Nobu is located in the Galleria so it can be a bit difficult to find parking. Be sure to plan your time accordingly so you have enough time to park and walk through the mall to get to the restaurant if you are not doing valet. Service was amazing. Our servers were very kind and attentive. However, the food was very disappointing. Most of the sushi dishes weren't particularly unique and tasted pretty average. The miso soup was very salty. We recently moved to Houston and went here for our anniversary dinner after hearing all the hype... let me tell you it for sure lives up to it! We had the 3 course menu for restaurant week which was modestly priced at $55 pp. The service was incredible and they are so knowledgeable about the menu. The restaurant was so pretty and nicely lit. I will surely be a regular! The yellowtail jalapeño was the most perfect bite! I can't think of any I've had this year more delectable... OMG! Came in on a Tuesday for HRW and it was an alright experience. The HRW menu was not bad, but service was a tad slow and inattentive. For my first course I ordered the tuna sashimi salad which was pretty filling and quite refreshing. For my second course I ordered the black cod butter lettuce. The cod was nice and tender, but a bit too sweet for my taste. My friends ordered the white fish tempura which I thought was better--more suited to my palate. You can see the chefs in the kitchen, which is neat and every time they seat a new table they servers and chefs something in Japanese, that means welcome! So that is pretty neat. Dress code - I don't believe there was any because men in my party had shorts and sneakers on and also saw people in T-shirts/joggers. Everyone was super pleasant that we met there. We loved our server. For the food, it was good, but not great and I do believe the food is slightly overpriced. My boyfriend had someone else's hair in his rice! This is a late review as we visited last year on Valentine's day. Came to Nobu to experience their omakase, which didn't feel like an omakase at all. You're seated at a table where you do not see the chefs prepare your courses. The food was good but not amazing, I would've been content eating at another sushi place for a way cheaper price. I also don't think the price matches on the amount of food you get for the omakase (and taste). The atmosphere is nice but that's about it. I had another amazing buffet experience at Nobu. The Sunday brunch had a variety of fresh sushi, along with salmon, steak, waffles, desserts; there was so much to choose from, and everything I tried was delicious. The mimosas were great, and the vibe was nice due to the DJ playing good songs. We were seated right away, and parking was easy with no issues in the lot. The location is super convenient, right near the Galleria Mall entrance, so it's perfect if you want to do some shopping before or after brunch. The waitstaff was courteous and very attentive. The biggest disappointment was that the experience did not match the cost. Hubby surprised me with Sunday Brunch here in the galleria. Some how this gem missed us for a while, as we try to stay in the know on all the Brunch Buffets in Houston. I visited Nobu on a weekday afternoon with a friend to celebrate her birthday! We ordered from the Tanoshi happy hour menu which is available every day from 5-7 pm in the bar and lounge section. The Tanoshi Hour menu offers small bites, appetizers, and select cocktails. The bar and lounge side of the restaurant is less upscale but is still comfortable and great for larger groups. We sampled the spicy tuna roll, shishito peppers, and the classic yellowtail jalapeno. Each dish was fresh and flavorful but the portions were small. If you are rather hungry, Nobu isn't the best option for a filling meal unless you're willing to spend a pretty penny. I've heard a lot about Nobu. For the price, the food wasn't bad but I was underwhelmed. I mean the brunch sushi was just basic. The brunch food was okay. They called this dish with was seemed like rice and shrimp, shrimp and grits. I was expecting different. The dessert was meh. I love cheesecake but it wasn't good enough to finish. Personally, I tend to avoid buffets that allow children to serve themselves. I saw this a lot there. If no reservation available, they do accept walk-ins. This was spur of the moment so we did the walk-in and sat at the bar. There is a live DJ there and the music flowed. The DJ did a great job. There is valet for $12. The Brown lot is the closest. This was our first time going to Nobu. We moved here from Los Angeles years ago and we had heard amazing things about Nobu Malibu when we lived there. So for our 21st anniversary we decided to celebrate with a 6pm reservation at Nobu Houston. Now I don't know if it's because it's attached to a mall, but we were pretty surprised how a a fine dining establishment with the reputation of Nobu had the ambience of a Cheesecake Factory. There were children everywhere. We counted 8 total and the restaurant was not busy. It seemed like most tables had their kids with them. Now we have no issue with kids coming to places like this, as long as they can behave like anyone else should at a fine dining restaurant. We were seated right next to a family that had a child about 3 years old who was screeching and never sat down. He was standing on the booth with chopsticks in hand like weapons even when his food came. His parents couldn't have cared less. On their phones, just ignoring him like we're at chuck-e-cheese. And no one from the staff said anything or asked us if we would like to move, knowing we were celebrating our anniversary. Could we have said something to them or the staff? Yes. But their table was inches from ours and we didn't want to engage in a confrontation when we were trying to enjoy one of our few evenings out together. Now to the important part- the service and food. The chopsticks were not the bamboo kind with the Nobu logo, these were the type you had to break apart and run against each other to shave off splinters. I ordered a dirty martini that wasn't to my liking (not dirty enough) and the server was awesome and fixed it right away. Our server was awesome. He saw a problem, and fixed it. And for that he individually gets 5 stars. The food was OK. We ordered the $140 per-person spring pre-fix menu. The fish was fresh. The beef was cooked well and tender but barely warm when we got it. The dessert was fine. It was a chocolate cake with whipped cream and a scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream that wasn't made recently because had ice crystals in it. I used the restroom before I left and there were paper towels on the floor and the sink was a mess I know none of these things individually are a big deal. Heck, none of them are a big deal altogether- unless you just paid $409 for dinner, drinks, and tip. Did they ruin our anniversary? No. Do I feel like we wasted our money? Yes, absolutely. Ambiance- screaming kids, dirty bathroom. Food- tasted fine- but it's nothing special. It's regular food with a pretty presentation. Service- our server and the other servers that touched our table were we're great- but management should have recognized the screaming kid issue and rectified it. He seemed pretty busy talking to the pretty woman working at the host stand. When we walked in and when we left it felt like we were interrupting the newest workplace chisme. Years ago my husband and I both worked in fine dining and we were saying to each other how we would had our asses handed to us if we ever acted that casual around guests. And how we felt bad for the hostess because she was living the cliche of her manager hovering over her while she's just trying to do her job. Price- sooo not worth the money. We are the type that would spend double (and have) than what we spent had Nobu and walked away feeling we got our monies worth. Not this time. So if you don't mind dropping hundreds of dollars for a quick bite before you leave the mall with your kids- this may be the place for you. I've eaten at a few other Nobu/Matsuhisa locations and this was by far the worst experience. I can't even comment on the food because they caused an issue that left such a bad taste in my mouth, the food seems tasteless. We made a last-minute reservation on Open Table for Mother's Day brunch, because it was one of the few "nice restaurants" in Houston that had availability left for Mother's Day (that should have been a sign). We ate there. Shortly after we were charged a $100 no-show fee. When we called the restaurant we were told we needed to provide them a receipt. We offered to send them pictures of ourselves dining there, as we had taken plenty on Mother's Day. They told us they would accept it, but they would be making an "exception" for us, which is ridiculous considering this is a mistake on their part. They told us to call back in a week if the charge was not reversed. Fast forward a week, the charge had not been reversed. We called in and spoke to a different manager, named STACY, who gave us an attitude, lectured us, and told us it was against their policy to do a reversal without proof and we would need to get in contact with their corporate office with our credit card statement... Is business so bad that they have to try and nickel and dime patrons for no-show fees? I'd understand if they had been fully booked weeks in advance, but we made a last-minute reservation, clearly dined there, and even though their host made a mistake, they were unapologetic and were trying to make us jump through hoops to get our money back. This poor service truly explains their low rating and open availability. Save yourself the headache and eat at Uchi or one of the many other sushi restaurants in Houston. We chose Nobu Houston for my mother's birthday during Houston Restaurant Weeks after watching the Nobu documentary and being genuinely excited by the passion, hospitality, and attention to detail the brand seems to represent. Unfortunately, our actual experience could not have felt further from that impression. The quality of the food itself was good, but for the prices and extremely small portions, the overall value was difficult to justify. More disappointing, however, was the service. Drinks took an unreasonably long time to arrive. At one point, other waiters came by asking if they could take our drink orders while we were still waiting for drinks we had already ordered. It gave the impression that there were plenty of staff around, but very little communication or attention being paid to our table. Several people in our party were not particularly familiar with sushi or Japanese cuisine and naturally had questions about the menu. Instead of making us feel welcome and helping us understand the dishes, our waiter repeatedly came across as impatient and visibly annoyed. Asking a question seemed to be treated as an inconvenience, and his attitude made members of our table feel as though they were being looked down on for simply not knowing the menu. The most disappointing moment involved my cousin, who drove in from Austin specifically to celebrate my mother's birthday. She doesn't like fish, so she asked the waiter for a good non-fish recommendation. Rather than simply helping her find something she would enjoy, his reaction came across as openly judgmental and dismissive--as though ordering steak instead of fish at Nobu somehow made her less worthy of being there. There is absolutely no reason a guest at this price point should be made to feel embarrassed about their preferences. That attitude was unfortunately consistent with the rest of the evening. The waitstaff were inattentive, rarely checked on us, and often seemed inconvenienced whenever we needed anything or had a question. For a restaurant with Nobu's reputation--and its prices--we expected excellent food accompanied by knowledgeable, gracious hospitality. Instead, we got good food, very small portions, painfully slow drinks, inattentive service, and an atmosphere that made some members of our party feel judged rather than welcomed. When I think of brunch, Nobu had never even crossed my mind, so kudos to the Nobu marketing team in putting together a solid brunch buffet option. Made a reservation for 4 for Sunday brunch and were seated immediately. They have the food sectioned in in hot dishes together, desserts together, and sushi together. I agree with another review that the plates to hold the food weren't very big so if you're trying to get one of everything on the plate, you'll definitely need to juggle multiple plates or make multiple trips. My favorites were the miso cod, the chicken karaage, a meat dish with chimichurri (sorry forgot the name), the miso spinach salad, and their nigiris. With a little bit of everything I got pretty full pretty quickly. Even though the $68 price tag is pretty steep, as long as you eat your money's worth it's worth it. My friends and I parked in the Yellow garage, which is where they recommend parking along with the Brown garage unless you go for valet. They also have a lot in front, but the odds of getting a spot there are pretty slim with the busyness of the Galleria. When we first walked in we immediately noticed it was super humid inside, which our server explained is due to maintenance workers leaving the doors open when they work in the Galleria overnight. Luckily it did start cooling down as we stayed seated for longer, and I give props to them setting up heavy duty fans around the lines for food. Not sure if this is something that consistently happens in the restaurant but something to note for our visit today. First time at Nobu, came for the new Sunday AYCE brunch. It's $68 per person for the food. It is busy all the way until they close so a reservation is definitely a good idea. The service is pretty good, the staff is friendly and really helpful. The inside of the restaurant was a little warm, would have been more comfortable if the temp was lower. Live DJ was a fun touch. Lychee mimosa was $14. It was sweet and refreshing but definitely pricey for what it was. The food is split into 3 sections. The sushi area has some salad, rolls, and nigiri. My favorite was the nigiri, which I think you should focus on if you're trying to get the most out of the AYCE experience, but it sounds like it's not as good as the nigiri outside the AYCE brunch. Probably difficult to control the quality (things like temperature of the rice and fish) when it's being produced in such large quantities. Another section has various things like the black miso cod (another favorite), sliced New York strip (flavorful with various sauces to choose), pastries and rolls. I skipped out on anything with bread so I wouldn't get too full too quickly. These things don't come out in very large amounts so it's possible they run out on the floor and you have to wait for the next batch to come. Last section is dessert. I liked the chocolate mousse the most. Cheesecake was just ok. Didn't get to try the cake as they ran out close to closing time. Last call for food is 3 pm, food is taken away at 3:15 pm. Overall, the food is satisfying, but I am not sure it's worth its $68 price tag. I liked the black miso cod but cannot tell that it's usually over $40 for a regular portion. The nigiri certainly doesn't seem like it's worth its normal price tag of $7-8 per piece. I think I could get similar quality sushi for a lower price at other places without feeling the pressure to eat more to get my moneys worth. I would consider coming back to Nobu to try the regular menu outside the Sunday brunch and see if the quality and experience is any different. I recently had the pleasure of dining at @noburestaurants, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. The atmosphere felt sophisticated yet welcoming -- perfect for a relaxing evening. I tried a selection of both hot and cold dishes, and each one impressed me with its presentation and balance of flavors. The seafood was incredibly fresh, the textures were spot on, and everything came out at just the right temperature. I especially loved the variety on the menu -- every dish had a unique touch that made it memorable. You're paying for the name. Wasn't super impressed. They have ac units running all over since apparently it gets hot inside. Went for restaurant week and was worth the dishes since they were tasty but def wouldn't pay full price for them. We were searing in a nice cozy corner in the back but staff allowed two people to get in arguments on phone calls just a few feet away from us bc we were in the corner which ruined the vibe totally. We tried the new Nobu Brunch All You Can Eat Buffet at $75. Not worth it. I had Truffle Mac and Cheese was good but surprisingly luke warm. The Miso Cod was delicious along with the Cha Siu. They had Shrimp and Grits, Bao buns, and Takoyaki. They had very few options for sushi, they only had Cucumber Rolls, Avocado Rolls, Vegetable Rolls, Shrimp Tempura Rolls, Alaskan Rolls, Spicy Salmon and Tuna Rolls, and three types of nigiri sushi ... salmon, tuna and white fish. Also two salads and shrimp cocktail which was really good. Service was better than the last time I was here. But honestly there are a lot of better All You Can Eat Japanese/Sushi places. Not worth $75 + a ice tea, tax and tip. So like $103 for mediocre and not a lot of options BASIC sushi. For the price vs quality and selection, not worth it. read more

We came for the experience! Some girl friends & I came in town to celebrate Mother's day weekend so we decided to splurge a bit & pop in NOBU. The atmosphere was amazing. Loved the vibe; music playing was great. We tried multiple different foods and shared. (parmesan truffle rice, salt n pepper Kushiyaki chicken, ROCK SHRIMP TEMPURA, crispy baby potatoes). It was OK. I would come again but i won't order the same foods. The service was OK. Our waiter wasn't overly friendly nor was he mean; he did his job. As they were cleaning the table off at the end, the remaining plate of potatoes and sauce was almost spilled in my lap :-/. It all hit my purse and bench seat so, no need to scream bloody murder. They brought over wet naps and assisted to help me clean it all off & apologized. Would have been nice to get a courtesy extra shot of crown for my purses pain & suffering! Lol! read more

Visited the Galleria location. Four stars solely because of pricing, which I found too high. Plus, we arrived during happy hour, which is only available in the bar, but it was exceptionally cold there, so we opted to sit at the regular sushi counter, and thus forgo the happy hour specials. That was disappointing. However, service was top notch. Sushi chef offered me an alternative to Natto (which they didn't have and he seemed surprised to hear someone order). Offered a squash option instead, which was new to me and lovely. The food here is STILL (Nobu has been around for some time) exceptional. The veggie roll they made for me here was the best I've ever had. Not even sure what all the veggies were, but the combo was simply exquisite. We limited our ordering this time, but much enjoyed our visit. Thanks to the chefs and the servers for a quality experience! read more
