Came by when they had the $5 per pound crawfish deal and it was definitely worth it. They offer optional add-ons if you want to add to your boil. They offer the classic Cajun flavor and a house special jalapeño version. The jalapeño took me by surprise. It is definitely different but in a good way. It has a solid kick and the flavor really grows on you. Just be ready for the heat. As for drinks the chile mangonada was delicious. Sweet spicy and refreshing. My sister is obsessed with the picka-piña and comes here just for that. Great spot if you're craving spicy crawfish and fun drinks. Will definitely be back.

This place is a whole vibe and I was here for it. The queso and chips were fire. Not to mention the drinks that were hand crafted and made with love! Jerusalem and Emilio were awesome bartenders! The drinks they created were the best! I will be back for sure!

Amazing drinks ! i absolutely loved all of these tequila based drinks. All of them have great flavor and presented very beautifully. My favorite was the banana colada . I really enjoyed the chicken tacos and the burger was very yummy . I love a good juicy burger and this just hit the spot. I did a little sampling of everything and would definitely come back. I loved the sausage pancake bite was very different and was cooked perfectly. The service was really great as the bar tender explained everything to me and what was in each drink. The ambiance is nice as the music isn't too loud and i like that it's kind of a hole in the wall but swanky on the inside. There is limited parking so make sure to uber .

Came to Monkey Tail and just missed their Happy Hour. We decided to stay since the other bar spot was a bust. What we ordered: Batanga - El Tesoro reposado & Mexican coke, lime and salt. Manzanita Bonita - Chango house apple soda, wodka vodka, massenez pomme vert liqueur. The Batanga was tasty, and I enjoyed it, you can't go wrong with tequila and Mexican coke. The Manzanita Bonita - was good and the beverage was sweeter side since it had apple soda. The star of the show was the food. We ordered beef quesadillas and two beef tacos. We enjoyed both items and the sauces were fire! Definitely check this bar out if you are ever in the area.

Monkey's Tail is a great neighborhood bar in Lindale Park that serves craft cocktails. It reminds me of White Rhino (R.I.P.) in that they offer awesome drinks in a laid back setting. I tried to go with a few friends one night last year, but ended up leaving because of the heavy security presence. It was giving sketchy night club and not laid back neighborhood watering hole. Going during the day was definitely different. There was plenty of parking in their lot and there weren't any security guards with metal detectors. The bar is family friendly until 8 pm and the patio is dog friendly. Julie, the bartender was super nice! She was great about explaining the drinks and even gave us samples of some of their frozen drinks (Mangonada and The Northside). I had the Pepino Sour and the Basil Sandia Gimlet. Both drinks were so good and strong, but I of course loved the Pepino (duh)! My friend also ordered a Basil Sandia Gimlet, but he added Tajin to the rim which I wish I would have done. I didn't order any food but my friend had a cheeseburger and said it was pretty good. They have HH specials during the week and steak night on Mondays. I can't wait to go back to try some of their other cocktails!

Amazing cocktails, and food. Everything was very flavorful and spicy. Nice casual atmosphere with friendly music. Chill place on a Tuesday night.

So this place is on the north side of 610. It's a cute little bar I would say a neighborhood bar . Went for the Christmas decorations in the bar super cute vibey place. We ordered frozen hot chocolate and let me tell you those were really strong. They have food to order and their food menu is growing. From burgers to tacos to tamales and soon they'll have pizza we didn't order any food. We just went for drinks on a Tuesday night.

I was craving some crawfish and had never tried the crawfish here so I figured why not try 'em out. I opted for the regular seasoning, because I wasn't sure if I'd like the jalapeño and it didn't disappoint. Have I had better? Yes, but it did what needed to be done. I actually enjoyed it! They could have hit it with a little more seasoning, but not too bad. I devoured all 5lbs that I ordered. Good stuff! Give them a go for sure.

    Delicious!! Highly recommend!

Ambiance is great, we came for steak night and wow.... Steak was delicious, I highly recommend it! Only thing was lacking was more bartenders, the lines were long to order a drink and food. One more problem were the flies are ridiculous, I know it's Texas but way too many. Other than that the drinks and Steak were the bomb!

This was my final stop before heading to the airport, and WOW--what a way to wrap up my trip! I'm so glad I saved this little gem for last. First off, the vibe? Immaculate. Whether you're in the mood to lounge, grab a seat at the bar (hello gorgeous green tile), or soak up the atmosphere indoors or out, there's a perfect spot waiting for you. Now, let's talk about the drinks. The bartenders were incredibly friendly and genuinely excited to help me find the perfect match for my taste. And boy, did they deliver! I ended up with a Picka-Pina--a wild, refreshing mix of pineapple, dill pickle brine (yes, really!), chamoy, grenadine, and lime. Sounds funky, tastes phenomenal. But the real star? The crawfish. I got a pound with regular seasoning, a red potato, and their Monkey's Tail Dipping Sauce--and let me tell you, it was the perfect kind of spicy. Flavor-packed with just enough heat to give that delightful lip-tingling effect. The dipping sauce added an extra layer of goodness, and now I'm kicking myself for not having more time to try even more food and drinks. Houston next time I'm in town you better believe Monkey Tail is on my list.

One of my favorite bars, whether I'm going solo or meeting up with friends--it's always my go-to spot. The drinks are consistently delicious, and the atmosphere never disappoints. While the food menu is limited, the options are satisfying and hit the spot. Plus, this bar really shines when it comes to decorations. The Christmas pop-up was still up, offering plenty of fun photo opportunities to enjoy!

Monkeys tail is a little off the beaten path and we love it. They have a great cocktail menu that changes with the seasons and nice frozen drinks too. Their food menu is small, but everything is made well! My favorite classic cocktail (I think) they always have is the pepino. Staff is always friendly and helpful. We enjoy our time when we stop by this bar.

First time at this establishment since living in Houston for about 8 years now. Outside is unassuming, but once you step inside...lively and bustling. I attended with a friend on a Friday around 4pm and it was already packed inside. Music was loud, but you could still enjoy good conversation with friends. Basic chair/couch seating but was comfortable. For food, you order at the bar, grab a number and the food is delivered to your table. We had the crawfish with the jalapeño sauce and unfortunately I was underwhelmed. They needed to be purged a little more. I did hear that their normal standard menu food is good though. Drinks...delicious. I enjoyed their strawberry margarita cocktail and the bartenders did not skimp on the pour. Staff is friendly and I had a nice time overall.

The opening weekend was without heaters but fortunately it wasn't too cold. The servers mentioned that they were bringing in heaters in a few days. We enjoyed perusing their holiday themed menu and settled on our orders. I decided on the Carol Singer and J opted for the Coconut hot chocolate. I was happy to try these warmer drinks on a nippy day and they were both delicious! I loved the spiced warm cider taste of rage Carol Singer, though the standout of the night was the Coconut hot chocolate. The whipped cream was perfect for giving the hot chocolate Christmas feel while still getting a kick from the rum and amaretto mix. Our servers were attentive and very accommodating. They did inform us of another party coming in to the same table 2 hours after our reservation which was very reasonable and we appreciated the heads up. We came during happy hour and it was such a great deal. I ordered the Sweet Like Peach Tree, which was light, refreshing, and perfectly balanced with the peach and ginger. My husband got the Frozen Paloma and it was just as good, super smooth with the right citrus bite. We also shared the churros and they were honestly a must order. Warm, crispy, and paired with Nutella and caramel. What really made the experience stand out though was our bartender, Manny. He was incredibly welcoming from the moment we sat down, had such a great personality, and made the whole experience feel personal.
