Annabelle was highly recommended and we made reservations during HRW. We were seated in the Sun room. Place is beautiful with an outdoor with a view to boot. We started with the French onion soup and deviled eggs. French onion soup was good with the appropriate amount for gruyere and bread and soup. The deviled eggs was their signature appetizer. It was good but not as silly as others we have had. The trout caviar gave it a nice pop and taste. For mains, we ordered the steak frites and short rib beef bouginon. Presentation-wise, the NY strip was sliced and had extras like rosemary butter, grilled garlic and onion. The bad is that it looked and tasted like a cheap cut of NY strip. There was sinew running halfway in the middle of the steak so made it tough to chew. I started discarding those pieces. The fries were delicious... and we ordered the truffle version with an upcharge. For the beef bouginon, the beef was tender but came in one big chunk. I've not see it served that way before. Beef was stringy and considering it's supposed to be short rib, it was lean IMO. The stew was decent with chunks of potato, carrot and pearl onions. For dessert, we ordered the Profilotores and Blueberry parfait. Thought the Profilotores was yummy! Paired with big scoops of ice cream makes it had to beat. The parfait was a soft cheesecake with big blueberry and sauce for toppings. It was a good choice... delicious as well. Overall, ambiance and service were great! The food esp the mains were a disappointment. Hope they spend a little more for a better cut of beef. Hard to justify going back unless somebody asks to go. I'm going to be doing 2 different reviews in one because I came here on 2 separate occasions within a week! Lunch: I came here for a bridal shower lunch, and they were able to easily accommodate our group of 7. First of all, this place has the cutest aesthetic for a girls' brunch/lunch and is located in such a great area. I ordered the "goldie lox" which was such a huge portion, and I was honestly barely able to finish it. The service was fantastic. I felt like the servers were very on top of checking up on us and refilling our waters. Dinner: I came here with a group of friends for Houston Restaurant Weeks. Their dinner menu had a lot of really good options, that we were honestly having a difficult time trying to choose a single option between the 1st and 2nd courses. My husband and I ended up getting different entrees so we could sample each other's. For the first course, we both got the caesar salad. Very solid caesar salad. For the second course, I got the beef short rib bourguignon and my husband got the Parisienne steak frites. For the third course, I got the profiteroles and my husband got the creme brulee. Everything was so delicious and the portions were huge. We left very full, which we were happy about. I'm glad we were able to come here for Houston Restaurant Weeks and try out their dinner courses. The food quality here is so good, and the vibes are just perfect for a date night or group setting. Also, they do validate your parking if you park in the garage! That's a huge plus. read more

Looks and tastes great! - deviled eggs - three eggs, looks great; tastes like normal deviled eggs with caviar on top. - Baguette with Jamon de Bayonne & Raclette - pretty presentation and delicious! - BEEF SHORT RIB BOURGUIGNON - this was the highlight of our meal. Meat is tender, very flavorful, finished the bowl. - Parisienne steak frites - nice presentation, tender steak cooked to perfection. - crème brulee- another big portion, definitely meant to be shared. Tried Annabelle Brasserie for the first time during Houston Restaurant Weeks and really enjoyed the experience. First of all, the inside is stunning! They have indoor and outdoor seating, plus a small bar area. And of course, the pink truck out front is a fun photo op. I had the short rib. It was good, although I'm not sure it's something I would order again. But between the beautiful space, great service, and overall vibe, I'd come back and try something else on the menu. This place is really, really pretty. I love all of the interior design. I love the sunroom. I love how all of the waiters and waitress are coordinated in attire.. very clean and nice looking. The service was very good. I really loved our waitress. She did a great job Job and ensuring that we had everything we needed. The food was about eight out of 10. A small lack in seasoning. With the rib dinner that I had was really good and tender. The potatoes were really good. I wish we had more. I got a side of brussels sprouts . They were really good. The drinks were really sweet. So if you like sweet stuff, you'll be fine unfortunately I didn't like the lovebird had way too much sugar so then I got the lemon drop and I got another martini. Both were fine. Loved this place. Stopped by on a weekend afternoon for a lunch at the bar after an astros game. Bartenders were excellent at cocktails. The place is breathtaking! The attention to detail with the restaurant decor was the first thing that caught my eye. From the bright floral designs to the pink truck and large teddy bears, they did not miss the mark with their interior design. There are plenty of spaces inside and out that are perfect for photo ops. The restaurant is boutique size, however the tall ceilings and decor adds an element that doesn't make it feel so small. Our waitress was Diana and she was amazing! Prompt, attentive and had a pleasant attitude. The manager George was also present and did a great job checking in to make sure our experience was great. The aesthetics of this place are GORGEOUS. From the outside to the inside, even the bar! Which is where we sat. Chad and another guy were the bartenders and their service was impeccable. They were very attentive and polite. We came for restaurant week and had no reservations so they sat us at the full service bar which was great. I got the French onion soup but I wasn't a huge fan. It was something TOO sweet about the soup. Either the onions themselves or maybe too much sherry or wine. The beef short rib was to die for. Very tender and the pearl onions were my favorite part. Love the decor which is a big reason why we picked this place for dinner. Our waiter was outstanding and helped us pick items on the menu. My husband and I came here for Valentine's Day brunch and overall we enjoyed ourselves. That said, I would say this is one of the places you visit for aesthetics more than food. If you are looking for somewhere to celebrate and get cute photo ops this is it. We started the pastry basket and tried three different croissants, all were really fresh, flaky, and delicious. Shown is my night in paris which is gin, kavendee and I think some proceco For my meal we split a 1/2 dozen oysters( those island) , and I then progressed to Devine's eggs( with roe) and a muchroom, chestnut and doinich Bourgogne, I skipped dessert but my whole fe and daughter ordered crème brûlée and some pastry I forget the name of. Annabelle Brasserie was such a pleasant surprise -- the food was absolutely exquisite. Every dish was flavorful and beautifully prepared. The sides do run on the smaller side, so they're best shared between one to two people depending on your appetite, but wow were they delicious. The real standout was the steak for two -- truly mouthwatering and easily a 10/10. Perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned, and something I would absolutely come back for again. First, the decor was so impressive with a cross between a fancy French restaurant in Paris and the Bellagio in Vegas. Truly stunning and a in beautiful, growing center in Houston. Next, the service was exceptional. We had the best server who we never had to look for and made great recommendations. Very pleased. Last, I loved everything I ate and drank. The truffle fries are one of the best in town and I also really liked the deviled eggs. We enjoyed everything we tried. My family made a reservation and I would recommend to do that since it is a popular place! For an appetizer, we got a baguette with cheese and ham. It was super delicious and it was fun watching the server spread the cheese! I ordered the "Goldie Lux" which is a bagel with smoked salmon, chive cream cheese and potatoes. So, this place has a lot of hype because of how cute and girlie it is, and I won't lie it's freaking adorable and I felt awesome walking in. Service is amazing, and everyone was super nice and attentive and very smiley. However, what lets this place down is the food is just meh. And maybe I would've given it a higher rating because the experience was great, but you'd have to pay for parking or valet and the food is not cheap, so with all that in mind, it gets knocked down rating wise. We got the cheese and break as an app, and the bread was rock hard, which I didn't appreciate. Cheese was yummy though. And then we got steak frites,, French fries, and salmon. The French fries were super basic like nothing special. Also the salmon was really bland. There were a lot of peas in that dish, but the sauce sitting at the bottom was not enough of a flavor profile to make the dish stand out. The best part of the dish might've been the mushrooms. The food and atmosphere is pretty good. Our waiter was attentive as well but I don't like restaurants that upcharge sort of sneakily. For example, there's a 3% service charge which is on a small sign on the front but not on the menu nor is it said to us. These are like California practices, wouldn't expect it in Texas. Also, the water is bottled and priced at $6 per bottle- I can't recall if free tap water was an option. A waiter refilled the bottles for us without speaking to us so in total we ended up having 4 bottles and were charged $24 for water. I totally thought the bottles were just fancy decor and they were filling it with tap water I did not notice they were sealed bottles. They do validate parking in the garage though but just a heads up if you're coming here a $50 meal would end up being way more. read more

When coming here, it's definitely for the pictures! The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. The food was very mediocre. I got a Salmon Lox Bagel - pretty simple. The bagel was a bit too chewy for my liking although it was toasted. My friend ordered the avocado tartine, basically an avocado toast. It's good, but it's just a regular avocado toast you can get anywhere. The parfait was a miss. The yogurt was too tart. Annabelle Brasserie is a French restaurant located off of Allen Parkway in Autry Park area. We decided to come here for Houston Restaurant week because we live across the street and have heard a lot of good things about this place. Let me start by saying this review is based off of the HRW menu and we will be back to try their regular menu. The HRW menu offered a lot of choices for a very good dinner price of $55. It included an appetizer, entree and dessert. We had a reservation for 6:30 PM on a Friday and by 7/7:30 Pm, the restaurant was completely booked. I do want to note there is a 3% operation fee added to all bills and there is a sign at the front desk that states this very clearly. Parking: they have sled parking in the Autry garage. We didn't park there so I don't know the price. There is also a valet in the garage next to the restaurant. Also did not get the price but I know it's not free. There is free street parking a block away if you are willing to walk. Ambiance: when you walk into Annabelle, you are greeted by high vaulted ceilings and big glass windows which lets a lot of natural light into the restaurant. They have a main dining room, a sunroom which we sat in, and a patio. It was a little warm for patio seating but the patio overlooks Buffalo Bayou. The restaurant did get very noisy when all the tables were occupied for dinner and the chairs were a little uncomfortable and had a hard chair bottom. The decorations inside were beautiful and French themed! Service: the service here was very good. U never had to once ask for water and our sever was very good in answering all of the questions we had about to food and drinks. Drinks: my girlfriend ordered the Night in Paris cocktail which was gin based and I ordered a Carajillo. Both drinks were delicious and paired well with our meals. Food: we ordered from the HRW menu which included an appetizer, entree and dessert. My girlfriend got the Beet Salad, Branzino, and Crème Brûlée. I got the Deviled eggs, Steak Frites with truffle fries and the Profiteroles. Beet Salad: the beet salad had two types of beets with burrata and black truffle. It came with some micro greens that we couldn't identify so those went untouched. The beets were seasoned well and they gave a lot of burrata so this was a hearty appetizer. The truffle didn't add much to the dish but was a nice touch because my girlfriend liked truffle. Deviled eggs: this was my least favorite dish of the night. The filling of the deviled eggs was very grainy and it tasted like the eggs had been sitting premade in the fridge due to the egg white being a little tough. The trout roe also didn't add much to this dish. I would skip this next time if I came back. Branzino: the Branzino was flaky but it was on the oilier side and the veggies that came with it got soaked in the oil as well so my girlfriend didn't eat the whole dish. I tired it and while the fish was soft, the oil on the plate made it tough to eat more than a couple of bites. Steak Frites: the steak frites was very good. I got it medium rare with a side of truffle fries. The truffle fries were a $6 up-charge so keep that in mind when ordering the fries. The steak was cooked perfectly and had had an herb butter on the top of it that made the steak very flavorful. The truffle fries were called that because of the truffle oil added to them. The fries went topped with chunks of Parmesan and this paired well with the truffle flavor. I would come back and order this dish again. Crème brûlée: this dessert was a miss. The custard filling was still warm when it got to the table so it tasted like it just came out of the oven. It was very eggy and warm. This did not pair well with the hard caramelized top layer unfortunately. I would not order this again. Profiteroles: these were amazing. I would definitely come back for these. The pastry paired well with the vanilla ice cream. The party was soft yet firm and the chocolate sauce was a nice touch to the dish. It came with three pastries which was very filling. I would highly recommend this dessert. Overall, Annabelle had an awesome atmosphere and lovely, lively environment. The drinks were a hit for us and while some dishes were misses, we still enjoyed our total dining experience. I would come give Annabelle a try especially for the price of the HRW menu. Dined here again for a birthday duo dinner with my dear friend on a Monday night. It wasn't busy at all, we got a booth overlooking the restaurant and the windows on Allen Parkway. The ambiance and decor are of course 10/10. This is what you booked for. It's an eye catcher, first you eat with your eyes and feast on the venue itself. I was not displeased nor will you be. Our waitstaff was courteous and kind, great training, he handled our banter well although I could tell he was over the day lol. I ordered a glass of Sancerre and he brought a mostly empty bottle to pour my glass. I wonder how old the wine was given it was a Monday night and not much traffic that I could see... I rolled the wine in my mouth and it took a little while to emerge but the taste was still there. I accepted it, which is fine, I have never have had a pour from such an empty bottle before - maybe I'm spoiled or they usually bring me the glass of wine straight if the bottle is nearly finished - either way all was well. The food, I was impressed. I have dined here before close to when they opened and the food seemed to have improved! Escargot- 6/10 just felt like it was missing someone in dimension of flavor. Fell flat, I wouldn't order again. Bread was also a tad too crispy for bigger bites without assaulting your upper palate with scratches. Seared Octopus - 8/10 very yummy, cooked well. The tomatoes salad accompanying it was delicious. Missing just a little something to take it to 10 - fat component is there as was the salt... maybe a little acid? Seared Branzino - 8.75/10 oh goodness this was so divine and filling. If you want healthy options THIS IS IT. My plate was beautiful overflowing with vegetables. Here we got the balance of the salt, fat, acids, seasoning... it was rich! Popping off my tastebud, made me want to roll my eyes back. Can't go wrong with this plate. My friend had the salmon, she said it was delicious and cooked to perfection. But looking at my plate and her plate... I liked mine better! lol. Brussels - 8/10. Sans all the cheese for me. I'm a health food nut and I'm lactose intolerant, so fighting past the cheeses and creams on the vegetables can be a battle. But once I dug to the bottom of the bowl for the cheese-less morsels I was delighted. Well cooked, not too charred or overly soft. Potatoes - 7/10. With a grain of salt take my rating. I literally had a bite because I was scared of the cheese component here - but it was velvety smooth and yummy although not the 10/10 potatoes they were good. We also got birthday cheesecakes with candles to celebrate the occasion. I couldn't eat mine, it's the thought that counts. I had a pleasant evening, would I come back? Absolutely!
