Monday Night Steak Special at By Popular Demand - Memorial By Popular Demand in Memorial has a fantastic Monday night steak special -- your choice of a ribeye or filet mignon with two sides for just $20. Chrissy and James bring such warmth and joy to the evening that it truly feels like you're among friends. Chrissy was our ambassador for the meal and she's down to earth. Glass of water was set of down within minutes of sitting down. Start with the tuna bites appetizer -- a perfect lead-in to the main event. The E.H. Taylor Small Batch pairs beautifully with the steaks and rounds out the experience. This is a Mazraff's restaurant, but with a very different vibe. Instead of a formal dining room, the space feels casual and relaxed -- more like a bar or even a cozy living room. It's a great place to hang out, unwind, and enjoy good food in a laid-back setting.

I somehow missed the memo about BPD. My friend and I were looking for a place for HH and came across BPD on Yelp. It was a Monday night which meant we had the option to do their steak night. It was busy, but we were able to get a table without any difficulty. BPD has a nice lounge feel with large comfy couches and chairs. There's also a fireplace which gives it a homey feel. The clientele was actually a bit older which was fine with me. Our server Dennis was holding down the entire room. He was running around like crazy, but he was keeping up with the orders all evening. He even addressed me and my friend by name the entire night. Great memory and great service! It's the little things that go a long way. My friend had a margarita while I did That Cucumber Drink. It was so good and refreshing and I loved the tajin! I normally don't put much regard into a bar steak night, but once I read that BPD is in the same group as Masraff's, I knew the steak would be good. For $20, you get a choice of a 6 oz. filet, or 12 oz. NY strip. We had the option to get salad and creamed corn. The sides were buffet style so we were able to serve as little or as much as we wanted on our plates. I ordered the filet medium and it was so good! It was tender, juicy, and flavorful! The salad was good and I really enjoyed the creamed corn. I was expecting some sort of potatoes for the side dish so the corn was a pleasant surprise. We also did an order of the spinach dip and it was very tasty! It comes with sour cream and salsa on the side which we found to be strange, but it is served with tortilla chips. I've already told another friend about their steak night and she went last night. I'm definitely a fan and I can't wait to return!

Finally popped in this gem. BPD has an extensive liquor selection and a select menu of tasty bites. We were not disappointed with the atmosphere. Nice, quaint environment. The bartender was friendly and welcoming, her manager not so much. I am not a consumer that enjoys management correcting in front of customers, this put the vibe off on an otherwise great experience. We closed out and headed to another destination.

Great experience. Arrived at 6pm and sat down at a table in the center of the lounge. Ordered a specialty cocktail called the Southside and it was delicious. Greta ambience, the lights dimmed closer to 6:45 and the aesthetic is gorgeous. Great service, female server (although I didn't catch her name) she was THE BEST!

Grabbed a celebratory dinner and drinks with my friend here and the vibe was as perfect as it can get. Cozy seating & felt like home in a huge living room. Our waitresses were great as they made sure we had everything we needed often. Love that! Crab cakes were great! 4 stars because I got sick from my chicken sandwich :/ but it was great overall and I'll be back!

Love the remodel! It's been years ago, but I first visited this place when it was The Vine Room (or something similar in name to that). The atmosphere was quiet and cozy, but the decor was like an old lady's living room from the 50's. This "new" revamp is nice! It's still cozy, but now with a country club tennis room/library/tobacco lounge feel. It's hard to describe because it can fit lots of different types of people and preferences. From the separate seating areas to the open spaces, and the variety of seating options, this place is going to become a fast favorite of mine. Since we are having an unusually warm January, we sat outside on the covered patio. They have music on low so you can still have a good conversation without shouting. Not sure what days, but I was told they fire up the pit and serve some pretty good BBQ for dine in or take out. I will return to try the BBQ or at least some of their menu food. The service was good. We were greeted and served immediately. The bartender even brought our next round out to us on the patio. My martinis were $12.00 each, so the prices are slightly higher than other establishments, but the atmosphere and service is what you are truly paying for in this case. It's extremely convenient to my office and home, so that's another plus. The parking is a little tight depending on the time of day you arrive. It is located right next door to a 5-star cat hospital, so many people in the parking spots are in and out quickly. You won't wait long for a spot and you might even be fortunate enough to get one of the spots that's literally less than 10 steps from the entrance. I am a fan of easy parking! All in all, I am very pleased with my revisit to this revamp. Recommend and will return!

Come for Steak Night on Mondays, come for the strong drinks (especially for the wide whiskey selection), come for the great customer service, come for the laid back, grown, cool ambience - just come! It is definitely a hidden gem in a wonderful neighborhood bar. I arrived on a Monday to try their Steak Night. They offer a filet mignon or a ribeye with two sides (risotto with mushroom and veggies) for $20. Though delicious, it was on the saltier side for me. I also ordered their burger and it was 3.5/5 and I would order again, but would ask to reduce the salt. The music selection as well as volume that night was perfect as our group was able to converse with each other. The vibe is unpretentious, the service is regardful and well-mannered, and I can't wait to come back with more friends to enjoy more nights here.

Is there happy hour? If so, what are the specials? Thanks

    Do they have live music?

Not very often, but they do every once in a while. Not on any specific schedule.

I visited for a 2nd dinner and found very few items to choose from on their menu, mostly sandwiches to my surprise. I tried both the burger and the flank steak sandwich and a tiki cocktail. Second, the service was awful. Tiki cocktail - they indicated they were out of one of the ingredients to make this drink. So I asked if they could just substitute that ingredient for cranberry juice, and they said yes. It turned out to be a decent drink even after the substitute was used. Good thing I didn't want a 2nd drink because our terrible waitress, who was apparently doubling as the bartender, never bothered to ask me. Steak sandwich - made with flank steak, sloppily put together by the kitchen staff. It look like it fell off the plate then they pieced it back together, but never made it nice again before serving. The taste was decent and meat was tender, just too much bread in this dish. Both dishes come with hand-cut fries. They were average at best. I've had better hand-cut fries though. Burger- looked and tasted good, the double patties are paper thin. You don't get much meat at all on this. I did like the taste of the patty though. As I indicated service was just bad. It took forever anytime we needed anything. I never received a refill on my water either. Even though I was sitting in a booth right next to the bar, the waitress never came over to our table to check on me. The place was sort of dead when I arrived also. Not sure if they are about to close down or what, you would think more customers would be here, but it is back and away from the main street of City Center and hard to find in the first place.

The indoor bar area is massive, and the patio is just as big, making it great for large groups or events. It definitely has that laid-back, social vibe, and it's also dog-friendly, which is a nice touch. Customer service was good, and the drink prices were reasonable, especially for a place of this size and popularity. It did get pretty crowded, which adds to the energy if you're going for that kind of atmosphere. There isn't a full kitchen, but there was a food truck on-site (I believe it was Hearsay). I was greeted at the entrance by friendly staff and was asked if I preferred to sit closer to the entrance or towards the back. I chose the seats deeper into the restaurant because it was a humid day and I wanted to keep my distance from the front door. We were promptly seated and here handed the menus. The menus must have been hot off the press because they were in very good condition. We proceeded to order two entrees (date night with the wife) and the food came out rather quickly. The flat rice noodle (pad si-ew) with beef is one of my go to dishes at any Thai restaurant. The one here was very good! It came out hot, presentation was nice, and the portions of beef were very generous. We also ordered the tofu yellow curry and it was delicious. The tofu was fried very well - so well that it kept up its crunch despite being soaked in the yellow curry. We got spice level 2 of 4 and it was perfect. The waiter called it "mild" but I would say closer to medium. Maybe mild for Thai food. Anyhow, no regrets and we devoured the yellow curry which also came with a side of rice. By the end of dining experience we were so full that we unfortunately did not have room for dessert. All in all, a great experience and we will be back for sure. Given that it's Uptown which generally means pricier food options, I thought the dishes were all fairly priced.
