Wine Wednesday? Yes please! Cute little wine bar in Montrose. Parking is... let's just say selective. Tiny lot in front, valet next door, and if you hit street parking, consider it divine intervention. I went on a Wednesday aka free wine tasting day (yes, you read that right). Jake walked us through 4 Italian wines, all available for purchase. The standout for me was The Mandirola 1913 'Derthona' Colli Tortonesi Timorasso DOC 2022 from Piedmont, Italy. Fancy name, fabulous taste. Seating is cozy inside, with a patio for those who like fresh air and people watching. Luckily, we had perfect weather with a breezy assist. The menu? A playground of wines, cheeses, and snacks. Our server, (Don)Cornelius , was attentive, and full of good recommendations. Unfortunately on Wednesdays they skip the usual wine flight ($25 for 4 pours) because of the tasting. We grabbed a few glasses anyway and ordered Burrata, Cheese & Charcuterie Board; 3 cheeses, 3 cured meats, grapes, honey, mustard, cornichons, baguette slices and a warm brie with blueberries that honestly deserves its own standing ovation. Service was A+. Drinks and boards, Chef's kiss and Vibe were Perfect for catching up with friends, rolling solo, or a date night.

Montrose Cheese & Wine is one of the most chill wine bars to visit in the city. The staff is very knowledgeable and when the weather is nice, it has a beautiful and relaxing patio to sit and enjoy a glass or two. This visit, I wanted to check out their Happy Hour, where you get 50% off the entire menu, can't be that! I chose the wine flight which costs $12.50 on HH and consists of 4 glasses, 2 oz pours. I went with 1 Brut, 1 Brut Rosé, 1 White and 1 Flat Rosé. Also got the Cheese & Charcuterie Board for $16 on HH, which was divine! Instead of grapes, it came with green apples. Also tried the Tarta de Queso or Basque Cheesecake for $6 on HH, which was just ok. The bitter orange Marmalade was not for me. I prefer the Oatmeal Cream pies and will stick to that one next time (they were sold out when I went). All in all, I've definitely return but go during Happy Hour for a great value and great service!

I love charcuterie and this place did not disappoint. The service staff was great, they were on point with the charcuterie and wine pairings. They have such a quaint indoor setting but the patio is definitely a nice spot to enjoy the outdoors. It's a calm spot to enjoy a nice low key date or friend catch up session. Only thing I would say is the jasmine roll in the dessert menu is not that great but O M G the mixed berry tart is fabulous. If I didnt share I would have eaten it all myself! Hopefully this will be in my rotation!

Located in montrose. Has valet and street parking. There is a parking lot but limit space. This might be one of my new go to spots on Wednesday. Every Wednesday they have free wine tasting from 5-7pm. It's a cute and quaint place. Love the ambiance and atmosphere. The waiters are amazing and knowledgeable. I will definitely be coming back

My favorite wine bar! Staff is always very friendly and helpful. I love the music they play in the shop and it's always such a fun place to stop by to clear my head, get a coffee, pastry, glass of wine, and the sandwich of the day. Must try!

They have a small but very appealing menu of wines by the glass and different snacky things such as charcuterie, cheeses, pastries, and a rotating sandwich of the day. They also have an extensive supply of retail wines in their shop, and best of all there is no corkage fee so you're welcome to enjoy the bottle right there and take home whatever you don't finish. The outside patio is also a great place to sit and enjoy your sips The service was friendly, when I walked in they were happy to explain everything to me. Feel free to just sit and everything is full service.

Quaint and friendly, Montrose Cheese and wine greeted us with open arms. For a Saturday afternoon, it was empty. Look now...I mean, it was okay. The premier wine flight offers zero flexibility for preference. Each glass was peppered with cork and none stood out as something memorable. They brought us more bread, which was appreciated. There's bar seating inside, but it's limited and the outdoor seating offers chairs with backs. Not a lot of options. Could be better, but it's not.

I'm fairly new to the wine and cheese tasting game, but me and my friend had such a great experience here! Let me start off with saying that the staff here was so friendly. My friend and I were a little bit indecisive when it came to our wine flight and actually asked if they could just pick some of their top sellers for us. Not only did they pick them out, but they also explained to us what was what and gave us a little backstory on our cheese board! I can't remember the name but the cheese in the small round bowl was supposedly a top seller and ohhh my gosh I see why. Perfectly creamy! If they ship I will be ordering it directly to my house. They had indoor as well as outdoor seating, and the inside is so picturesque with all the wine bottles on the wall. This was a great place for our girls night and the setting would honestly be great for a date night too. Go check them out!

I attended a free tasting here and ended up staying for a while and buying a bottle. The service was great. I really enjoyed a rose that was part of the tasting but it was a bit too costly. Cornelius was super helpful and gave a more affordable recommendation. The place is a bit small inside but the patio is nice. Also, the chips that they sell are AMAZING. The black truffle and ham are the best.

I was too late for the raclette so I had to pivot. Sat at the bar and enjoyed the white wine flight, radishes and butter, olives, and burrata. Great presentation and sides of sea salt and olive oil. Glorious!

Came on a Wednesday for a Free wine tasting. 1st thing the parking here is free street parking or complimentary valet parking. 2nd thing the place has indoors and outdoor seating. They have a large selection of wine that can only be found here, and they have a great selection of cheese. They also have a nice selection of delicious desserts. The wine tasting was nice as we started inside then went outside for 2 tastings and then went back inside for the last 2 tastings. This place is located in the same building as Rosie's Cannonball, so after the wine tasting we went there for dinner. Great Wednesday night. We did purchase a lovely wine. Next time we will buy some cheese. Make sure to register online for the wine tasting. 1st time here but it will not be the last time here.

Love the cheese board and flight options every time I come here. Service has been hit or miss with certain staff, but it is a seat yourself location. You are able to purchase a cheese or wine to enjoy there or take home which has helped in a pinch if we didn't love a selection given. Do not recommend for groups over 4, there just isn't enough seating.

When I saw this racklette event on 365 Things To Do Houston, I was so excited for a cute cheese and wine day. Thankfully, valet was complimentary upon arrival to the event. We saw a line of people waiting for their cheese, so we joined them. There was a bit of confusion as we saw people leaving the line. We soon realized that you can't get the racelette until you've been seated. Whilst waiting to be seated, we enjoyed some wine in their wine room. This room is cozy and homey, I just wish they had more seats available! I also ordered an apple tarte tartin which was delicious! The tart was thick and the filling was creamy with a hint of cinnamon. It was then topped with thin slices of tightly rolled up apples. I wish I had taken more pictures of the experience but between holding my purse and wine, I was out of hands!

    Love the cheese here.

I can't believe I've lived in Houston for this many years and never stopped by Houston Dairymaids…read more I learned that they're the backbones of many restaurants' cheese selections, and I had to trace it back to the origin. A small, discreet shop with a backyard-like parking lot, it's unassuming on the outside but full of character on the inside. Upon entering, you're welcomed with samples of the five cheeses of the week, generally going from soft to firmer and stronger. Their cheeses are displayed in a small fridge, but you can always request varietals ahead of time if you've got something in mind. We bought blue cheese they had on sample (the "Ewe Calf to be Kidding" from Wisconsin, a triple-milk (sheep, cow, and goat)) and the last of their Capricorn Goat Blue cheeses for about $10/piece. Since they rotate out their cheeses weekly, it may become a regular stop on our weekend grocery trips (they mention that many people do that). They also mentioned that their wines rotate out and they have a good relationship with local distributors to understand what pairs well with their cheeses. They also let you start an account so that you can keep a history of all the cheese you buy. You better bet that I signed up. They're celebrating their 20 year anniversary in Houston. I wish I had come earlier to experience some of those years. It's got to be a cornerstone of Houston cheese and probably the among the best cheesemongers in Houston.

I ended up picking up two blue cheeses--penicillium-based cheeses are definitely my favorite. One of the highlights was discovering Shooting Star Creamery and their zodiac-inspired cheeses. I took home the Capricorn Blue and am excited to try it! I also learned what a quince fruit is for the first time and got to try their quince jelly, which they use as a palate cleanser after samples--such a thoughtful touch. Bonus: I found out that Blue Dorn and Navy Blue source their cheese from here, which makes perfect sense given the quality. Definitely a spot I plan to become a regular at!

The parking was a bit of a challenge, but it was easy enough because it was a calm Tuesday morning. To get from the parking area to the store, you just take the elevator one level down, and then you're right inside. This place is surprisingly big, filled with all kinds of snacks, cookies, and coffee. The highlight for me was their shawarma breakfast wrap. It was top-notch and exactly what I needed. You choose between whole wheat or white pita, and it's filled with scrambled eggs, your choice of fresh or sautéed spinach, and they add potatoes as well. Then they top it with shawarma chicken, tomato, and a delicious sauce. For $8.5 it was worth every bite. Hands down, a five out of five. I also tried their coffee, which was just a standard brew sitting in ice for hours and nothing special. At $2.50, it was fine, but nothing to write home about. The real stars were the cookies. I got a coconut pecan cookie and an almond crunch cookie, and both were absolutely delicious. I didn't have time to explore the whole store, but there was a great selection of fresh produce, chocolates, and all sorts of small treats.
