Came here for lunch after the rodeo and sadly I wasn't impressed at all. The ambiance/aesthetic is nice and the service was great however the food fell short in my opinion. I'm not sure if I would return.
Mother's Day Reservation @3:30pm When I say OVER RATED....It is an understatement. Please don't let the hype fool you. Please don't waste your hard earned money on poor service and cafeteria food.....This place is a glammed up Luby's and should be an insult to French cuisine. "Fine dining" with 1 star customer service and poor food quality... Hot drinking water...This was the first sign that things would be terrible. We asked the waitress why the water was hot and she replied "we didn't have time to cool it." .....QUE, COMO??? We were all appalled when that came out of her mouth. At that moment we should have left...Our waitress gave us the impression that we were inconveniencing her. Inattentive, unwelcoming, and rude.... Table was improperly set, half of us had silverware and the rest of us had to hunt down the waitress to get more. Other tables had flower decorations while ours was missing....sign of poor attention to detail. Coca Cola was flat. We asked the waitress if she could check on the carbonation and she never did. She said she did but I know a lie when I hear it....If you aren't drinking alcohol, they don't care if your coke is flat. My sister's lemonade or should I say "lemon water" was never refilled despite the waitress having multiple opportunities to check in on us. There were also multiple tables that had issues with the service. A man at the table behind us received his food but it sat there getting cold as he had to track down the waitress for silverware. Another outside table left prior to receiving their meal and another table of 2 sent their food back to the kitchen. We saw the male manager come over to their table to attempt to rectify the issue....THIS IS NOT A MOTHER'S DAY ISSUE, THIS IS A SYSTEM'S ISSUE. While we waited for our food we saw 2 employees taking shots with customers. Wait, so you mean to tell me that you have time to take shots but y'all can't make sure our drinking water is cold???? LOL! Unbelievable... This type of behavior creates a tacky restaurant culture. When ordering our food the waitress got snappy with my dad when he asked what was in the seafood pot pie. She replied "It's a roux" with an attitude... This visit was so emotionally exhausting. I have been to sooooo many places and this visit has really done a number on me. I'm drained just writing about this. Sighs... Remember that hot water I mentioned earlier? Well she finally brought out some ice after she took the water jug lol. "Here's some ice..." we were all like ummmmm too late sweetheart. Food finally arrived....I will say, the food came out fast! That was the only good thing as we couldn't wait to eat and get the heck out of dodge!!! We had popcorn shrimp, baked oysters, airline chicken, stuffed salmon, steak salad and seafood pot pie. Meh...for the prices we paid, they should be ashamed. At the end of our meal, my sister felt water leaking on her from the ceiling. We looked up and they had what looked like a silver floor transition strip attached to a vent and the water was seeping from it. I can't make this up...And yes, all of the above occurred during the same visit. What this tells me is that the owners either lack pride in their restaurant or have become hands off for other reasons. The staff seem very disjointed and struggle working as a team. I spoke with one of the managers up front and let her know I would be writing a review due to our disappointing experience. She was kind and apologized. I asked if they were short staffed and she said no it's because it's Mother's Day. Mother's Day is on the calendar every year and the management team has 364 days to properly create a plan that mitigates risk, while enhancing the customer experience. Y'all are in reactive/ survival mode, just trying to get to the close of day.... As a result, your customers have become the recipients of paying the cost, not just financially but emotionally. Please don't use Mother's Day as an excuse to drop the ball.... If you properly plan you won't have to be in survival mode on days such as today. Again...THIS IS NOT A MOTHER'S DAY ISSUE, THIS IS A SYSTEM'S ISSUE.
I love the idea of the place and the atmosphere, but the music was sleepy, the air conditioner was drippy (on me and my food) and my food was heavy. It was a large portion size and the servers were nice.
One of the few place that no matter how many time me you go doesn't disappoint. Service and food both amazing as always. The wine selection and specifically the pricing on it make this place a must for anyone
Came here for brunch a couple of times and we had reservations, which I'd definitely recommend. Parking is basically nonexistent. There's valet, but if you're thinking you're going to casually find a spot, think again. We ordered a good spread: crab fingers, baked oysters, wine, plenty of drinks, and the seafood pot pie. Food has been solid across the board. Nothing disappointed, and everything tasted well-executed. My main issue is the space. The restaurant is small af and the tables are extremely close together. It creates a level of intimacy with neighboring tables that I personally could do without. If you value a little breathing room while you eat and talk, that's something to keep in mind. Overall, the food and drinks were good and it's a nice spot for brunch, but the tight seating and parking situation take away from the experience a bit. I'd still go back, just with the right expectations.
I enjoyed coming here to have a quick brunch with friends. The food was tasty, would definitely like to try more of their menu! The ambience was nice while offering great natural lighting. Staff were fantastic and super friendly.

French restaurants aren't hard to come by in Houston but GOOD FRENCH restaurants are another story! A'Bouzy was just that, divine in atmosphere, tasty in all aspects! We had the caviar potato bites to begin with and my main course was the escargot (best I've had in Houston)! We celebrated a fellow friend's bday; although it was late, we were given exceptional service.
I had a great experience at A'Bouzy this weekend. The restaurant was having its periodic special of dozen gulf oysters for $3. The kitchen was backed up and we were told - so we ordered two dozen at the onset of brunch. There is a limit of one dozen per person for the special - after which the oysters are full price. On the website, escargot was listed on the menu, however, it was not listed on the brunch menu. We asked our waiter, Isidro, and he checked with the chef - and they were able to prepare the item which we enjoyed. We also had the French onion soup - it was very flavorful. I felt like the portion was small, however, personally, for soup, this is actually my preferance, as I find that French onion soup can be quite filling when I want other things. It came with a small salad. To end the meal, we had the seafood pot pie, another recommendation from Isidro. What a treat! Additionally we had two bottles of very reasonably priced champagne. We came in for the oyster special and stayed for the great brunch. Note: There is no bread service - but a popcorn starter which I find fun and a bit different. It was a lively scene. Lots of small groups that appeared to be celebrating something. Really a fun/casual vibe. I really appreciated the attentiveness of our waiter.
I visited A'Bouzy with a group of eight ladies, and we decided to try their champagne and caviar pairing; it did not disappoint. Everything was already set up when we arrived, which made the whole experience flow smoothly. This was my first-time trying caviar, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but they paired it so well. It came with mini pancakes, cream cheese, red onions, chopped eggs, and capers, and each caviar was matched perfectly with a different champagne. Our server was wonderful and attentive. We also ordered the large charcuterie board, and it was amazing. The cocktails and wines were really good too. They offer valet parking for just $6, which was convenient. It was a very classy and elegant experience in which I thoroughly enjoyed.
I visited A'Bouzy for the first time and had such a great experience. It was a busy night and the bar was packed, so our table wasn't ready when we arrived. We waited at the bar and grabbed drinks, which made the wait easier. Once we sat down, the night really picked up. I ordered the deviled eggs, the marinated 5 spice shrimp pasta, the diver scallops with risotto, and the donuts. Every dish was delicious and full of flavor. The scallops and risotto were the standout for me. The service was amazing. The food was amazing. The drinks were amazing. The whole place had really good vibes even with how busy it was. There is valet and there is also street parking around the back. I would definitely come back again!
Wow am I late to the party but I finally visited Abouzy! This is a sibling restaurant to succulent. It features a beautiful interior with a outdoor option for seating. I was raining on the day I went so indoor seating for me! This was my friend and my first time here and it just so happened that the oysters were on happy hour! I ordered some despite not liking raw oysters because they were 50 cents! And ya know what, I liked it! Our waiter was very helpful in helping us navigate the menu. I ordered off the restaurants weeks menu and my friend ordered off the standard menu. Now my dish, that I ordered I did not love. But my friends dish the seafood pot pie was fire! Wow I should have ordered that instead if was really good. We also ordered drinks and they were reasonably priced and perfectly prepared. Now although I did not love my dish I would definitely come back due to the good service!
I'm not from Texas but the shrimp and grits are enough to make me wanna go back on a monthly basis. They are absolutely a must try! They were packed and I see why, but they actually get you in super fast. They have really good mimosas as well

We absolutely love a'Bouzy! It has been our local for years. The service is great and the menus are always varied with something for everyone. We absolutely love the fresh entrees and food. The complimentary popcorn is divine. The atmosphere is always upbeat with an amazing vibe. The restaurant has been going above and beyond with the specially themed happy hour menus this year. We have loved every one of them. We are very impressed with the World Cup watch parties. Every staff member made sure we were in the best position to watch the matches. They even accommodated 14 of us at the last minute!!! The sound and video is incredible. You will love it too. Trust me. read more

We couldn't stay away! We were back there yesterday and it was as good as ever. It's completely understandable why there's such a crowd there. The food is great, the service is warm and friendly, and the atmosphere is welcoming. We will be back! read more
Amazing Seafood! Made reservations ahead of time on open table and was able to get seated right away. They serve a bag of complimentary popcorn as well. For drinks, I got the non-alcoholic prickly pear with tajin on the rim. It was actually really refreshing and fruity. I can see it being paired well with tequila as well. Starters, we got a dozen of the east coast raw oysters. They were quite fresh and came with all the fixings like cocktail sauce, vinegar and etc. Also got the blue crab fingers, which was deliciously drenched in some garlic butter. Good amount too, maybe 20 of them + side of french bread. And ordered the moules & frites aka mussels. The white wine butter sauce was light and had nice flavors as well. For my entree, i'm glad i got the seafood pot pie. Crust was nice and airy and inside was filled with so much flavors. Heavily seasoned and came with shrimp, crawfish and redfish! All cooked very well. I like the accompany of the side of salad and bread as well. Used that bread to dip in the blue crab butter sauce! Waiter was friendly and checked up on us a good amount of times. Plenty of seating indoors and i believe outdoors as well. Restrooms - clean Parking - Valet $6, they accept Credit Card as well Overall a nice seafood brunch spot! read more

Great spot for a patio brunch. Can't beat bubbles and delicious food. Definitely feels like a celebratory spot, especially when they pop your champ bottle and yell "A'Bouzy!". Lots of fun. Helpful and friendly staff that is open to gibing their recommendations. We started with some spritzes and their breakfast breads board, then moved on to the mimosa service and some eggs/protein. All in all, will certainly be back to enjoy the expansive patio on one of the rare Houston nice weather days. Parking - valet or street. read more
I enjoyed a lovely brunch at A'Bouzy this past Sunday. We surprisingly were able to walk in on Easter Sunday and snag a covered table on the patio with no reservation. Our waiter was very prompt once we were seated and attentive throughout brunch. A'Bouzy has a bag of popcorn on the table to snack on while enjoying the view and waiting for the meal to arrive. Which is a nice touch. For drinks we ordered and an aperol spritz and Irish coffee. Both drinks were made perfectly! For food we enjoyed deviled eggs, the baked oysters, crab cake and French toast. Our food came out fairly quick which we were very happy about my favorite item was probably the crab cake as it has so much flavor and the hollandaise paired very nicely with it. read more

We were informed upfront that there would be a long wait for the Gulf oysters due to the 50-cent special, which was understandable since it was packed during rodeo season. While waiting, we ordered happy hour appetizers, drinks, and a few items from the main menu. The appetizers were delicious and easily the highlight of the meal, though the cocktails were just okay. The oysters arrived after about an hour, but they were gritty with noticeable sand and small shell fragments. Even during busy service, oysters should be properly cleaned -- it was disappointing to have to spit out shell with nearly every bite. I overheard the manager mention to another table that the owner was helping shuck, which shows effort, but quality control seemed to suffer. The manager checked on nearly every table around us (including those seated after us) but never stopped by ours. Since we weren't checked on again until the oysters arrived, there wasn't an opportunity to adjust the timing of our entrées. They came out shortly after and were unfortunately mediocre; we only had a few bites before boxing them up. Overall, I'd return for happy hour and à la carte appetizers, but the full dinner experience fell short this time. read more

This place NEVER disappoints! The food is outstanding, service is always pleasant, and the ambiance is just right. We like to go for caviar on 1st Fridays, but I have also been to celebrate birthdays and just because it was a Wednesday. They have a nice wine list and an array of items on the menu, you're sure to find somwthing you like or may want to order and share. On my most recent visit I found out they have wine/ spirit dinners also and I look forward to attending at some point. S/O to this special little gem nestled just off Westheimer... a'Bouzy was an absolutely amazing experience! I started at the bar, where Carlos was polite, professional, and personable. Once I was seated, my waitress, Sarai, was sweet, attentive, and equally professional. The food came out hot, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The drinks were top-quality and well-crafted. Overall, it was a 10/10 experience. Valet was only $6, which is very reasonable for Houston. I'll definitely be returning! read more

I'm at A'Bouzy A LOT. Every first Monday they have a dozen oysters for $.50 each (you can only get a dozen per person) and while gulf oysters aren't my preference ever anywhere, at A'Bouzy they're cleaned perfectly and they're a proper size. Those big boogery filthy gulf oysters are NOT what's on special here! Champagne is a must. Duh. The charcuterie....ima go crazy with it every time and finish wishing I had more. I also order the daily special (2 adult size entrees that change daily, and a bottle of wine from $39-$69 depending on the daily special) very often. I've had brunch, dinner, and happy hour (only available on Thursday's with a different menu of offerings every week) at A'Bouzy and I have NEVER left unsatisfied. read more

Our party of 4 arrived at a'Bouzy for a Houston Restaurant Weeks lunch on a Saturday at 11:30am and found a'Bouzy to be dreadfully HOT indoors. They sat us at a table between two large floor fans ... the fans were so strong a menu blew off our table. We asked to be reseated, which they did, next to a birthday party table, and the back of one of the guest chairs at the table was literally touching our table. Our table was also immediately next to the door leading to the patio, so every time the door opened we were greeted with a blast of HOT Houston wind. Our waiter was amazing, and very helpful with our 2 friends who have never been to a'Bouzy. The food, albeit not the menu we wanted, was excellent - the shrimp and grits dish was exceptional. We live only 2 blocks behind a'Bouzy so we usually just walk over, but since it was a very hot day and we had 2 friends in "dressy" apparel, we drove ... AMPLE parking in the very large lot, but the restaurant REQUIRES you to use their valet parking in their lot (but they neither have signage, nor tell you that it is a $6 charge to valet). Upon leaving, we waited for the valet driver to back my car from its space and the attendant then informed me of the $6 charge. I handed him a $20 bill ... no change, so I went inside for change. Clearly it was a great imposition to the hostess (who was simply standing there with no guests other than me near her). 3 minutes later, she grumpily handed my my change and I paid the $6 fee for the forced valet. I will say that the evening staff is more friendly and accommodating. The ONLY pleasant person we encountered on this visit was our waiter (Matthew). Not sure if we'll be back anytime soon, even though it is quite literally 3 streets behind us. Our friends loved the food, hated the staff, and were frustrated with the mandated valet parking. Tough for me to recommend this place right now ... many many other worthwhile places to visit. Try HARDER a'Bouzy! read more

A'bouzy is a fun French restaurant centered around sparkling wine (primarily champagne). While this is a major feature of the restaurant, it is not the only thing. There is a large menu with many option but we usually gravitate towards the appetizers. The pommes frites (French fries) our incredible and sometimes we will go to A'bouzy for just the pommes frites and a cocktail (espresso martini is our go to). They come with a duck fat dipping sauce that is unparalleled. We also enjoyed the popcorn shrimp and truffled mushroom ravioli. While we normally do a more casual dining experience here, you can do a very elevated and expensive dining experience if you please. Of note- there is complementary valet parking on site. read more

I love the vibe of this place! I'd definitely classify it more as a brunch spot than anything else. I went for dinner and just didn't enjoy it as much. The service is solid, though. Just a heads-up--it gets pretty busy, so make a reservation and be prepared for a bit of noise. As for the food: Morning pastries: 6/10 They were okay--not really my thing. Some were a bit dry or hard, which was kind of a letdown. Duck confit (dinner): 7.5/10 The flavors were there, but the duck itself was overcooked, which made parts of it dry and chewy. Calamari: 9/10 Super flavorful, especially with the sauce. My only complaint is the vinegary smell--it was a bit much for me. Tuna tartare: 10/10 So fresh, and the flavors just work. I've been here and couple of times and this is a solid brunch spot for sure. The dining room and patio is always bustling and lively. I will say the distance between tables is very intimate but manageable. Despite the busy environment, the staff is attentive and efficient. The drinks menu is electronic, so please forgive my lack of recall. It was great and the waiter was kind enough to replace it after an insect flew in it. Came in for Sunday Brunch. This place was packed but thankfully we made reservations. Be sure you have your beat brunch outfit on because people were dressed to impress. They menu had a great variety for brunch. I ordered the coffee cake and a salmon caesar to eat. Both were great. Only negative was the parking...the valet line took ages to get through. The food here is really tasty! The last time I came it was just drinks but this time got the full experience. The patio was lovely and they accommodated our large party very well. The drinks were still great. The fried appetizer shrimp and the poboy are different and I was disappointed bc the app persuaded the entree decision the shrimp was seasoned differently when the server said it would be the same. So that sucked but over all everything was great and will definitely be coming back for brunch. read more

I tried this restaurant as a part of Eat Drink HTX and got the dinner deal for $25. It included an appetizer, a main dish, and popcorn to start off your meal. The popcorn felt a little random but was a fun unique feature. Both my friend and I got the baked oysters for our appetizer and they were phenomenal. Huge oysters and generous toppings. For my main dish I got the blackened redfish. I loved the sauce, it was very rich and buttery. The spinach was also delicious. I thought that the fish itself and the polenta could have used a little more seasoning. Overall, the food was great for the price we paid. I would go back if it is on Eat Drink HTX again next year. read more

Girls brunch at A'Bouzy was a success! When you arrive, I recommend paying for the $6 valet (they take credit cards) instead of searching for your own parking. When you walk into the main dining room, you will see bubbles hanging from the ceiling- it's beautiful! Our service was spectacular throughout our visit. Our group of 5 ordered some appetizers (coffee cake, mini kolaches, and crab fingers). The espresso butter with the coffee cake was top notch. I also ordered coffee which came out in a French press and was good and strong! Overall, great visit! read more

We came here for girls brunch on a weekend. Located in River Oaks, free street parking is very limited and the restaurant only has paid valet available. The interior features a stylish blend of modern and classic elements, with a nice color palette that includes deep blues, golds, and neutrals. Although we had a reservation, the restaurant was bustling and we ended up waiting at the bar for about 10 minutes before our table was ready. The wine menu features an extensive and diverse selection of both domestic and international wines by the glass and bottle. Our table ordered a bottle of champagne and a bottle of rosé to share. For appetizers, we shared deviled eggs and honey siracha slab bacon. I'm a fan of both apps, especially the flavor combo of blue cheese and caramelized thick cut bacon. For the main, I ordered eggs Benedict, which sadly was pretty mid and disappointing. Overall, I enjoyed my brunch for the company and the friendly service. I can understand why some might be drawn to the lively atmosphere and the experience of waiters popping bottles and shouting "A'Bouzy". However, with a markup of 30%+ on the bottles compared to store prices and the food being only average, the place seems a bit overrated for what you pay. read more
Starting with the service, it was very good. Our waiter was very attentive. They sat in a spot that we wanted near the patio came and checked on us frequently. They had some nice music playing not too loud some jams. Also, it was our first time being looked pretty good suggestions and descriptions of the different dishes. The drink we got with a fresh margarita I believe it's tequila, chambord, and line. It's an amazing drink. I could drink these and I'm a cognac drinker mind you I can drink a lot of these. It was delicious. The blue crab fingers were really good sauce really good so good that my date saved it and put it inside of the blackened shrimp and cheesy grits which really didn't eat it. The blackened the grits were good by themselves already, but that sauce from those crab fingers really good. The eight hour braze, pork belly and eggs was OK. It was tender, but I really expected braising gravy since it was supposed to be braised. It really tasted like they just put store-bought sweet barbecue sauce on top of it. It wasn't really that good but very tender; the eggs and hashbrowns were fine. They're good overall a really really good experience. I'm probably going to return soon. read more

Book more in advanced of the date and time that you want, or call when it's not their busy meal hours (10a-11a, 2p-5p). If it's not avail on opentable, it's not likely to be available there since they have the same information you do.

The interior makes you feel like you need to be dress nicely, but I don't believe there is an official dress code. Our party was dressed very casual when we visited and had no issues!

I went on Thursday, 6:30. I did have reservations, but there were plenty of tables available. If you really want outdoor seating during these nice nights, I would make a reservation just to be sure.
