Tucked next to the Becks and out of sight off of Westheimer, it's a small classy dive bar with a cool owner in Louie and some nice bartenders. As you walk in, you'll be greeted by the 70's/80's/90's bar music of rock/disco and chessboard floor pattern. Then you get your drink order from one of the many pleasant bartenders (or Louie) and sit either inside or outside and think to yourself you're the luckiest person in the world. So they specialize in three things: cocktails/liquors, cigars, and patio seating. When you combine all three of those, it's the perfect bar. Cocktails such as ol fashions and cape cods are plentiful here. I also appreciate they do a new york sour here which is an underrated cocktail. Cigars are sold here too and they have cutters and plenty of torch lighters to spark them up. Outside on their patio deck has plenty of seating with some of those heaters in case you houstonians can't handle the cold. Only gripe is I wish they had a larger wine selection as they only have bordeuax or a red blend. Not sure if they serve white wines either. But there's wine bars for that. You're here for the hard stuff or a quick beer, maybe a cigar, and definitely a peace of mind. That's what keeps me coming back! read more

We always enjoy our visits here, which don't happen often enough. There is a small parking lot which we tend to be lucky in getting the last spot every visit. Theres a beautiful patio and a small amount of seating inside. The bartenders are always super friendly and welcoming. Every cocktail has been crafted expertly and is perfection. No food but is next to becks prime if you're feeling like a burger. read more

Cool, intimate bar. Much smaller than what I envisioned however, it serves it's purpose. We ordered a couple of drinks, Long Island iced tea and what I think was called Dirty Down South or something like that lol. Greatest aspect of this spot is the outdoor seating area. Very relaxing and if you want food you can order from Becks which is right next door. Will return!! read more

The drinks were good and the patio is nice, but we came in with a small puppy in a crate on the patio and they told us we were not allowed to have pets on premises. Now, the sole reason we came here was the pets friendly tag on Apple and Google Maps. So they should maybe clear that up with Apple and Google and get the "Pets Welcome" tag removed. read more

The bartender dude last night is a piece of sh1t, rude a55 hole. gave me attitude just for trying to order my drink, he's a short guy who thinks he's big that's what I remember about him. read more

I lived next door and took my dog for a walk, and I wanted a drink, so I came in. My first impression was a man making the STOP sign and saying "WE DONT'T ALLOW DOGS IN THE WHOLE PREMISES!" in a very RUDE way!!!! Ok... This is my first time bringing my dog here, but there are ways to express your rules; which I respect. But, I would appreciate a more friendly way of saying, " you and your dog can walk back home because you're not welcome here", or at least, that's how I felt it. I love this place and will be back, but please train your staff to be the best. read more

My bf & I have been coming here for like 2 1/2 years now. They have really nice drinks/ tasteful drinks. Every time my boyfriend wants a really good old fashion we come here. We do not come here all the time because the prices but I do believe their drinks are quality drinks. The manager Louie is amazing! We came for the first time in like 6 months & he still remembers us & what we ordered. Great hospitality. The inside is small; has a bar along the inside with like maybe 5-6 tables. The outside patio is a lot bigger & it's super nice & relaxing. Also they do not serve food. read more

I kind of didn't want to write a review for this place. It's one of my favorites little getaways and well kept secrets. Tucked away next to Beck's Prime, is a chill spot for the perfect quiet night. Nestled beneath the might oak canopy and lights, sits a small bar unassuming bar with a lovely soft lit patio. While I myself, am not an aficionado of spirits, my friend is. They have a nice selections. There are a few bar seats and tables available, but otherwise the seating is mostly outside, which is okay because of their gorgeous patio. Excellent spot for a night cap. The bartender Louie is very friendly and knowledgeable about his spirits. Nothing but great experiences, and I'll return again and again. read more

I love this spot. Best Old Fashioned in the city. My guy Louie is the best! Definitely enjoyed the patio.

small bar tucked off of Westheimer beside a becks prime and a library. Highly recommend their Charlie Chaplin as your first drink, then follow it up with one of the best old fashions you'll have in Houston. Definitely bring a large party of folks or your dog, maybe a just few pals or a date. read more

Horrible bar. Extremely rude staff. No wonder it was completely dead at 9:30 on a Friday night. Maybe fix yalls pet friendly tag online before having a meltdown over a puppy in a crate. Id rather drink my used engine oil than go back. read more

What an awesome spot! Great for cigar lovers and for patio lovers! Staff is so incredibly kind and welcoming! I recommend ordering the dirty south side--so refreshing. The bar has a great outdoor patio and is walkable from many townhomes but the reason they get one star is because they are not dog friendly which is something I value from a bar that is majority outdoors. read more

My spot to hide and sip on Old Fashion cocktails. Leo is the top mixologist in the area. Great back area patio and small interior to sit inside. This is more of an industry hang out. I used to think this was a bad thing. Its a big win though because everyone here understands personal service. I will continue to go here every chance I get. You can come here for the beer and wines, but more so for the spirits that you can not find other places. Cheers read more

Nice patio, tiny bar that fills up quick. Zero TVs (Which I like) good old fashions and cocktails in general. This place has been around a long time and has been a consistent low key spot. Location is great, great staff. I think it's better to come here with friends because of the small bar. This place reminds of somewhere only locals would know about for some reason even though it's no secret. I think the place falls into the category of beginning or ending of the night type of place. read more

Lamest, stale bar on this side of town. No menu, no class, inexperienced bartenders, shabby decor, poor service.

The service and staff were incredible! They give a very nice small town everyone knows each other vibe. They have plenty of seating between outside and inside, the make the drinks at a good balance not too strong or too weak, and the beer and other prices are very reasonable. read more

My friends and I LOVE muldoons. It's a small hole in the wall bar but the vibes inside are so chic and cute and the staff??? 10/10 amazing personalities and so sweet. This is also the only bar I know that serves you drinks, so you don't have the wait around the bar. Great place to stop to grab a drink after work and just to decompress after a long day. The drink selections are basically endless. I HIGHLY recommend you stop by! read more

I really enjoyed this very interesting place. It has a great patio and ambiance to it among the old oak trees. The drinks are great, but it is a small bar with little parking. However, I believe almost everyone will enjoy their time there, especially on the patio. Louie has been there for a long time and is very accommodating with making drinks not on the menu. There is no food there but you can purchase food from the restaurant next door and bring it over. read more

Muldoon's the Patio is tucked away on the corner of Westheimer and Augusta next to Beck's Prime. It's a small bar with only a handful of parking spots so it's easy to miss. It's a hidden gem. I came in on a Saturday night with a couple friends. The inside isn't very large. It's narrow but there are several table tops where you can sit. I went with one of their craft cocktails and it was great. Service was friendly. The best part is their nice patio. It was a little too chilly while we were there so we stayed indoors but I'll have to return when the weather's nice. read more

I've frequented here a few times and don't really have any complaints nor anything to rave about except that I can see why everybody seems to find here a comfortable bar when the whether is nice and you can sit under the tree. My favorite thing to order here is the Blue Moon because the bartender has the decency to place an orange wedge in the bottle whilst it seems that everybody else do not practice this or just don't have the citrus delight. Was not expensive here I think it was maybe $4 for the Blue Moon. I came here a few months ago when it was a little chilly outside and they had the outside heaters on, the one that stand about 8 feet in the air fed by propane. Inside, noisy! But it's a bar but just that the layout of the floor and walls have everything one says inside seem to bounce off everywhere and amplify. Bartender was pretty friendly, helpful and wasn't snobbish about anything I ordered. Wish they had food here. read more

This is a great outdoor sitting area gem! Its a great find! I found this through a collection and am so happy we went there. Except for all the cigar smokers, this was a great experience. Great bartenders, friendly, seems like a neighborhood place. Right next to Becks Prime so you can order there and drink from the bar. They share the outdoor space. read more

As a guest in town for just a couple nights you can't ask for better cocktails, drinks and company a short walk from the hotel scene around Gallaria. Louis, the bartender at Muldoon's of Houston hooked me up with a Last Word that reminds me of Bryant's of MKE Ray-gun, though the Word features mezcal. A slow night so he sat out with me to tell the story of the 400 year old oaks. read more

I've been coming here for about a week and god damn this place is awesome. Kim and Louie know what they're doing and make you feel at home. Louie is a an awesome guy and great to talk to. Great place for cocktails and smoking cigars on the patio. Always great service and good times here.

I am a regular due to the fact that I live in the area. Typically, Muldoon's has a great atmosphere with satisfying music. It is a great neighborhood bar. Louie and his co-tender are always exceptionally nice and charming. However, I went there today and had a terrible experience with one of the bartenders. She seemed new; I made this assumption based on the fact that I have not seen her working there before. She was a bit snobbish when I asked if Louie would be working after I realized she had a terrible disposition and poor attitude. I left immediately without getting her name. I called to ask for names but no one answered the phone. I'll be back but from now on, I would ONLY recommend Louie! He's a great guy who understands the service industry very well. read more

The place has a nice patio but is not pet friendly. The server was nice about it and I have nothing bad to say about him, it's not his choice. But owner should reconsider the decision to not allow well-behaved pets on that large patio. Until then, I won't be back. read more

Muldoon's! I'll start by saying Louie is simply the best person you could care to meet. His drinks are amazing / consistent, he's a people person, and remembers everyone's name/drinks. I'm only giving this place that many stars because of the patio and how it USED To have good mix of lounge music. The female bartenders have ZERO personality! They act like they being bothered to do their job when the place is empty. WAY expensive too. read more

Came here for a drink and cigar, left with a new favorite bar. First things first, Louie is THE FREAKING MAN. So I came here to kill some time with a cigar and drink. Upon arriving Louie greeted me and I told him exactly that. Starting off he actually recommended another cigar lounge where I can explore a bigger variety of options for cheaper. I truly appreciate someone that doesn't want to price gouge me as they do serve cigars there, but are pricey. Not only that, he said first round of drinks is on him! So I did exactly that, grabbed a few cigars, and came back to enjoy them with a drink. It was a warm but semi-overcast breezy day so perfect day to enjoy the outside. I was in the mood for something refreshing so I asked for a Moscow mule. Louie actually ended up recommending me try his very own drink called the Dirty South Side (something along those lines). That was fire! I enjoyed that drink so much I literally let him pick the next 3 drinks for me. No clue what they were called or what was in them, but NONE of them disappointed. Absolutely delicious and refreshing. Louie you have earned yourself another loyal customer. Can't wait to come back! read more

This bar is located off of a Augusta and Westheimer Rd. I was actually quite surprised that this bar was empty on a Sunday night. It's a pretty small bar with the small parking lot. Small enough where I feel like I can put my bedroom furniture in there. This was around 8 o'clock that I went and it was completely empty. The only people that were there was my friend and I. And he was there before I even got there. By the time we left three people came into the bar and that was about it. Not the bartender was a young lady with short hair and brunette and she was really nice constantly checking on us to make sure if we had everything we needed and were okay. I felt bad because it wasn't much business for her. I didn't really care for the drinks too much with the flavors however I guess it was okay. I would have preferred a frozen margarita however they don't have frozen drinks and no sangrias. There was a drink menu that was very small and some of it was written up on a chalkboard. The restroom was really clean. I wouldn't really care to come here again. It wasn't lively at all. i read more

Great little hidden gem that I frequent when I'm in Houston. I hate to tell others about this place because it is a very laid back setting where you can enjoy a cigar and a cold beer amongst friends. Imagine having the power to go somewhere in a busy area filled with business people, and fast cars, traffic, buses and all and simply closing your eyes...making it all disappear and you find yourself in a little cabana on a beach with sand all around you with as you sit under palm trees and a nice wind and excellent sounds of mellow Reggae all around you... AHH YEAH! That was my night when I discovered Muldoons. Although I was missing that special power to make everything turn into sand, this place puts you in the mood just for that. A nice dark spot with excellent music and a quaint crowd. Exactly what the doctor ordered. Just so happen on this magical night, the bartender (whom I call gamer girl) was in total reggae mode, and played some great mellow reggae for most of the night while making me glass upon glass upon glass of a great pour of wine. I met some friendly faces and chatted a bit with a few whilst admiring others for a simple night of enjoyment. Shots where being made for many from Patron to $2 jello shots. They have a full bar and a very decent pour without all the blown up prices you would usually find in the area. They do not serve food but are happy to allow you to bring your own food or even order from the many delivery spots around the way. I know my night may have been unique but if you catch gamer girl there ( as I totally forgot her real name) you may easily duplicate my Friday night experience here. Dress is not to impress, but know you are in the business area of the Galleria where many come after work and hang out all night. I'm sure casual is fine as personality can pull off anything. I don't live in this area and rarely frequent this area at night, but now that I know it's here.. I will frequent it much much more in the future. They do not serve frozen drinks currently but do provide a few during the summer months as patrons desire to sit outside under the lovely patio. I preferred sitting inside on this night and enjoy the wine, music and conversation. A spot like this.. you could easily come alone and feel right at home. Mellow Out... and Prosper. read more
