This place is really good. We came here a while back and I forgot to write the review. When we came they didn't have their liquor license yet so we didn't get drinks. But the sushi was really good and fresh. The service was excellent. Our server was very attentive and helpful. They even accommodated a special request for a roll. We will certainly be b

I ordered from the lunch menu on a Thursday afternoon in person. I was a bit disappointed their bento box doesn't include a portion of California roll so I went with the sushi maki lite A. This includes two rolls from a pre selected list and a soup or salad. I got the salad but used my own dressing. I chose the California rolls and jalepeno roll (up charge $1) . I usually don't like fried rolls but I liked the ingredients inside the roll and I really enjoyed it. The California roll was just ok. The wasabi wasn't strong but they gave a healthy helping of ginger. I'd go back for the convenience

This is a tough one, but I settled on 3 stars because that's supposed to mean "Ok" and that's what I felt overall about my visit to Akiko. They recently opened off of San Felipe in the same shopping center as Randall's, Los Tio's, and Adair Kitchen. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have tons of seating, booths, tables, and a long bar top. The interior looks brand new since they just opened up, so everything still has that new restaurant gloss.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We came by for a late lunch while running errands, and it was more or less empty besides a guy or two eating at the bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered sake and wine, but they don't have their liquor license yet FYI. The lunch menu has some very well priced sushi combo deals($13 - $20), bento boxes ($16), as well as hot lunch combo meals that come with soup or salad, and a bowl of steamed rice alongside the main protein you pick ($10-$13). I was really surprised by the pricing compared to other sushi spots in the area. I settled on a sushi Lunch Combo, the Maki B, which was one roll of your choice and chef's pick of 5 nigiri pieces. My tablemate went with the Sesame Chicken from their Hot Lunch Combos. Service was prompt and friendly. They checked in on us a ton, especially after handing us the check while we were still finishing our meal. They kept checking to see if I had put down my card which was offputting. Otherwise, they did a fine job refilling waters, and bringing food out. The quality of the sushi and other food is what makes me settle on "ok", because if you're looking for a high level serious sushi meal (MF Sushi, Uchi, 5kinokawa, Kata Robata, etc.), this isn't it. If you're looking for mid grade sushi that won't break the bank (Miyako, Ra Sushi, places where sushi rolls covered in mayonnaise and stuffed with cream cheese make you happy, etc.) this will work fine, and may even surprise you at how affordable they are. The nigiri rice was cold and firm, the sesame chicken was clearly a frozen bag of premade chicken nugs covered in an oversweet syrupy sauce, the soy sauce was super low sodium almost like water, and overall it just felt like a phoned in meal, but again, maybe I was expecting too much. I suppose the short review is they get 3 stars if you're a pricy sushi fan and expecting a top tier high quality Japanese meal, but 4 stars if you like a cheap sushi deal that will scratch your sushi itch.

Akiko is our neighborhood Sushi place. The sushi is always fresh and the prices are very fair. They have a happy hour for premium sashimi that's a huge value compared to other big brands. The service is quick and super friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]If you want somewhere nice, but not expensive and great fish, this is a really good spot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] (Also love their Bento Box)

Ordered delivery. Got the BOGO twister roll. I always do a sniff test on sushi as I am VERY picky about it smelling fishy. It passed the sniff test with flying colors. Very fresh fish. Packaged very well. They listened to my special requests also--spicy mayo on side and extra wasabi. Would recommend.

My friend and I found this place while we were shopping nearby. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is clean and has a nice ambiance which is quite surprising when it's next to a grocery store.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service is great. The food is decent but for someone who is a sushi lover and eats sushi all the time, I would rate the sushi a 6.5/10. The fish is nice but the sauce (ex spicy mayo) taste different from what I am used to which gave it a taste that I'm not used to. However, this is a personal preference and I can see others loving it.

I discovered this place a few weeks ago and have loved it! I think it's fairly new, have been here four times since . Service Is so fast! I love sashimi and it's always very fresh. I think they're still working on their liquor license and can't wait to have dinner with a drink soon! Food is great!

Absolutely delicious! The service was fast sand the staff was so friendly and helpful. There are a ton of gluten free options available as well. 10/10 would recommend!

So this is my second time coming here and I really like it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Its seems to be a pretty new place but I think the design of it and the interior is very nice and a lot of space for seats as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Everyone is very friendly and helpful both times I came. I enjoyed the sushi a lot. I got the super Catapiller roll and it comes with shrimp tempura and eel. This was one of my new favorites now. The Takoyaki was alright as the cream stuffing was as sweet as I was expecting it to be. This is a new item on the dish and they are testing it out from what I was told. The manager came to my table and asked for my opinion on it as it was the only thing I didn't finish and I gave her my honest answer and she was very friendly and understanding and even said she would pass along my recommendation to the chef and I hope it works out for them. Overall I am a big fan of their service and food. I know I will be coming back for sure.

Bad experience before close. I ordered on uber eats , in the picture the shaggy dog has avocado but when they give to you its is only shrimp tempura. Also I requested add ons and the resteraunt updated the total of my order so charged me for those add-ons but DIDNT even ADD it on to my sushi. Thirdly, the shrimp tasted bad like they are trying to clear the shelves of old food. Terrible terrible service. All I wanted was crunch and eel sauce and I would have been fine but no, they charged me for it and didn't give it to me. SC

They have a variety of special rolls. You can't go wrong with any of the lunch specials that are reasonably priced. The quality of the fish for nigiri/sashimi is pretty good!

This place opened fairly recently and I've already gone 3 times! It's been pretty empty when we've been, probably because it's still new. I hope more people start coming in because this is probably the best place I've had in this neighborhood that isn't really expensive. I love sushi but most places around this area are really pricey. This place is a great balance of reasonably priced while still having really great quality fish. The lunch specials are especially great! I usually get a lunch bento with sashimi and one of the cooked meats for my toddler. Service has also been really good. We will keep coming back!

The spot That's a hut is for bigger groups or VIP. I sat at the sushi bar and was able to see them Prepare the fish. I tried on their lunch special the oysters, 5 set nigiri which came with a salmon and some white fish and lean tuna. The quality was fresh, smooth, and buttery on some. One of the fish was seared which gave it a smoky flavor. I tried the oysters which were a small size and filled with a spicy and tangy sauce. The chawanmushi had a nice texture and flavor. You can also add foie gras, Uni,. Or crab to it for an additional charge. If You eat it plain then it does have some mushrooms in it. Also tried their scallop which was buttery. The Handrolls were okay. I don't feel like they were packed with flavor. I tried the salmon and crab Handrolls. It seems like they like to give most of their fish a little zesty yuzu flavor and some dishes a little spice as well. The fun experience was the fish Kasugodai where they serve you the sliced meat from the fish and then fry the fish bones for you to eat afterwards. It reminded me of a soft Shell crab texture in that it was crunchy and Crispy.

I visited sister restaurant Uchi and I loved the experience so much I came back to Uchiko for date night and the service was equally as wonderful. We went with the Somakase, we gave our budget, preferences, and sat by the sushi bar. The server created such a lovely experience she went above and beyond and brought us two desserts in the end. Our server was very nonchalant throughout our meal, to the point where it came across like he didn't really care about our dining experience. I ordered the $25 lunch prix fixe, which included the Hirame Crudo, Burger, and Sorbet. My boyfriend ordered the Hamachi and Sake Maki, Karaage, and Steak Frites. I expected the appetizers to come out first, followed by our entrees, so my boyfriend and I could actually enjoy our meal together. Instead, my entire prix fixe meal came out first, followed by some of the appetizers, while my boyfriend's entree was nowhere to be found. His Steak Frites did not come out until the VERY END, after we had already informed our server that we were finished with our meal. Only then was the entree brought out. What made the situation more disappointing was that there didn't seem to be much concern about the timing. Our server simply suggested packing his meal to go. I didn't appreciate finishing my entire meal first and then having to sit and watch my boyfriend eat his entree at the end. We came to enjoy lunch together, and the pacing made it feel like we were eating two separate meals. As for the food, I would skip the maki. The quality of the sushi roll honestly wasn't even comparable to buffet sushi. The burger is usually delicious, but because I waited for my boyfriend's food to come out before eating mine, it ended up being cold. The Karaage was too sweet for my liking and had too much fish sauce. The Steak Frites were good, but they would have been much more enjoyable if they had arrived on time. I'm not sure what happened with the Steak Frites, but considering they did not come out until after we told our server we were finished with our meal, it felt like the order may have been forgotten or not entered in a timely manner. To make the experience even more frustrating, when we received our bill, we noticed that we had also been charged for an extra burger that we never ordered. After everything that had already happened with the timing and service, seeing an additional item incorrectly added to our tab just made the overall experience even more disappointing. Overall, this visit was disappointing, especially because my previous two experiences here were genuinely amazing. I know this restaurant is capable of providing much better food and service, which is why this experience stood out so much compared to my previous visits.
