Came for Happy Hour with some friends-it was 4 of us. Their HH consist of certain items all for $7. The options to me were good value as I ordered several things of the menu plus paid full price for the maki sushi. The only thing I didn't like is that you must sit at the bar for the HH. Doesn't work if you have a group of 3-4. But luckily staff was accommodating and allowed us to sit at the booth near the bar. 2 hours free garage parking then $15 afterwards. I'll be back-my bill was $73 and that included the automatic gratuity. I had a lot of food lol. read more

I opted to order the 3 course meal for $65 which included an appetizer l, main course and dessert. I made the poor decision to order the sea bass and no. It was actually disgusting. It came covered in a miso sauce but it was not good. It tasted very fishy too. Now I had ordered the crispy thai shrimp as my appetizer those were good. For dessert I ordered the chocolate peanut butter something. I don't remember what it was called...first it was tiny, secondly it was tiny as hell and very mediocre. In my 8 months of living in Texas, specifically Houston, this has become my favorite restaurant. From the decor to the food, drinks, and service, everything is on point. Would give 5 stars if the prices were just a little cheaper I was honestly very impressed by the food. I don't think a single thing I tasted was bad. For the holiday prix fixe menu I opted for the hamachi, the seabass, and the ube cheesecake. The second course options are solely protein so our server asked us if we wanted any sides so we opted for the wagyu fried rice. We also got the murukami roll and shishito peppers to share. Literally everything was super yummy. The ube cheesecake also came with a scoop of ice cream on the side which I felt made the dessert amazing I also tried a couple different cocktails, both of which were also very good. Wish they had more vegan options (entrees) because it's a really cute place. Japanese inspired restaurant infused with some techno nightclub vibes. It's an intimate space but stays packed. There's a bar area as well as table seating. Lots of neon lighting around. The bartender took great care of me. Korean short rib taco - 10/10.. it was flavorful and the spicy sauce was magnificently done. I highly recommend getting this. The magpie - 10/10...beautifully blended. I loved every sip of it. It wasn't too Smokey, wasn't too fruity, it was just right Ronin Roll 9/10- it was absolutely it delicious. The only downfall was that it kept falling apart at the bottom. Had a reservation for 4ppl. The restaurant called me twice the day of to verify that we would be attending. One of the guest couldn't attend last minute so I let them know it may be 3 instead of 4 ppl. They were adamant about the 15mins grace period and how the table would be given away if we were not there before that time. All guest were present by 8:03 less than 5mins. I communicated that twice and we literally stood directly across from the hostess stand. After an additional 15 mins one of the hosts asked if we were all here. Seriously?! as she looked the other two ladies directly in the eyes. She then became very snarky saying we could sit at a table that is too small or wait for another table having desert. Not only did she have a tone but also rolling her eyes. I'm not sure if she was having a bad day but leave it at the door honey. We had dinner here for the first time mid-week. We dined, party of 4 on Houston Restaurant Week menu. We were greeted right away. The decor of bright neon light and wall projections kept me distracted. Not to mention the huge cocktail menu that I could spend some time studying. I opted for a mocktail, the lychee champagne. I came here this past Friday with a group of girlfriends for HRW, and we had such a fun and delicious experience at Haii Keii. The vibe is bold and playful with its glowing red tables and stylish presentation, definitely a place that makes dining feel like an event. For my first course, I ordered the Thai Chile Shrimp, which was perfectly crispy with just the right amount of heat and tang. For my 2nd I got the Saikyo Miso Chilean Sea Bass, and honestly, this was the star of the night. The fish was buttery, flaky, and melt-in-your-mouth tender, sitting in a silky sauce that had both richness and balance. For dessert, I went with the Ube Cheesecake. It was light but still creamy, not overly sweet, and paired beautifully with the ice cream. A perfect way to end the meal. Made Resy ahead of time! Jacie was our waitress and she was pretty knowledgeable on the menu and made great suggestions for both drinks and food. I thought they had very pretty drinks and very unique Asian flavored ones. I ended up with the Shaketon which was their take on a margarita. I was able to replace the blanco tequila with reposado instead. It was more on the lighter side of alcohol. We were able to still experience their "HRW" menu which included 3 courses. I started off with the Truffle Hamachi (not over powering and the Hamachi was pretty fresh). For my main, I got the 6 oz Rosewood Premier Texas Waygu NY Strip (tender and seasoned nicely). And ended the dessert with their Ube Cheesecake (which was nice and light, not super pungent ube flavor, overall good and came with some vanilla ice cream). My friend also opted for the 3 course menu in which she chose the Thai Chile Shrimp (crunchy and saucy), the Murakimi Roll (King Krab x A5 Waygu x Caviar x Gold Flakes, talk about a bougie roll. It came with this butter sauce which you would take each piece and dip it in and it was tasty). And for dessert, is she got the Chocolate Bombe Almond Toffee (a bit too rich for my palette). For extra food, we also got some nigiri pieces (Sake-Toro, Chutoro, Engawa and Hirame). Favorite deff was the Chutoro and Sake-Toro, melted in your mouth. Rice was a little mushy though. We also got the Broccolini as a side dish and it had a nice soy garlic flavor to it. This restaurant is deff "Picture-Esque" as I called it. Lots of instagram worth pics/videos. Restrooms - Individual Stalls, overall clean and had fancy napkins. Parking - ***URGENTTTT*** YOU MUST VALIDATE YOUR PARKING IN THE GARAGE within 20 min of arriving! SCAN SCAN SCAN the QR code in the garage next to the elevators and it'lll be about $6.95. Apparently they recognize your license plate and that's how they validate your parking. I went to Haii Keii on a Sunday night for Houston Restaurant Weeks and it was packed. The restaurant has a dress code listed on their website as "dress to impress." From reviews, I thought they were pretty strict, but when I arrived there were people waiting at the host stand in t-shirts and sweats, so it doesn't seem to be heavily enforced. Once inside, the space is large, stylish, and very vibey. We were seated upstairs and got to enjoy a great view of the lively atmosphere. For HRW, I ordered the truffle hamachi, the filet mignon, and cheesecake. Just a heads-up--the HRW steak doesn't include sides, so I added broccolini and potatoes. The broccolini ended up being my favorite thing I ate! My friend had the Thai chili shrimp, which were amazing, and I also tried a bite of their sea bass--it was tasty and cooked perfectly. My partner ordered the Hamachi Roll with king crab, A5 wagyu, Kaluga caviar, and gold flakes. The sushi chef personally brought it out and lit it at the table, which made it feel extra special. It was also our friend's birthday, and they put a moving "Happy Birthday" banner across the restaurant, which was such a unique and fun touch. Since it was so busy, the bar and kitchen were a little slow, and food took a while to come out. That said, our server was very attentive and made sure we were taken care of. My friend and I tried this restaurant for Houston Restaurant Week. We saw reviews on TikTok and decided to try it. This place is located a few doors down from Pinstripes, but on the corner. There is garage parking, you can valet or pay to park. Haii Keii validates parking within 2hrs of dining. We made a reservation through Open Table a week before our intended visit. We received reminders throughout the week and the day of for our reservation. Once in the restaurant, it was dark and intimate. The hostess was kind and welcoming. I loved the decor throughout the two story restaurant. The service was great. Our water glasses were never empty, as someone was walking by constantly refilling them. The waiters would go over each meal as it was delivered before we enjoyed our dish. Our waiter Oliver was knowledgeable and kind. Everything on the menu is a la carte. I attended a dinner event and was charged $104.37 based on a menu that was not honored. The portions and structure of the meal did not match what was listed. I contacted the restaurant, and the manager, Deja, acknowledged there was an issue, apologized, and agreed to adjust my total to $50 and issue a refund for the difference. I really wanted to like Haii Keii. It's new, it's in a decent area (Kirby), and it had a lot of promise as a new go to spot, but unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. We arrived right when the restaurant opened and were met with an empty dining room. Despite that, I was told my fitted sweatpants (part of a cute, casual look- A Wang to be exact) weren't acceptable for their dress code. These weren't baggy college sweats, but apparently it still didn't pass the vibe check. I asked to speak with the manager, and although they eventually made an "exception," the tone and energy already felt off. I was ready to leave, but my friends encouraged me to stay and give it a shot. I obliged....sigh. Once seated, we learned that happy hour wasn't available (not sure if they have one now), so we ordered from the main menu. Unfortunately, the menu didn't stand out, and the drinks we ordered were underwhelming. One concerning thing stood out the most to me. They don't bring you an itemized receipt. Instead, they just present the payment machine, which makes it hard to verify charges. One of my friends only had one drink, yet the suggested tip on the machine was calculated off a much higher base than what she actually ordered. That lack of transparency is definitely a red flag and left me feeling uneasy. Service wasn't terrible, but the overall experience; from the off-putting welcome to the so-so food and billing issues, was not what we expected. With so many great places in Houston offering excellent food, drinks, and hospitality, Haii Keii still has a long way to go if they want to stand out. Haii Keii was such a vibe. I ordered the Spring Nagano and the Ube Espresso Martini, and I was obsessed. Both drinks were super flavorful and decadent without being overly strong--perfectly balanced and dangerously easy to sip. The caviar cone though... AMAZINGGG. Hands down my favorite part of the night and something I'd come back for alone. Truly a standout. The eel sushi was solid and well-executed--no complaints there. This was a complete experience. The decor and ambiance immediately felt elevated and like no place I have ever been before. Sat at the bar which was a good move. They have an incredible dinner special for 55 dollars. Definitely get Murakami Roll as entree. I never had a roll that extravagant. The food and service was perfect. Had a great experience at Haii Keii Saturday night. Upon entry, the ambience welcomes you, as it's very beautiful. We had reservations and was quickly seated in a 2 seater that was such a romantic vibe for date night. Our server took a good while to appear, which i would say was the only reason I'm giving 4 stars. Once she arrived, the service was stellar from there on. She was very knowledgeable of each menu item and gave great recommendations. We tried many items, but I'll say the pork rib tacos were my fav. The portion could be a little more for the price, but I def recommended trying it. Drinks were yummy as well, but some had too much ice. Visited late on a Sunday. And maybe food would have been a bit better if we came in earlier from closing. It's absolutely beautiful inside, amazing decor. Staff were very friendly. Extensive cocktail menu, which I loved and drinks were tasty. The crispy Thai chile shrimp starter was my favorite. The fries weren't fresh and crispy but I understand it was near closing. I wasn't a big fan of the Haii keii chicken, just too much breading to meat ratio. read more

As for the ambience, this is the cutest, trendiest spot ever. Came here for a girls night and was blown away! Cons: We had a reservation and still had to wait about 30 minutes prior to being seated. They asked us if we wanted to wait in their waiting area & basically walked us out the back door of the restaurant to this patio area. It was raining and I definitely wasn't feeling it. I thought it was an actual waiting area near the bar. The inside is a medium size, they play very trendy, techno music and there's a screen that goes all around the ceiling that shows pictures and they even put my friend's name for her birthday on the screen. I ordered the short rib appetizer, which was so good, but very, very small. It was only about two small strips of short rib. I also ordered the crispy shrimp, which had a very peculiar taste. I wasn't a fan. My two friends got these very specific sushi plates and they thought they were really good. I tried the smoked salmon roll with the jalapeño and it was pretty good even though I'm not a huge fan of sushi. We ordered the Wagyu which was very well done and the Wagyu fried rice, which was average. We had gone to Haii Keii for Valentine's Day and were not told that the menu would be prix fixe prior to sitting down. It was also not mentioned on the reservation details. We were excited to try out some of the regular menu items but were limited to maybe 3 items per course. There was also a typo on the menus lol. The food was very lack luster and did not meet expectations. The seating arrangement was very crammed and I barely had space to put my things down since the other table was only about a foot away from us.
