Lovely sushi experience! The interior is dark lit yet pop of color lit ceiling. The vibe is fun and fancy. Attire is business casual. The pricing is reasonable and worth it. They have great mocktails. The service great and attentive. I enjoyed their sushi and appetizers. I was surprised to see Pad Thai on the menu and had to try it, it was so good!
I went to Ten Sushi + Cocktail Bar with a group of friends for happy hour on a Thursday night, and we had a great experience. It was pretty empty when we got there, so we were seated right away. Even though happy hour is technically bar-only, they were kind enough to let us order from the happy hour menu at our table, which we really appreciated. We started with the cucumber salad, which was delicious and definitely a favorite. The hamachi crudo was also really good -- super fresh and flavorful. We also had the rock shrimp tempura, which had a great flavor as well. For entrées, we ordered a few hand rolls -- I had the yellowtail, and it was delicious. We also shared the honey walnut shrimp with white rice, and that was a standout. I'd definitely come back just for that. Overall, we had a really great experience and would absolutely come back.
Great meal! I recommend going in for happy hour for great deals and great service. Good ambiance, fun menu, and tasty treats. Sitting at the bar brings a great experience with a bartender who wants you to have a great meal! Best, Bob B.
I am so happy Lisa R & I came to Ten Sushi! The entire experience was over the top! Upon entering we were greeted and seated right away. The beautiful cherry blossoms added to the gorgeous layout! Our staff person was excellent and made the evening relaxing and enjoyable. We were so excited about the menu we over-ordered. We started with Sea Salt Edamame, followed by Japanese Nachos (my personal favorite!) We shared the DG Roll, the Hamachi Mango, and each got several pieces of both Yellow Tail and Salmon Belly Nigiri. Our many leftovers were nicely boxed up for us along with several sets of chopsticks and soy sauce packets. I cannot wait to return to explore my way through their menu to delight my "foodie" palate!
Came in for a birthday dinner and everything was great. The starters were the stars of the show. We got the japanese nachos, crispy rice sushi, rock shrimp tempura, and shishito peppers. The shishito peppers were so refreshing and were definitely one of my favorites. The shrimp tempura was also delicious with a nice light crunch to them. The crispy rice sushi was a second favorite and I loved the chewiness of the rice. As for entree I got the BG roll, which was very refreshing as well, however some of the individual pieces had lots of wasabi in it which I was not expecting. The place itself is pretty dim lit which provides a nice, cozy ambience, and service was really great. Overall a wonderful experience.
LOVE LOVE LOVE I don't even know where to start! This gorgeous restaurant is located in Westheimer Rd, it is like a hidden place because if you drive by you may not see it! It's like New York vibe, hidden, but so chic, it's the type of place that "If you know, you know " Everything here is delicious, and their servers are very knowledgeable, so if it's your first time, don't be afraid to ask for recommendations. It's so beautiful decorated and they offer cocktails and bottles of wine. Come with your girlfriends or for a date or sit at the bar and enjoy their sushi. Reservations recommended.
Came here for happy hour with a friend and I was impressed. On a Thursday afternoon they were pretty slow but the ambiance and decor was sooooo cute. And the food was quality! We ordered some fried rice, the honey potstickers (favorite!), chili garlic edamame (other favorite!) , and two timing sushi roll (sooo filling). The rolls were on the pricier side (not on the HH menu) but they came in a large portion and were actually super filling. I also got a white wine from the HH menu as well. Would definitely want to come back and try some menu items not on the happy hour menu!!
Vibey and trendy sushi with other popular Asian fusion. Great for a date night, girls night out or a mixed crowd. The decor is bold, striking and fun from the cherry blossom trees behind the bar to the abstract mural on the ceiling. It can be a cool backdrop or a topic of conversation. The service generally was decent. The bartender was more engaging and friendly even when we were at our table. He brought our drinks and continued conversation. The food is decent, but somewhat all over the place. This is a good place for the uninitiated as there are a variety of options for those that "don't like/eat sushi". There are more known Americanized Asian fusion options like Kung Pao Shrimp and Shaken Beef. The food took a while coming out so it was a slower paced meal. The rolls were decent sized. The stand out was the melting chocolate cake. Moist cake with decadent chocolate inside and poured on top. It's paired with a large scoop of ice cream and fresh fruits. It's large enough to share. Parking was not intuitive. There were spots in the back of the building that are probably free. Some of us parked across the street, but that's probably not the designated parking either.

The service was very friendly and attentive. The sushi was fresh and satisfying. The Japanese nachos and crispy rice cakes were both great appetizers. The Kung Pao shrimp had a nice tangy kick and was cooked well, while the shaken beef, though flavorful, didn't quite hit the mark in terms of authenticity. The hamachi crudo was decent, but didn't leave a lasting impression. Dessert, however, absolutely stole the show. The melting chocolate cake was warm, gooey, and indulgent. It was as basically a chocolate lava cake. Paired with ice cream and fresh fruit, it was the perfect ending to the meal.
Great drinks and the shrimp stir fry was bomb! A little spicy. so a heads up for those who can't handle the heat. However, if you do love a good kick, this is the meal for you. I sat at the bar and it was a nice ambience. People kept themselves, but the service went well. It was on the darker dimmer vibe, which isn't quite my thing, however it suited well with the scheme of the decor.
I've been to ten sushi with my girlfriends so many times and I can't believe I haven't reviewed this spot. This is our go to spot for our girl get togethers. First, the ambience is very romantic and sexy. Service is always fast and attentive. Now let's talk about the food. Everything I've tried at ten sushi has been amazing. My favorites have been the chili garlic edamame and the shaken beef filet. I've tried so many of their sushi rolls and they have all been delicious. A major plus is that they also have vegan rolls which is very rare for sushi establishments. Highly recommend!
To me, Ten Sushi is a nice, swanky sushi restaurant. The outside signage is in gold but it really still looks lowkey from the outside to me, which I like. Walking in you are greeted with the chill, low light vibe. There are cherry blossom trees matched with a fuchsia lighting ambiance in areas. From a service stance, I would say that we were provided very solid customer service. I initially tried to open the back door but was waved in towards the other door. When we got in the guy told me that the other door actually does open it's just heavy, which hurt my feelings a lil bit. Getting in and ordering we got the rock shrimp tempura and sea salt edamame for our starters. This was both of our first time having edamame. Quick funny story: I went to the bathroom and the starters made it to the table while I was gone. I come back to find my date has already been eating the edamame so I try some. She eating the whole thing outside and all so I'm like I guess that's how you supposed to do it but my mouth literally told me "ain't no way in the world I'm swallowing this outside husk" after multiple attempts. I eventually looked it up find out you are not supposed to eat it as I thought, which really has me wondering still how TF did she eat that. She also had filled the bowl for discarding the husks with soy sauce, which I also was wondering why they served up this big ass bowl of soy sauce. Upon figuring out how to eat the edamame they were cool though. The rock shrimp were pretty tasty as expected. For the entrees there was a lot of us going back and forth to the side on what to go with. I ended up asking our waiter about the General Ten's Chicken and he pretty much told us that it and the Orange Chicken were very similar but he preferred the Orange Chicken. Given that they put a spin on the name for General Tso's chicken I wanted to give it a chance to see if it was different, but honestly for me it was too sweet and honestly it tasted like orange chicken too much to me. For our sushi options we had the Yellowtail Nigiri and the Spicy Domo Roll. The Yellowtail was cool and the Domo Roll was pretty delicious. This was my date's first time having raw sushi so thankfully she enjoyed both items. I'm not usually one to go for a dessert but since it was my birthday, they had their Mochi Ice Cream for the birthday dessert. I opted for the Strawberry flavor. The serving was relatively small but it was pretty good. Our waiter was helpful and gave his opinion on dish options. I always appreciate someone recommending against something because unless they're trying to get me to buy something more expensive, I know they're giving an honest opinion. Overall the meal to me was cool. I honestly lean more towards a 3.5 rating but since the service was good I'll go up to 4 instead of down to 3.
Came here on a Friday night for a cute little date night! Definitely make a reservation because it was packed inside and even at the bar. The dumplings were probably my favorite thing, steamed to perfection and not soggy because I seem to have that problem and some places. The lychee martini was made to perfection. Everything we tried was pretty good and I would definitely come back here.

Ten Sushi is one of my favorite sushi restaurants perfect for happy hour, date night, or even a solo date! The decor and ambiance is stunning. If you sit at the bar look up at the ceiling it transports you! Service was great from the moment I walked in, seated immediately by the smiling hostess. The bartender was nice and I could tell he knew the menu. You have to try the Lychee Martini! I had the golden dragon roll, it's an off menu item now but is topped with baked salmon. It's my favorite menu item! Also had the BG roll very refreshing! For dessert try their award winning Ube Cheesecake! read more

I went to try Houston Restaurant Week during a slow Thursday night and it was a mix experience for sure. I loved my Tuna Ceviche - it was fresh with a good bite of jalapeño. My partner had the Chicken Lettuce Wraps and it felt a bit lacking. For the second course I had the Onaga Shiso Roll - while it did have an extremely thin cut of red snapper it was still very good mainly because I was able to apple spicy mayo - eel sauce and wasabi. I don't think it could stand on its own but it was still good non the less. My partners Miso Glazed Steak came out a bit cold but the portion was very generous. And for dessert the Ube Cheesecake was a nice highlight and a contrast to the Tempura Fried Ice Cream as it seemed to also be sitting out for awhile , we cracked it as soon as it was brought and it bled out on the table. I saw my cocktail waiting on the counter for awhile and I only got it after my appetizers arrived. Not sure why the bartender wasn't able to bring it over if the server was busy as he just left the bar area entirely. I think the decoration is beautiful but the flow and restraunts identity still needs to be discovered. read more

From a quick driving pass by, Ten Sushi blends in to the traditional office building it's housed. Luckily the carpet does not match the drapes. The entire restaurant is brushed with cherry blossom artwork and black accents highlighted in dim blue and purple lights. Paired with the heavy base music and general noise level, if you removed the seats, Club vibes. Luckily, the dress code leaned more dinner and less club ranging from jeans and tees to night out dresses with a few business casual and date night outfits sprinkled in. After firmly seated in a booth snug to the neighboring table, we filled the table with the following: steak fried rice, shishito peppers, and a nigiri flight of otoro, salmon and a white fish. Unfortunately, there's some room for improvement with the food. For example, the shishito peppers did not come blistered, they felt undercooked and arrived with all of the salt on top. The otoro was quality but sliced in a way that led to a chewy end. Our waiter was nice, and accommodating but my opinion was additional swayed by the fact that I could not comfortably have a conversation with my husband... but I could certainly hear every word of the couple near us. It's definitely possible we experienced the wrong table on an off night and this place would knock someone else's socks off. While it's not for me, only way to know if it's for you is to give them a try. read more

We were in the mood for sushi and spontaneously decided to come here! The vibes were as expected--dim light, fun vibes and eclectic decorations. We enjoyed it all. For drinks we got the lynchee martini and I was not disappointed! The food was as expected-fresh, yummy!!, and quick. We left full and happy! Highly recommend the black widow! read more

I ordered the carrot ginger soup and Walnut Chicken off of door dash. I really loved the soup. It was sweet because of the carrot and also savory/spiced with the ginger. Such a great flavor combination! It was different The walnut shrimp was Very very sweet. Too sweet IMO. The shrimp also had a lot of breading. read more

My friends and I decided to check this place out during restaurant week, and overall, the experience was decent but fell short of being memorable. The ambiance was definitely on the darker side, with low lighting setting the mood--stylish for some, but it did make it a bit harder to really take in the dishes when they arrived. I started with the tuna ceviche, which was fresh, bright, and beautifully garnished. It had a nice balance of flavor, and I appreciated that it didn't feel too heavy as a starter. For my main, I ordered the bistro filet. Unfortunately, the server never asked how I would like my steak cooked, and it arrived rare. I typically prefer something closer to medium, but instead of sending it back, I just tried to eat it as is. Dessert was the highlight. I went with the ube miso cheesecake, which had a creamy, luscious texture and a fun presentation. The flavor leaned a little too much toward sweetness for me, as I was hoping for a stronger ube taste rather than just sugar. The garnish was a lovely touch, but the excess cookie crumbs scattered on the plate took away from the elegance of the dish and made it feel a bit messy. Still, this was easily the standout course of the evening. Service overall was polite but not particularly attentive. Small details--like asking about steak preference--made a difference in shaping the night. With a few improvements in execution and more attention to detail, this restaurant could easily elevate its experience. All in all, I'd rate it a 6/10. It wasn't terrible by any means, but it wasn't something that left a strong impression either. For restaurant week, it was worth the try, but I'm not sure it's a place I'd rush back to anytime soon. read more

Good service and vibes all around! From the moment you walk in you see cherry blossoms and pink accents make you feel like you escaped to Japan. We ordered a stunning and delicious lychee martini to start. For food we started with the Crispy Rice appetizer (highly rec) and ordered several rolls: Black Dragon (fave), Dai Ichi, and Black & Yellow (topped with peppers and probably our least favorite). We also ordered the Negi Toro and Wagyu hand rolls, and ended with Hamachi Mango, all were pretty good. While this spot is a bit pricy and sushi wasn't my all-time favorite, I'd still come back for the great atmosphere! read more

Ten's decor is absolutely beautiful. Perfect for a ladies night out or birthday dinner. I loved the music they were playing. We came in on a Friday night and they were playing really good house music. For my cocktail, I got a Kyto mule, it was really good. My friends got the lychee cocktail which was also really good. The main star of the show were the appetizers. We started off with chili garlic edamame, and the VC rock shrimp tempura. Some of the best chili garlic, edamame I have ever had. The shrimp tempura was cooked perfectly. The batter wasn't too much and the flavor was delicious. The spicy aïoli sauce wasn't too spicy. Another great hit was the honey walnut shrimp. The plate came with mangoes, even though out of season were ripe and tasty just like the tempura shrimp the honey walnut shrimp was cooked perfectly, and their sauce was delicious and creamy. The only reason I'm giving this place four stars instead of five is because me and my friends were not a great fan of the sushi. I got the black widow roll, which is a soft shell Crab roll. The roll itself wasn't bad, but different than what I'm accustomed to. Maybe it was the purple rice they used? I think the texture of the rice was a bit too grainy for my liking. 10/10 for presentation though. I also got to try the two timing tuna, which is a spicy tuna roll with asparagus. We were also not a fan of this. Not that the sushi roll was bad itself. The flavors were just not for us. It gave off a kind of smoky taste that threw us off. We asked the waitress what it could be which she explained that the albacore is seared. This was not explained on the menu. I would definitely come back to give the other sushis try, but I would definitely be back for the cocktails and appetizers. I think this is the perfect place to have drinks, chitchat and snack on apps. We really enjoyed the music they were playing and the ambience. read more

10 out of 10!!!! This was our first time trying Ten Sushi and we do not regret it. First we were greeted by the amazing manager Alexandria (l believe that was her name)! She was kind and welcoming. Then our server/bartender was the best service we've had in a while! She made us a French 75 and Side Car which we definitely felt!! Delicious and strong for sure! Then the vibes were amazing. The music gave it a cozy/romantic vibe which was perfect for our Sunday evening date night. Now the food? I have to come back for more. Our favorites were the Shaken Beef with garlic noodles and the Firecracker Wontons. Definitely bursting with flavors that made it hard to focus on anything else. I had so much fun at ten sushi! Not only was the sushi tasty but the drinks and apps were to die for. I especially loved the drink I got which was the Yuki Mori. Everything came out at a great pace and the waitress was kind and attentive. The vibe here is chic but not unwelcoming. I'd come back! This is my Second ladies night here and it was awesome. Ambiance 10/10: Came for girls night out, the lychee martinis weee divine! They have a rose one and a regular one. The rose one is a bit sweeter. Shrimp tempura was out of this world as an app, the portion was huge! They participated in restaurant week. Food and drinks came out in a timely manner. Will always be back! read more
Oh this place is a vibe, and if you wait too late you won't get a table! My friend and I met up here around 7 and sat at the bar on. Wednesday. By 8, most of the bar and tables were filled. ON A WEDNESDAY. Inside: very floral, Japanese cherry blossoms, open kitchen. Tried the chicken potstickers - this wasn't for me. The golden dragon was so good tho! And so filling! I will be ordering this every time I go in there. I also ordered a mocktail. I can't remember the name but it was so delicious! This place is giving sexy vibes and perfect date night sushi spot. Found this place because I've sampled their food at a few events and had to check them out. Appetizers - VC rock shrimp tempura is a must, perfect crunch and flavorful. It has a creamy garlicky, not too spicy, flavor to them. Shishito peppers and edamame - it's hard to mess those up. Peppers were perfectly roasted and charred. We ordered 3 rolls, all were fresh and delicious. The lychee rose cocktail was a sweet floral lychee concoction, delicious. To kick off the New Year and reconnect with an old friend, I was thrilled about my 5 PM dinner reservations at Ten Sushi--a spot that had come highly recommended twice in the past week! Parking was a pleasant surprise, with plenty of nearby street options. When we first arrived, the restaurant wasn't open yet due to the holiday. But no worries--we came back around 5:30 PM and were warmly greeted by PJ. Chelsea, our waitress, was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, though she let us know that Happy Hour specials weren't available that evening (again, due to the holiday). She patiently navigated my strategic dinner selections as I opted for items outside the Happy Hour menu, and here's what I eventually decided: * Drink: The Hena-jillo, a holiday Hennessy and banana liqueur cocktail, came presented with a smoking cover--such a showstopper! It was absolutely delicious, like a spiked latte: sweet, buzzy, and beautifully balanced with cognac. * Appetizer: Rock Shrimp Tempura, which was savory and packed with flavor. * Entree: The Black Dragon Roll. I'm no sushi expert and still figuring out my preferences, but this roll was a winner! The combination of spicy tuna, crab mix, fresh albacore tuna, black rice, and crispy onions was spot-on, and the portion size was super generous. I'd worried about portions given the location, but Ten Sushi did not disappoint--they're far from stingy! If you're looking for a spot with a no-skips contemporary R&B playlist played at the perfect volume (you can still hear your table mates!), a warm and welcoming vibe, and a staff that genuinely treats you like a valued guest, Ten Sushi is the place. In the words of Beyonce, 10/10/10 across the board! To top it off, Chelsea sweetly took the cutest photos of my friend and me at the end of the night. Even considering the holiday growing crowd, we never felt rushed to wrap up our reunion dinner. Before leaving PJ came by our table to personally apologize for the slightly delayed opening time--honestly, a blessing in disguise since it gave us a chance to check out Boss Cat, their sister restaurant (we didn't know that beforehand!) for a quick 10/10 experience before dinner. He even surprised us with dessert: the coffee panna cotta. OMG. A perfect ending! Juan, the staff member who'd taken our reservations over the phone, also stopped by during dinner service to check on us. His thoughtfulness, like bringing me a takeaway menu with the holiday cocktails for me to recreate at home, is a prime example of the outstanding hospitality here. This experience might have spoiled me--it was the perfect way to kick off 2025! I'm already counting down the days until I can return to try more of the menu! read more
