    Fried Mozzarella
    Patrick Z.

Split a couple starters. Arancini and Fried Mozzarella bites were both crispy and good. The Burrata Tartufo though was very delicious, creamy, and truffle flavor was great. For my main I got the Spaghetti Carbonara which was pretty solid, sauced well and had a good amount of meat. We also split the Quattro Formaggi pizza which was fine. We balled the hell out on desserts. Tiramisu was okay and couldve been soaked more. The Tortino was so good with a bunch of different layers. But the Hazelnut Cake was out of this world. So rich I was like zayum.

Came with a group of colleagues after work, for the first time. Although I think I have been here many years ago, and just don't recall? Its certainly a popular spot. We arrived at 5p when it was fairly empty, but when we left it was packed. It's nicely decorated, large space, wine room, open style kitchen. Parking- street parking sucks, good luck. This is a busy area. Or you can valet for $10, which I did. Serive- we had a male server who we started out with this, cant recalll his name. He was somewhat rushing us to order maybe he was busy or just wrapping up his shift, he was a little curt. We were still looking at the menu. Lucky for us another server Haley ended up switching over, and she was a much better fit. She was smiley, checked on us often, answered our questions, responsive. 5 stars for her! Food- we did family style so we could try a bunch of dishes. -(traditional) Cesar salad with anchovies- good -Greek salad - spicy chickpeas - I liked that it's a healthy appe-teaser - the meatballs- I didn't care for, bit dry, but I think others in my party did. -Tre Burri- delicious bread that includes 3 kind of butter including truffle butter. Very fattening, but delicious. -Tuna tartar -was interesting. - Fritto Misto -was interesting, flash fried veggies, shrimp, lemon slices- this was ok, not really a substantive entree, but easily sharable. - Burata caprese -was a good choice for something simple and healthy, just don't eat the bread that comes with it. The food itself, had some fair dishes, but nothing I would have to come back for. If you are unafraid of carbs, definitely try the Tre Burri with the 3 kinds of butter!

It's frustrating, remembering how good the pizza was in their first year, to experience such a dense, tough pizza these years later. I'd avoid it. Proof that using bottled Italian spring water is irrelevant if the dough is not handled well. Just a bad pizza. A dead crust. Dough with no air bubbles. No gelatinization. Their hydration appears to be off. Not that anyone seems to notice. You see, with pizza dough, unlike in Mexico where the standard is to beat out every last bubble of air, pizza dough should be handled gently. Hands at ten and two. And you just push down and out. Don't over touch the pizza dough. It's about the amount of pressure. Like a pat on the back or a high five. Assertive but not assistive. Gravity works too. But that was the only mis-step. The crunchy fritto misto was damn good. And...Already dreaming of when I can have it again. The pasta options were spot on. Ambiance. When crowded, damn noisy.

Right in the heart of rice village! Ambiance was romantic and intimate. Food came fresh and quick! We ordered a margherita pizza, their special bread (which was delicious with each of the butters!), pastas and mozzarella cheese curds. Definitely filling and food was delicious. I'd recommend this place for smaller groups.

First time I ever had boquerones and bell peppers and it's my new favorite dish. We dined on a Friday night at the bar and had a great experience.

Excellent Italian option tucked away in rice village! Lively and fun atmosphere, service can be a little slow but has never been poor enough to taint my experience. Food is amazing

This place was at the top of my must-try list this month, and it did not disappoint. Trust me do make a reservation because it gets packed. Before heading in, I made a quick pit stop at a nearby shop for a few liquid appetizers (you know, just to build up the hunger). For starters, I went with the boquerones, and instantly, I was back in Madrid. A perfect balance of delicate sardines and roasted bell peppers - simple, vibrant, and exactly what you want. Then came the mains. The spaghetti carbonara a must-try. None of that pre-made, cream-laden nonsense just the real deal: egg yolk, black pepper, and Parmesan, exactly as it should be. And the tagliatelle nero di seppia. Let's just say it tasted like Neptune himself caught the lobster and shrimp that morning. Perfectly cooked, al dente pasta no sad, overcooked noodles here. For drinks, I stuck with a few Felipe Negronis (because why not?), while my wife sipped on their Flora Margaritas, which paired beautifully with the meal. And for dessert? Their tiramisu was different in a good way. You could actually taste the earthiness of the espresso, not just an overload of sugar like so many other places. A damn good meal from start to finish.

I had an amazing dining experience at Coppa Osteria! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the warm, inviting ambiance that set the perfect tone for the evening. The decor is beautiful, and the atmosphere is lively yet relaxing. Now, let's talk about the food! Every dish we tried was outstanding. I went for a dinner meeting so the food was selected except our majn course. I chose the fish of the day which was red snapper and veggies. Flaky, great flavor and temperature wish hot! The dessert was also amazing. Will be back

We're back. Monthly team lunch on a cold, overcast Friday. Reservation for 7 at 11 am. The service is always stellar. From the server to the expeditors to the helpers. Friendly, polite and prompt. I have tried a few of their pasta dishes - squid ink pasta with seafood, linguine with shrimp and a rigatoni dish. Today I opted for the carbonara. My boss has gotten it a few times when we came and always said it was good. Today it was super salty. I thought it was just me bc I'm not a salt person but towards the middle of us eating, I asked my boss how his was and he said it was overly salty. Neither one of us wanted to make a big deal since we were having a nice time but it was salty. Their tre burri is still a star. The butters are so heavenly. The focaccia loaf did look a little smaller than in the past but still delectable. Will def be back again but may stick with what I know - the linguine. My other boss ordered a pizza which actually looked pretty delicious. Def a nice place for lunch or dinner.

Best pizza on a patio in town! Crust so crunchy. Large patio and fun to people watch. Server today was great and knew the drinks, offered me Monkey 47 for my G & T so awesome! Fritto is so crunchy and good amount of pasta and I love the fennel. Creste pasta good. Prices are the higher side, but it's in an upscale area and we really enjoyed our date tonight. Highly recommended for their super crispy pizza!

We had a great experience at Coppa Osteria. The ambiance was romantic and the service was excellent. The Tre Burri appetizer was one of the best appetizers I've ever had. The pizza was a bit dry but still good. Would highly recommend this place.

I asked for something tropical and not too sweet. It was pretty good but not as complex as the catch 22. My husband liked the jaded merchant better than the dew drop. He also was sipping far too much of my mocktail which speaks volumes about how good it was. Love the moody vibes, drinks, and service. So we walked on over to this little speakeasy and were immediately greeted by the bouncer. On a Thursday night, it was quite crowded, but were able to find the last remaining seats at the bar. We were seated at the left end of the bar, which was nice because we had our own little "nook" away from the rest of the bar. Adjacent to us was the server station - the one server tending to the tables, Marilyn, frequently came by and we immediately befriended her. She gave us excellent recommendations and provided her opinion on several drinks. Robin was the bartender who took care of us throughout the night. She was super friendly from the moment we sat down and gave us stellar recommendations on food and drinks. She was happy to tweak a couple of their seasonal drinks to our liking, and even offered to mix other drinks that weren't on the menu. Fantastic service from Robin throughout the night. I started out with Tommy's Margarita - this was just their take on a classic margarita, nothing super special. I then ordered the Oaxacan Old Fashioned - think of an old fashioned made with tequila and mezcal in lieu of bourbon. I was a bit cautious about this one since I am not a fan of mezcal, however the smoky flavor was not very apparent in this one, which was a huge plus! I also got the Ardilla - very unique drink made with mexican corn whiskey, cocoa nibs, sherry, and a milk punch. I award this drink for most unique I've had in a while, definitely give it a try if you're up for something new. To finish, I had the Cariña - their take on an espresso martini made with reposado tequila. I really liked this espresso martini - it was a great way to finish out the night and I left feeling inspired to make my espresso martinis at home using tequila now! With the little room we had left in our stomachs, we tried the Pato Tinga Memela, which was duck leg (no bone) with beans and onions and cilantro atop a memela. I haven't had memela specifically per se, but consider me a fan. It is basically a mini "cake" of masa that is pan fried to a slight crispiness. An Oaxacan speciality, where else can I find these in Houston!? We also tried the Guacamole y Tostadas. The guacamole was unique in the sense that it was Oaxacan style, so contains pepitas, pickled onions, and queso fresco. The tostadas were super crispy and reminded me of how they serve guacamole in Mexico (rather than with chips/totopos). Fun fact is that this bar is owned by Goode Company. Next door to this is Goode Co. Cantina, so it's nice that they created an adjoining restaurant + speakeasy concept within the same strip. At one point in our visit, Levi Goode was standing next to us. We didn't know until after he left and Marilyn informed us, that that was THE man. Just doing a casual check-in of his bar. We really had a good experience at Bar Buena and look forward to returning. The food menu has quite a few offerings I wanted to try had I not come from a cooking class. We were also told that the seasonal drink menu was set to change shortly after our visit, so I look forward to trying these drinks!

We did hang out in their standing room area for a little bit but were able to order drinks and snag a table pretty quickly. When I tell you this is the friendliest service I've ever had at a bar or restaurant, I mean it! All different members of the staff were checking in with us to make sure we were having a good time and enjoying everything. We tried out three of their drinks: enamorada, uno amargo, and their classic frozen mezcal margarita. I say this as someone who is stupid about cocktails, but I think if you're a fan of old fashioneds you'll be a fan of the uno amargo - it'll put some hair on your chest! I loved the frothiness that the egg white brings to the enamorada but I think the frozen margarita was our winner. Imagine your favorite frozen marg but better - the mezcal brings an earthier flavor to a cocktail that us Texans all know and love. Finally for food we had the pato tinga memela, gulf crab tostadas, and carnitas flautas. I genuinely loved them all so much, every protein was so juicy bursting with flavor, which makes sense considering everything is made to order. If I had to pick a favorite I would struggle (I'm not kidding, it was all that good), but I think the crab tostadas won us over with their freshness. We had such a great first visit to bar buena and I can see this quickly becoming a cozy date or after dinner drink spot!

We ordered a spread: chicken wraps, fried chicken, a couple of Ketel One drinks, and finished things off with red velvet cake and bread pudding. On paper, it reads like a lineup that should hit. In reality, it landed somewhere in the middle. Nothing was bad but nothing really sang either. The fried chicken had the right idea but didn't quite deliver that crave-worthy punch. The wraps were fine, the desserts decent, and the drinks did their job. It all felt... acceptable. Like the kitchen understood the assignment but didn't fully commit to it. What stood out most was the contrast the menu is ambitious, the atmosphere pulls you in, but the food doesn't quite translate that same energy to the plate. It's the kind of place you want to love more than you actually do. That said, it's still a solid spot to check out, especially for the vibe and the experience. Just don't walk in expecting fireworks think more along the lines of a slow burn. Overall, I'd call it a decent restaurant that leans more on its aesthetic than its execution.

Definitely one of the more unique, fun spots of the Montrose/Upper Kirby area.

Super vibey spot with house music on the speakers, friendly staff, and tons of seating for dining…read moreon their delicious food or doing work. 93' Til has been on my bucket list for so long and I'm so glad I finally got to visit! The only unfortunate part of my experience was that the two of us at my table got the same dish - biscuits and gravy. The biscuit was dense but softened under the rich and savory gravy, and I got my eggs over easy to get the yolk mixed in. I also added some of their house-made habanero curry hot sauce, which is absolutely delicious. I'll definitely have to try a few other dishes next time! Their coffees are also great, with unique flavors for their lattes like spiced guava and molasses. Both of these were super tasty, hot and iced! Ultimately 93' Til is staying on my brunch list as a top tier choice, I can't wait to come back!
