It's intimate and cozy, nice big bar. They have a good selection of liquor and house specialty cocktails. I had the watermelon high $16 and a bourbon smash $17. Both suited me perfectly, pretty presentation and ever better going down. The prices were reasonable for fancy cocktails. The bathrooms are clean, single stalls. Plenty of parking. The place was cute, very dim and nicely decorated. The music was at a nice decibel so we could hear one another. We came right at opening so there was no DJ at the time. The drinks were made well, but the drink menu just didn't spark my fancy. We got a small charcuterie board which was pretty good and big enough for 2 if you just want a snack. I gave 3 stars because anytime I have to pay $10, in this case for valet, before I even hit the door and to just go to a bar is not my cup of tea. This place was so cute and such a good experience. My husband and I were on that side of town visiting family and decided to stop in. The instagram said they had a dress code so we were a little concerned and we were worried we weren't able to get a table because reservations were needed. I called them first and asked about both. The lady was so nice and let me know it was a pretty laxxed dress code and since there were only two of us we didn't need a reservation. There is no self parking and the valet is $10. The lady I spoke to on the phone was at the front counter and let us in the back wall. It had gotten busy so we had two different bartenders and both were so nice and suggested different drinks. Smartly designed, decorated, and paired with low lighting this venue easily sets the atmosphere for intimate conversations and just a great time with your partner or a small group of friends. The signature cocktails were definitely mixologist curated, well balanced in flavor and alcohol, the espresso martini made with rum as opposed to vodka was probably one of the best espresso martinis I've ever had and I think they should all be made that way now. I visited on Valentine's evening so we did make reservations but I do believe reservations are a standard regardless of the day. My only disappointment was that you have a two hour table time limit which is fine. The problem came in as it was very apparent that a lot of reservations including ours were booked over a private party so we were, albeit politely, rushed to close out before our allotted time limit to accommodate the party reservation. I'm glad we were able to enjoy a good amount of time here but I really feel bad for the people who arrived after us as I'm sure felt the same pressure to leave as well. Yes, yes! Aye Candy = a "hidden" gem. Came for a girls night one evening and it was a great experience! When you're driving up, be sure to be on the lookout; if you blink, you might miss it. There is a small parking lot in front of the speakeasy. My friend and I made reservations ahead of time, and once we walked in, we gave our name and were escorted to the speakeasy. I got curious and asked - was it real candy in the front of Aye Candy? Yes, yes it is :). When entering the speakeasy, it truly feels like you're walking into a new place; dimmed lighting, upscale attire, music, floral decor, etc. It's truly a vibe and I'm here for it. Staff was incredible friendly and helpful. We asked for their specialties and recommendations for drinks and were happy with our choices. Drinks are not weak, so savor them and enjoy them. Aye Candy is not where you go to through back drinks, it's where you go to savor them over a delicious board of goodies. This is a lovely speakeasy that is disguised as a candy shop from the outside. In terms of parking, valet is the only option unless you park in the residential area across the street. Don't park in the stores next to Aye Candy because you will get towed. Valet is $10 from Friday-Sunday but free during the weekday. The iside is dimly lit and beautifully decorated. The bathrooms are also a vibe! My friend and I ordered the following: Royale This was actually recommended by the bartender when I asked him which drink is the sweetest. Royale was a solid choice and I wish I tried the flower because it's edible- next time :)! Aye Candy Gin & Tonic My friend ordered this and it was such a gorgeous drink! Most of the drinks I've had there have been delicious and the staff are super sweet too. I love that I can go there alone with a book and enjoy myself or bring friends. Service wise, we made a reservation for 2 on a Thurs night 745pm. There was no problems getting checked in, they open the door and you're instantly transported to a hidden bar/lounge. We decided to sit at the bar so we could see all the action of them making the drinks. We tried their aye candy gin and tonic, a classic margarita, moradita shots, and their signature espresso flor martini. All of the drinks were craftfully made and presented beautifully. The ambiance here was perfect for an intimate date night. The only downside to coming here is that they don't really have any food options available. They offer free valet parking which was great because the lot next door was definitely sketchy. We were able to book a reservation the same day. We went it and was seated at the bar until out table was ready. Service was great. I was waiting to get my order taken and the manager saw me and served us. Because I decided to visit on a weeknight, parking was plentiful, but I would imagine on a weekend this being a potential issue. When I made it into the Speakeasy itself, I was struck by how beautiful it was inside. The music was not too loud, the focal point in the space (the bar) was well lit and designed and I loved the overall ambiance. Bartenders made the drinks really well and I was able to try a few drinks including: The Gold Escalade- While Mezcal does not work well in most drinks, pairing it with the pineapple and egg white balanced out that strong smoky flavor. The presentation was beautiful and I'd definitely get this again. Cocosol- The hibiscus salt rim gives this drink a really interesting look. I am a sucker for anything coconut flavored and this drink did not disappoint. Aesthetically beautiful, especially with the flower garnish. Finding the place was a bit tricky since there's no signage near the big blue Progressive light, so keep an eye out for that. Inside, the bar is stunning, and the drinks did not disappoint. We ordered the medium charcuterie board along with a Vanilla Old Fashioned and a Wonka-tini, and both cocktails were fantastic, so much so that we had a few rounds! Service was attentive, though maybe a little too much at times. Our server checked on us frequently, and our waters were topped off even before we had a chance to take a sip. The restrooms were clean, though on the smaller side, so I can imagine there might be a wait during busier hours. One thing that caught us by surprise was the automatic 20% gratuity added to our bill, especially since it was just the two of us. I usually tip generously on my own, so while I understand it's likely in place to ensure staff are compensated fairly (and probably explains the very hands-on service) although, I wish it had been mentioned beforehand, either on the website or when we called to make the reservation. Larne was our server, a handsome young chap. He must be a big deal as he had a specialty cocktail-of-the month on the menu. The tiramisu essepresso martini. I think he was pretty swamped with tables, so I will give him that. It was slow going service. We had to just ask for the bottle of water to be placed on our table so we wouldn't have to keep asking and going empty on our water. There was a mix-up with our individual bills at the end of the night, but he worked it out. Drinks - I enjoyed my first cocktail for the most part. I had the Gold Escalade, which is probably a safe bet if your reading this review prior to going. My second, I got the CocoSol. I should have paid more attention to the description of this drink because it had coconut in it, which I'm not a fan. But it wasn't too bad. I'm suspecting that the parking lot is valet only on weekends as it's pretty small. I arrived around 7:30 the store front is a candy shop with a hidden door that they open when you get in. This is an amazingly well designed look and feel. I love this speak easy vibe. It's kind of easy to miss from the street so make sure you look for the blue and white stripes. It looks like a little house in the front of a tiny shopping center. But it doesn't disappoint. Parking is valet only btw but I can't remember the amount (might be tips?). You walk into the candy shop and then you're taken in to the actual bar. I will say that it looks pretty upscale, but the patrons were pretty relaxed in dress. The music was chilled R&B and pop, which I enjoyed. Very laid back overall, but I'd personally dress cute. It's Instagram worthy. The craft cocktails are so pretty and really tasty. I liked everything I had but I don't think they're strong for the price. We ordered a charcuterie board and that was the only thing I didn't care for from a quality perspective. I did research ahead of time and was able to snag a resi for 6 the same night I went. The reservation process was simple on open table. I'm not sure if there is ample seating without a reservation as the bar was pretty full when we arrived. I loved the ambiance and the candy shop is super cute. However, it kind of fell short after that. The drinks were not well mixed. The spicy marg tasted like hot sauce and the expresso martini lacked the coffee flavor.
