Can we find the owner of this IKEA unit. It was Delivered with my container shipment.
Movetia S.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! The movers were great. They arrived early but the move was doomed from the beginning. The guy who have me the quote (I am sad to say he was a fellow vet). Did not give me the quote for a full service move. I find out literally weeks before the move his quote for ($8K+) was for me to pack my 3000 sq ft home on my own! I requested 100% packed by Mayflower.com (not Chipman), stored by Mayflower, and the unpacked by Mayflower. I had to scramble and pack, find a storage unit in TX, all on my own. The estimator did document my desire to have the kitchen packed but he underestimated the packing needed and I was asked to pay extra the day of the move (This was resolved by the move coordinator but it caused a huge delay as the truck they brought was too small due to the under estimation of household goods by their employee since they did not have enough packing material. The move took almost 12 hours even though I packed everything with all the boxes stored in the garage except the kitchen, TVs and large pictures.) I wrote the owner and never heard back from him. (great customer service) I thought he might want to know that he has an employee who cannot give an accurate quote or estimate how much manpower is needed to pack a large kitchen. In the mist of all the confusion I was never given the high value declaration form (even though I asked the second set of movers for it). My household goods were to be shipped Aug 1-8. That did not happen. They did not show up until Aug 16th. Then I find out that its not the entire load. Half of it was still in CA with no ETA. The second half arrived Labor Day weekend. Joy! My antique bed is damaged, my son's Evolution Y Fliker scooter is MIA, my steel shelving unit was broken down (without my knowledge and not reassembled) and the plastic pieces that hold it to gather a missing and are not they are useless. (They gave me someone else's cheap Ikea shoveling unit) One of the TV's they packed is not working (I was charged for three boxes but they used my TV box). I was charged for the mattresses to be packed in boxes and then unboxed. They're still in boxes) Still unpacking so I am not sure what else is missing or broken and I need to see if my treadmill survived the move. Again USE ANOTHER COMPANY No-one is responsible for their actions or inaction. This is the first move I have done that was not a military move. This was by far the worst experience out of the previous 10+ military moves. Here is the letter I wrote the day of my move July 27 , 2016 "Good afternoon Mr. Chipman: First let me apologize for reaching out to you via Linkedin with a concern but I felt compelled to give you my feedback directly. I originally contacted Mayflower for a full service (Relocation from Fairfield Ca, to Austin, TX) quote March 22, 2016. I was assigned Dan Shane. Dan was over an hour late for the appointment April 8, 2016. He was pleasant but quickly did a walk thru and said he would send me a quote. I never received the quote so I sent a follow up email and text. I accepted the quote via email April 23, 2016. April 29, 2106 Dan said he would send the e documents. I sent another follow up email May 15, 2016. the e-documents were not sent until June 23, 2016. I reviewed the documents and sent an email with questions and corrections. I assumed the person doing the estimate is a professional and that the quote would be accurate .Dan added a King bed erroneously and did not add any of the framed art, mirrors, glad toppers, etc. (The quote was revised to add 12 pictures). I asked why he did not add certain items in the house and he said I was a self pack. I corrected him And said no I requested a full-service quote (pack, transport, store, and unpack). My house was partially packed (by me) only because my home was for sale. He said he would have to come out and do another quote. The move was less than a month away, so I said I would pack everything except the kitchen, TV's, stereo and framed art. The day before the move I contacted Dan and asked what time the movers would arrive because I had not received a confirmation. Dan was quite rude. He told me to contact the Coordinator. I told him that all the emails came in his name and that he is listed as my coordinator on the my.mayflower website. The quote was erroneous which caused major problems (lack of supplies, truck too small, etc). The poor guys are still packing as I type. Dan is costing you money and is a poor reflection on your company."

Turn fabric on an ottoman.

UPDATE! I finally got the rest of my stuff at the end of August but not without damage. Furniture was scratched and stained. Fabric on furniture was torn. The dish pack, which was clearly marked FRAGILE, was compressed and some dishes were broken on the inside. A floor lamp is now lopsided. And my bicycle does not ride correctly. I also ended up with a table leg that isn't mine and a lawnmower bag that isn't mine. The movers told me to toss them out. I will post pictures of the damage. Beware of this lousy moving company. I'm serious.

My moving experience bought me to tears but there customer service is sadder

John did a great job on the estimation part of my load and gave me a idea of what the cost would be.

I asked why when fuel is not being consumed while loading / unloading. The answer that is what we do. Wow, that is strange to charge $13.00 per hour for a truck not using fuel. Additional there is a min 30 min travel time charge which would be an additional $65 for this move. Not using them! This also appears to be illegal in California "Unfair Competition Law (UCL): Charging for a service not rendered (like fuel not used) can be argued as "unfair or deceptive" under California Business and Professions Code § 17200, especially if the surcharge is used as a hidden profit center rather than a cost recovery tool." Below is a reply and here is my response: The information about the fuel fee was presented to be based on a percentage of the total move time. Not your actual cost, which I would have been okay with. I'm not asking for anything to be waived, just transparency. Your remarks about your family are completely out of line. It's clear you want to change the subject from your questionable practice and make this personal. It is not personal. I don't know you other than how you have presented your business here. Very Questionably. I see you removed your statements about your family business. I provided the law that it appears you are not following in a private message. Here it is again: Unfair Competition Law (UCL): Charging for a service not rendered (like fuel not used) can be argued as "unfair or deceptive" under California Business and Professions Code § 17200, especially if the surcharge is used as a hidden profit center rather than a cost recovery tool.

Added bonus: the move came to just over 500.00 for a move from El Cerrito to Oakland. A few years ago, Starving Students did the reverse move in 5 hours and charged me more than double. I'd move again just to have this level of service!

Not sure how I drew the short end of the stick with this one…read more.. I hired Jay's Small Moves for a packing job only. I had alternative plans for the moving portion. My packers came on time and ready to go and finished in close to the quoted time. That's where the positiives end. I needed help due to physical limitations and I feel like I've been taken for a ride. Everything I owned had been haphazardly shoved into boxes with minimal padding (and in some cases, my own clothing used as padding). Things were sloppily labeled and it took me weeks to wort thru all of the boxes labeled vaguley (i.e. "Closet Stuff", "Kitchen") with no further indication of what was actually in most boxes. My laptop was shoved into a box without padding and pressed against the cardboard. It's now dented and wont turn on. Empty boxes from the pantry and essentially trash had been packed away, even though I requested no perishables or open items be packed. Items of note that were thrown into a box without care/packaging: - glass scale - my MacBook Pro (not functioning anymore) - culinary spray bottle (broke) - dirty pans from the stove (I requested these be left on the stove for future use) - matching shoes in DIFFERENT boxes - various office/computer electronics (jostling around, no padding) I still need to do a full audit of damages caused by careless packaging, but just the laptop and immediately noticeable damaged office equipment is thousands of dollars of damage. So the realtively affordable packing job costed me much more than anticipated in damages, time, and overall effort. If you hire these guys, you'll need to watch them like a hawk and I pray you're not disadvantaged in a way they think they can take advantage of.

I solicited multiple quotes, and off the top of my head I know they came in at half the price of Fresh Start Movers (PS stay away from them lol! They were horrible and so overpriced). White glove quality with Mentor Movers though (And I am picky lol!) The crew was professional, efficient, and handled everything with care. No dragging things out, no hidden surprises, no attitude--just solid, high-quality work from start to finish. They made what is usually a stressful process feel smooth and under control. What really stood out was how organized and quick they were without being careless. They protected my furniture, worked as a tight team, and got everything done faster than I expected. Excellent work! Highly recommend!!…read more A female family member recently had a medical emergency. She is elderly and a also recent cancer survivor. Prior to the recent emergency, she was living independently with a friend. The friend is a male and is also elderly. He is a bit of a hoarder and it is now no longer safe for her to be living with him there. Brian and Jacob with Moving with Grace helped us move her out of the hoarder house and into her own apartment at an assisted living facility. The friend knew we were coming with movers at 0830 to move the furniture out. We rang the doorbell and there was no answer. It was so quiet, I thought the house was empty. Brian and Jacob were both very polite and friendly and pretended it was not disgusting. They were professional and worked diligently despite the filth.
