Songkran Thai Kitchen . If you're craving elevated Thai food with bold flavors and beautiful presentation, Songkran Thai Kitchen in Uptown Park is such a solid pick! . We tried a mix of their soups, noodles, rice dishes, and mains -- everything was super flavorful, aromatic, and clearly made with care. The sides and sauces really stood out and tied each dish together so well ‍ . It's definitely on the pricier side, but you can taste the quality in every bite. Perfect for a nice dinner out, date night, or when you want Thai food that feels a little more upscale . #HoustonEats #HTXFoodie #ThaiFoodHouston #UptownPark #HoustonFoodies

Went to Songkran Kitchen for lunch around noon with a group of seven. Parking was a bit of a challenge and we had to park farther away, but we made it work. We sat outside and the service was great because our waitress was super attentive and friendly throughout. We shared the heavenly beef as an appetizer, and all of our lunch specials came with salad and soup, which was a nice touch. I ordered the basil Thai fried rice. While the flavors weren't as bold as I expected, I asked for the highest spice level and they definitely delivered on the heat. Overall, a solid lunch spot and I'd come back to try other dishes on the menu.

Songkran is a casual Thai restaurant in Uptown Park. My friend and I visited together after I heard many of her rave reviews. The dining space is intimate and comfortable with dim lighting and decorate murals. They have a great happy hour menu with well priced appetizers and cocktails, but we stuck to entrees. The dining room wasn't too crowded on a weeknight, so our food arrived quickly. I tried the pad see ew with chicken, and it was delicious. The flavors were bright and the veggies were fresh. Overall, I thought it was a great dish and would visit again if wanting Thai food in the Uptown area.

This place has pretty good Thai food. I got the drunken noodles and they were pretty flavorful. The salad and soup as a complementary were not as a good as other Thai places I've had - the sauce was just different. However, we didn't mind since the food we ordered were pretty good. The service was pretty fast, we got our food a few minutes after we ordered. Luckily we went on a weekday during lunch so it wasn't too crowded. The vibe is pretty nice as well. The dinner prices look pretty pricey so I recommend going there for lunch for their lunch menu!!

It was our first time at Songkran and it did not disappoint. You might not agree with this, but I have a whole thing where I judge a Thai restaurant based on their Thai tea. The second it hit the table, I could already tell it was going to be good. The color was perfect, and the flavor was even better. We ordered the beef satay to start, then got the drunken noodles with chicken and the yellow curry. Everything was super flavorful and cooked just right. We sat outside, and the service, the vibe, and the food all came together perfectly. I'll definitely be back!

The food is overall good. If you get the FRIED SNAPPER I highly recommend ordering it with no sauce, sauce on the side only. That way the fish is nice and crispy, and not soggy and sweet with sauce haha.

If you are going to wander into to a place just looking for a great drink, this is the place. We had about an hour before another event and had walked by several times so we decided to try it. Glad we did. Creative drink menu, happy hour and perfect snacks made us wish we had more time. Our bartender had all the things, personable, great conversationalist, and an excellent drink maker. I highly recommend his Butterfly Blush. Decor certainly made you feel the Thai vibes. We tried the pork dumplings and fried tofu with sweet chili sauce at the bar. Needless to say we now have to come back and try more of the menu.

Ambiance is killer here. Staff pleasant. And Food is pretty good. The soft shell crab came out cool (not warm) however but was fine taste wise. The pad Thai was good. It's one of the Cheapest dish in Thailand. But kinda Expensive here. but hey it's upscale Thai and atmosphere. Got air conditioning even unlike Thailand. Not sure I'd call it authentic Thai. But I was just in Thailand, actually for Songkran, so I'm kinda biased. They got a kids menu too which was nice to see. And best part is kids eat free from 12-3 pm on Saturday and Sunday!

Hard to put my words down after I enjoyed a happy-hour meal at Songkran Thai Kitchen. That was a nice improvement from a couple of years ago. I came right at the happy hour and asked to be seated on the patio. There were lots of people in the dining room on that day. Not sure if someone was hosting a party or something. I certainly don't want to mingle with them. The waitress brought me menu and showed me where the happy hour appetizers were but she left out "certain items". So, my selection Baked Curry Potato Puff was not one of them half-off items. Bummer. But okay. It wasn't so puffy after my first bite. The salsa came with it was good. The entrée was Clay Pot Red Curry Crispy Duck "Kang Phet Ped Yang", phew such a long name. The duck was seasoned well and it was crispy when not soaking in broth. There are so many meat pieces in this bowl. It was well-worth a try with the red curry. My drink was just hot water and it came with a wedge of lemon. That was so delightful. Overall, I had a great experience while I earned my airline reward miles.

What a beautiful restaurant! The art decor was amazing. Even their patio decor was lovely - Where we sat The service was excellent, our waitress was always available if needed. We ordered a fish dish, green curry and the short ribs with a side of eggplants ... I was amazed at the flavors of the dishes we ordered. Drinks were reasonably priced ! Def a play to revisit

Great food, decent portions. We got the bam bam shrimp and 2 orders of the chicken satay for appetizers. Main dishes were the Panang shrimp curry, Wagyu Braised Short Rib, Drunken Noodles and Chili Stir Fry Chicken. The Bam Bam Shrimp, Chili Stir Fry Chicken and Drunken Noodles were a huge hit - must try! I was underwhelmed with the Wagyu Braised Short Rib, felt like it needed more flavor.

Hello! What kind of oil does the kitchen use to cook? Thank you in advance!

Not sure but whatever it is, it's amazing!

Read in some older reviews that there was a separate vegetarian menu, do they still have a separate vegetarian menu?

I didn't notice it when I visited yesterday. The menu weighs like a brick. Maybe you can call them and ask.

Does this place have the best Thai food in Houston?

It has a great, reasonably priced lunch menu; but, I wouldn't say it has the best (authentic) Thai food.

The seating was uncomfortable (especially the cramped two-person bench), and while the service was passable, no effort was made to address our concerns. Instead of welcoming constructive feedback, the manager responded with condescension, dismissing our comments by saying the "experience" wasn't for everyone--implying we lacked taste rather than acknowledging the clear missteps. Giorgio's is one of two restaurants located in the beautiful Hotel Granduca across from Uptown Park. This is a very nice and upscale property with both valet and self parking available. When I made the reservation I initially chose inside dining but after arriving we decided to take advantage of their offer to sit outside to take advantage of their lovely patio by the pool and the very pleasant outdoor temperature that evening after a nice rain. We were seated near the door where the pianist was playing nice music inside that allowed us to enjoy it. Giorgio's HRW 3 course dinner this year was $39 and I ordered the Burrata Panzanella Salad as my first course followed by Cavatelli Bolognese for the second finishing with the Flourless Chocolate Cake for the third. While waiting we were brought some bread along with trays of peanuts, potato chips and popcorn which was a little unusual but no one complained about free food. I must say that all of my 3 courses were excellent tasting. The Burrata salad had a large serving of the above named cheese with fresh tomatoes, olives and ciabatta bread that was cool in temperature and I could have eaten another serving because it was so good. The pasta bolognese was equally delicious except warm in temperature with the Akaushi beef making a delicious bolognese sauce over the cavatelli. Finally the cake was fresh and full of chocolate flavor with berries and Nutella alongside a scoop of rich vanilla ice cream. This was a perfect finish for what was a fine meal. The outdoor setting was also perfect and one that I wouldn't hesitate to repeat. So why do I only give 4 stars? For some reason not understood by anyone in our party was the fact that this entire experience took us 3 hours from being seated to paying the checks for our 3 course dinners. They didn't appear to be too busy that night so I'm not sure why it took so long. Our group did enjoy our time together and filled it with good conversation but still this dinner should have taken at least 1 hour less. Talking about a slow relaxed pace for dinner....this was a little too slow. I would still be happy to return.
