First, we got there pretty early for our reservation. We sat almost immediately upon check in. Our waiter was in training but did a really good job. Ordered a whiskey sour. Was seated at the bar so I got to watch it be made. The bartender- man that guy never stopped. He was organized and just did his thing. So many pretty drinks were made while I was there watching. The pink one, whatever it was, was really pretty! On to the food. We got two apps, two meals, and two desserts. Husband ordered the Brussels, Steak Frites, and the Devil's Affogato. I got the Bacon covered Dates, the Pizza, and the Sticky Toffee Cake. The Brussels were good - husband liked them more than me. They were good. Had cashews in them. Little spicy. The bacon covered dates. Think this was my favorite bite. Sweet, salty, creamy. Came we three & I had two. The pizza was sweet and salty as well. The crust was so good and fresh. The arugula set it off so well. Def a buy again! The Steak Frites was so good. The chimichurri sauce was perfect. Just the right mount of citrus. Steak was tender and the fries seasoned well. The desserts - don't skip them! The Devils Affogato we had the first time we ate at Sixty Vines. Had to have it again. If you like coffee, chocolate and vanilla ice cream just get it. This was my second time dining here, and given the overwhelmingly positive reviews, my expectations were higher than usual. Unfortunately, just like my first visit, they were not fully met. We had reservations for brunch, and our party of six was seated immediately on the beautiful second floor. Service was efficient throughout the meal, with our waiter taking our orders promptly and the food arriving quickly. To start, we ordered the Brussels and the hummus. The Brussels were cooked very well and had an excellent crispy texture, but I felt the kung pao vinaigrette lacked the bold flavor I was expecting. A little more sweetness and acidity would have helped brighten the dish and make it more memorable. The hummus, on the other hand, pleasantly surprised me. Both the red beet hummus and edamame hummus were flavorful and enjoyable. They paired well with the crisp flatbread and even served as a nice accompaniment to some of our less exciting entrées. For my meal, I ordered the marinated artichoke pizza, which unfortunately did not stand out. I had the same issue that I experienced during my previous visit: the crust was simply too thick and chewy. After a few slices, my jaw was genuinely getting tired from all the chewing. The pizza also could have benefited from more bacon and a more generous amount of sauce, as it came across a bit dry overall. The campanelle suffered from a similar problem. While I understand that simplicity was likely the goal, the dish was so understated that it ended up feeling bland. It tasted like a slightly elevated version of buttered pasta with just a hint of white wine. There was nothing particularly wrong with it, but it lacked the depth of flavor needed to make it memorable. On a much more positive note, the carrot cake pancakes were easily the star of the meal. I tend to gravitate toward savory breakfasts, but my sister was eager to try them, and I am so glad she did. These were not your typical pancakes. They were thick, fluffy, and incredibly soft in the center. With toppings like maple butter, maple cream, mascarpone whip, candied walnuts, and cardamom sugar, I expected the dish to be overwhelmingly sweet. Surprisingly, everything was balanced quite well. While I cannot imagine finishing an entire plate by myself, anyone with a sweet tooth would absolutely love them. Overall, this restaurant continues to impress me with its atmosphere, service, and a few standout dishes, but the entrées I have tried have not lived up to the hype. If I were to return, I would happily order the hummus and carrot cake pancakes again, but I would probably skip the pizza and pasta in favor of trying something new. read more

Came here for an early dinner, and the atmosphere was really nice! We sat in the upstairs area, which was cozy and had a great ambiance. Our server greeted us quickly, provided amazing service, and gave us plenty of time to decide what we wanted without feeling rushed. I ordered the braised pork pasta, and it was pretty good overall. The portion size was nice, but I do wish it had a bit more seasoning to bring out the flavors. My sister ordered the steak frites, but unfortunately her steak was cooked well done instead of the medium well she requested, which made it difficult for her to eat. Absolutely loved this place! A friend recommended it to me, and I went in with no expectations but it completely exceeded them. The restaurant itself is beautiful, especially during brunch with all the natural lighting coming through the indoor space. Such a lovely atmosphere with plants surrounding us. Wine pricing is fair, with a good selection, and price points (on the lower end). Half-pours available! Personally, I wish there was more than just one Riesling. For my main, I ordered a house salad to start and a Double Cabernet Burger. The house salad was amazingly good, one of the best I've had in recent memory. Although a chain restaurant, sixty vines has such a personalized feel and very warming atmosphere, high quality service. We were seated outside under the covered patio which was perfect to beat the Houston heat but still enjoy the busy Rice Village scenery. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and courteous. For my drink I ordered an Aperol spritz which was made perfectly ~ refreshing and crisp. For my meal I ordered the beet and herbed goat cheese salad with shrimp which was delicious. I was craving the earthy, semi sweet beet flavor and this definitely did the trick. The goat cheese was soft and tart which was a great pairing. The HH menu is limited, so this may not be the best spot if you're wanting to have a variety to choose from. 60 vines is a really nice place to visit solo or with your date. The ambience itself is really warm cozy a tad bit cold, but still give relaxation vibes. The service is really good as far as engagement however we had a few hiccups with my food, but I won't name them since the manager rectified everything. I had their pasta their brussels sprouts and I believe it was like a bruschetta toast. I may be way off but scroll through my pictures and you'll see everything that I ate. The wine itself was a nine out of 10 at least the ones that I chose. I will definitely be coming back here for more wine tasting, and I hope to try even more items. I'm actually sad to leave this review because I've come here many times and always had a positive experience. I have always loved the ambiance and their pizzas! Unfortunately when I came here a few weeks ago for my birthday celebration (on a Wednesday for lunch) and I got food poisoning from undercooked chicken. I knew I should have just spit it out but I was hoping I was wrong about it being undercooked. We got the grilled chicken sandwich and a Margherita pizza. We added mushrooms and grilled chicken to the pizza as well. I think the chicken in the sandwich was undercooked. The chicken on the pizza may have been okay, but I'm not sure. I mentioned earlier that we came on a weekday during lunch time when there were barely any other people there and it wasn't busy at all. I'm not sure what could have caused them to not cook the chicken properly. Within 1-2 hours of eating here, I had horrible stomach pain and had to go to the restroom constantly. Definitely a horrible way to celebrate my birthday. However, I did want to mention that our server was fantastic and even got me a birthday dessert to celebrate my birthday. She was super helpful and even explained their upcoming events. After getting food poisoning from the chicken, I'm too traumatized to go back. We also got the hummus, which was yummy. I arrived about an hour before closing, expecting it to be quiet, but at 9:00 p.m. it was still bustling with energy, laughter, and that soft glow that makes everything feel a little more special. It wasn't busy and I saw her walk back and forth between the bar and kitchen through out our meal, talk to other staff members but never looked in our direction. After we finished eating still trying to get our server, a young woman with a broom and duster took pity on us and waved down our waitress so we could pay. It took longer to try to get our server than it did for us to complete our meal. Mind you she was polite but lunch to take that long and being more or less ignored is not my idea of an enjoyable lunch date with my daughter. I've been going to sixty vines for years and it #never disappoints The vibe is Southern California, earthy, Tuscan and chic. You can dress up or go semi casual and still feel fine. For food, I got crispy zucchini, Santa Maria tri tip, caesar salad, and the double cabernet burger. I really enjoyed the sweet chili vinaigrette on the crispy zucchini. However, the zucchini got soggy pretty quickly. The caesar salad was good, not dressed super heavily, and provided some necessary ruffage for this meal. I'm a sucker for any burger with carmelized onions so I really enjoyed the double cabernet burger. But the star of the show, the highlight of my meal, and the dish I'd go exclusively to Sixty Vines for was the Santa Maria tri tip. My goodness. I fear I've found a new favorite local happy hour spot. Sixty Vines is conveniently nestled into the heart of rice village. If you park upstairs I believe there's free validated parking for 2 hours. I was greeted by the most welcoming, helpful host. She got us seated in a nice scenic spot. On the top floor there was a modern, contemporary look on the inside with plenty of lighting peeking in. Perfect for a nice quick scenic happy hour. Food was sooooo freaking good. The pasta was flavorful, broccolini had a nice smoky, charred quality to it that just worked. My friends and I have been here several times before and absolutely love this place. The food, ambiance, and overall experience have always been amazing, which is why I was so excited to finally bring my fiancée for his first visit this past weekend along with my sister. We didn't have reservations since we happened to be in the area and decided to stop by for lunch. Unfortunately, our first interaction downstairs with the host was very disappointing. When I asked for a table for 3, she immediately seemed dismissive and rude. I completely understand prioritizing guests with reservations, but the tone and attitude were unnecessary. I even politely asked if it would be possible to request a table upstairs, and the response felt very cold and rude. The interaction made all three of us uncomfortable enough that we actually decided to leave. As we walked around looking for somewhere else to eat, we noticed an elevator leading upstairs and realized it was another entrance to the same restaurant with a different host. We decided to give it one more try, and I'm so glad we did. The upstairs host was incredibly kind, welcoming, and accommodating from the moment we walked in. I briefly explained what had happened downstairs, and she continued checking on us to make sure everything was okay. Her kindness completely turned the experience around for us, along with our waiter who was also wonderful. The food was amazing as always and truly never disappoints. My fiancée loved it, and I was relieved that the upstairs staff made the experience better because after the first interaction, I was already texting friends I probably wouldn't come back. It especially disappointed me because I'm currently planning a wedding and this restaurant was genuinely one of my top choices for a reception since we love the private rooms they offer. They DO NOT offer bottomless mimosas (what a shame, please re-consider), so we got a bottle of their house sparkling wine. They do offer a station with various fruit juices and fruits for people to mix their own wines, which I thought was a pretty cool concept. I split a few apps with a friend and left super stuffed. The fried zucchini was tempura fried and absolutely scrumptious. You can never go wrong with some meatballs and these just perfectly hit the spot. Vibes here were immaculate. I loved everything about the place. The food was good. It was a welcoming space and my friends and I enjoyed the drinks. I highly recommend that you make reservations! Depending on when you go, you can park on the street or the garage right next to it. We decided to come here for my cousin's birthday as she raved about this place, and I can see why she hyped it up. Coming in, the dining room was beautifully decorated with nice ambient lighting. Being a weekend night, we anticipated a crowd and had booked a reservation. We did though had to wait 15-20 min for our table to be ready but it was no big deal as the area outside is covered. Also, parking on rooftop free for 2 hours! We ordered the mussels appetizer, which came with bread to dip in the sauce. HIGHLY recommend. The mussels needed a bit more salt but that SAUCE was so addicting wow. Had to stop myself from eating because I was already feeling full after the bread and mussels. We also ordered some wine/cocktails and loved each drink I tasted! Their mocktails were yummy as well - will definitely come back to try them all. For our mains, our table was pretty diverse with pizza, burgers, porkchop, and steak. I ordered the rigatoni which had a ton of cheese (not that I'm complaining) and a large portion (had to take some to-go). The steak was cooked perfectly on the inside but it was a little too charred for my husband's liking. The pork chop was amazing (and the sauce on the side was stellar). I had heard so many good things about Sixty Vines, so I was genuinely looking forward to trying it out. Thankfully, they offer free parking on the second floor of the restaurant (first two hours are free), which definitely made navigating Rice Village less of a headache. The menu had plenty of options, but honestly... nothing really stood out taste-wise. We were seated downstairs, which felt tucked away from the energy and music coming from upstairs, so it was a bit quieter, but also less lively. When we arrived, they told us we needed reservations, which was odd because... we had them. Not a big deal, but just confusing. The brunch burger came out lukewarm at best, and the potatoes didn't help. They were also pretty cold and forgettable. My food overall just wasn't hot. I got the Scarlet Letter Sangrita (tequila + rose + pomegranate) which was decent but tasted more like juice than anything with alcohol. My friends felt the same--everything was okay, not terrible, but not memorable enough to return for the food. I didn't try any of the wine this time (despite the 60 in the name), so maybe I'll come back just to explore that side of the experience. But even then, the downstairs space felt cramped. The foot traffic behind our table was constant and kind of uncomfortable. It's a well-designed space visually, but not the most practical for a busy brunch crowd. Overall it filled the void after church, but that's about it. Not bad, just not somewhere I'd go out of my way to recommend. Such a cute restaurant in Rice Village! This place is great for a girls outing, date night, or for a group meal with friends/family. Reservations: Easy to make on open table. Parking: Free street parking, 2 hour complimentary parking in the attached garage, or paid parking in the lot out front. I've been here numerous times now and everything is good! Sixty Vines is one of my go-to spots for dinner or brunch with friends! The wine selection is great; you can sample multiple wines in a flight or stick with a larger portion of your favorite. The food is always fresh and filling, and the menu has a diverse selection that accommodates many dietary restrictions. The service is always thoughtful and personal; the servers have great recommendations for wine pairings. Also, the dining areas are spacious and cozy which provides a great atmosphere for conversation. Most recently, I visited for a ladies' brunch where we shared several pizzas and appetizers after making mimosas at a DIY mimosa bar. read more
