Came here for their Thursday night happy hour which includes their $5 martinis from 3pm until close! I had seen on social media that they were $2 martinis so they must have recently changed it. We were immediately seated and greeted warmly with a bottle of cold water. They were good about checking to see if we were ready to order with reminders that their daily happy hour was ending at 6pm. We ordered the oysters, grilled oysters, chicken wings, nigiri, spicy edamame, and gyoza. Everything came out great. They were, however, not the best so I would not want to pay full price. My favorites were the chicken wings with its super crispy skin and sweet but savory sauce, and the oysters you can't go wrong with. I also got the lychee martini which was decently strong. The location is in the River Oaks District shopping center. There is free self-parking in the garage not too far from Azumi itself.

Heyyyyyyy on a good Thursday happy hour is here!! Talk about great priced food and Lychee martinis. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is my kind of spot.. it's nice vibes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Happy hour is either in the bar area or outside. The service is nice and they keep coming to check on you to see if you need anything. They are definitely quick on their feet!

Love azumi's happy hour!! My go to's are always the spicy tuna crispy rice and the shishito peppers, and as you can see, we ordered a LOT! Love the grilled oysters as well. We tried a few new things from their new happy hour menu, the spicy crunchy salmon roll and yellowtail crudo, and also opted to try the calamari this time. I really liked everything, and a lychee martini will never fail!

Such a great happy hour experience! They offer food and drink specials from 3-6pm and $5 martinis on Thursday for most of the day. Most of the items I ordered came from the happy hour menu except for the San maki roll. The San roll and the raw oysters were my favorite. The Yellowtail & Serrano Crudo was also tasty! If you're joining for happy hour, be sure to either get there early or grab a reservation. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Pricing is only offered in the bar lounge and patio areas, both of which were pretty packed when I arrived.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Azumi is a must visit for happy hour!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Went to happy hour and the patio is all they had left. We literally melted outside... because this is Texas.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Lychee martinis were great, edamame was okay and the calamari was a flop. My friend had the sashimi and she enjoyed it. Oysters were good. Service- they did their best. They need more breathable attire if they are serving outside in 100 degree weather. Shorts, short sleeve, a buckey of water dousing them every other hour, SOMETHING!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Azumi is such a great place for a romantic night out. The ambiance is beautiful- intimate, warm, and perfect for date night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My boyfriend and I decided to try the omakase for dinner, and we loved every single item that came out. Each course was absolutely delicious and presentation was exquisite. The service was just as impressive. Every server was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable without being overwhelming. To top it all off, we were treated to complimentary sake at the end of our meal, which was such a nice touch and tasted amazing. The manager for the night came over to introduce herself and ensure we had a great night, and welcomed us back which was great. Between the incredible food, great drinks, and cozy romantic vibe, it was such a special experience. We're already planning to come back to check out their lunch and happy hour!

I don't know how I was sleeping on the HH here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Definitely fills up on the patio- no reservations for HH so try to get there early.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They do a special in thursdays with the martinis which apparently gets real packed. Good deals and options on the hH menu- and of course you have to get the lychee martini! Ended up also getting the chefs nigiri 9piece from the regular menu which was still a decent deal. Every piece was absolutely delicious. I'll have to consider coming back for regular meaning but I'll definitely be back for another patio Hh!! Parking is free in the garage!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]My friend and I went to Azumi for happy hour on a Thursday, and overall it was a chill vibe especially if you are going for drinks.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They offer happy hour daily from 3-6 PM, and on Thursdays they have $2 martinis from 3 PM to close, which is honestly such a steal. We had the lychee martinis and they were SO good, easily the highlight of the night. I would absolutely go back just for those. [[HIGHLIGHT]]A small heads up: it does get crowded, so the earlier you arrive, the better.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When we got there, they had actually run out of menus, so we borrowed one from our neighbor until they were able to bring us our own. It was not a huge deal, but definitely a sign that happy hour brings in a crowd. They also mentioned they were running behind at the bar. The happy hour menu is on the smaller side, but the portions are fair for the price. We tried the chicken gyoza, Brussels sprouts, chicken wings, crispy rice, and the crunchy salmon roll. Everything was solid and tasty. The Brussels a d Gyoza were like favorites! I would not recommend going during happy hour if you are starving and looking for a full dinner. [[HIGHLIGHT]]But if you want some bites, good energy, and great martinis with friends, Azumi is definitely a good choice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I just want to say WOW about azumi. We went here for happy hour on one of my last nights in Houston. We were just so impressed with the service, the ambiance, and the quality of the food. For happy hour you're truly getting a bang for your buck with their food and drinks. We chose to enjoy their oysters (fresh and Rockefeller), nigiri, spicy tuna crispy rice, spicy tuna roll, and the flaming king crab roll. The best thing was the spicy tuna maki and the crispy rice! So flavorful and fresh! The king crab roll was the only underwhelming item... for the price I don't think it's worth it. For drinks I enjoyed a lychee martini which was delicious! My husband got some whiskey on the rocks but they put something carbonated in it and when he asked, they said that's how they do on the rocks so we're not sure what was going on. Overall our experience was very good and we will be back again!

Ya know no. This place is located in highland Village and they share valet eith like 3 other restaurants. I dont like to use the valet service because they literally park your car im a dirt lot. Like what am I paying for?? We had a reservation for 7. It took 10 mins to seat us... our waitress was pleasant but lordddd was she slow. That was likely in part because they appeared under/short staffed. The food tasted great, when we could finally get it. I mean the service was slow as molasses! Don't come here hungry because there will beva wait. I enjoyed my sushi rolls and the spicy edamame was really good.

We came for happy hour on a Monday. Happy hours starts at three and usually it's pretty pretty packed so I would come early, especially on Thursdays where they have a two dollar lychee martinis. They're happy hour is not better at all and they have a few options to go off of this. Shrimp was amazing. The crispy rice with avocado was everything you wanted you do have a minimum of three to order. They're Leche martinis were good. It was. I wouldn't say it was the best but for the price it was great. You sit at the bar for happy hour, but it is an upscale place so I would dress accordingly. Parking is in the garage usually it's free or there's valet Unisex bathrooms

I've been hearing sooo much about Azumi's HH from 3-6, but specifically the $2 lychee martinis on Thursdays. I'm sooo happy I visited because it didn't disappoint. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance of the restaurant and patio is very inviting and warm.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We arrived at 5pm and it was an hour and a half wait so definitely be there before 3. We were still granted the HH for drinks but not food, which was odd. I ordered the drinks which has a max of 4 for the HH special. They are on point! For food, we ordered mainly starters such as the oysters trio (10/10), Brussels (8/10 because they're flaky vs cut in half), shishito peppers (10/10) and the yellowtail tuna roll (7/10 because it was too much avocado). I for sure for sure visit again very soon.

Came here for their happy hour and had a great time! We got there early around 2:45pm to ensure that we were able to get a spot, and the servers were so kind to seat us and let us wait for happy hour to start. We ordered the crispy tuna rice, the grilled oysters, the brussels sprouts, the crispy calamari, shisito peppers, hamachi maki roll, the chicken wings, and some lychee martinis. The crispy tuna rice was my favorite thing we tried. The tuna was super fresh, the rice was crispy, and I loved the flavor of the sauce. This is a must-get when you go. (8/10) The grilled oysters were just okay, they just tasted cheesy. Not bad for the price, but nothing special. (5/10) The brussels sprouts were also a miss for me. The flavor was good and they were well roasted, but there were barely any full brussels sprouts. It was mainly just the leaves. (5.5/10) The crispy calamari was not crispy sadly, and a bit bland. The sauce was a spicy mayo that helped the dish, but I would not get this again. (4/10) The hamachi maki roll was nice! The fish was fresh and I felt like it was very comparable to other hamachi rolls that I've had before. (7/10) The chicken wings had great flavor. My only complaint was they they were not crispy at all. The meat was tender though and overall a decent wing. (6/10) The lychee martinis were STRONG. I think it might be a bit stronger than I'd like, but the lychee flavor is there and for $2 you really can't beat it! (5.5/10) I loved the bright and lively ambiance here and can see why the happy hour can get filled up fast. I would recommend making a reservation beforehand or getting there right at 3pm when it starts to make sure you can get a spot. Also, there is a free parking garage in the plaza. Would recommend this place for those looking for a cheap and a cute spot to catch up with some friends!

Upon arrival, I was told that I could not sit at the sushi bar and eat. If I wanted to order I had to go sit in the common area of this dining hall. After this discussion, I said fine and asked for a menu. They then told me I had to get up and order at the register and view the menu glued to the counter. They took the order of a couple who sat down maybe 2 minutes before me in front of me. I will never come back to this place. They seem to be the last man standing in this dining hall, and with this kind of customer service, they won't last much longer. It's a shame because I love the food and I am a regular at handies and aiko as well. Won't be back to any of them.

Very small but quaint and thoughtfully decorated. Service was great and I have no complaints there. The Sunomono was honestly the highlight of my meal and I feel like I could eat that everyday. I picked the Maguro Crudo and it was so fresh and clean and just the right amount of sauce, perfection. The two handrolls I picked were Kani and BF Tuna. The tuna was optimal and had the perfect balance and ration of constituents as well as the right amount of flavor. The Kani I was a little disappointed in, it was like eating tuna fish. Lastly, I got the mochi matcha and while the flavor was good, the consistency was a little weird. Probably not something I would get again. I will be back very soon to try the main menu and eat more sunomono.

GENERALIZED REVIEW:…read more Came here with a friend from theatre after a full run--he had this place recommended to him by another theatre friend, so we're just passing on the word. The plaza was a bit confusing to navigate, and I'm pretty sure if the place weren't full of Asian parents and their kids, it would've felt like the shadiest place ever because you have to enter from the back. Otherwise, the plaza had a lot of great-looking stores overall. My first go-to: I've loved drinking Kirin Light ever since I discovered it in Chicago. The flavor is literally so light, with a slight acidity that brightens up my meal. The sake here was frankly also delicious. I didn't order it, but my friend did, and they had it warmed. The flavor was soothing and subtle, almost like tea. It was exceptionally easy to drink, and the ocean-themed ceramicware was a beautiful touch. We ordered two rolls: the Shaggy Dog and the Truffalufagus (a fun tongue-twister). I personally chose the Truffalufagus (which is not fun to spell) because it seemed like the most unique dish on the menu, and I enjoyed it very much. What I liked most about it was that it was subtle yet impactful. I also loved the textures--from the internal crunch paired with the fresh jalapeño to the softness of the fish. I'm glad I gave this roll a shot, and I would be excited to try it again anytime. The Shaggy Dog was great, but it appealed less to my flavor profile. It was a little too rich and creamy for me. I recommended this place to my BF as a potential future date spot--I personally think he would like it... if he weren't the type to enjoy AYCE sushi so much. If they had more unique rolls, I would definitely come back just for those. I was tempted to order the Surf and Turf for this round, but I didn't want to seem like a glutton, hahaha.
