First, we got there pretty early for our reservation. We sat almost immediately upon check in. Our waiter was in training but did a really good job. Ordered a whiskey sour. Was seated at the bar so I got to watch it be made. The bartender- man that guy never stopped. He was organized and just did his thing. So many pretty drinks were made while I was there watching. The pink one, whatever it was, was really pretty! On to the food. We got two apps, two meals, and two desserts. Husband ordered the Brussels, Steak Frites, and the Devil's Affogato. I got the Bacon covered Dates, the Pizza, and the Sticky Toffee Cake. The Brussels were good - husband liked them more than me. They were good. Had cashews in them. Little spicy. The bacon covered dates. Think this was my favorite bite. Sweet, salty, creamy. Came we three & I had two. The pizza was sweet and salty as well. The crust was so good and fresh. The arugula set it off so well. Def a buy again! The Steak Frites was so good. The chimichurri sauce was perfect. Just the right mount of citrus. Steak was tender and the fries seasoned well. The desserts - don't skip them! The Devils Affogato we had the first time we ate at Sixty Vines. Had to have it again. If you like coffee, chocolate and vanilla ice cream just get it. This was my second time dining here, and given the overwhelmingly positive reviews, my expectations were higher than usual. Unfortunately, just like my first visit, they were not fully met. We had reservations for brunch, and our party of six was seated immediately on the beautiful second floor. Service was efficient throughout the meal, with our waiter taking our orders promptly and the food arriving quickly. To start, we ordered the Brussels and the hummus. The Brussels were cooked very well and had an excellent crispy texture, but I felt the kung pao vinaigrette lacked the bold flavor I was expecting. A little more sweetness and acidity would have helped brighten the dish and make it more memorable. The hummus, on the other hand, pleasantly surprised me. Both the red beet hummus and edamame hummus were flavorful and enjoyable. They paired well with the crisp flatbread and even served as a nice accompaniment to some of our less exciting entrées. For my meal, I ordered the marinated artichoke pizza, which unfortunately did not stand out. I had the same issue that I experienced during my previous visit: the crust was simply too thick and chewy. After a few slices, my jaw was genuinely getting tired from all the chewing. The pizza also could have benefited from more bacon and a more generous amount of sauce, as it came across a bit dry overall. The campanelle suffered from a similar problem. While I understand that simplicity was likely the goal, the dish was so understated that it ended up feeling bland. It tasted like a slightly elevated version of buttered pasta with just a hint of white wine. There was nothing particularly wrong with it, but it lacked the depth of flavor needed to make it memorable. On a much more positive note, the carrot cake pancakes were easily the star of the meal. I tend to gravitate toward savory breakfasts, but my sister was eager to try them, and I am so glad she did. These were not your typical pancakes. They were thick, fluffy, and incredibly soft in the center. With toppings like maple butter, maple cream, mascarpone whip, candied walnuts, and cardamom sugar, I expected the dish to be overwhelmingly sweet. Surprisingly, everything was balanced quite well. While I cannot imagine finishing an entire plate by myself, anyone with a sweet tooth would absolutely love them. Overall, this restaurant continues to impress me with its atmosphere, service, and a few standout dishes, but the entrées I have tried have not lived up to the hype. If I were to return, I would happily order the hummus and carrot cake pancakes again, but I would probably skip the pizza and pasta in favor of trying something new. read more

Our server greeted us quickly, provided amazing service, and gave us plenty of time to decide what we wanted without feeling rushed. I ordered the braised pork pasta, and it was pretty good overall. The portion size was nice, but I do wish it had a bit more seasoning to bring out the flavors. My sister ordered the steak frites, but unfortunately her steak was cooked well done instead of the medium well she requested, which made it difficult for her to eat. A solid brunch experience today. Misty was our server and she was timely in checking on us and was friendly. My meal was fresh, delicious, and filling. Although I had a reservation for 11am, it was hardly needed as the joint was pretty quiet (at least downstairs where we were seated). The food was so good. The carrot cake pancakes were delicious. The French fries were perfect and the dipping sauces were not your typical but I loved them. The restaurant itself is beautiful, especially during brunch with all the natural lighting coming through the indoor space. Such a lovely atmosphere with plants surrounding us. This cute casual but chic wine bar/restaurant is nestled in the shops around rice village (there may be a name for this area) and worked perfectly for a stop in lunch. They have a massive wine list, options to make a wine flight, but also wine-based cocktails. I enjoyed their froze, made with jam jar red wine. It was delicious and served with fruit topping. For lunch, they have an excellent deal called the "Duo" - a house or Caesar salad with a half pizza of your choice. Incredible deal -- the pizza was quite large and I ended up taking half home. Didn't know of this place until we went here for a group dinner. We ordered a bunch of appetizers to start, and each ordered some wine. Wine pricing is fair, with a good selection, and price points (on the lower end). Half-pours available! Personally, I wish there was more than just one Riesling. The burger was a little disappointing in comparison. For my drink I ordered an Aperol spritz which was made perfectly ~ refreshing and crisp. For my meal I ordered the beet and herbed goat cheese salad with shrimp which was delicious. I was craving the earthy, semi sweet beet flavor and this definitely did the trick. The goat cheese was soft and tart which was a great pairing. 60 vines is a really nice place to visit solo or with your date. The ambience itself is really warm cozy a tad bit cold, but still give relaxation vibes. The service is really good as far as engagement however we had a few hiccups with my food, but I won't name them since the manager rectified everything. I had their pasta their brussels sprouts and I believe it was like a bruschetta toast. I may be way off but scroll through my pictures and you'll see everything that I ate. I'm actually sad to leave this review because I've come here many times and always had a positive experience. I have always loved the ambiance and their pizzas! Unfortunately when I came here a few weeks ago for my birthday celebration (on a Wednesday for lunch) and I got food poisoning from undercooked chicken. I knew I should have just spit it out but I was hoping I was wrong about it being undercooked. We got the grilled chicken sandwich and a Margherita pizza. We added mushrooms and grilled chicken to the pizza as well. I think the chicken in the sandwich was undercooked. The chicken on the pizza may have been okay, but I'm not sure. I mentioned earlier that we came on a weekday during lunch time when there were barely any other people there and it wasn't busy at all. I'm not sure what could have caused them to not cook the chicken properly. Within 1-2 hours of eating here, I had horrible stomach pain and had to go to the restroom constantly. Definitely a horrible way to celebrate my birthday. However, I did want to mention that our server was fantastic and even got me a birthday dessert to celebrate my birthday. She was super helpful and even explained their upcoming events. After getting food poisoning from the chicken, I'm too traumatized to go back. We also got the hummus, which was yummy. Came here for brunch on a Saturday after the Boot Walk. It was surprisingly pretty empty, except for a few other boot walk participants. We decided to dine upstairs since we were told there would be a DJ later. Upstairs is definitely more lively than downstairs and it filled up before long. I had their tortilla de patatas which was cooked well, but I personally prefer a regular omelette over a Spanish style one. I also had their French toast which was more like a custard than toast. I wasn't really feeling my brunch that much, however, I did sample their orange morning bread and that was really good! I think this place is ok, I think I just didn't choose the right options. I've been to their Dallas location before, and at one point it was my favorite brunch spot (until they changed their menu). I had a question about the chicken in the dish because it looked half smashed, and I like rustic dishes but I just wanted to make sure since the pieces were either really big half smashed and shredded or just shredded. And I could not get her attention the entire time to ask. It wasn't busy and I saw her walk back and forth between the bar and kitchen through out our meal, talk to other staff members but never looked in our direction. After we finished eating still trying to get our server, a young woman with a broom and duster took pity on us and waved down our waitress so we could pay. It took longer to try to get our server than it did for us to complete our meal. Mind you she was polite but lunch to take that long and being more or less ignored is not my idea of an enjoyable lunch date with my daughter. The food was good the ambiance was nice but I think our over all experience made it less enjoyable than it would have been otherwise. We enjoyed hummus for the appetizer which was fresh, and they brought out veggies in addition to pita. You could imagine my surprise on how excited i was to find a location in Houston. I immediately order the Brussels as I have been getting disappointed with them at other locations. These brussels sprouts were crispy flavorful and spicy. Just how I remembered them being sixty vines first opened. I love how they have a dinner seated area downstairs and a second level much like an atrium that is super spacious and has floor ceiling windows. It brings so much light to the room. This location is really great for being able to host events or large parties and still have a functional dining room for the business. The bartenders were OK. Came for Tappy Hour and left pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was. I'm glad the $3 off espresso martinis and $2 off share plates convinced me to stop in for Tappy Hour. For food, I got crispy zucchini, Santa Maria tri tip, caesar salad, and the double cabernet burger. I really enjoyed the sweet chili vinaigrette on the crispy zucchini. However, the zucchini got soggy pretty quickly. The caesar salad was good, not dressed super heavily, and provided some necessary ruffage for this meal. I'm a sucker for any burger with carmelized onions so I really enjoyed the double cabernet burger. But the star of the show, the highlight of my meal, and the dish I'd go exclusively to Sixty Vines for was the Santa Maria tri tip. My goodness. I fear I've found a new favorite local happy hour spot. Sixty Vines is conveniently nestled into the heart of rice village. If you park upstairs I believe there's free validated parking for 2 hours. I was greeted by the most welcoming, helpful host. She got us seated in a nice scenic spot. On the top floor there was a modern, contemporary look on the inside with plenty of lighting peeking in. Perfect for a nice quick scenic happy hour. Food was sooooo freaking good. The pasta was flavorful, broccolini had a nice smoky, charred quality to it that just worked. They DO NOT offer bottomless mimosas (what a shame, please re-consider), so we got a bottle of their house sparkling wine. They do offer a station with various fruit juices and fruits for people to mix their own wines, which I thought was a pretty cool concept. I split a few apps with a friend and left super stuffed. The fried zucchini was tempura fried and absolutely scrumptious. You can never go wrong with some meatballs and these just perfectly hit the spot. The food was good - I just wish there was more sauce for me to dip the potatoes in or else they were a little dry.
