I met a colleague here for a business lunch. I had been here once before but it had been quite a while ago. I remember not being wowed but I figured I would approach this visit with an open mind. The place is cute with pretty good parking. Service was on par. I opted for the $16 cheese burger and fries, see photo. It was okay. The burger was cooked to a proper medium as requested. However the burger didn't really shine through the tomato onion lettuce and bun. It was there but I could only kind of taste it. The fries left even more to be desired. My visit to Hungry's today was elevated dining that was also family friendly. They care for the little things, like the warmed dressing on the greens that blended nicely with the feta. We tried Hungry's because we were hungry....badomp bomp!!! The menu here is a bit slender and pricey if you're looking for a simple, affordable fare. We ate here for breakfast and then again for dinner. One of the highlights here is that they appear to be farm to table and have presentation of the food on the plate, nailed. At breakfast, I asked our waitress if there was a meal with egg, bacon and a pancake or waffle. She said there was not. So we ordered the 3 egg plate with bacon, potatoes and fruit. We also ordered the waffle. She came back and asked how we wanted the eggs cooked that come with the waffle??? What? I asked if we don't get the eggs if that would change the price and she said no. I was frustrated at this point! The food arrived and the fruit on both our plates was fresh and delicious. The waffle was ok but was cold. The egg on both of our plates was overcooked. The potatoes were great! I'm sad to say that I failed to take a picture of our food for breakfast. For dinner, we had a rather large party and they were able to accommodate us. I ordered the margarita pizza with pepperoni and regular crust. I also ordered the tuna tartare as an appetizer that never came. The pizza was pretty good. My mom ordered the chicken fried chicken and Brussels sprouts as an appetizer. The Brussels sprouts were WAY overcooked. She liked the chicken fried chicken. Getting our check was another ordeal. We waited almost 30 minutes to get our check. Overall, the food was ok. Wait staff need to learn timing of appetizers, the menu and when help is needed to close out a party. Also, there was a smell of a mop bucket or sewer smell. It was very faint because my mom couldn't smell it, but I have a sensitive sense of smell. Highlights are that the place has a relaxed environment and wasn't too loud or busy. The fruit was fresh and the pizza was good. This is a very casual but brunch worthy spot. I love the open concept dining. You can look directly into the kitchen and watch them work. The crowd was mixed, from families, friends, hipsters and girlfriends. The best part is that its connected to a plant based restaurant. Everyone is happy and has their own menu. The location on Woodway has very poor, slow service and the food is average at best. The staff is extremely unfriendly and doesn't pay attention. I had two ask two times to get a straw and the waiter still didn't bring one to me. When the restaurant isn't busy, the service is still very slow. The food has been good in the past and I've been very appreciative of the vegan/vegetarian option they had. However, in the last month to two months they have changed their happy hour and regular menu at least three times. I adjusted for dinner on 2 occasions. The first occasion being told that they could not make the dish I used to get and then the second time, the waitress was so kind and asked for me and they were able to make the dish. My most recent visit for breakfast was the last straw. I go specifically for the vegan tofu migas. The best vegan breakfast dish I can find Houston. And they took it OFF THE MENU! The waitress was kind again (same waitress) and asked for me but I guess the kitchen said they could not make it. I proceeded to ask if there were any other vegan vegetarian options and the only option was avocado toast! Sorry! I do not eat out for avocado toast. I can make that at home. So I took my husband and parents to snooze where I can customize just about anything with tofu. All that said...I am kindly asking management to bring back vegan breakfast options or vegetarian options with out egg. My husband used to patron this restaurant at least 2-3 times a month. I also take my friends there for HH regularly but that will change unfortunately. read more

I used to frequent this place once a week until they closed down HeartBeet. In the last 2 months I have stopped by at this location and although their plant-based options are a bit pricey I don't mind it. Hence why I was totally fine supporting HB from before. However my gripe is every single time when you pay in cash they're always short changing you. As if it's not already horrific they charge you an additional fee to put your food into their to-go bag. If you would like to pay in dollars, please stay away from this establishment unless you want them to stiff you often. Or be sure to bring several pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters. Hungry's at Memorial, you should allow your patrons to decide if they want to leave a tip or not. Do not automatically assume they owe you cashiers a single penny. read more

Stopped by for brunch and would never go again. The $8 fries were terrible - limp, cold, bland. The spinach dip was okay but also bland. The margherita pizza had a strange texture. A resounding 5 stars, and here's why: This review is as hot off the press as can be, as I just put my fork down from finishing my leftovers from my last visit. Background: my family catered meals from Hungry's when I was younger, so perhaps I took it for granted. It wasn't until I moved into the neighborhood last year that I started driving by this Hungry's, and every time, I'd make a mental note to give it another try. This exercise went on for a year, until just a few weeks ago. Impromptu lunch date, and we were trying to decide where to go. "Hey, we've been meaning to try Hungry's!" So we pull up, it's barely 11 am, and we're seated right away. What a pleasant surprise to be handed a regular menu as well as a vegan menu from their sister restaurant next door, Heartbeet. [Side bar to note what a cute and clever name that is for a vegan restaurant]. We've been trying to eat more plant-based, and that menu is awesome! I immediately knew that I'd have to try everything on there. Fast forward about 3 weeks, and we've been 4 or 5 times already. We've ordered from the regular and vegan menus, and nothing has disappointed us. My favorites so far have been the crispy eggplant tacos, nutritious bowl, fusion bowl, and curry bowl. And oh my goodness the vegan burger and sweet potato fries were among the best things I've ever tasted. They're all good-sized portions, and I've made 2 meals from each. Non-vegan options were equally good. The burger, gyro, pizzas: all delicious! It gets pretty busy at lunch, probably from the Energy Corridor crowd, so come early or prepare to be there a bit. The only thing that would make me love it even more would be to have nutritional facts for the menu items. As it is, my efforts to track my meals get a little wonky, but it's totally worth it! read more
