Cute little spot! There's plenty of parking on the side of the building in their lot. They have a good truck that I'm not sure if it rotates, but there was Mexican food the time I went and it was delish! Came here on a Wednesday for a little happy hour drink with my friend, I ordered the espresso martini. It was strong, but good. I believe they have karaoke on Wednesdays, so we came here around the time they were setting up for it. The only thing I'd recommend is to lower the music down a bit because I felt like I was screaming at my friend in broad daylight. We wanted to come here because of the mini tinis they had advertised on their Instagram, but they discontinued those :( Great spot for a little happy hour, I'd come back!

Stopped by on a Friday after work, during their "WTF Power Hour" Wednesdays, Thursday, Fridays (as of August 2025) featuring $1 mini martini's until 6PM. Ambiance: 3/5 Parking is a mix. There is pay for parking, it's not much as $5 but it's a small lot, and there seems to be a gravel sided parking behind it which you have to be careful to park at. Which basically you can be charged or towed for. It was 5:30 and the place was buzzing, with the doorman indicating that it was busy inside and that it was. And so was the patio area with no spot to sit. We stood for a bit, but thankfully shortly after, a couple left and offered our group their bench. Service: 5/5 Bartenders are friendly and were working quick to get to everyone. Even though it was busy, they managed it well. During the happy hour was informed you can only order 2 drinks per person. Drinks: 4/5 Happy Hour Mini Espresso Martini: 4/5- nothing noteworthy, it was simple and tasted fine. Gin Martini (filthy) 5/5- not a listed cocktail, but bartender was focused when he made it with my selected gin (Hendricks) smooth and just right on filth. Vodka Martini (3/5) - my friend ordered it and didn't want it. It had a bite when sipped, but the more we let it sit and marinate, it smoothed out. There was a food truck in the front, but we didn't order from there. Spot is nice, depending the time you go (Happy Hour) it will be crowded.

TLDR: GO HANGOUT AT ALMOST FAMOUS! First time checking out Almost Famous and I'll definitely return! We stopped in on a Wednesday afternoon during the start of their happy hour! We were the first and only patrons for about an hour or so. We indulged in a variety of drinks which I'll list below. I want to talk about the ambiance and vibe of the place first. There's an outside patio in the back, didn't go back there because it was too hot. The inside is on the smaller side, and I think this is great because it's makes the space feel quaint and cozy. A few high top tables and bar area seating available. Jodie is super friendly, and provided great service. One of my favorite things about Almost Famous are the Polaroid pictures on the wall behind the bar, which they have deemed as "The Wall of Fame." We took a picture and it's now on said wall! I love this simple, yet fun way to engage/interact with customers. They offer weekly specials, karaoke, and they have different food trucks for your enjoyment. We ordered the drinks listed below: -House Prosecco -House Champagne -Naked & Famous -Bayou Bramble During the WTF POWER HOUR we indulged on the $1 tiny tinis ~ -Espresso -Cosmo *The WTF Power Hour is each Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 5pm-6pm! *On Wednesdays happy hour is ALL DAY! Yep you read that right all day honey! *Happy hour is from 3pm-7:30pm on Thursdays and Fridays! *Deals are all day on Sundays as well. Check the photos out! We will return very soon. Jodie at the bar is phenomenal! Ask for her every time! Check this place out!

Small but charming interior bar in the Heights. Great outdoor turfed space in the back with TVs and some outdoor games. Drinks were definitely "Heights prices." Two espresso martinis were $35+ total. Good news is they were good and the bartenders were great!

    Dismissive bar tenders

was really excited to try Almost Famous for the first time and had heard great things about the atmosphere. Unfortunately, my experience didn't match the expectations. We went on a Saturday midday and it was surprisingly slow, which made the interaction at the bar even more disappointing. When we asked a few basic questions about drinks, the bartender came across as dismissive and lacked basic manners and professionalism. It felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming, especially as first-time guests just trying to get a feel for the menu. We ended up leaving shortly after because the service just wasn't there. I'm always happy to give places a fair shot, but first impressions matter, especially in hospitality. I hope this was just an off day, because the space itself has potential.

Such a fun neighborhood spot! My espresso martini was delightful. The whiskey sour was also amazing. The service was also amazing. I can't wait to visit this place again soon!

    Gross sink

Genuinely shocked this place has 4.3 stars here. 1. It has no identity. It's supposed to be a cocktail bar but its cocktails are really awful. I had to send mine back. It's also not a casual bar bc it has 3 beers on tap. So I can't get a good beer on tap or a good drink. K. 2. Like I mentioned, I don't know what this place is supposed to be. The decor is sort of modern like they're trying to be an upscale cocktail bar but they also play only country music and have tv screens and other non upscale cocktail decor going on like Polaroids on the wall. It isn't an interesting juxtaposition, it's just confusing. 3. Cocktails were impressively bad. 4. Bathrooms were gross. It looks like they haven't cleaned the sinks in weeks. Photo here. 5. We tried bringing our kids during brunch and were given attitude. Totally ok for a place to be 21+, but there was no sign. So it was a weird interaction. Wanted to love this place as we love restaurants/bars in craftsman houses with big yards, but this was bad all around.

Met the GM Anthony and he was so pleasant. ! Great bar, chill vibes and good drinks, open parking.

    Old fashioned

Great drinks. Visited for the first time and they had a fall drink menu the smores old fashioned was delicious also had not your grandmas pie. Service is okay. We visited early and they had one bartender. Ambience depends on the crowd..but they have a big outdoor area.

Located in the heights off 19th. It is a quaint location that has a good indoor and outdoor ambiance. Outside have a selection of games. Their drink prices are as expected for the heights. Their staff are nice and knowledgeable. We look forward to go back here again.

Waited too late to book reservation so got bar seating but it was just fine and service was great. Upon arriving we were so nicely greeted by the hostess, felt very welcome. Our cocktails were very good--and Old Fashioned and a "Crime!". For a starter we had the aka obi, then the endive salad (best I've had!) and for entrees we shared the shrimp and the whole striped bass which is butterflied. For dessert we got the Basque Cheesecake and it was heavenly. Baso has quickly become my favorite high-end restaurant in the Heights. The portions are nice and the flavors are outstanding. We left beyond satisfied and looking forward to our next foodie adventure at Baso.

This is a bit of a dated review, but we came here for a Valentine's dinner as a special occasion. We got seats at the bar counter behind the fire (which to me was the best seat in the house) so we could be close to the action. One thing you'll notice is that the place is quite loud, I think which owes to the low ceilings (so don't expect like a quiet and romantic vibe). The meal started out great with the bread and butter - bread was sourced from Magnol, which was a huge green flag to start. The oysters were extremely fresh and absolutely delicious. We also had a dish with tuna over crispy rice which was my fiancee's favorite of the night. My personal favorite was the salad (I know that is crazy to say at a restaurant that specializes in live fire cooking) - but the way they zested all different types of citrus/lemons, peppers, chiles, and the way the herbs they put into it, created what was one of the most memorable salads I have ever had. All in all the food was excellent. Service was great (the night we were there, Max Lappe was there sending out food to customers himself). I do kind of wish the atmosphere was a little more quiet. With that said, expect to spend around $200pp (we did share a bottle of wine though).

I was so excited to try Jun on the heels of their impressive win of James Beard's Best Restaurant 2026 award, and my foodie friend and I eagerly embarked on the journey through their tasting menu. Alas, the trip turned bitter... multiple times. On the bright side, service was gracious and attentive, and I was impressed with our server's knowledge of the menu and prep details. And we actually kicked the meal off on a promising note with 2 highlights. The espresso martini was STELLAR and easily one of the best I've had. I was also dying to try the oysters (oysters + beef tallow = yes please!) that were not on the tasting menu, and the flavors were wonderfully complex: briny, savory, with a delightful kick from the chili oil. I couldn't wait for the rest of this meal! Unfortunately, we found every single course that followed to be decidedly underwhelming. Their tamales' flavor was flat, and its lack of any filling was disappointing though the chicken skin on top was tasty. The skin on the fish was flavorful, but the flesh was unremarkable and could have been saved with a sauce or even a brown butter bath. The bitterness in the brisket course was overpowering and off-putting, and the carrots also tasted bitter. The dessert course was split: the bitterness continued into the doughnuts, which was unpleasant, but the cheese flan was delicious. The restaurant itself is a tasteful mix of industrial chic elements, and the dining room space is on the quaint side. Parking is a bear as is the case with too many restaurants in The Heights, and there is no valet so plan accordingly. My friend and other patrons had to drive around and lurk for 10 minutes until class at the neighboring workout studio let out and opened up some spaces. Curb your expectations here... something someone should never have to do an award-winning restaurant.
