Late night bite to eat...last minute plan. We didn't want Taco Bell, we wanted REAL food. Got lucky to score a cocktail table in the bar area. Jumping right in, we get Taylor's amazing martinis with those memorable olives. Our sever was our vibe...cool, sassy, and could keep up with our humor. We ordered the caviar. If you're not ordering the caviar, then what are you doing? The accouterments were diced beautifully and devoured gracefully. He chose the duck, I chose the crab cavatelli, both were a palette shocker from the last time we visited. The mango sauce on the duck was the proper balance needed for a rich protein, and well, the cavatelli, #2 pasta I've had in my life. After raving about dinner, we opted for the Mexican ice cream sandwich and a carajillo, don't judge, just do it. Michelin path is an understatement. Cannnot wait to come back and do it all again.

I really wanted to love this place because I have seen so many videos about it, but in all honesty it just did not wow me. The appetizers were good but nothing that really stood out. For my entree I got the spaghetti carbonara and maybe carbonara is just not for me, but it tasted very bland in my opinion. Dessert was what I was most excited about since I love chocolate. The presentation of the cake was beautiful, but the cake itself was a little dry and honestly reminded me of a microwave mug cake. Not saying it was made that way at all, but that is what it felt like and it was not worth the price which left me disappointed. The service was very good though. Our waiter was kind and attentive, especially since I cannot have pork or gelatin. He made sure nothing I ordered had those ingredients and even recommended desserts without gelatin. I really wanted to try the chocolate cake, so he said they could make it without gelatin which I appreciated. Overall the food just did not hit the spot for me. The prices are high and I expected more from the flavor. The one dish I really enjoyed was the cream spinach side which was delicious. The ambience was nice, very tavern like, but the food just did not match the hype for me unfortunately

I mean.. it's Bludorn. You really cannot go wrong with anything Aaron touches. And that's facts. We really made a night of it and started with Happy Hour. We had raw and cooked oysters that were amazing! You could have ended the night there, but of course we kept going!!! When we finished indulging in the HH we were kindly assisted to our table... Let's pause a minute and recognize every single staff member at this place. From the bougie bread service, to hostess, to waitstaff, to management... The attention to detail is insane and you will not go with wanting a thing for more than half a second here. Notably, my friend asked for club soda to remove hot sauce from his shirt (hehe) and he was offered not only club soda but a shout wipe and the manger came by to check on him.. Whattt!! The bar has been set, and I am forever changed from this experience.. Ok, ok.. The food! We had a lovely steak cooked to perfection. The best carbonara with a nice twist that really makes it stand out from the basic B carbonaras and a nice risotto to round out the meal. Really just order whatever sounds exciting to you and it will undoubtedly be great. HH -- I believe was until 6 and only in the bar area. Parking - complementary valet Overall an amazing experience with too legit food so get that resy in the bag!

We came here on a Saturday night for dinner. Though the location is a bit farther out and unassuming from the outside, it's very nice inside! Don't mistake the name - this definitely isn't bar food. Reservations are a must, and even then we were waiting for a bit and got drinks at the bar (standing room only!). We were seated soon after and our waitress made several recommendations. Drinks were great - we got a couple of cocktails. Fava hummus- 5/5 - this was amazing! Unique spin on hummus with the halloumi cheese and it comes with tasty bread and veggies to dip. This unfortunately filled us quite up, so watch out for that bread! Hamachi tostada - 4/5 - it's just one tostada, so a bit harder to share. But tasty nonetheless! Spaghetti carbonara - 5/5 - my wife was a fan! Scallops - 2/5 - this was not good. We often get scallops when we eat out, we're big fans. But these scallops tasted like they weren't fresh and they were tiny, the succotash that was under wasn't very great either. It's kind of ridiculous for a $60 plate. Zucchini and shishito side - 5/5 - super tasty and unique as a side! It's a nice mixture with what seemed like some soy sauce. We were glad we got this - I'd definitely recommend it. We were stuffed after this and had no room for dessert unfortunately. Overall a delicious meal (except for the scallops). We'll likely be back to try more!

Steak tartare ($25) -- asked for horseradish on the side (it's strong!), potato rosti were crispy and well seasoned too

Having frequented Bludorn, I was curious to try their offshoot concept, Bar Bludorn. The food is similar, maybe a little more "southern cooking" focused, and still high quality and scrumptious. We actually enjoyed this meal more than our visit to Bludorn a few weeks earlier! The ambiance is reminiscent of a steakhouse with a slightly updated but retro take (the server outfits reminded me of judges of the Hunger Games or Star Trek!). Service was very friendly, and almost all of the waitstaff were upbeat and grinning. Only the valet team seemed a bit snide but... it was kind of hot outside so maybe they weren't in their best set of mind. Parking is only valet too, although it is complimentary. Dinner started with their complimentary Parker house rolls which are so poofy and cute. The interior is like milk bread so a little denser than a normal bread roll. It came with salted (yay!) butter. Tasty and pretty but not amazing enough to ask for extra rolls. ** Steak tartare (4.5/5): seasoned with a bit of vinegar, quite savory/umami, and I loved the warm crispy potato rounds (like tater tots!). Definitely ask for the horseradish on the side-- took a nibble and it was stronggggg ** Beet hummus (4/5): came pretty in pink and with a mound of goat cheese, tray of cut vegetables, and fluffy zaatar bread. Still a savory dish overall, great to share and tasty. ** Blue crab pasta (4/5): loved the Fresno chile sauce, which was bright in color, creamy, and rich. Just enough salt without being overly salted. The crab didn't seem like it was from a can. The cavatelli pasta was almost like a gnocchi, kind of soft and not quite the al dente preferred with other pastas (my first time having cavatelli so not sure if that's the usual texture). The appetizer size was a perfect portion to share between two people. ** Roasted carrots (4/5): very soft and roasted until a bit shriveled-- but I'm a carrot fan, so hard to disappoint me. I didn't think it needed the extra aioli-like sauce ** Mushrooms (4.5/5): variety of shrooms = different textures and fun to eat! Definitely quite vinegar-y and tangy. The cooked down onions added a nice sweetness. ** Dry aged striploin (3.5/5): The inside was cooked more medium than medium-rare as requested, so was a little dry for me. It came with a super delicious Au poivre vert sauce (creamy and tastes like shallots and maybe some carrots?). I only tried one bite but I'm not a steak expert, while MT polished it off and said it was a pretty good steak! ** Salmon (4.5/5): the salmon itself was beautifully cooked, still oily and moist but being fully cooked inside with that crispy skin! Delish~~ The slight vinegar flavor in the lentils distracted from the experience, and some of the greens had a really bitter flavor. Otherwise the trout roe was a fun bit of additional flavor and texture contrast! Overall, great meal and worth venturing out to try! I'll be back for more of the menu + dessert!

Cool/Chill dinner spot! Made reservations ahead of time. The starter bread and butter was hot and fresh! Even got a 2nd loaf. Started off with the raw and baked oysters. The raw oysters tasted super fresh and had all the fixings on the side. The baked oysters were alright. They may have burned it a little too much. For my drink, I got a mocktail which was the Charlanrita with tajin on the rim. It was actually pretty similar to a classic margarita without the tequila so it satisfied my craving. Very refreshing! For my main, I got the Pork Chop Saltimbocca. The cook on this was excellent with the crispiness on the outside and very tender/juicy on the inside. The benton's ham was so flavorful and seasoned quite well. Great job on the cook. Side of fries was crispy and loved the aioli sauce it came with. The parmesan risotto was also noteable as well and creamy/texture was on point. The dry aged striploin was cooked to a perfect medium rare. It still remained tender and good pairing with the Au Poivre Vert. The Crepe Cake was similar to a dubai chocolate flavor. Actually quite delicious! Layers of pistachio cream and chocolate blended well together in each bite with the crispy kataifi. Restrooms - Clean, fancy captions and fancy Aesop hand soap Parking - Valet Our server was knowledgeable and kind!

I came with a friend for happy hour drinks on a weekday, but we were told seating was only available at the bar, so we decided to pass on the drinks. That said, our waitress was incredibly sweet. It seemed like she was new, but she was clearly trying her best, and I really want to shout her out for taking such great care of us! We started with the Fritto Misto as our appetizer. For my entrée, I went with the short rib Reuben--and I'm so glad I did. The rye bread was buttery and rich (my fingers definitely felt the aftermath), but it was absolutely worth it. Every component was what you'd expect from a Reuben, but it felt elevated. We ended up staying for quite a while, and by the time we left, the place was packed and had more of a night life vibe to it.

So we have been here a few times but it's my first review. Service is lovely. Inside is so loud that we enjoy sitting outside instead. The steaks are amazing. My husband goes the steak route. I always try something different and this time I was a bit disappointed. The gnocchi was so mushy and the lobster was rubbery. But honestly. The steak is where it is at and I'd happily go back.

From my experience Bar Bludorn provides a better experience than the original location. The restaurant is an open concept with a front facing kitchen towards the rear of the restaurant. They provide a sophisticated wine menu that pairs well with their ever evolving menu. While the service was top notch, the chefs are quite young and certain items could have been better executed. My duck came in 3 pieces. Unfortunately the knife provided did not have a serrated edge. Upon request I received the same style knife which took far too much effort to cut. I would suggest the kitchen prepare the duck in smaller portions. Additionally, the kitchen forgot the sautéed carrots which were received charred and should have never left the kitchen. They mitigated this concern by providing a complimentary Rice Pudding. While it was a little on the sweet side, the flavor profile is complex and everything is made from scratch adding more emphasis to the experience. I will return and would recommend giving Bar Bludorn an opportunity. Reservations are recommended.

I ate her for my birthday with wife and daughter. It has the reputation of being hard to get in so we were fortunate to get a Friday night reservation. We ate outside on the patio which was much quieter than inside and the 70 or so temperature was pleasant. there were 4 or 5 tables outside but service was great, we were not forgotten. To be honest, we started inside but it was just too loud. I started with some sort of tequila martini which i had about half of. I have decided tequila and vermouth do not mix The fresh main oysters provided an excellent start to the meal. They also had Brunswick but i opted for the main, good size, fresh ocean taste and full of flavor. I moved onto the pasta which was full of flavor and again, a very fresh taste. My wife had filet mignon which she said was excellent, far better than the same she had had at other places around Houston. My daughter liked the duck, again, high quality and flavorful. We had some sautéed spinach and French fries as slides which were also great. The wine list was expensive but quality items. The 2020 1er cru Beaune blended well with all our our plates. As it was my birthday they greeted us with the little cake and candle you see below. Nice meal, i will be back.

The moms wanted to have Houston Restaurant Weeks here so we went for it. When I showed up I remembered being there before. It's the old Jonathan's the Rub Building. 1) Parking: it's valet. No lie I parked at the shopping center right next to it because all of the stores were closed and didn't get towed ‍. Some of the moms Ubered from the Heights but it's a close enough drive. 2) Service: everyone was very nice and polite 3) Environment: it was really stinking loud in there and hard to hear anyone, even our wait staff. Felt like I was yelling all night. Not great acoustics. 4) Food: didn't take pictures but we got the hamachi tostada which was tasty and the ham and cheese beignets, also tasty. They also give you complimentary roll and the most whipped butter ever it looked like sour cream to me. The HRW menu was a good mix. I got the shrimp tart which was sad shrimp that tasted like it was from Argentina. I know that's a weird description but I was born and raised on Gulf Shrimp from Galveston and that was no gulf shrimp which I thought was odd because they have an emblem on the menu saying they support the Galveston Bay Foundation. Anyway it was a little too tart and tangy. I get there was supposed to be a mix of flavor but sometimes too much is too much. I picked the branzino for my main course and it was well cooked. I just ate the fish itself. I didn't care for the bed of stuff it was on. I also got the blueberry cake and the whipped cream and sprinkle of salt was clutch but the cake itself was really dry. I absolutely love Navy Blue so I was looking forward to this place and it is most definitely a four star place. I was hoping for a little more simplicity in the food as opposed to a beautifully dressed item. Good food speaks for itself but all the garnish and extra took away from the main menu items themselves.

Aaron Bludorn's newest, more "casual" concept does not disappoint. The atmosphere is inviting, cozy and classy with a grand view of the kitchen. Service is top with attention to all details. Food is excellent. The carrot ginger soup - fantastic. Ham beignets are good. Steak tartare remarkable. Those are your starters. Steak is a low key, highlight. Pastas are solid. I can't wait to try the Short-rib Rueben. Wine program is very respectable. If you haven't been, give them a try. If you have, well - you know.

We celebrated my mom's birthday at Bar Bludorn and had an amazing time from start to finish. The staff made us feel genuinely welcomed and made my mom feel really special. The food was outstanding, Country Ham Beignets was dangerously good, savory, fluffy and the pappardelle pasta we're absolutely going back for. Just can't thank you enough for such experience

The vibe inside is super cute with mood lighting and plenty of intimate seating spaced throughout. Parking in said shopping center is sparse. I'm not sure if parking is allowed at the neighboring businesses after hours, but I wanted to play it safe and ended up waiting about 15 minutes for someone to vacate their space. Our group had a couple of tables reserved and they had no problem having everyone pay on separate tabs. Service is offered both at the table and bar. Our waiter was attentive and had great recommendations for wine. When I was conflicted between two whites, he graciously brought me out both to taste and decide. I went with the Cacciabruco Malvasia/Trebbiano, which is a skin-contact white wine, so it had more of a reddish hue to it and almost looked like a rose in the dim lighting of the restaurant. I really liked this, as it was on the drier side and satisfied my palate more than the Gewürztraminer that I had also sampled. I didn't try the food but others in our party really liked the flatbreads they ordered. I do want to try these out next time because I know they will pair great with the wine! I'm glad I finally discovered this place! I'll definitely be back for happy hour and even a date night. With so many good places popping up in in Spring Branch, I'm sure this will become a regular spot for drinks before dinner

There are books abound, along the walls, in the bathroom, everywhere. I had a glass of Experience, a Californian Cabernet Sauvignon. It was a good pour, not too little or too much and the taste was deep, well balanced and smooth. Since the event took place around dinner time I also had a Fig and Speck flatbread. The fig, prosciutto and other toppings complimented each other well. The flatbread dough itself was ok but could've benefited from a little more flavor such as some garlic, butter and herbs. I also would've liked it a bit thinner so I could taste less of the bread and more of those delicious toppings. Don't get me wrong it was good and I ate all of it but these are small suggestions I'd recommend to bring it to perfection. I could see parking and seating being tricky. I was fortunate to snag a parking spot on the side of the building near the auto place and once inside I found a seat at a table with a lovely couple, another couple joined us soon after. Many of the guests who arrived later stood at first and then halfway through the event, made their way to the floor where they sat cross legged. All in all, The Library was a nice establishment and although a little out of my way, I'd return for another event or if I were in the area again.

Our friend booked a reservation and was able to add a fourth person without any issues. It's on Westheimer where all the restaurants and shops are, so it's pretty busy. One of our friends who arrived early got to switch us to a booth since we'd have a few plates to share for the four of us. My friend and I shared the NA red sangria. I liked that there was a NA option for that, and you can choose either red or white. We ordered a pitcher since we were sharing. It was delicious and refreshing. I think I had about 3 wine glasses of it. Our group shared the red fish à la plancha, patatas bravas, spinach frittata, olive oil pancakes and bacon-wrapped dates. Some of the dishes were bigger than others. Tapas is meant to be small plates, and they were, but it's a little overpriced. For example, the red fish was $15.50 for maybe 2 oz of fish. The stack of olive oil pancakes were small and thin for $8.50. If you're sharing, it's not that much food. I was going to order another personal stack of olive oil pancakes because that cinnamon butter was so good! I decided not to after I let all of what we ordered and drank settle for a bit after. The valdeon whipped blue cheese under the bacon-wrapped dates didn't taste very good and seemed grainy to me. It was my least favorite. The standouts for me were the olive oil pancakes, spinach frittata that was actually loaded with more veggies and bell peppers and the patatas bravas which was piled with potatoes topped with mayo that melted down and looked almost like melted cheese on top. It's a fun place for friends to gather or a cute date spot. You may or may not be hungry after depending what you order. There are larger plates/entrees like paella and branzino to share.

It overlooks a few rows of vines along with herbs and vegetables, which makes it feel peacefully designed. The cheese board was fantastic with a generous spread and variety. The wines were lovely too with bottles from different regions. If you're in Houston I recommend checking out Nice Winery and considering a membership. My friends all do the monthly one red and one white option, pick up at the winery, and enjoy a glass together on the patio. It is a great spot for a relaxed day!.

Upon arrival, we had time to peruse wines and chat in the rustic lobby. Then our educator Katie gathered us and led us to the Founders' Room, where we found wine, charcuterie and coziness awaiting. We sampled six wines, including two from their charity series and one from their virtue series. Katie walked us through how they became involved with charities, the meaning behind their virtue wines, and what Nice does to create and partner with other vineyard producing sustainable wines. We walked the property, seeing where grapes, herbs and other fruits are grown. This visit was a delight. As a non wine connoisseur, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and will likely visit again.

We went on a Saturday night with some friends and let me just say that the patio over there was POPPING. We made a reservation for inside and were seated upon arriving. For dinner we ordered a bunch of stuff to share - Crudo, Meatballs, Roasted Carrots, Not Hawaiian Pizza and the Wild Mushroom Pizza. Everything was great but we really loved the crudo and both pizzas. Our only service hiccup of the evening was when our pizzas came out before our meatballs and carrots. Before we could even say anything our waiter, Juan Sebastian, was on top of it. He noticed immediately, came to the table and said that he was going to send them back and have them re-made to arrive after we finished our appetizers which we really appreciated. Really great casual neighborhood pizza spot with nice upscale small plates and a great outdoor patio.
