After carefully reviewing the menu, I met my friend here for lunch on a Saturday, only to realize they only serve brunch on the weekends. My bad, but was also very disappointed, because I really wanted to try the lunch/dinner menu, and I didn't see anywhere on their website that indicated weekends were only brunch during the day. Most places serve brunch and lunch as options, so did not even consider that this place does not. The whole vibe felt kind of uppity though, so maybe that's a thing. We had a reservation and were the first table in, and I found it odd that in an empty room, they chose to give us a small table at the end of a sofa row but in the center of the room right next to foot traffic. We asked for a booth, as there was clearly no one there, and they seemed surprised by the request. Maybe we weren't dressed fancy enough like everyone else that showed up later, so they didn't think we would care? Anyhow, we did end up at a booth, and there was nothing wrong with the service. Our waiter was helpful and friendly, but the food itself was nothing to write home about. I wasn't surprised, since I didn't choose to eat here for the brunch menu anyways. I ordered the Pear & Brie Grilled Cheese and it was good (4/5), but would I return here just for that? Nope. My friend got the Huevos Rancheros, and she said it was good, but I tried it and thought it was just ok (2/5). Maybe I'll try again another time, but this visit was tainted by disappointment since I didn't get to try what I had carefully planned.
Grabbed lunch here with my aunt, cousin, and sister, and had such a great experience! We started off with the Cajun hot crab dip, and it was absolutely delicious. For my entrée, I ordered the chicken francese, and I loved it just as much. Both dishes were full of flavor, and I would definitely come back here again!
The description says breakfast and brunch which they do have, but they certainly have dinner as well. Parking is easy. Good variety of menu items. The cost is about what you'd expect. Most entrees are in the $20-40 range. The quality is good as well as the volume of food. And it's a nice enough place for a date or special evening out.
Randomly stopped by here for a quick happy hour and had a great time. This is their memorial location and comes with some cozy jazzy vibes, perfect for a nice dinner date or fun times with your girl friends. As mentioned, I was here for their happy hour and I quite enjoyed the selection they had. Their drink selection was varied and a decent price, but I think I enjoyed their oyster menu the best. They had $1 gulf oysters, $2 east coast, and $3 grilled. It's hard to beat a good deal like that! I also tried their fried green tomatoes and loved it. It was perfectly crispy on the outside and flavorful on the inside. I also tried their whipped feta which is a great shareable dish. The service was good, and the HH menu is definitely enough to count as a full dinner.
Visited Relish in Town and Country for a late lunch and loved the experience. First, the service staff was absolutely great with their interactions and explanations for us first timers. The atmosphere was energetic with a large lunch crowd but not too loud that it would make a table conversation difficult. I was stunned to learn that their happy hour started at eleven am and ended at five. Relish has an extensive libations menu and offers many classic cocktails at happy hour prices. My lunch was the Caesar Salad with chicken (4/5) after loving the starter of Meatballs (5/5). The overall dining experience was great and can't wait for another opportunity to try out dinner.
Parking: it's a shopping center so you can find a spot even if it's far. Service: really good. We sat outside because we didn't have a reservation but the attention was very good. We had several waiters stop by to check in on us. Drinks: strong, one was enough to sure me a good time and it was good. Food: I probably ordered the wrong food for me. I got the fried chicken with a biscuit. I thought the biscuit would be large enough to encompass the chicken but it was one small cube. It was a tasty biscuit though. It wasn't filling because I didn't eat the collard greens but did dip the chicken in the hot honey sauce. In fairness I'd never had any collard greens before and it was fine but not moreish for me, a personal thing. The deviled eggs were good with a small piece of fried chicken on top and drizzled honey. Ambiance: we sat outside, it was a beautiful night and not too much noise or too many cats driving by and we could easily carry a conversation without shouting.

This menu allowed us to try many different items as it was our first time to Relish & everything looked like a must order item. Deviled eggs $1 each & had a crispy chicken bite on top: perfectly creamy egg yolk; Broiled oysters were $3 each! Ordered a half-dozen. They were cooked to perfection; Whole grilled artichoke at $18 was divine! I never had a grilled one and the charred edges gave it an exquisite flavor; Mediterranean lamb meatballs was a great idea at $18 and served with grilled sourdough. Drinks: red wine and Rose 75 (both nicely priced).
My mom and sis have been talking about bringing me to this spot a few times and I was in town and I finally got to try it. We started with oysters which were standard and good. The snapper ceviche I believe it was, they raved about it but it was just okay me, flavor wasn't giving what I hoped. The Wedge salad dressing was divine and I would have licked the plate if I could, so good! I got the salmon which was delicious and perfectly cooked for my liking, however I thought the yogurt sauce on the side did not pair well with the rest of the meal. My mom's gulf snapper was so good too - nicely seasoned. My sister ordered the steak well done but it came out half burnt - she should have said something especially since it was her bday dinner. Service was good and restaurant is beautiful inside. Will be back to try more items.
Everything that could've been done right was. Everybody we interacted with was extremely hospitable and friendly. The restaurant was clean and beautiful. Very comfortable and classic. The door was opened for us on our arrival and departure- which is SO unnecessary but so lovely. The food and drinks were excellent in quality and flavor. We sat at the bar for happy hour and were astounded by the value. We ordered 4 martinis and the fried green tomatoes and our total was around $70. Given the overall experience we had, I was very pleased. Our bartender was fantastic. Very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. He made great drinks and was very attentive. I believe his name was David. The word I'm walking away with to describe the overall experience is curated. I'm excited to visit again.
Worst place I have ever been to. I wish I could give zero stars. You want uncooked chicken that is bloody and uncooked. $37 Meat that is burned for $43! Then this is your place
What a surprise! Brought my niece here to celebrate her graduation and the experience exceeded our expectations. It was Sunday evening and we popped in with no reservation and was seated immediately. Lovely restaurant with a lovely and professional staff. Relish left no stone unturned. From the moment we walked in, the staff was on top of everything thing. We were taken care of like we were VIP guest. Our waiter was top tier even when he had to end his shift in the middle of our dinner the waiter that took over did not skip a beat. We started with the fresh baked rolls, French fries and the fried green tomatoes. Both yummy and very satisfying. Cocktails are very delicious and well balanced. From the Chicken Pillard to the Pork Chops both was prepared to perfection. For dessert we shared the Carrot Cake with the Vanilla Bean Goat Cheese soft served Ice Cream. Everything was lovely and delicious from the moment we walked in. Professionalism is the name of the game here. Plenty of parking and outdoor seating. Would definitely make it go to spot
It's always very cold and unfortunately my food gets cold when the AC IS ON BLAST. It is a restaurant to I understand they have to keep the environment cool with all of the movement and what not but it felts like an ice rink ! Food was great, flavorful and well served, and well presented, the potato salad is AMAZING. Thanks for having us! Would recommend for brunch or date night in the evening or even lunch with colleagues.
There are some things I like about Relish and some things that I don't like so much. The second outpost of this new American restaurant, I stopped by for dinner on a Tuesday evening with a friend. They're located in a large shopping center. There's also a large parking lot, so you'll be able to find a spot. Ambiance (4/5): This is one of the areas where Relish shines. More of an upscale restaurant, Relish has a beautiful lit-up bar, some foliage indoors, and paintings that adorn the walls. Upscale yet comfortable at the same time. I sat at a mini booth. There's a mix of booth seating, table seating, and some seating at the bar. Service (2.5/5): This left a little to be desired. Our main waitress was quite slow and didn't check in much. The type of service where you have to grab their attention to get what you want after waiting for a while. Midway through our time there, we were switched to a new waiter without any explanation. He was more attentive. We did separate tabs and tried to split an appetizer, but they told us they don't do that. Is it that they can't do it or they don't want to do it? That was a bit of a hassle for us. Drinks (N/A): Relish has a full bar, but I was on my best behavior. I had an Arnold Palmer. Not much to write home about. Food (3.5/5): I got there before my friend did, and I was starving so I ordered the Parker rolls. They're the cheapest appetizer option at $6. Think of them as mini rolls, served warm, with whipped butter. I do get a little ticked off when I have to pay for bread and butter at a restaurant, rather than it being complimentary, but it is what it is. From there, my friend and I shared the whipped feta appetizer. Whipped feta cheese, sliced grape tomatoes, and olive oil served with sourdough bread. A healthy and delicious appetizer. This was the highlight of the meal for me. For my entree, I had the shrimp linguine which is served with those same sliced grape tomatoes. While not a large portion size, the shrimp were grilled just right and a good size which I always appreciate. Nobody ever wants mini shrimp! Quality shrimp here. The linguine was flavorful and the tomatoes gave a good burst of favor. I just wanted a little more, for it to have been a filling dish at the price point. Relish makes for a nice date spot. I'm curious how their second outpost compares to the original location.
I had a work meeting and this is where the person chose to meet for lunch. Upon walking in they asked if I had a reservation, turns out neither of us did. So they put us on a wait list and it took about 10 minutes to get a table. The menu seem pretty casual, however the ambience is a little nicer. Not the kind of place I expected to have to wait for a table. The person I met with said that they really liked the burger and fries when they came in the past which is why they chose to come back here. Trusting their judgment, I had the burger and fries. The bun was soft, the patty a decent size, but the overall flavor was rather average. I was pretty unimpressed with the fries. Almost no flavor whatsoever. On the flip side, The service was quite good and they kept my water glass full. Overall, good place for a meeting, better places to have a burger and fries. read more
So I have to say, I really enjoyed this place. I popped in for lunch. Much to my surprise, they have happy hour from 11-5:30pm! Well it's 5 o'clock somewhere, so I indulged in a 2pm happy hour drink. I can't recall the name of my cocktail (I think it was the Aviation) but it was a menu cocktail & it was a well balanced, pleasurable cocktail. The Mediterranean Lamb Meatballs were 5/5. The meat was well seasoned & the red sauce it was in was wonderful. Highly recommend. Got the grilled garden salad. The vegetables (squash, tomatoes, onions) were all chopped up so you get toppings in every bite. I also added beets plus chicken which both were also chopped up. I wish they had seasoned the meat a little more but the overall salad with the red vinegarette dressing was very good. 4.5/5. I will definitely return here. I really liked the upscale, casual vibe. Our server was very personable & checked on us many times and the food & drinks were good. read more

Not a bad place for a quick happy hour. This place was rocking for 5 pm on a weeknight and sat at oyster bar for a front view of some major shucking. Had the meatball appetizer and it was delicious. Perfectly cooked with an order of their side of in house made bread for dipping the sauce. Worth a return . read more
Great service at the Oyster bar at Relish This place was hopping and food came out fast and furious. We came at 4:45 pm and it was packed by 5:30pm. The oyster service was phenomenal and they were shucking as fast as they were ordered for other customers. We ordered the Mediterranean lamb meatballs with a pomodoro sauce feta topped with basil. Ricardo took great care although they were B-U-S-Y!!! Nice atmosphere. Great happy hour. Will return for dinner! read more

Amazing service by Gustavo at the bar, he made our drinks just the way we requested without a problem, a few minutes later Chef Jason Green stopped by to recommend the broiled oysters which did not disappoint, i definitely forgot to take a before picture because they looked so good that i dived right into it! food and drinks 10/10, amazing food, service and ambiance! me and my wife had a great time and will be back ! read more

This new Memorial location of Relish restaurant is lovely! Service is impeccable with all the right nuances. I thoroughly enjoyed my Salmon Salad as did my girlfriend. I'll definitely look forward to returning soon! read more
Seems like the Relish from River Oaks has expanded into Memorial City. Located in the area next to Cava and Randalls, Relish has a very nice interior indicative of the newer spots opening up in town in the past year or two. Service was very on point and the restaurant was very well staffed during lunch service. Ordered the crab dip and grilled artichoke for appetizers. The artichoke was split in halves and grilled. Unfortunately, although they smelled delicious, they were 90% inedible and very tough, chewy, and fibrous. I had to spit out the leaves because they were rock hard and impossible to chew. The crab dip came with seasoned crackers; it was overall just a bit too salty and devoid of crab. I got the hanger steak with fries and a side of kale and quinoa for the main. The steak was cooked well (to a medium rare) and the pepper sauce was tasty. The fries were a bit thin and crispy for my liking but they had good texture. For the kale salad, I wasn't a fan. Overall, Relish seems to be established as a nice spot for a dinner service or date but I don't think I ordered the best of the limited lunch menu. Service felt upscale enough and the full wait staff was present during lunch so I'd imagine it would be busy during dinner as well. The appearance is there but the food was hit and miss. read more
Came here for the $1 Happy Hour oysters which runs daily as of the posting of this review. I thought the gulf oysters were fresh and a good value compared to waiting at Captain Toms. $12 for a dozen oysters is a great value in general. Other than that, I found the rest of their HH menu to be disappointing. There just really isnt much on it and the prices on some things don't reflect what I would consider to be happy. I ordered one HH cocktail and it was a bit of a joke since it mostly just ice. Are places really still doing this? I switched to beer because of that and even the beer selection is a bit underwhelming for such a fancy restaurant. The restaurant itself is nice, a tad intimate and quiet. I think outside of HH, if you are looking for fine dining this place could be an option. Its not really over the top, you can go in wearing shorts and a t-shirt if you wanted. I would consider it outside HH for certain situations but its not a place I would frequent, even with the HH oysters. I did feel like they dont really want to waste their time on you if you just order oysters. Maybe that was just my imagination though . read more

Stepped into the restaurant and was immediately wowed by the layout and decor. I was greeted warmly by the staff. I had the seasonal burrata as my starter, and it was so good. The appetizer was light, and the different textures on the plate were a delight in my mouth. I was intrigued by the Pear & brie grilled cheese description, which reminded me of bruschetta. The sandwich was delicious. The ingredients combination was perfect. The restaurant is big, and has a bar area. There is plenty of parking, but valet parking is also available. Relish is a good addition to the Memorial area. read more

There are a lot of restaurants trying to provide an upscale neighborhood experience but I have not seen anyone execute the level of perfection Relish Town & Country provides. I was truly blown away by the experience. The design team did a phenomenal job with the decor and layout of the restaurant. It's a comfortable and airy environment offering a variety of seating options ranging from the oyster bar, regular bar and main dinning. The food and drinks are prepared to perfection and the staff emphasizes impressive attention to detail. The service was impeccable. Nothing was left out or forgotten. The owner is very hands on exemplifying his passion to insure the day to day operations remain at a high level of consistency. It's worth noting not to get discouraged if reservations are full online. While walk-in are welcomed it is encouraged to call ahead so they have the opportunity to facilitate everyone. There is valet during dinner hours unless you prefer to park further away. While I personally don't find this necessary given the convenient parking I do acknowledge this is a standard practice for restaurants of this caliber. I will definitely return with enthusiasm. Honestly can't get enough of this place. read more
Good late lunch, i think on a sat or Sunday afternoon. I ordered the salmon salad below. I asked for the salmon to be rate. It was not , but the waitstaff, attentive, and from afar apparently seeing my hesitancy proactively came up and asked it was okay. I kind of hesitated and they asked if they had done it rare. I said it was 'well' but not a big deal. 5 minutes later rare came out without me having to ask i put the 'well' to the side and had a nice lunch. read more

Lots of potential in this location, with a sleek interior and nice sized patio up front. There's plenty of free parking and decent amount of bar seating that looks like it could be a fun time. Probably my only gripe with my visit here was the staff other than the manager. The host acted as if our party of 4 adults and 2 children were imposing upon him by walking in on a Saturday just before noon. He made a snippy comment or 2 while we were trying to decide how we were gonna set the table up with the kids, just generally made us feel unwelcomed unfortunately. The wait staff seemed not too interested in being helpful as well, but not maliciously. My 2yo and 3mo were well behaved (no screaming, running around, no screens playing kid-slop tv), so this wasn't warranted by any means, there are definitely occasions where children can be a menace in public. Manager was warm and pleasant by comparison. He greeted us at the door, came by our table during the visit later on and chatted for just a minute or so, and made sure to say thank you before we left. Great stuff from someone in the food SERVICE industry. The food was standard New American dining. I wasn't super excited about anything on the brunch menu, and we weren't given access to a more standard menu. I think average taste and textures, with some above average presentation are a more than fair description for the quality. This is a decent spot to get something on weeknight when you need something familar, but not extravagant. A couple of months ago, my girlfriend and a few friends and I visited this new restaurant in the memorial area. I had heard great things about it, so we decided to give it a try. The interior was cozy and quite lively, and our server was incredibly attentive. We ordered the pappardelle and mushroom pasta and their signature cioppino. The cioppino was my favorite dish; it was bursting with flavor and well-seasoned. It's a tomato-based dish, so if you enjoy tomato flavors, you'll love it. To complement our meal, we chose a nice red wine. Our server recommended it, and it was a great choice. Relish was so good, oh my days. I wasn't expecting you to be as good as it was. My first time here and an impromptu choice turned out to be the best choice! My favorite by far was the deviled eggs, I literally already planned my visit to go back. They do get busy so call ahead or make a reservation if possible. We sat outside, beautiful scenery, and the inside looked nice as well. This is a great restaurant with great decor. I visited during lunch where they have happy hour 11 am to 5:30 pm and bites from 3 to 5:30 pm. The manager Eduardo came by and spoke to our group. The bartender Juliana was fantastic. Very patient and attentive. Juliana made the best Old Fashion I've had in a very long time. She recommended the red Snapper and she was not wrong! This dish did not disappoint and is now in my top 10 fish dinners of all time. Will I be back... YES! read more
Sept Late Post: Finally, I had a chance during HRW to try Relish at the new Memorial location. The HRW set menu had a good selection for the price. This location seems to be little more open and than originally in the River Oaks area but I don't recall if they had out seating but it was to hot to sit outside anyway. The bar area is really nice and open and I believe they have a brunch on Sundays. We arrived and it was busy but the waitress sat us right away as we had a reservation. At first we were seating in open traffic area small table but we requested a booth so they told us to wait until they cleaned of the table. Our waitress is at the next open booth and she was very attentive service was great! I ordered the crab cake appetizer which was really good to share with a friend. Also, tried the fried green tomatoes and the deviled eggs with fried chicken bites were a 10! Both equally savory and tasty. For my main entree I tried the Baked Eggplant Parmesan but it was lacking marinara sauce and flavor. But they were kind enough to allow me to swap out my meal for the linguine clam pasta dish and it was really good garlic white/wine flavors and pasta cooked to perfection. My friend ordered the roasted chicken which side of Mac & Cheese. I wouldn't ordered the chicken but I'm so glad she did so I can taste how good and juicy it was. I will be back to try more dishes especially since now this location is much closer to home for me to travel. Overall, good first impression and looking forward to trying the brunch and lunch menu.
