause mid‑bite. This is not a solo mission; bring a friend or two unless you plan to make a memory out of leftovers. If beef is your compass, the prime dry‑aged New York strip is a study in restraint and precision. Charred edges, deep flavor, and that unmistakable live‑fire signature that makes you wonder why you ever settled for anything cooked on a quiet grill. Dessert at Credence is not an afterthought -- it's a finale. The brown butter Bundt cake arrives warm and fragrant, crowned with chantilly cream that melts into every ridge. It's sized for a crowd, but sharing becomes a philosophical dilemma. Credence is not cheap, but it is honest. Every dollar is accounted for in intention, detail, and execution. This is Houston -- bold, generous, and unafraid -- translated into food, flame, and service. A restaurant that honors the land, the lineage, and the craft, all at once.

Service was amazing-- we loved our waiter who was a combination of polite, funny, and knowledgeable, and everyone gave us a smile. All the dishes were beautifully presented and flavorful but definitely on the heavier side. - Beet salad (5/5)-- wow, never had a beet salad like this one before! So much flavor with a tanginess from vinegar sweetened by the blueberries and beets. The beets didn't taste very earthy (aka like dirt) compared to most beet salad. This was really well executed :) - Caesar salad (3.5/5)-- Credence's spin on Caesar, which according to my Caesar salad pro diner, didn't really taste like Caesar salad. Also very tangy and tart but the pro still enjoyed it as a salad dish. - Roasted cabbage (4/5)-- big fan of the way they roasted this, perfect tenderness without being cabbage mush! Definitely a heavy dish, especially for a vegetable option, as it was swimming in a butter cream sauce that started to congeal as it cooled off. Would choose this more as an indulgent appetizer rather than a healthy veggie option. I wonder if one could ask for the sauce on the side... - Tuna tostada (3.5/5)-- if you like strong flavors, this one packs a punch. The gochujang aioli beneath the tuna is really concentrated, making it difficult to taste the actual tuna. There's a bit of heat but thankfully I wouldn't say it was spicy. Fun to try. The tostada itself was very dense and almost a bit bread-y versus a crispy chip texture. - Crab fried rice (4/5)-- comes with lobster foam that is mixed table side and a generous amount of crabmeat lumps. The rice actually had a nice texture without being too... grainy / individualized, but it was too salty for me. - Akaushi Wagyu beef (4.5/5)-- loved the texture which was tender but with some chew (was expecting more of a melt-in-the-mouth texture though) and the veggies that it came with. It was heavily salted, too much so for me. Would've been perfect with less salt since there's already a chimichurri sauce with it. - Peanut butter tart (4.5/5)-- peanut butter lovers rejoice! The chocolate filling was rich, thick, and sweet which was complemented nicely with the whipped cream (not sweet at all). The peanut flavor really shined. The crust didn't have much of a taste by itself and was sandy in texture, not sure if on purpose or over-baked and dried out. Either way, the tart looked impressive when it arrived and was delectable-- my favorite bite of the night! Overall a nice experience! Although there was a mess up and the rest of our two salads and crab rice wasn't packed with our other food to take home; I was pretty sad about that since it was quite a bit of food (and $$). I might return for that peanut butter tart, but everything else was too heavy and too salty for me. I'm personally not a huge butter fan, but if you are, definitely make a reservation for a special occasion or date!
