We went for an anniversary brunch on Saturday morning. When they heard it was our anniversary they brought champagne for us & sparkling soda for the kids so we could all toast! Our waiter was attentive and answered all of the questions. He even checked to see if the kitchen could make chocolate chip pancakes for our little one. Our table ordered the crab Benedict, steak and eggs and chocolate chip pancakes w/ bacon. EVERYONE said their food was delicious and we even had enough to bring home some left overs. The crab Benedict was light (not super heavy like some Benedict's) and the steak was perfectly cooked! The waiter said they used a special type of chocolate chips in the pancakes and even reheated they tasted good! We will definitely be back and I'd love to try for dinner too! read more

We had a party of 9 reserved a week in advance for a Saturday night dinner. Our reservation was at 7 and my friend who reserved had received a call that around 5:45 pm day of to confirm our reservation. However when our whole party arrived we were told that our reservation was lost and taken out of the system. In result, our large table was given to another group. We did not get seated till 7:45 and we ordered right away from the Houston Restaurant Week menu. Our food did not arrive till 8:15 pm. We were starving at this point. I believe we were not the only party/group this happened to. Also, my friend was sitting under an AC vent and the AC water kept dripping on her. Aside from this, our server was great and he was doing his best as I do feel they were understaffed. The food was not bad. They have a good selection for Houston restaurant week. We did get compensated which was appreciated. I've been to Savoir 2 times before way back and the wait was never an issue. Our group was thinking of going to an ice cream shop after but our girls night ended being cut short as we had to wait to be seated and get our food. It's off Yale and 14th street and limited valet available so it's easier to get street parking. Pluses 1. Drinks are good 2. Brie appetizer is tasty 3. Omelet with racketeering and crawfish etouffee was tasty Areas to improve 1. We booked patio because we wanted to be outside - they had a large baby shower that took over the large room and patio. It looks like it had been planned in advance so it would have been nice to know that the patio was not available . 2. Coffee service - the cup is really small and our server spilled the coffee out of the cup several times. That is just unprofessional to me when the cup is then soaking in the dish with coffee outside the cup. Plus it wasn't refilled as often. 3. Dishes are hit or miss - his shrimp and grits seemed to be a small portion and just bland and blah. 4. Restrooms are really dark 5. Patio outside looks unappealing there are dead plants and lanky wax leaf which gives terrible allergies. Also they have fake plants and also live ones inside the restaurant, but the inside orchids were dried up and dead looking so not fresh or appealing either. This used to be one of my go-to spots in 2022-2023, but unfortunately it has gone downhill, and I don't see it ever making a comeback. I came for brunch with two friends, and the restaurant was empty. Half of the lights weren't even on, which made the atmosphere weird. The service also felt awkward. Our server dropped our espresso martinis, and while accidents happen, instead of apologizing first, he immediately tried to joke about it. A sincere apology would have gone a long way, and I was surprised the drinks weren't comped. There was no sense of urgency when making me a new drink either. The food was the one good thing, it was still really good and didn't disappoint. I loved the brioche french toast. It did take forever to come out though. The overall vibe was off, and it was extremely hot inside, which made the experience worse. Sadly, I probably won't be coming back here. I also wish they would bring back the old menu. Food here is good and service is great! We were sat in the private room with large windows and the ambience was amazing. The beet hummus was light and refreshing and the fritto misto was a great blend of calamari and shrimp. I especially loved the garlic aioli that came with it. The steak frites was also good, but my steak was a tad overdone for a medium rare. The fries were delicious and were especially good with the garlic aioli once again. For dessert I got the creme brulee and sampled the tiramisu, both of which were absolutely delicious. Their cocktails are also delicious. read more

Last night we went for a very first time to Savoir. Overall, the food and ambience was fantastic. We visited because of Houston Restaurant week. Something very important to note is that in this space is two separate restaurants. Savoir and Pattons steakhouse. When we got there, we were seated and handed menus at 7pm. Once we seated, it took about 10 minutes before somebody came by to offer us water. Around 730 we finally rep replacing our orders when our way to realized that they gave us the wrong menu. They gave us the menu for Pattons not Savior. However he did make it up to us by allowing us to order from the Pattons menu. It was about another 30 min before we got our first course. It was AN HOUR (9pm) before we got our main course. The food was delicious but the red meats were under cooked as requested and since most our party needed to get going to relive babysitters we just sucked it up and ate what we could. We asked for the bill and desserts to be packed to go. Overall very mixed review. I'm not going to judge based on one night so I WOULD go back. I do think it's silly they have 2 restraunts in the same small space. If it's all Coming from the same chef and kitchen not sure why they need 2 menus. Food was good though. We went for Houston Restaurant Week and it was also happy hour. We sat at the bar and ordered a combination of things from both the HRW and HH menus. The food was outstanding; we had the short rib, gambas, crab pizza, and tuna tartare. The drinks were also great, particularly their blackberry old fashioned. The bartender and waitstaff were helpful and attentive even though it started to get busy, and the food came out quickly. The interior is charming and we really loved the variety of their menu. Came to celebrate a birthday and it was such a wonderful experience! Beautiful restaurant, both inside and out. We sat on the patio and it was lovely. We started with the charcuterie board and bread service--both of which were phenomenal. The charcuterie included a cheese similar to Brie with a different name because it's from Massachusetts, Manchego, and raclette paired with some meat and some fantastic pita style bread. The bread service came with a brioche, homestyle bread, two others, and a really good butter. For mains, we tried the steak and frittes (delicious!), the mushroom risotto (so good), and the black truffle pasta from off-menu (the best thing we had). For dessert we had a crème brûlée. It looks so inviting from the outside and it's really pretty inside too. We sat in the bar area and it was so nice because it wasn't very busy at all in there. We were just going to get a drink but then decided on appetisers too - raw oysters, calamari, and the brie. Everything was so delicious! The service was very good too. One of my besties and I wanted to take our moms to brunch. Savoir was perfect comzy comfy place on an early Sunday afternoon. I went to Savoir in the Heights on a Sunday morning for brunch with my wife and our toddler. Savoir markets themselves as a chef-driven restaurant that focuses on from-scratch cooking with seasonal ingredients sourced from local farmers and vendors. Parking is valet-only, but if you don't mind walking a couple of minutes, there is free street parking available on Heights Boulevard. Inside, the restaurant is beautiful, with a sleek bar, a stylish dining room, and an outdoor patio. They were accommodating to families and brought out a high chair for our toddler. When looking over the brunch menu, I was surprised to see that they did not offer a traditional breakfast option like eggs, bacon, and toast. I even asked if they could make something simple like that, and they said no. I've never encountered a brunch menu without a basic breakfast option. [BRUNCH] +Open Brunch Sandwich for $18 - BLT with truffle oil and a fried egg, served with potatoes. This was very average. It was essentially a piece of bread topped with BLT ingredients, and I ended up eating it like a standard breakfast anyway. Nothing memorable here. - 3/5 Overall, Savoir is a visually impressive restaurant with a polished atmosphere, but the food does not live up to the setting. While the ambiance was lovely and our waiter provided impeccable service, the food was a massive disappointment for a $200 special occasion dinner.The meal started fine with a good beet salad, but quickly went downhill: The Oysters: Poorly shucked, still attached to the membranes, and filled with broken shell fragments. The Mussels: Emitted a strong, unmistakably spoiled odor that we could smell across the table. We alerted our server immediately. The Dessert: The cream had gone bad, which ultimately ended our night on a completely ruined stomach. I chose not to cause a scene during our celebration, but I called the manager the following day. Solid 4 stars here. It's a nice, semi-upscale place that works well for a date or night out. The bar area is really beautiful upon walking in, and then there is a separate dining area that holds the majority of table seats. Food didn't necessarily stand out to me, but they were good. We ordered Caesar salad, mussels, jamon, and the cavatelli. I thought the mussels would come with bread or noodles but they were just the mussels themselves. The Jamon came with a nice crunchy bread. Tried brunch for the first time. It's really disappointing when the first thing you order (mussels) is not available. The Mutabal dip was also unavailable. Not a great start! Ended up trying the fritto misto, lump crab Benedict and crawfish omelette. Food was solid overall but nothing special. My kid ordered the burger and it was overcooked, so the kitchen redid it. Although the party consisted of teenagers, they arrived respectfully, with class, and intentionally chose this restaurant to celebrate a friend's 18th birthday. Despite this, my kids were treated poorly, and our server, Chad, was sassy and rude. The ambiance is perfect for a dinner date, fancy dining for birthdays or bridal dinner. I hosted my friend's bridal dinner here. The food was delicious as well as the drinks. We got the tuscan chicken, salmon, Brussel sprouts, lobster bisque and pork belly risotto. No food was left on our plates! They were kind to hold my cupcakes in their fridge, take our photos and offer a complimentary drink that was so good. The hostess Ashley and manager Vicente were super nice and accommodating. Valet is only $5 they take cash and cards. My only downfall was our waiter, he rubbed me the wrong way from the moment he greeted me at the door. I called ahead on what I could and couldn't bring. He made me feel I was doing something wrong by bringing my own party supplies. See pics it was very minimal. He upset a few of my guests by his attitude. He later tells us he doesn't do bridal showers. That definitely was not called for. I feel I said something to him to make him understand We were not having this as we were celebrating. Made a reservation for Mother's Day 2026. Upon arrival I realized it was a fixed price menu at $65/pp, which I had not realized upon booking. My mistake, so we rolled with it; unfortunately the experience just did not live up to the price. It was 30 minutes after seating before we received drinks (even cokes for my sons), 50 before the starter was served, and 1.5 hours to receive the main entree. It was just too slow for a family brunch. The server could tell it was awkwardly slow but did not offer any thing to improve the experience (in many cases restaurants will offer a drink, appetizers etc). I went to Savoir with my friend Helene S. on the last day of Eat Drink HTX 2024. If you're unfamiliar with EDH, it's basically a mini version of HRW that occurs in February. I've had Savoir bookmarked so I was excited to try their $25 dinner menu. Savoir is located in The Heights. They offer complimentary valet or you can park on the street in the neighborhood. Our server was Felix and he was very nice. He helped make suggestions for our beverages. I had a glass of Rosé while Helene had a mocktail called the Desert Blossom. They have a few mocktail options and they all sounded very refreshing. For the first course, I had the Tomatoes and Burrata. This dish was phenomenal and it was plated beautifully. The tomatoes were juicy, and I loved the pairing of the balsamic, burrata, microgreens, tomatoes, and strawberries! It was salty, savory, and sweet and so flavorful! I did not try any of Helene's Brick Oven Beets, but she enjoyed them. For the second course, we both ordered the Salmon. This entree was delicious and I ate all of it! The salmon was cooked medium and I loved the saffron couscous pilaf, chermoula, herbs, and pickled onions. I would definitely order this dish again! While we were eating, the manager stopped by to say hello and made sure we were satisfied with our meal. I always appreciate great service. They are participating in HRW again this year. They're offering brunch, lunch, and dinner and the Tomatoes and Burrata are on all three menus. I think I will be returning soon! read more

This venue appears to be a good choice for celebrations and group gatherings as long as your not expecting it to be fully private. I visited for a Saturday lunch to celebrate a friend's birthday. There was another birthday being celebrated, and there was also a bridal party in a private room with glass walls. The server was friendly and attentive. However, my dish was underwhelming. I was excited to see sourdough on the menu but was disappointed to receive what tasted like a standard grocery store slice. While the generous avocado topping saved it from being a complete letdown, I wouldn't order it again. Especially not for $18 pretax/tip. I also sampled the biscuit chicken sandwich, which was just okay; the biscuit was a bit dry. The curly fries were decent but not particularly memorable. Went with friends on Friday night for Houston restaurant weeks. Let me start by saying the restaurant is BEAUTIFUL with great ambiance. I can see it as a great place to celebrate birthdays & special occasions. One little flaw is that as we were talking, condensation from the air conditioning started dripping on our table and empty plates (thankfully our food wasn't served yet) and a staff member had to bring a tool with cloths attached to wipe away the condensation overhead while we were sitting right there. Our party of 4 all ordered from the HRW menu with different items and everything was good! The Tex-mex Brussels & tomato with burrata salad were the clear winners of the appetizer course! The pastas were good but really didn't stand out. The sorbets in the dessert course were local from Sweet Cup and looked so refreshing. The Croinuts were good but on the rich side. My favorite appetizer was the hummus (the eggs and beets were also yummy) as you could tell they make it in house. The biscuit was done well, chicken perfectly fried whith the pillowy dough. The curly fries were done right, crispy and soft. Food was stellar. Inside was made to feel like a fancy brunch place so you can dress up in your Sunday best to get in the mood! Wood fired red & gold beets, pink grapefruit, creme fraiche, pistachios and mint. So good! Definitely get this one if you love beets. Tiffany's tomato and burrata was delicious as well. Texas tomatoes, burrata, basil and black garlic balsamic. The fresh strawberries added a nice touch. The salmon was sooo good. Salmon cooked medium with a bit of crispy edge on a saffron couscous pilaf and chermoula topped with pickled onions and herbs. Amazing! They have a large selections of wines, cocktails and mocktails. I love it when there are several choices for mocktails. The desert blossom was so pretty and so refreshing. Prickly pear, blueberries, lime and hibiscus. Yum! The restaurant itself is so beautiful. Love the indoor outdoor spaces and chandeliers overhead. Great service. Felix kept out water glasses filled. Free parking is available by valet. Street parking is so easy as well. It looks like a small restaurant from the outside, but they have ample seating. We were sat by the outside patio in a window covered room and it was very pretty. The restaurant is beautiful and I honestly can say the food and drinks were pretty good as well. I would give the food a 4 and ambiance a 4.5. However, the service definitely needs some work. We were told that the staff was new which we could tell but you could also tell the staff was inexperienced. The bartender made good drinks and was very attentive as soon as you sat down at the bar. However, the restaurant was not busy and she seemed overwhelmed and got behind on drink orders. Once we sat at our table we waited almost 30 minutes for drinks. The staff does not know the menu so almost every question we asked which were very simple like what kind of sauce comes with this pasta they had to "go check". You can't be a server and not be able to answer basic questions about the menu. This isn't necessarily fine dining but it is a nice enough restaurant to have experienced wait staff. My friend had to go track down our server because she never came back to our table for us to ask for the check. The restaurant was NOT crowded for a Saturday night where she should have been that overwhelmed. We had 3 entrees, 3 drinks, bread service and I had a salad to start. She could not get the checks right. It was not confusing so not sure why she struggled. I think its just inexperience. I know they just opened by up and I would say maybe close down for another week or 2 and train the staff so the service matches the restaurant. Lastly, please remove bay scallops from the ingredient list for the Pork Belly Risotto if you are not going to actually put them in the dish. I was told they are small and mixed in. I am very clear what a bay scallop is and I know they were not in there. To say that the chef chops them up and mixes them in is insane considering they are already so small. Also the photo on the menu shows little bay scallops which are not chopped up and mixed in. Just remove or say bay scallop essence or broth, something to warn for shellfish allergies but I can assure you actual bay scallops were NOT in the dish I had last night. It was a slow Sunday night and sometimes that can throw off a kitchen and or server. But with everyone at the rodeo (so we figured) we had most of the place to ourselves. We had been here more than a year ago and it was so crowded. The prices are not sky high, but this is not an inexpensive restaurant. So we expect things to be very good or excellent. It was! The service was simply excellent, the food also excellent and it is such a beautiful place. I had the chicken and kept thinking that the dish might need salt. There was none on the table. But two bites in and I realized it was perfect and needed nothing. My wife ordered a Ramos Gin fizz. You cannot get those just anywhere, and like my Gin Martini it was perfect. It was our anniversary and they gave us some prosecco on the house and remembered it with happy anniversary wishes written on our dessert dish. Happily we will return. read more

Our server was very nice and patient as we took time to order dinner, drinks and provided recommendations. The ambiance was low lighting and curated a perfect vibe for the evening. At the end of our meal, our server presented us complementary glasses of wine, a great way to end the evening. Among our spread, we ordered the Bolognese pasta, Beef Bourguigonne, Caesar Salad, Pasta Nonna, and Pizza Allo Vodka with chicken. All dishes were amazing, there were no complaints!
