parking is very hard to find, wish they had an alternative parking lot for people because the space is tiny. the outdoors had a very nice ambiance during the cooler parts of houston. the wine tasted great and so did the dessert. the sandwich was okay but i was happy that they were able to make it dairy free. the service was attentive. overall a great experience.

Alexandre Burgaud Brouilly Rouge red wine with charcuterie board

I can't believe it has taken me this long to finally discover 13 Celsius! Where has this been all my life!? Am I just experiencing retroactive FOMO??? We came in as an impromptu visit after an earlier event and figured we'd just stop in for a glass of wine or so. Upon walking in, the place is super cute with dim lighting and was quite crowded on a Thursday night. We didn't immediately find available seating, but after a couple minutes, a table opened up and we sat there. Our primary server was Grayson, who was super knowledgeable about the wine list. Other servers tended to us throughout the night, and all were equally as knowledgeable about the menu offerings. At the time we went, they were featuring various wines from Beaujolais. We ended up trying one of these, the Alexandre Burgaud Brouilly Rouge, which was a full-bodied red. This was a great recommendation, and I will say that we didn't conclude the visit on only one of these bottles... Based on Grayson's food recommendations, we ended up ordering the Mortadella panini and a combination charcuterie board. The Mortadella panini was unique but good - tomato, mortadella, provolone, and mustard all served on a pretzel bun. Probably not my dish of choice alongside wine, however I did really like the charcuterie board. We asked them to surprise us on the cheese and meat, and they really came through. The prosciutto was tasty and the cheese (can't remember which one) had a peppery flavor to it, which paired well with our red wine. The overall clientele vibe seemed like a range of date nights, girls nights, first dates, and solo drinkers. I love the diversity! We ended up making friends with the table next to us and eventually merged tables to make this a fun group date night. Definitely a highlight of the visit. We will definitely be back sooner than later. This is a cute neighborhood bar that I look forward to returning myself and brining out-of-town guests to come experience. They also have a dog-friendly patio - something to keep in mind whenever the day calls for drinking some wine in nice outdoor weather!

If you're looking for a solid date night spot, and you're a fan of wine you should definitely consider swinging by 13 Celsius. Tucked away just outside of the heart of Midtown, in what feels more like a townhouse residential area, sits one of the best wine bars you'll find in Houston From the outside the bar looks relatively small, but as you walk in the bar is deceptively spacious. There is one of the smallest parking lots in the back, but I wouldn't hold your breath on snagging a spot there. As mentioned, this is more or less a residential area, and you will mostly likely have to find trees parking. Make sure you double check for "no parking" signs. Midtown is notorious for towing cars The interior is nicely decorated and intimately lit. You can find seating both inside and out, and there is a long bar you can sit at The menu offers wines from all over the world, and you can order by the bottle, glass, half glass, and you can also taste. There are a variety of delicious small plates and other snacks to order The staff was exceptional. A couple individuals took our typical wine preferences and was able to find similar wines that we would enjoy. They could explain why we would enjoy, and they allowed us to taste prior to ordering a full glass. Another served us our small plates and explained the dish and even the history of sourcing some of the dish components and why It is incredibly easy to get lost in conversation and unwind at this bar. For what it is, I also found the bar relatively affordable. And for anyone wondering about the name, 13 Celsius refers to the optimal temperature for storing and maturing wines Some tips: Again, ask the staff what they would recommend and let them take you on a journey of exploration. And please, check the "parking signs" Cheers!

STUNNING wine and small bites bar in Midtown. I'm visiting from the Bay Area on a work trip and the vibe and selection of wines blew me away! I got a glass of the orange and the pretzel and both were fantastic. Service was quick and friendly. Would totally recommend if you're in the area!

really sweet server made sure to check on us at just the right time. Had wonderful wine suggestions. Ambience was very calm and I got to sit on the couch with the table, which is hard to get a seat in the evening but luckily I was there around three or 4 PM. very clean. parking is pretty simple. I forgot I used to come here all the time.

A friend came into town during the Super Bowl and as neither of us are big sports fans, we decided to try out this wine bar instead of facing the sports madness. When we arrived, I quickly noticed they have a small but cute little area to sit out front for when the weather is nice and then a nice bar area with lounge seating inside. There is also another indoor/ outdoor patio area towards the back but I didn't notice that until making my way to the restroom. Outside of the actual bar area, the place is a bit dated and could use some updates (especially the ceiling which just looks like it's falling apart). The wine list was extensive and they had a number of varietals that I'd never tried before which was a plus The gentleman working was happy to answer all of my questions and allowed me to try the wines before making my decision which was appreciated. I settled on a red from Greece and it was fantastic. The food we ordered was also delicious and I'd absolutely order it again ... and try more items. All in all, this was a cute spot that I'd visit again BUT because of the ceiling and rustic vibe, I have noted I have to be aware of which guests is bring with.

I came here on a solo date and had a time! Was literally looking for something that was worthy of the look I had on and I came across this wine bar. On a Saturday night they were packed! I was solo, so I went straight to the bar to get a seat, but it didn't seem like there was much of a wait either. Immediately I loved the vibe. All the servers were so cool and I loved how close they seemed with each other too! Even the other customers were super friendly - I ended up in a lot of cool conversations! Into the plot, the food (or wine in this case)! I told my server I was trying to graduate from Stella Rosa and moscato and he was able to create a lovely mini wine tasting for me. They were so delicious and he was so knowledgeable about literally everything so that was super helpful. I also ordered a mini charcuterie board and I love how you can customize either the size or the flavors to fit your taste! Moral of the story, I'll definitely be back!

Always love going here. Great wine selection and the servers are good at giving recommendations if you have a specific vibe in mind. The small combination plate of two cheeses and two salamis is really good - their almonds, jam, and baguette a nice compliment to the wine. We didn't get the s'mores this time but I have in the past and it's a unique and delicious experiences. Overall ambience makes for a cozy date night, or a good time drinking wine with friends!

Nice wine bar. Hidden gem. I won't lie and tell you I remember what red wine we ordered that night but was a great red wine recommendation by our server. He was well versed and was able to answer questions we had. The highlight of the night was the smores board. It was so cute being yo make our own smores. Very nostalgic (was worried I was gonna catch something on fire but thank God I didn't !) Stop by if you're ever in the area.

My wife and I came by while we were waiting for an afternoon event in the Museum District. They have a great selection of wines to try by the glass. The Sommelierwas very knowledgeable and was able to find us several wines we enjoyed after telling him what we liked. We will definitely keep this place in mind next time we are in the area.

S'mores & Cabernet

I love 13 Celsius. The wine is pretty pricey but sometimes ambiance is just worth it. Here you can see the real reason I come here... the s'mores! Haha. Their s'mores are EXCELLENT. The highest quality of s'mores you can find, no joke. And you can make them at your table! You really can't beat that. Back to wine. The wine is really good! I had a Cabernet that I let the server surprise me with based on description and he hit it right on the nail. Love this place. Highly recommend for a date!

I always want to come here when it gets chilly out because of their amazing S'mores Board! I love coming here, getting a bottle of wine and talking with friends. Very cozy vibes inside and at the outside little courtyard. Staff is very knowledgeable on wine selections and they are extremely attentive. 10/10 always.

Our friend booked a reservation and was able to add a fourth person without any issues. It's on Westheimer where all the restaurants and shops are, so it's pretty busy. You can either park on the street or in the neighborhood behind. There's bar, small table and booth seating available. One of our friends who arrived early got to switch us to a booth since we'd have a few plates to share for the four of us. My friend and I shared the NA red sangria. I liked that there was a NA option for that, and you can choose either red or white. We ordered a pitcher since we were sharing. It was delicious and refreshing. I think I had about 3 wine glasses of it. Our group shared the red fish à la plancha, patatas bravas, spinach frittata, olive oil pancakes and bacon-wrapped dates. Some of the dishes were bigger than others. Tapas is meant to be small plates, and they were, but it's a little overpriced. For example, the red fish was $15.50 for maybe 2 oz of fish. The stack of olive oil pancakes were small and thin for $8.50. If you're sharing, it's not that much food. I was going to order another personal stack of olive oil pancakes because that cinnamon butter was so good! I decided not to after I let all of what we ordered and drank settle for a bit after. The valdeon whipped blue cheese under the bacon-wrapped dates didn't taste very good and seemed grainy to me. It was my least favorite. The standouts for me were the olive oil pancakes, spinach frittata that was actually loaded with more veggies and bell peppers and the patatas bravas which was piled with potatoes topped with mayo that melted down and looked almost like melted cheese on top. It's a fun place for friends to gather or a cute date spot. You may or may not be hungry after depending what you order. There are larger plates/entrees like paella and branzino to share.

The pork chop had a beautiful char and was full of flavor--slightly undercooked, yes, but still delicious enough to carry the whole meal. I do wish they had mashed potatoes on the menu, though... it would have made it perfect. We also shared the Brussels sprouts, and sadly, they missed the mark this time. Dry and bitter, nothing like the saucy, flavorful version I've had before--maybe just the late hour catching up with the kitchen. But even so, that pork chop... it lingered in the best way. I experienced this side of the business during the early phase of the Covid pandemic back in 2020. At the time, during lockdown, going to a wine bar or wine shop just wasn't top of mind. However, I had researched a Cabernet Franc (red wine) called Nicolas Reau Enlèvement Demandé Anjou [Vintage year: 2017]. Reau is kind of a rebel working in the Loire Valley of France who is interested in producing organic, biodynamic wines that are essentially closer to nature and processed differently--more artisanal, so to speak. I read about this wine and wanted to find a bottle locally, which wasn't an easy task as I recall. This is where Vinology comes in. I'm not much of a wine drinker, but had to have a bottle of this excellent wine. Like many people, I preferred to stay indoors during the early part of the pandemic and was kind of nervous about going out. When I called Vinology, I expressed my dilemma, and the guy on the other end of the phone came up with a great solution. He offered to deliver the bottle of wine I purchased to my address. I actually met him at the edge of the garage entrance to where I live. This was great, exceptional above and beyond service. I will always treasure and remember Vinology and plan to support the business more in the future. Hats off to the folks who own and run this wine establishment.
