This place is hidden away when a side street this was my first time visiting. I actually have never noticed that there were other restaurants back here. There is valet parking upfront for a fee, but I believe you can find street parking possibly or free parking nearby. I had an espresso martini for my drink because I read another review and she stated it was the best she had! I actually went on an Espresso Martini Tour earlier this year and I definitely would put this in the top 3 in Houston so far. For my entree, I had the chicken Parmesan I love that it automatically comes with fettuccine Alfredo pasta because I always substitute it when I go to other restaurants. I must say it was delicious and very filling I had to take half of it to go. We also opted for a side of brussels sprouts since the reviews raved about those as well and I love a good brussels sprout, and this one did not disappoint. I will say the service was slow even though the other servers jumped in to help us out at times overall it felt like we were waiting longer than we should have been for our waitresses return. The ambience of the restaurant reminds me of any Italian restaurant with a fine dining setting with a very clean, elegant look. Overall, I would come back!
Went to Coppa again this weekend. I am not joking when I say my family is frequent fliers. We eat here once a week. I tried out the special ravioli and I had to write a review. This ravioli was delicious. Beet and goat cheese. Super decadent, rich, and filling. Service is amazing as per usual! Very pleased with dinner!!
Had a wonderful dining experience here with a friend and daughter. Great server, ambience and good food. Only downside was sitting outdoor and flies going around your food constantly which was annoying but overall still enjoyable. The highlight was the humongous candy floss to celebrate whatever event you wanted!
We loved Coppa Osteria! It's in a nice location... a couple blocks from Jeni's Ice Cream for dessert The service is great. We had an awesome waitress who was so friendly and attentive. We had the Tre Burri app (rosemary focaccia with a few house made butters) and it was phenomenal, our meal highlight. The drinks are great, including the mocktails!! The pasta carbonara is tasty and prepared at your table. We couldn't decide on our protein and the waitress recommended the chicken saltimbocca which did not disappoint. We had the side of brussels and that was the only thing we weren't too keen on - we love brussels sprouts apps but theirs aren't crispy and lack flavor; I'd try the cauliflower instead next time! Overall LOVE this place and would love to come back next time in Houston.
Lynette may have been my favorite bartender ever! The restaurant was beautiful and clean. Lynette's drinks were amazing and the service was top notch! I was looking for lighter dishes. She recommend several things from the menu that were amazing and let me try several wines until I found one that was pleasing to my palette. The red snapper special and appetizer special was just what I was craving. I went back for a second night just for dessert and got the tiramisu and chocolate martini. It was the perfect end to my trip.
Split a couple starters. Arancini and Fried Mozzarella bites were both crispy and good. The Burrata Tartufo though was very delicious, creamy, and truffle flavor was great. For my main I got the Spaghetti Carbonara which was pretty solid, sauced well and had a good amount of meat. We also split the Quattro Formaggi pizza which was fine. We balled the hell out on desserts. Tiramisu was okay and couldve been soaked more. The Tortino was so good with a bunch of different layers. But the Hazelnut Cake was out of this world. So rich I was like zayum.
The service was phenomenal; our waiter was excellent, but we were also the first people in the restaurant. Once the room filled up, the service was spotty. I wish I had got our waiter's name; he went above and beyond to recommend a bottle of wine for us. He poured 3 different reds for us to choose from, and was very informative during the impromptu wine tasting we received. We were thrilled to have his knowledge and guidance in making our selection, as my husband is new to wine. The food was nothing special, which was a let down for us. Everything seemed rather dull and lackluster. The most tasty dish was the Pasta Carbonara, which I forgot to take a photo of. The fried mozzarella and Broken Arancini dishes were very underwhelming. I did enjoy the avocado mousse that was served beneath the Arancini. My Chicken Parmigiana was very mid, although it was tender and fairly moist. My favorite item was probably the dessert. The Tortino. The mousse and cake were so delicately flavorful and moist. And the crunch of the peanuts added a nice texture.

We arrived at 5p when it was fairly empty, but when we left it was packed. It's nicely decorated, large space, wine room, open style kitchen. Parking- street parking sucks, good luck. This is a busy area. Or you can valet for $10, which I did. Serive- we had a male server who we started out with this, cant recalll his name. He was somewhat rushing us to order maybe he was busy or just wrapping up his shift, he was a little curt. We were still looking at the menu. Lucky for us another server Haley ended up switching over, and she was a much better fit. She was smiley, checked on us often, answered our questions, responsive. 5 stars for her! Food- we did family style so we could try a bunch of dishes. -(traditional) Cesar salad with anchovies- good -Greek salad - spicy chickpeas - I liked that it's a healthy appe-teaser - the meatballs- I didn't care for, bit dry, but I think others in my party did. -Tre Burri- delicious bread that includes 3 kind of butter including truffle butter. Very fattening, but delicious. -Tuna tartar -was interesting. - Fritto Misto -was interesting, flash fried veggies, shrimp, lemon slices- this was ok, not really a substantive entree, but easily sharable. - Burata caprese -was a good choice for something simple and healthy, just don't eat the bread that comes with it. The food itself, had some fair dishes, but nothing I would have to come back for. If you are unafraid of carbs, definitely try the Tre Burri with the 3 kinds of butter!

Proof that using bottled Italian spring water is irrelevant if the dough is not handled well. Just a bad pizza. A dead crust. Dough with no air bubbles. No gelatinization. Their hydration appears to be off. Not that anyone seems to notice. You see, with pizza dough, unlike in Mexico where the standard is to beat out every last bubble of air, pizza dough should be handled gently. Hands at ten and two. And you just push down and out. Don't over touch the pizza dough. It's about the amount of pressure. Like a pat on the back or a high five. Assertive but not assistive. Gravity works too. But that was the only mis-step. The crunchy fritto misto was damn good. And...Already dreaming of when I can have it again. The pasta options were spot on. Ambiance. When crowded, damn noisy.
Right in the heart of rice village! Ambiance was romantic and intimate. Food came fresh and quick! We ordered a margherita pizza, their special bread (which was delicious with each of the butters!), pastas and mozzarella cheese curds. Definitely filling and food was delicious. I'd recommend this place for smaller groups.
The good: carbonara was AMAZING, chocolate cake was divine, and the tuna tartar was unbelievable! We sat outside for our dinner and it was a raining a bit but otherwise gorgeous patio. The bad: service was slow. It took a long time to finally get greeted and even when we were ready to box our food we couldn't locate our server. Also, the Caesar salad lacked flavor. Just lettuce and tasteless dressing. Would definitely not get again. I'll definitely go back for the carbonara though!
Excellent Italian option tucked away in rice village! Lively and fun atmosphere, service can be a little slow but has never been poor enough to taint my experience. Food is amazing

parking: 3/5. there is valet but i'm not sure how much it costs. you may have to walk a bit if you don't valet. ambiance: 4/5. the space is beautiful and not small, but you can tell they fit WAY too many tables in here. there were many times where we had to squeeze between people's seats to get back to our table, which was uncomfortable. service: 5/5! our server was super sweet and had knowledgeable recommendations :) tuna tartare arancini: 5/5! i've never had arancini with this flavor profile before and it was really yummy. $29 tagliatelle: 3/5. the pasta was fresh but the taste was very average. $35 i'm docking a point overall because some of the prices were outrageous. the caesar salad (no protein, just lettuce) costs $18, and if you want bread and butter that's fancier than the one they already give you for free, it's $25. are we serious? $25 for bread? i was looking at some old reviews and it looks like it cost $18 three years ago (which is still crazy). if you account for inflation, it should be $21 now, but i guess the extra $4 was just for funsies. for reference, some of the pizzas and pastas here are $25. overall: 3.8/5 read more
Coppa Osteria is a nice Italian restaurant with romantic vibes. I came here with two friends on a weekday evening without a reservation. They only had one table available inside that was close to the door, so we opted to sit outside. It was right next to parked cars. For appetizers, we got the crispy spiced chickpeas and caramelized Brussels sprouts. The chickpeas were not that great, and we did not finish them. They were very dry with spice. The Brussels sprouts were fine. Very normal tasting. My friend got the Fashion Week mocktail, and it was yummy. Very sweet with a strong raspberry flavour. For my entree, I had the carbonara. It was fantastic, and it was cool seeing the server mix it in front of me with the egg yolk. My vegetarian friend got the funghi pizza, and she thought it was mid. It was too strong of a mushroom taste for me, and it was very dry. We ended with the hazelnut chocolate cake for dessert. It's my friend's favourite, and it was delectable. The gelato and cake were insanely rich and delicious. This was a pricey dining experience, with each of us paying about $50 per person. read more

Went for Houston restaurant weeks! The pasta was absolutely delicious considering the fact I'm not the biggest seafood fan. It was a bit busy when we went, our server forgot about us sometimes but overall she was nice. The nice mood lighting made the dinner feel intimate and cute. read more

This place was at the top of my must-try list this month, and it did not disappoint. Trust me do make a reservation because it gets packed. Before heading in, I made a quick pit stop at a nearby shop for a few liquid appetizers (you know, just to build up the hunger). For starters, I went with the boquerones, and instantly, I was back in Madrid. A perfect balance of delicate sardines and roasted bell peppers - simple, vibrant, and exactly what you want. Then came the mains. The spaghetti carbonara a must-try. None of that pre-made, cream-laden nonsense just the real deal: egg yolk, black pepper, and Parmesan, exactly as it should be. And the tagliatelle nero di seppia. Let's just say it tasted like Neptune himself caught the lobster and shrimp that morning. Perfectly cooked, al dente pasta no sad, overcooked noodles here. For drinks, I stuck with a few Felipe Negronis (because why not?), while my wife sipped on their Flora Margaritas, which paired beautifully with the meal. And for dessert? Their tiramisu was different in a good way. You could actually taste the earthiness of the espresso, not just an overload of sugar like so many other places. We're back. Monthly team lunch on a cold, overcast Friday. Reservation for 7 at 11 am. The service is always stellar. From the server to the expeditors to the helpers. Friendly, polite and prompt. I have tried a few of their pasta dishes - squid ink pasta with seafood, linguine with shrimp and a rigatoni dish. Today I opted for the carbonara. My boss has gotten it a few times when we came and always said it was good. Today it was super salty. I thought it was just me bc I'm not a salt person but towards the middle of us eating, I asked my boss how his was and he said it was overly salty. Neither one of us wanted to make a big deal since we were having a nice time but it was salty. Their tre burri is still a star. The butters are so heavenly. The focaccia loaf did look a little smaller than in the past but still delectable. Will def be back again but may stick with what I know - the linguine. My other boss ordered a pizza which actually looked pretty delicious. Def a nice place for lunch or dinner. read more

Best pizza on a patio in town! Crust so crunchy. Large patio and fun to people watch. Server today was great and knew the drinks, offered me Monkey 47 for my G & T so awesome! Fritto is so crunchy and good amount of pasta and I love the fennel. Creste pasta good. Prices are the higher side, but it's in an upscale area and we really enjoyed our date tonight. Highly recommended for their super crispy pizza! read more

I had an amazing dining experience at Coppa Osteria! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the warm, inviting ambiance that set the perfect tone for the evening. The decor is beautiful, and the atmosphere is lively yet relaxing. Now, let's talk about the food! Every dish we tried was outstanding. I went for a dinner meeting so the food was selected except our majn course. I chose the fish of the day which was red snapper and veggies. Flaky, great flavor and temperature wish hot! We came here for a friend's birthday on a Saturday evening. The place was packed! We were glad that we had a reservation and got seated right away. Ambience is buzzing and happening. There were also tables outside with some space heaters. Parking was $10 for valet, and there's also some metered street parking around rice village. But be careful parking on the residential streets - one of our friends got towed! Service itself was a bit slow and not particularly friendly. We couldn't quite understand our waiter and it took awhile to bring out courses. The food and drinks were great, however! We started out with the bread board, shishito peppers, and fried mozzarella for appetizers. All were great! The bread board has different types of fancy butter - definitely a good choice for something a bit different. For main courses, we got the mushroom ravioli, margherita and Moroccan pizzas, spaghetti carbonara, and pappardelle pasta. Also got the beet carpaccio and brussel sprouts. We were most impressed by the pastas - all incredible! Pizzas were good as well. I will say the beet carpaccio was just sliced beets on a plate, and was a bit underwhelming. And Brussels were pretty standard. Several people on our group were vegetarian, and it was a perfect place given the number of choices available. They also do a fun cotton candy birthday treat topped with a sparkler for birthdays, which is very unique and fun! Though it did take quite awhile to bring out. This may be our go-to pasta spot in Houston now! We'll definitely be back. read more

I was in the area and wanted to eat some Italian food. After a quick search, I ended up here and was seated promptly on the well decorated patio. I enjoyed one of the gin based cocktails followed by the charred okra as a starter which was really good. The main pasta dish (tagliatelle Nero) was also prepared very well although it could have used a little more spice and salt. I got a special dessert of croissant bread pudding which was very rich but still enjoyable. Overall, I think this is a place worth checking out. read more
