    Lentil soup
    Shanel S.

The service was EXCELLENT. Small intimate restaurant in a strip mall. Perfect for date night. The food fell flat. This was a Valentine's Day special menu. The lentil soup was surprisingly good with smoked duck. Crab cake was dry. Sauce made it easy to go down but it was dry Smoked salmon with deviled egg was good. But the mains, the red snapper was just eh. They steak was just eh. The dessert was a stuffed donut like thing... it was stale. Idk... I think I should give 3.5 but can't get that to the not good, dry and stale food.

Great cozy French bistro with great food, ambiance, and service. Highly recommend the FRICASSÉE DE VOLAILLE AU MORILLE! It was amazing and literally the reason I will come back. The dessert puff pastry was also great and the chocolate was perfect.

I always like this place. I constantly comes back for a meal since I like the food, service and ambiance. I was a little upset today since I wanted to get some ambience for my birthday. I brought a balloon but I asked couple times and I get a very limited help. Oh well, this is still a great place to go but not for if you want to do a little celebration for yourself.

This tiny restaurant does not disappoint. I've been wanting to try it for years and I finally did for an early birthday dinner. My aunt and I were very impressed with our experience. Make reservations! There are only 18 tables (some were 4 tops, so there are more tables if broken down to 2 seaters), and it gets very busy. We lucked out with a table in the corner by the kitchen. We were able to talk and I felt we were out of the way from the other tables. They also have a handful of tables outside. Parking is limited, but we were able to find a spot with a shirt walk to the entrance. We started with a glass of wine and looked over the menu. We settled on a couple appetizers to split. Of course, you can't go to a French restaurant and not get the escargot. In addition to that, we ordered a bowl of French onion soup. Both were phenomenal. The escargot was bubbling and buttery. The French onion soup was piping hot with a rich base and beautifully appointed with melted cheese. It was the best French onion soup I've ever had! They also serve bread and dipping oil. That was delicious as well. For our meal, I had the BŒUF À LA BOURGUIGNONNE. It's a beef stew dish they are known for, and I can see why. The meat is tender, the sauce is rich with carrots and mushrooms. It is served along side of egg noodles. Delicious! My aunt had the L'ENTRECÔTE-FRITES. It's a nicely prepared ribeye with garlic green beans and hand cut fries. I tasted hers and it was all very good. We both had enough to take home for another meal. Our server was attentive, helpful with menu suggestions, and prompt with the service. It was a perfect dining experience. Our bills was $186.00 before tip. This includes 4 glasses of wine, bread and oil, 2 appetizers, and 2 main dishes. I think that's very reasonable for a high quality dining experience. Before trying the restaurant, I read their reviews. One woman mentioned that someone who writes long reviews is typically not really a customer, but instead, an owner or a paid reviewer. This is not the case. If you follow me, you will see that I always write long reviews. I like to give a full written experience to anyone reading my reviews. That way you can see, start to finish, what I experienced. Well done, indeed. It's like I stepped into a cozy restaurant in Southern France. Highly recommend.

Went on a Wednesday night and it was very busy. Did not have reservations so they told us to wait 20 minutes for a table. Once seated, it took them another 30 minutes to check on us for our food orders and that was after we flagged someone down. Then the food took another 30 minutes to come out. We even skipped appetisers because it was taking so long. My duck was overcooked and tough and the beef stew was bitter. Took another 15 minutes to get us our bill. I understand that it was a busy night, but only running on two wait staff is not enough for an enjoyable experience.

    Shredded duck confit

A cozy restaurant alongside the road with ample parking. Drive slow because you may miss it. The restaurant has a small outdoor seating, and there are indoor seatings good for small groups. Service was good. Staff were friendly and attentive. I had the HRW lunch. I chose shredded duck confit for appetizer, house-smoked Atlantic salmon for entrée, and corn tres leches for dessert. The shredded duck confit was slightly salty, but it was a good dish to start. The Atlantic salmon was cooked perfectly. The smashed fingerling potatoes were fresh, and the hollandaise sauce paired well with the salmon. The asparagus was good. The corn tres leches was ok. It wasn't soggy but it was a little firm. The flavor was good. Overall the food was ok.

The ambiance of this hidden gem is so quaint. Once you walk in you feel like you're in a little part of Europe. The brick walls, wine bottles, brick oven, and small environment gives the restaurant a welcoming feeling. The food, service, and menu were wonderful. The perfect little date spot. Many locals with a homey vibe.

Great go to for French food in memorial area! Love their casual atmosphere and wine lists

This was such a cute restaurant! It looks like something that would be in Europe. Very intimate very small spot With a big brick/clay oven. No music but the space fills quickly with lively chatter from all the patrons so it's not awkward. All of the food was absolutely delicious especially the salad with the blueberry vinaigrette. And I went out of my comfort zone and tried some fish that wasn't salmon. I got the trout and it was delicious! My other favorite thing is that the staff is so courteous and polite it feels like fine dining even though the spot has a more casual feel to it. Would totally recommend to anyone wanting a nice relaxing date night or family dinner

There is something sacred about salt. It's in our tears and the sea. Too little in a dish and tastelessness ensues. Too much and ruin abounds. Ruin was abounding like a mofo in this place. Thanos himself had the hand on the salt in Bistro 555, spreading it around like he was making it salt rain. Seemed like it could have been ok - had they simply tasted the food. But they didn't. The wine list was pedestrian and a bet that patrons won't look up retail values of wines before pulling the trigger. I did indeed find one that retailed for $17 and was priced at $90 on the list. Naughty, naughty - especially when you know they ain't paying retail. I found a Pommard that fit the bill - less than 100% markup and of high quality. If you scrounge around, you may find the arbitrage. I did. And lastly, better tables sat empty for the duration of our stay - we asked for them and were declined. Restaurants underestimate their directors of first impressions' ability to communicate their stance on hospitality. This restaurant would sit empty inside the loop. Lucky for them, they have proximity to a bunch of timers with dulled taste buds that don't like to drive. Smart location and cutesy vibe can overcome a lot.

Red snapper on bed of risotto with asparagus

We were in the mood for French food and this was the closest place to our new home and fortunately able to make a last minute reservation on a Friday night. The restaurant is in a small nondescript strip center. However, the minute you walk in it's like entering a quaint bistro in France. It's a small, intimate restaurant where you can see the kitchen and the staff hard at work in the center. They start you off with some warm bread and herbed olive oil while you peruse the menu. We opted for the French onion soup and the beet and goat cheese salad to start, followed by the red snapper, a side of fries, and the profiteroles or cream puffs for dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious! The salad had very simple ingredients but the flavors combined were just perfect with the just the right amount of each ingredient for good balance. The French onion soup is creamier than most versions we've had with the sweetness from the onions coming through. The snapper came on a bed of rice that was cooked in broth or something because it had so much flavor. The fish was perfectly cooked and flaky with crispy skin with a delicious, creamy sauce with some seared asparagus. For dessert, the cream puffs came recommended and we can totally understand why! There were three cream puffs stuffed with vanilla ice cream and drizzled with dark chocolate with dollops of whipped cream and almond slivers for that satisfying crunch. All in all a delightfully wonderful meal. We will be back no doubt.

saumon aux rigatonis and prawn brochette

My parents and I absolutely love this place! We came here for dinner because the sushi place a few doors down was too busy, and there were no regrets. The service was very warm and well-timed, and the food was so fulfilling and gave a nice taste of the french country side. It is a little pricey, but it's definitely a great place to go on occasion. Also the atmosphere was 10/10. It is a small location so seating is limited but definitely recommend!

Cassolette de langouste sauce homard and portobello mushrooms

Bistro 555 is a really cozy little French bistro in the Briarforest area in Houston. It's a good spot for intimate dinners and small groups. Servers are attentive and accommodating but the kitchen is slow. The food more than compensates for that and totally worth the wait. Our favorite dishes so far have been: Les moules frites due rabelais - fresh cooked mussels in a tasty white wine sauce and fries on the side. Cassolette de langouste sauce homard - a Lobster pot pie in a creamy sauce with saffron rice They have free parking on their private parking lot along with the neighboring businesses.
