It is a very fancy place to get drinks and it has a nice ambience, but the only caveat is that it is connected to a hotel. I went because this was the only bar open during Labor Day when I had guest visiting. So I would say it's a pretty nice location, considering the fact that it is always consistently open. They had a good menu with different cocktails that were fun and fruity. Otherwise, I did also see people could order coffee at the bar and have different espresso drinks. It looks like the drink that I ordered is also no longer on the menu. The bar prides itself on having a rotating meal changing menu so I think that's a lot of fun when it comes to trying new drinks and new combinations and it truly shows the artistry of the bartender. There was the option of both indoor and outdoor seating. The interior was more of a dimmer, elegant and darker tone. I can see it being pretty classic if you were to go at night time. The bar set up was really beautiful and they had different 2 to 4 seating wooden tables. Overall, the inside would probably only fit around 20 people. I was very sad because we couldn't sit outside. The day before it had rained so every outdoor seating was wet. But I was told that they had a beautiful seating outside with a garden and a pool. Service was good. The bartender came out of the bar to take orders, give menus and give you the check. I will say that it got really busy at the end and it took a while to get our check. There's only one or two bartenders working at one time so if there's multiple people with different drinks that are ordered, it will take a little bit longer. On a Friday evening, as the last stop of the evening, we walked over to Bar No. 3 for a nightcap. Located inside the Colombe d'Or Hotel in Montrose, Bar No. 3 is their hotel bar. Not hard to find, it's located to the right as you walk in. What brought us here is that it's listed as one of the top 50 bars in Houston in Houstonia Magazine. Service (3/5): While we had a waitress, she was slow to greet us and slow to check up on us. It's a small bar and there isn't a ton of seating so it's not like she was overwhelmed. For a fancy hotel, you expect better. Maybe sitting at the bar is better than sitting at some seats as we did. Ambiance (4/5): The Colombe d'Or is a beautiful hotel and Bar No. 3 reflects that. It's an elegant spot to grab a drink, although small. Food (N/A): While there are expensive items on the menu, I had dinner earlier that night so I was on a liquid diet. Drinks (3/5): Bar No. 3 is known for its cocktails so I focused on the cocktail list. The list isn't large but it features a nice selection. Like the food, you're going to pay a premium. I enjoyed my adult beverage but felt like it was a bit overpriced. Hitting up hotel bars isn't a common occurrence in Houston unless you're a traveler. Nice atmosphere & delicious espresso martini! We went on Wednesday in the middle of the afternoon and were the only the ones in bar and restaurant so I can't speak to a typical experience. It's lively and quiet at the same time. little cozy nooks everywhere. there was a wedding party in the next room with the piano so it was fun. Walking into the bar area, it was busy, as it was a Saturday night but we were able to get a table in close proximity to this guy, new to the area who was waiting on a date, we ended up chatting and adding each other on instagram. The bar has a deco decor and music playing. It's relatively bright for a bar and service is somewhat slow, but it has a nice atmosphere. The drinks really have a nice aftertaste. Came here on a Sunday night for drinks, and their ambiance is lovely. It's refined, crisp, and clean. The bar is to the right, and restaurant is to the left after you enter. Valet is complimentary. Service is on point, and the bartenders are excellent at making suggestions and drinks that are off the menu. I went for the Shalom (rum, peychaud's, aperol, egg white, orgeant, lime, tonic), which was refreshing, flavorful, and light. Also tried the entre ciel et mer (tequila, rum, velvet falernum, tokaji, peychaud's) which was on the boozier side. Their East of the Pecos (tequila, mezcal, cremosa verde, orgeat pinapple, lime, celery) had the most unique rim - it was like tajin with curry flavor. Sometimes all we need is a little glow up to remind the world that we're a gem, right? Well, maybe not for everyone, but it served Bar No 3 well. Tucked in a corner nook of Colombe d'Or, this quiet little pocket speak easy is honestly a must try. Visiting during Roma's reign, we were blown away by their limited, but effective, cocktail menu, (I would list my bourbon cocktail of choice, but I think the menu is seasonal) and against all odds their Lyon Burger. Honestly, I don't even eat burgers- particularly those with a $23 price tag, but this baby was worth every calorie and every penny. If you take nothing else from this review- order the Lyon burger! Parking and locating the bar can be tricky. We ended up parking on the surrounding streets and entering through the residences (no complaints, it's a nice little tour), but exiting the front of the building, we realized it would have been a much more efficient entry. Whichever way you find yourself there, with well crafted cocktails under $20, a few delicious bites, and a porch swing that will evoke your childlike sense of play after a few drinks, I'm loving Colombe d'Or's glow up (including but not limited to Bar No 3) read more

I've driven by this place so many times but didn't realize it was a cool bar and restaurant! My friends and I didn't go to the restaurant but we went to the bar area which gave speakeasy vibes, and there was a pianist playing live music. For drinks I had the sleeper which was along the lines of an espresso martini with a slightly creamy flavor. My friends had La Colombe No 2 (presentation was amazing, and it tasted very fresh), and eureka heights. For the table we shared the bone marrow with toast which was actually very tasty and had capers, garlic, and microgreens. I've heard that this place gets pretty busy but when we went around 10 pm on a rainy evening, there were enough tables open for us to be comfortable. Beautiful bar. Reminds me of the cocktail lounges in NYC and Boston. The couches in the front lounge are really deep and uncomfortable to sit in though. You kind of just sink into it so it's hard to maintain a convo. All of our cocktails were meh, not strong, not good, nothing worth coming back for. This was our first time here, just by chance. We had been in the area looking at wedding venues and the bartender, Sergio, had overheard our conversation and gave us a sincere congratulations. It was super sweet and heartwarming! Bar No. 3 has a frequently rotating cocktail menu with drinks designed by the chefs and staff, making it a fun place to return to multiple times throughout the year. The ambience is quite nice, with the bar area in the green-themed room and another seating area in a blue-themed room. I came for a drink on a Thursday night prior to heading out to dinner.
