Every dish was so unique and innovative! Favs were the crawfish toast, life is pici pasta. Everything was good tho. The pie was not my favorite- they didn't have other pies on the menu that night and this one was just basically Marshmallow fluff with a hard layer of chocolate on the bottom- was not a fan I felt like I was eating a hard hersheys bar.

My husband and I have enjoyed several meals here at this point, but our most recent visit was this past Friday. The food varies from good to perfection! We've gotten the dilly bread several times and this appetizer is always perfection! Tonight was no different! The problem is they sell out of this and so you have to make sure you get there early to make sure you don't miss out! lol. The olives are delish with their citrus marinade but tonight they were a bit soggy. Not sure if they sat in the marinade too long or what. They were still good but I like my calvestrano olives to be firm! Now the other dish that blew us away this evening was the vegetarian lasagne!!! WOW!!! It's Smokey with lots of goey cheesy goodness!!! Absolutely I would recommend this and order it again a 100 times over!!! The service here is typically on point! The bar guys are usually fun. I love the atmosphere. It's a little dark but the restaurant is a renovated old house. They play vinyls every night and pick a theme for the night. I've never been disappointed with the music. Such a vibe!!! Here are the downsides to Nobies. It's always busy and so you have to make reservations. And recently they started this thing where you have to put $25 down to make a reservation. I have a rule to not pay for reservations! It seems a bit extreme so my husband and I showed up at 5pm on Friday to secure a spot at the bar. We were the first ones at the bar but also I don't want to have to do this every time I want to go to Nobie's. The food and especially the drinks are PRICEY!!!! I find the pricing for the drinks to be ridiculous honestly but I really want a drink to enhance my food experience so we pay it but I really think they could give a little on that.

Amazing food and service! A great rotating seasonal menu and everything we ordered was top notch. Well worth the price. Highly recommend the beef tartare and the pull apart Dilly bread for apps, both were so fresh and addicting and I've never scarfed down apps as quickly as I did with these. Their olive oil cake was also chef's kiss, the handmade chantilly on top was so good - honestly worth making the stop even if you just had the desert here! Only tough spot is the limited street parking since it's situated right on the edge of a residential area, but well worth checking out!

Didn't expect the high level of service from this small and intimate restaurant but ---yes we did! Didn't make a reservation so thankful to all who accommodated our party of 10! Top tier staff; servers, food runners, buss staff and Chef were all amazing! My little brother's birthday dinner was a success thanks to their entire staff! The food was delicious but doesn't all come out at once so start with the appetizers which were all pretty great! The star of the show had to be the fish- can't recall what the Chef called it but it was the best thing the table ordered--no wait! The dilly bread was also a table favorite!Thank you for the wonderful experience and for the free dessert for my brother- very thankful for that!

This is a nice little neighborhood restaurant that's tucked in a residential area of Montrose. The food is decent - yet another restaurant with shareable small plates, which is the trend these days. Some highlights are the bolognese pasta and all of their pies, otherwise some hits and misses. With that said, I absolutely love the casual yet hip vibe, and the service has always been attentive and friendly. Reservations are preferred if you don't want to wait, but I walk in a lot as a party of two all the time. They have a bar/counter seating as well as outdoor seating. Wine list is excellent. When people come from out of town, it's not necessarily a place I have on my Houston hit list, but given it's walkable from my neighborhood I do find myself coming here from time to time.

A delicious dinner and all I got was a picture of the Keylime pie

I can't believe it's taken me this long to eat here but finally made it for Galentine's. Everything was phenomenal. Seriously. Food was delicious and on point. Staff was solid and with a super cool vibe-really enjoyed interacting with them. All the suggestions made were delicious from the carrots to the dilly bread (get two) along with the meatballs and the green lasagne. There were three of us so I wanted one more thing and got the brie and bread with the smoked grapes and I was not sorry. Topped the evening off with a key lime pie because if you've ever made a key lime pie, you know how tedious the work is squeezing all of those tiny little limes. I have respect for key lime pie and refuse to make it again so that's what we got. It was delicious and filling and a fantastic meal.

I think I saw this was now a Michelin recommended restaurant or something like that. So I thought what the heck. It was Friday. Halloween night. My kid was trick or treating in her old school area and I needed a place to chill. Her friend's mom worked here. So I called around 6:30 pm and they said no problem to do a walk-in. In fact for the whole hour I was there, it didn't seem crowded at all. I got the dilly bread to start with. It comes with an egg shaped butter which I remember having at another restaurant quite similar to this. Both were ok but nothing special imho. The waiter said they're know for their pastas and recommended the "what's quckalackin?" over the "nonno's pasta", as the latter is a regular item on the menu and can always be had. Well I went with the recommendation but wish I took the staple item. I actually eat duck quite often. But I didn't really care for the duck pieces in this dish, which I found to be quite tough. Pasta was ok. But no wow factor. For desert I chose the peanut butter pie. Again it was good but nothing I'd come running back for. I've actually had better desert elsewhere. And standing alone, I'm not convinced it was worth the $11 price tag. Tip - Check your bill. The line item prices on my bill didn't all match the prices listed on the menu. I do like the ambiance here. That part is quite charming as it's like an old house. But Michelin or not I wouldn't come back for anything in particular.

Impromptu date nights are my fav. Honey and I nearly passed Nobies with its unassuming self! We parked next door at the business that was closed (it was closed!) and sat outside bc the music was pretty loud inside. Service was good-great she offered recs and let us keep the mocktail that came out accidentally. We did have to wait a little longer than we would have liked for entrees even though she assured us if we ordered everything at once she'd course it out. Food was delish. Stand out was the olive oil cake. Friggin nommm. Took me awhile to get to nobies but worth the wait. Two word review: impressive mocktails.

Atmosphere: It's a casual, bohemian kinda vibe. I heard folks talking that it had be remodeled but it was my 1st visit. Service: Service was top notch! The server was very friendly & knowledgeable of the menu. Immediately approached us about any food allergies. She cleared & refreshed our plates & utensils after the 1st 2 tapas. Food: Cabbage - (8.5/10) was really good it's pan seared & served warm, with a hint of yellow curry flavor. It's complete dairy free but you would not think so. Flavors give Mediterranean vibes. Carroty Kid - (8/10) carrots in a red curry sauce with a spiciness that lingers in the back of your throat. Not overpowering but the spiciness is there. Dill bread- (10/10) it's milk infused milk bread which just means it's soft & yummy with hints of dill flavor. Regulars just sit down & immediately order the bread while looking at the menu. It's a MUST try! Jamon Pork - (6/10) this was my least favorite dish. Unfortunately it came to the table luke warm which wasn't a great start but the flavors were just "ehh". The thin pork slices had a crispy crust which was nice but the rest of the meat & cheese & aioloi sauce just didn't come together for my taste buds. I would not try it again. I feel like you need to have an open or "developed" palate for some of these dishes. The menu has limited entree offerings which is fine but for someone who likes simple flavors they may be challenged to find a dish or perhaps can stick to the pastas or steak options which I didn't try. Parking is basically on the street & extremely limited. So good luck there.

10/10! Had the wagyu beef cheeks, fingerling potatoes, oysters and key lime pie for dessert. Incredible meal. So flavorful and the right amount of spices on the potatoes and beef cheeks, balancing the richness with the right amount of acid, leaving me wanting more with every bite. The key lime pie was perfectly balanced and tart, and the crust was buttery and delicious, Bartender Rob was a blast and guided me on all these and made for a great evening!

    Devil wears paratha

Lovely experience at Nobie's! Not a huge space so reservations definitely recommended. Service is excellent- the wait staff is very kind and people who bring out food are energetic! Dilly bread is an absolutely must- the bread is so soft and fluffy, the dill flavor really comes through, then the butter just sends it over the top. Could eat a whole order by myself. The devil wears paratha was a flatbread filled with chorizo and cheese, crispy exterior and nicely seasoned. Loved the sauce that it came with and the little salad with shrimp. Wouldn't have put these flavors together myself but it works! Nonno's pasta is a classic. The pasta was firmly al dente and the meat sauce was so flavorful but not too salty. Brownie pie is a triumph. At first it looks like a giant dense brownie with its classic brownie top. But it's so fluffy and smooth, light and airy. The crust is like a graham cracker crust and the brownie flavor is perfect. The vanilla flavored cream topping is almost like a marshmallow fluff in texture and makes this pie incredibly memorable. Will absolutely be back!! There are very few spots in the lot so street parking is the best bet.

I've been wanting to try nobie's for a while and was very excited to celebrate a close friend's birthday here. Maybe it was my high hopes, but I left pretty underwhelmed by everything I tried. At this price point and bib gourmand recognition quality, I guess I was just expecting better food that I received. Below is a review of the items we ordered: # texas tartare 8/10- this was probably the best dish we had. the tenderloin was nice and chewy and seasoned very well. it was a nice dish paired with sourdough bread #nonno's pasta 7.5/10- i think this was good because I love bolognese, but honestly this dish was very standard and there was nothing special that made it stand out #Whats quackalackin? 6/10- Again, nothing that stood out. Duck and trofie pasta combo was mediocre. there were too many peas in the dish #winner winner chicken dinner 8/10- This massive platter is what I realized most people come to nobie's for. It is a dish that can feed 2-4 people easily and features a juicy fried chicken with an assortment of jams, pickles and pairings to go with the meat. The chicken was good, maybe not mindblowing, but it was juicy and enjoyable. Biggest downside is that it doesnt come with enough truffle sauce. #olive oil cake 8.5/10- i love olive oil cake, and this one was no exception. It was juicy, moist, and nicely crisped on the edges. I probably wouldn't come back to nobies, but it was a memorable dinner to celebrate a close friend's birthday. The interior was dark and moody.

I heard so much about Nobie's and I was so excited to finally try it! The ambiance is cozy and intimate, in a small re-imagined house with vinyls playing and a good amount of diner chatter. It's also fairly dark and crowded, so the space was both fun and formal. The food was incredible! Dilly bread - I heard this was a must try, but perhaps it was overhyped in my head because it was good but nothing mind blowing. I think if there were another element of crunch or something texturally different, it would help to break up the incredible softness of the bread (which is good for a few bites!). The dill butter is delicious though, especially with the smoked trout roe on top! Beer battered sweet tots - one of the best dishes of the night. The goat cheese with harissa really seals the deal! What's quackalakin - my personal favorite! Although I'd seen mixed reviews on this, I thought it was outstanding. The pasta was a perfect al dente, the duck was delicious, and the sauce brought every bite together. Flavorful, fun, and unique - a combo I think makes the best dishes! Steak Diana Ross - while our server described this dish as "exciting" and it was quite good, I don't think this was a super memorable steak. It was cooked well and the mushrooms were amazing, but overall nothing too special. Next time I think I'd try the jamon! Olive oil cake - insane. Probably the best cake I've had. Super moist, with an amazing meringue topping that's the perfect amount of sweet and rich. I'd come back just to eat this. Overall, we absolutely loved our meal and I can't wait to come back!
