Stopped here for a good dinner over the weekend. It's located along the feeder of i10 near memorial city. Upon entering the hosts were very welcoming and we were seated promptly. The food and drinks were great. I ordered short ribs which I will be returning to have again. I also ordered the crab fried rice which left me disappointed. Overall for $200 this was a good visit.
Masraff's never fails to impress me in every aspect in terms of service and food. The restaurant is nicely decorated with a modern design that is upscale and classy. The staff is always super professional, friendly and timely. The food is always consistently meticulously crafted and always delicious. The complimentary bread is a focaccia bread served warm, and it is perfectly chewy with a nice heat to it. The must-order appetizer is the garlic seared calamari. The calamari is always well-seasoned, flash fried I'm assuming, and served with oyster mushrooms and a garlicky sauce. I have never had calamari prepared this way at any other restaurant. The New England clam chowder was satisfying and served with a biscuit on top. The colossal shrimp risotto had perfectly cooked risotto and ginormous shrimp that were not overcooked. Mr. Masraff always stops by and asks if the food is good; and I am certain that he takes immense pride in his food and service and it is very evident. I have been here 6 or 7 times (6-7!!!) and it's 5 stars every time. They are incredibly great and consistently so. My diagnosis: One of the best restaurants in Houston for upscale New American food.
Valet is $10 but there is a free parking garage in the back. On days where it's busy, it might take you a bit of time to find a spot and get situated so plan ahead if you made reservations. My friend and I came here on a Wednesday night around 6 PM so it wasn't too packed inside the restaurant. Right when we got seated, the waiter took orders for drinks/appetizers and put down a bread basket in front of us. The bread was warm and had salt and rosemary on top- it was delicious with the butter! For drinks, I asked for their sweetest beverage and the server said he'll surprise me. He brought out a pineapple cocktail which was refreshing, spritzy, and had the perfect amount of sweetness to it. For appetizers, my friend and I got the Hudson Valley Foie Gras which was spectacular. It was rich and buttery from the foie gras and thyme butter brioche (that had a nice toasted texture) and was balanced out with the tartness from the strawberries. I highly recommend this dish! In terms of the entree, I ended up getting the American Red Snapper. The exterior was nice and crispy, the filet was flaky, and the flavor was well done with the creamy sauce on top. I also enjoyed the polenta and veggies that came with the fish. I had a bite of my friend's Bison Ribeye and to be honest, it wasn't my favorite. It tasted very sweet like teriyaki jerky but if that's what you look for in a steak, this dish might be for you! As for the sides, we got the jumbo lump crab fried rice and Masraff's creamed spinach. Although I'm not exactly used to zucchini and bell peppers being in fried rice, the generous lumps of crab was appreciated and it was a decent side. The creamed spinach is rich and heavy but paired well with the bread. Overall, I had a pleasant experience at Masraff's!
I have seen this place many times from the Frost Bank that is adjacent. Finally decided that I had to come in here for a birthday dinner. Wow! The food was exceptional. We started out with softshell crab and stone crab legs, which were amazing. Entrées were extremely good and the dessert was next to the level. Great coffee! Great service! Great food! What more do you need? Try it!
We hadn't yet been to their new location and we absolutely loved it. We decided to come for their amazing Valentine's Day menu as it sounded so good with options for any tastes. Location and ambiance is wonderful. Easy to park. Beautiful restaurant and decor. Tables were spaced nicely. Wait staff was exceptional and very attentive. Masraff and son were both there to see over everything. They approached every table to thank them for choosing their restaurant for this special occasion. I thought that was so nice of them. The food was exquisite. Very high quality and nice attention to detail. We will definitely be back.
Made reservations to dine in Valentines day for 5pm. The restaurant was already full of patrons. The last time ive been to Masraff's was when they were in the Galleria. The ambiance in this new location is more modern and open, gives you less of an intimate setting. We were sat promptly and greeted promptly by our server. We were handed the Valentines day set 3 course menu, which was disappointing since I wanted a specific item from the main dinner menu. I chose the quail crepette. This was underwhelming. The quail was chopped up super fine and the it just didnt have good texture since it was also served with a puree. Couldn't taste any foie gras like the menu implies it had. My husband had the calamari which was the best hot item we received all night. The mushroom sauce it had alone could've been served with every dish and it would've elevated them. Onto the main entrees. I got the filet and substituted for the mushroom risotto since im allergic to shellfish. It was texturely great and flavorful but it was underseasoned, I hated to ask for salt which took 10minutes to receive. My risotto was already cold by the time. But it was a busy evening so I understand. They're probably not used to people asking for salt. My filet had minimal crust, though it was tender as expected. The med rare cook was done in haste because the middle was very cold to the touch. I wish I took a picture of it. At this point, I realized that Masraff's probably serves better non-steak dishes. My husband got the lamb chops, med rare. Im normally the type of enjoy the fat caps for any steak, and grilled lamb fat to me is very flavorful. My husband gave me a bit of the steak with fat on it and although it had great lamb flavor, the fat wasn't rendered at all and it was gelatinous. Seemed like they should've taken more time trimming the chops or spent more time on the grill to char it. The meat by the bones, which is normally enjoyable to gnaw on was entirely raw. The lamb, like the filet, had very little outer crust thats typical of a good cook on steak. The desserts were the best. The chocolate fondant was luxurious as well as the apple crumble. If they opened a dessert only store, I'd be a regular there. Dont get me wrong, its a great establishment and has been around awhile. It just didnt work for me this time around.
We celebrated our company gathering and we had dinner in the private room. The sea bass was killer. The calamari appetizer was the best I've ever had. It was my first time in Houston and what an experience! The owner came out to say hello and ensure everyone was happy. 5 stars service! Also Miguel our waiter was 10/10! The whole team is an asset to this establishment.
This place was incredible! Service was as good as the best fine dining places and the food was just as good. The short rib was the best I have had in years, the mushroom risotto side was rich but great and the desserts finished the evening off perfectly.
Masraff's offers great food in an ambiance that is very satisfying for special occasions or simply treating yourself to a great meal. Parking is simple but the valet is very reasonably priced. The staff will take excellent care of you from the greeting to serving every course of your meal. All are willing to ensure you receive the best they have to offer. While I've never had a bad meal at Masraff's, some dishes are just crazy good like the calamari (5 rating). Their steaks (5 rating) are of outstanding quality and perfectly cooked. My most recent dish was the Chilean Sea Bass was a little over cooked (4 rating). The restaurant is pricey but in my opinion worth the cost. I'm always looking forward to my next visit eventually trying everything on the menu.
Excellent ambiance, service, wine and drinks, menu choices...all perfectly prepared and presented. Seafood is so good highly recommend those choices. A bit pricey but the excellence was worth it. Splurge and enjoy!
I got to finally try Masraff's!! I've been wanting to try since when they were near the galleria and I'm so glad I did! We went for HRW and the food and service were amazing! There is a parking garage in the back that's not far at all if you don't want to do valet. It was quite busy for a weekday dinner so I knew it was gonna be good! Our server took his time to explain the drink and food to us, help guiding us to choose our meals. The lighting is dim to create a more relaxed atmosphere environment. Can't wait to be back!
Came here for a date with a reservation for a table of 2 and got seated right by a wall that blocked an exiting way from the table. Despite the restaurant being empty and there was plenty of other table for a party of two. But the server was super nice and friendly, he happily explained the menu and gave recommendations. We order the Garlic Seared Calamari, Garlic Honey Glazed Texas Quail, American Red Snapper and Chilean Sea bass. The calamari and quail were a 8/10 as it was nicely cooked and flavorful. As for the red snapper (5.5/10), the fish was fresh but was way too salty to enjoy. The seabass (7/10) was fresh, nicely cook, and seasoned well though it felt like something was missing. The place wasn't busy when I got there on a Tuesday though it did picked up later in the night. It was will decorated and clean.

We made last minute reservations for a Saturday night at 8:30pm. There was front row parking and we were seated right away. This is the first year that we've ordered from the Restaurant Week menu. We ordered calamari, and crab cakes for our appetizers. We also ordered a cup of clam chowder from the main menu. Tge bacon flavor was a bit overpowering and there were hardly any clams in the soup. The crab cake had generous amounts of crab and not too much filler. The calamari was good, but the texture was off. We ordered short rib risotto and pacific snapper with couscous. The short rib risotto was good. The snapper was delicious with a nice crust on the outside. The couscous was overcooked and needed salt. We ended our meal with a chocolate cake and apple pie. Both were luke warm and it seemed like they just rushed it out of the kitchen . Both could have been so much better if they were served warm/hot. Overall good place. read more

My friend and I came here for Houston Restaurant Weeks and had a very enjoyable meal. They start you off with a small basket of bread pieces--it seemed like focaccia. It was good bread. We each started with a drink and had the petit fleur--it had strawberry, vodka, and rose bitters--it was fruity, nicely sweet, and refreshing. For my three part meal, I had the crab cake, the halibut, and the chocolate fondant. The crab cake was nice. It had a fried exterior, and I can tell that it is popular for good reason. The halibut was delicious and flakey, and it was more than I could finish. The dessert was very chocolatey and had a perfectly molten interior. It paired nicely with the cold ice cream. As much as I enjoyed everything, I think my favorite part of the meal was that drink! Our server was kind enough to suggest it. And service was good overall. I appreciated the free nearby garage parking. I'd come back! read more

Discounted fine dining - thanks HRW! A bougee vibe for my fancy people! I had a nice dinner here with a gal pal. The table settings and wine displays put you in awe once you enter the dining area. Staff was friendly and dressed to the nines to serve you. During our dining experience, the Manager/Owner (his last name was Masraff) came by to check on us. This always adds a special touch to the dinner experience. My HRW food picks: Crispy Jumbo Lump Crab Cake - A wonderful start to the meal! I really enjoyed the coulis. 6oz Cab Filet Mignon - Cooked perfectly medium rare. The lobster potato souffle was yummy, and I wanted more! Coffee Creme Brulee - I like coffee, and I like creme brulee, why not have them together?? This dessert wasn't terrible, but I didn't love it. The strawberry margarita was not to die for, unfortunately. Perhaps I should have gone with a smooth glass of wine! I would definitely return here for a special occasion or event. read more

OMG incredible experience. This was my first time at Masraff's (my wife has gone countless times and always raves about it). I got the filet mignon - near perfection. The cobbler was spectacular. I also got to try the Chilean sea bass (sorry we ate it all before getting a photo). Overall the flavor and seasoning was spot on. Entrees came out hot and quite pleasant. The service was top notch as you would expect from a fine dining restaurant. And the ambiance was also quite nice and clean. I would definitely come here again and recommend everyone try it. Lastly, the owner (Mr. Masraff) came around and checked with everyone on the quality of the food and our satisfaction level with the whole experience. We of course told him all was quite well. Rock on, Masraff's! Thanks for the party in my mouth. read more

I had been anticipating a try of Masraff's, it's a interesting location in a new development and they carry the promise of fresh line caught fish. I thought the interior design was upscale and a little minimalist. Normally seafood focused restaurants can't help but throw maritime decor on the wall, wasn't the case here. Our server was extremely engaging and knowledgeable about the menu. It was evident that he'd been apart of the company for a while and had insight into exactly how they operate. Excellent service is always a good sign for me. The signature garlic seared calamari we got for the table is absolutely a dish you need to try before you leave. Started us off on a really high note! I got the catch of the day, which was a King Salmon, and was happy with the presentation and technique, skin on style was done well. The fish was overcooked and under salted for my preference, though I didn't ask for a slightly medium cook on it to be fair. I had figured that it at higher end spots like I've been to before that they cook salmon to a medium temp. Two others who joined us got the red snapper and were happy with their entire plate it seemed. We also ordered the meatloaf upon suggestion from our server, we kinda chuckled at the idea of meatloaf at a seafood restaurant, but it ended up being really nice. No wonder he said people were asking for it to come back. We had a very unfortunate dish, one at our table order a fish and chips (a pretty safe order imo) that came out truly wrong. The fish (Cod) came out so overcooked that it turned into a squeaky and tough block. My buddy didn't complain as it was seemingly such an obvious mistake that we had just hoped to get through the meal without making a scene. My hope is that this was a specific to us issue and that the rest of the nice reviews at masraffs help paint the whole picture vs our 1 time visit. read more

First time to visit... Mother's Day Event! The family was greeted by the owner and some of his family. The waiter was very attentive and the meal was outstanding. Each mother was given a rose . Nice. I plan to visit again. Nice place for a family event or date. read more

Firstly, I thought it was very nice that they opened their doors for Mother's Day and had a curated three-course menu to choose from. Pictured below: 1) Lump crab cake; it was more of puff pastry filled with lump crab and mushrooms. 2) Chilean Sea Bass with polenta and green beans. 3) Peach Cobbler crisp. All the food was delicious and great portions. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Especially the owner he made a point to come to each table and check in, but what really stuck out to me is how personable he was with his staff. You don't find that too often with owners of businesses and I love to see how hands on they can be! read more
I love how conveniently located Masraff's is! Right off the feeder of i10, it is the perfect location for a nice meal. When you pull in, there is valet. At the time of our visit, valet service was $8. The door was opened for us, which was such an amazing touch, and we were welcomed by everyone. Our waiter Barry, was so friendly!! We ordered from the HRW menu. I ordered the crab cake, filet, and coffee crème brûlée. My husband ordered the wedge salad, filet, and crème brûlée as well. The appetizers were delicious! My crab cake was AMAZING!!! If I weren't in public, I would have licked the extra sauce up. Thankfully there was bread I could dip into it. The bread and butter they brought to our table was fantastic. Our steaks arrived and my husband's was not cooked enough and mine was cooked too much. Normally, I would have just switched steaks, except my husband got an 8 oz and I a 6. Once they cooked my husband's a little bit more, everything was great. The steaks were so tender and flavorful. The side potatoes were delicious with the crab added in. Very unique and so yummy. Desserts, omg. They were huge! And very delicious. Overall a fantastic experience! I'd love to return for another meal off of their regular menu. read more
Had no idea that they moved location to i10/Spring Branch area! But, this new location is beautifully decorated and done. Located within a plaza and has its own parking garage (complimentary) towards the back of the restaurant. Made reservations ahead of time and was able to be seated immediately. Mainly came here for HRW, but also got a few extra things. Drinks - Ordered a Classic Margarita with Tajin on the rim and they did a great job on this with Reposado Tequila. For non-HRW menu apps, we got the Louisiana Roll (my friend that does not eat raw fish, really enjoyed this roll a lot. It had crawfish, avocado, creole shallots and a Prudhomme aioli). For the 1st HRW course, we got the Garlic Seared Calamari (I would not get this again, I just didn't like how soggy the calamari got and did not have any type of crisp to it and the sauce was a bit strange) and the Crispy Jumbo Lump Crab Cake (this was really good, quite large chunks of crab meat and the sauce that was paired went well with the crab cake itself). For the 2nd HRW course, we got the Main Lobster Risotto (the risotto was cooked well and good cheese sauce and good amount of lobster chunks) and the Panko Crusted Miso Butter Cod (not too fishy and the fish itself was very tender). Extra Side we ordered was the Crispy Brussel Sprouts (it was nicely cooked and had a delicious balsamic dressing that coated them). For the 3rd HRW dessert course, we both got the Coffee Creme Brulée (I wish the sugar was a bit crispier and less soggy but the coffee flavor profile was deff there). Very good service and Mr Masraff kept coming to our table to check on us to make sure everything was on par. Restrooms - Clean and has fancy napkins The indoors was nicely decorated and very upscale feeling. Shoutout to the complimentary bread service - Focaccia specifically was so good! Having not known about this place, one of my good Yelp Elite friends treated me to this amazing place, and what is there to say? Probably one of the best seafood- forward restaurants in the Memorial area, and it's in the right place for sure! The menu is straightforward that honors all palletes and might I say, all of the dishes were amazing! The presentation, the taste, the flavor, the seafood-forward goodness, all of this is amazing! If I had to brag about a dish or two, I would like to talk about the calamari and the foie gras. The calamari was tender, juicy, tasty, complemented the plate so well, and I can't look at calamari the same anywhere else I go. They have ruined it for me, but I love it! The foie gras definitely opened my eyes to see the rich fattiness of the dish. While it may be overwhelming for some, the other components of the dish make it comfortable to eat. I will say, if you are not accustomed to eat so much rich fatty foods in one sitting, this one might be the one you should choose for that choice. You won't regret it! Will I come back again? I'm sure I will, in a special occasion of course! read more

My office had an appreciation dinner here the other night and let me tell you, EVERYTHING was amazing! Not pictured is the side of Brussels sprouts. Let me tell you, I have never tasted Brussels sprouts this delicious before. The staff were professional and quick with requests. They were also helpful with recommendations and drink orders. We all tried different items and everyone loved what they had. Valet is offered if needed. The parking garage is free and really close so walking isn't an issue. A traditional upscale restaurant that I feel is a dying breed as we continue to get overpriced trendy hip places with limited real service charging people in t-shirts and jeans $50 a meal. Services was outstanding and place has a good classy vibe. The Chilean Seabass was probably one of the best seabasses I've had, the braised short rib was SUPER tender. We chose the elegant Masraff's to have my low key birthday celebration. Just off the feeder of I10 in Memorial, if you're not looking, you may miss it. Our reservation was for 5:30p, just as the beautiful open dining room started to fill up. We settled in, deciding it was whiskey kinda night, although they had a wonderful selection of wines. Claudio and his team took excellent care of us. We started with the chilled Stone Crab Claws, served with a mustard aioli. Plump and slightly sweet. Soup of the day was a savory shrimp/sausage gumbo with white rice. MrM had the Chilean Seabass, served over lobster grits with zucchini, topped with a light sauce. I had the special, Three Tail Fish, served over fingerlings and green beans, topped with a cream sauce. Both seemed pan seared to perfection, crispy outside while light, flaky inside. Delicious! For dessert, we had the Down Home Blueberry Buckle. Light airy cinnamon strudel cake, blueberry drizzle, with these amazing lil pearls of lemon curd, topped with a mild coffee gelato with a thin pastry crisp. I always make sure to reserve here for Houston Restaurant Weeks but all of their food no matter what time of the year is always great. The ambience and service are wonderful and I always feel welcome and unrushed. I always get the foie gras appetizer and the garlic seared calamari. The parmesan crusted rosemary bread they bring to the table is amazing as well. Parking is available as valet, in the garage, or right in front of the restaurant. Absolutely fantastic! If I could give them more than 5 stars I would as this place is truly one of a kind! Went for a birthday dinner celebration on a Saturday night. Our reservation for 5 was at 7 pm and we were promptly seated and our server was at the table side with waters and took drink orders within moments of us arriving. None of which felt rushed, he was attentive, polite and professional. We also got a special visit by the owner who asked how we were enjoying the food and service which made for a nice personal touch to the evening. The ambiance is very, very nice. The restaurant is clean, well lit and spacious. As far as food and drinks go, our whole table was SO impressed with the dishes! For appetizers we got the salmon tartare special which came with a delicious seaweed salad and perfectly crisped wonton chips - this was very tasty, light, and refreshing. We also shared the garlic seared calamari, I think this was the true star of the show as the seared calamari was complimented by an amazing garlic sauce that almost tasted creamy, but not too heavy. The variety of mushrooms in this dish was also impressive, they were so good and again well complimented by the delicious sauce. Would highly recommend this appetizer! For entrees, two of us got the Chilean sea bass as recommended by the waiter and this did not disappoint. Fish was fresh, perfectly seared with a crispy outer layer but the inside was buttery and flaky, just scrumptious. Came with a delicious sauce, zucchini, green apple and celery and lobster grits to accompany the dish. Phenomenal, would absolutely recommend and would get this again if I returned. Other highlights were the mushroom side dish (came with fried quail eggs!), the Alaskan wild caught salmon special with wasabi mashed potatoes, halibut and the free range bison. We all enjoyed the entrees and were impressed by the large portions. The server was so kind to provide a complimentary dessert for a birthday at the table with a candle to celebrate. Overall a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this restaurant - especially for a special occasion! read more
Had their restaurant week menu plus a few additional. Food was great. Service was good. The apps were very small. Would need two or three per item each for a table of 6. The bread was also freshly baked and tasty. The sides were good but superrrr heavy. Desserts were ok, nothing to write home about. read more

Multiple dining sections. Large bar area. Not so bad when I was there.
